Great addition to downtown Matthews with plenty of flavor choices, a few toppings and a handful of tables behind Moes original bbq. We got the kiddie cup of cookie monster with gummies worms and the single scoop of dutch chocolate. Great taste and just the right amount.

We were big time Brusters fans, the line was crazy long tonight so decided to try The Local Scoop. SO GLAD we did! I had the Peanut Butter Cup, my new favorite flavor. Wife had the strawberry sorbet and loved it, son had the Birthday Cake and actually complained that the 1 scoop size was too big. We will be going there as our top choice from now on

I love this little shop, from the homemade, local ice cream to the aesthetic. I will say that it’s on the pricier side, but it’s very filling for the portion you receive and truly high quality ice cream (watch out Ben & Jerry’s!). I do wish that they had some covered seating since it rained today, but eating ice cream in car was perfectly fine as well. My mom and I had the blondie flavor, and we were blown away. We would definitely stop if we were to be in Matthews again.

Some of the best ice cream I have ever had! They offer both dairy and non-dairy flavors. I tried the non-dairy mint chocolate chip which was absolutely delicious. It was light, refreshing, had the right amount of sweetness and even had real mint leaves in it! Ive never seen that before in a mint chocolate chip ice cream. I also had the non-dairy cookie butter which was superb as well. It tastes like Biscoff cookie spread.If youre in the area and in search of a good place to get ice cream, look no further!

Delicious ice cream, didn’t even know this was here! The peanut butter cup is some of the best ice cream I have ever had. Friendly staff, perfect for a summer evening and it’s nice that it’s open late.

The Local Scoop is always great. Lots of flavor options and super reasonable prices. We try to get there pretty regularly.

This was some of the best ice cream Ive ever had! Seems many of the ingredients are locally sourced which I like to support, and it shows in the taste. My wife got birthday cake and I got strawberry dream, highly recommend both. The staff are friendly and welcoming :)

The ice cream was okay, but certainly not worth $9 for 2 golf ball size scoops. My wife laughed at me for an hour when she saw how small the cup was. Hate to think what an adult size portion would cost.

Absolutely amazing. I tried their sea salted caramel ice cream. It was so creamy and delicious.

Not a lot to offer but what they do have they do well. Orange float is tasty

Wow where do I begin? I took my wife here for dessert on our date night after we ate at Moes BBQ and boy did they not disappoint.I had the Cookie Monster which was absolutely phenomenal while my wife had the Coffee Toffee which was also great (of course I had to taste test).Everything was super fresh, delicious, and you can tell they have a true commitment to their craft.Side note, the employee who helped us Chase was so friendly and helpful that it made the experience that much better.Highly recommend to everyone in the Matthews area to check them out.We love supporting local businesses and The Local Scoop will now be in our date night rotation!

Pretty good. Has a very fluffy, lightweight texture. Was pretty expensive.

So many flavors and its so delicious! Love that its a local mom and pop shop! My favorite is brownie batter, but they dont have it all the time. My son is non-dairy and loves the Staycation flavor.

They have a bench shaped like a cow. Whats not to like 🤣.... Great ice cream BTW
