I would give this place 10 stars. The owner is always nice and helpful. He trys to give you the best price possible on your repair. I wont take my car to no another shop.

After being quoted over $1000 dollars for a New exhaust system for 2 other shops and told that it would.take a week to order parts, I brought my car hear. They repaired the exhaust, maf sensor, and repaired the evap system so car would pass emissions for way under other shops quotes and had car back to me the same day. Think I have found a new place to have any auto repairs done.

My son referred us to them. We had both fan blowers fixed by them yesterday. The diagnosis was $50 and I was impressed with how quickly our 2012 Traverse was diagnosed. Our vehicle was done well before the days end and their pricing is reasonable. Both the blowers and the mechanics are work optimally. My son goes there regularly when his truck needs fixing and we will too whenever the occasion arises.

I brought my 2002 conversion van in for some A/C issues and they had it diagnosed within the hour. The repairs were completed in a timely manner and at a very reasonable price. My overall experience, ranging from conversations over the phone to in-shop, was friendly and professional. All in all I cant recommend them enough.

Great place for u to get your car fixed

Ive been taking my car here for a long while now, and they are very friendly, the quality of work is great and the prices are fair. They even have a shuttle service if you need to go home they would take you home and pick you up when your car is ready (depending on the distance). Great people that care about your car! They are up front with what they recommend and what they think can wait, if you dont have the money right away, and what they think needs to be worked on if they find something that is a concern.

The absolute best place in this area. Excellent service. Prices that reflect what actually needs to be done and not that has been given from what a computer suggests the repair will take. These mechanics absolutely know what they are doing. This will be the only place I will take my vehicles from now on.

On 5-24 I was driving through town when engine in my 04 Grand Prix went out had to have it towed and replaced! Went to shop Very clean facility receptionist is very nice and polite had engine replaced with new engine and that one went out 60 miles into my 345 mile drive home... had to have vehicle towed back to shop where I was later told it was my flywheel and they had to order one so I patiently wait Friday comes I received a called telling me that cylinder 1 is not firing they going to replace motor! Really like the fact that they did not just give me the car without telling about bad cylinder! If I lived closer I would only service my vehicle at your shop! Even though you guys have had my car almost 2 weeks at least I know that your not rushing and making sure I get the best value and service! Thanks 🙏🏾 for your service

I would say the pricing and description of service(s) are sorely lacking. I asked about an alignment and was told $80 but it was never disclosed it wast only for the front. IF I HADNT KNOWN & ASKED, I WOULDVE GOTTEN 1/2 an alignment.A diagnostic fee was quoted as a set fee and later was asked for specifics. Thats a joke. I worked in the utomotive service industry, PASS!!!

Just took my daughter’s car in to get an oil change because she is driving it to New York. The guys there checked everything just to make sure it was safe to drive. Won’t take my cars anywhere else.

The transmission linkage failed on my SUV and could not be driven so I called George at American and he made arrangements for it to be towed as well as they had my SUV back to me the same day.When you find a place thats friendly, honest, reliable and has fair prices like American you give them a permanent place in your phones contacts and become that loyal customer.Thanks again George!

Quality work, efficient, good communication

Am fairly new to the area (Merrillville) and have been on the look out for a local shop to keep my van on the road. My new neighbor told me to go see Artie at American Complete Auto. My neighbor told me that he was the owner and had a shop in Gary as well. I went in and talked to the front desk girl. Asked for artie and she got him to the desk. I told him that I had an older mini van that needed the blower motor to be fixed. I told him that other shops in the past have had an issue because it is a handicap van and parts are hard to find. He assured me that it wouldnt be a problem, and true to his word, found and corrected the problem. Showed me a wire that was green with corrosion. $75 bucks later I was on the road again! They could not have been nicer at that shop, and have gained a customer for life. Or until I move again. Thanks Artie and Co!!!!!

Unbelievably amazing, trustworthy, patient, and friendly bunch. My experience started with Arte, conversating with me for hours while my car was looked at. I had numerous oil leaks which also made a few trips back to them. I, luckily had a warranty to which they assisted with great knowledge and experience. After all the leaks were fixed; i was told i needed a part that was not covered but definitely necessary. They gave me a discount feeling bad for all the trouble. (Which was not their fault). Then, they were very patient with my timing of payment. Each and every person that works there has been remarkably accommodating. Jenny...you are amazingly patient! Even when i was less than reasonable.

I took my fathers Chevy Impala there for repairs. State-of-the-art facility, great comfortable/modern waiting room. The staff was courteous and informative explaining to you step by step repairs that were needed. Fairly priced and very honest. Brought my 02 solara have timing belt and water pump they call me and say they cant get my wheel unlocked it was a brake so I did it now I have coolant shooting out where the water pump is and they said they cant do nothing about it! Lawyer up! Just got off phone with them asking them if they can take a look again and i was talked to do unproffesnal and cursed at theses people take no responsibility for their work ! Please if u value your car do not go to this shop they are all unreliable and unprofessional!!!!!!!

New and clean auto repair shop. Usually auto shops are nasty and dirty. I loved the decor and plants in the store. The staff was nice and gave me a free quote on my truck.

I stopped in today to check why my check engine light was on. The staff was great and explained everything to me so thoroughly! They made the repairs and my car runs perfect! The facility is beautiful also! I definitely recommend coming here for any repairs!

We were traveling through the area when our car broke down. We called lots of places but no one could see us that day to diagnose what was wrong. When i called America and talked to George he said they could look right away and help. We got there and they took a look, gave us an estimate, and repaired it in half the time they estimated. Took my 1998 toyota camry in for and exhaust problem. George did an incredible job with the mechanics finding the issue right away then showing me where the problem was, the cost, and how much time it would take to repair. The mechanics did an A-1 job and my car is running like new! The place was extremely clean and all workers were very professional. I would definitely recommend all family and friends to this company!

I took my 16 ram 1500 in for an exhaust issue. I was there not but 10 minutes and they had the truck up on a lift. 70 bucks later they had the issues fixed. The owner seemed like a good dude. The shop is really nice and clean. Ill be coming back when I decided to get my truck leveled.

Took in my Tundra for some odd knocking noises from the front passenger side. George did a great job getting my truck in and problem found. I waited a month to post this review to make sure the problem didnt come back and everything has been fixed and holding up great!

I believe in giving credit where its due. I had some work done on my car but it had some issues. So I had to take it to the shop to see what the problem was. Now usually Im VERY skeptical of mechanics because they try to take advantage of females but, I must say Jim saw the problem (which was the wheels werent tightened after being put on) and corrected it and didnt charge me AT ALL! Now I hate to say it but if I would have gone somewhere else they probably would have fixed it and said it was something totally different and charged some outrageous price! So I would like to say thank you to Jim and George at American Complete Auto Repair in Crown Point for their AWESOME customer service!

I took my Jeep Wrangler on the first day they were open. I noticed from the get go that they have the nicest waiting room I have ever seen. Anywhere! I then was worried that they would have some opening day hiccups. None! They had a full house and everything seemed to be moving seamlessly. Terrible service. Went to get check engine light fix. Came out after 1300$ in repairs comes back to me with half the issues still there and now they want to charge me more. Next morning i went not even 15 miles to work round trip for check engine light to come back on with same issues i already knew of. Definitely do not recommend.

These guys were absolutely amazing! My husband is in the military and getting ready to deploy so we decided to head to Indiana from Fort Belvoir Virginia to see my family. Well the day we were supposed to head back home so my husband can get ready for his deployment my car wouldnt start! It was a complete nightmare. My dad called around and no one could fit us in for that day. He called these guys and it was no problem to get us in right away and start working on my car. They kept in touch with us the whole time and it was ready the next day!

I highly recommend this repair shop to anyone who has any problems, questions, or corncerns about their vehicle. They have extremely well customer service, and will explain to you anything you need to know about the car. Not only that, but their pricings are very reasonable.

From the outside looks like it would be a great facility, but just like the wrapping on a package it could be garbage inside and in this case it is. Very unprofessional, they dont talk to customers intelligently, they really seem like they dont know what they are even doing, they take the lets replace everything approach and hope that fixes the problem. These shysters are out for blood -yours! STAY AWAY!

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra. It’s not new, but it’s new to me. I bought some wheels and tires to give it an upgrade in appearance from a local well known, big name tire shop. I will not make any derragatory statements about the tire shop nor will I mention who they are because it’s hard to prove they were trying to pull a fast one on me. Needless to say the tire shop told me I needed 4 new TPMS sensors (tire pressure sensors) for each wheel. This equates to an additional $300 bucks on top of the $2300 for wheels and tires. I ended buying my own from a local parts store for less than $150. I took them in and had them installed. When I picked my truck up I was told that the sensors couldn’t be programmed and more than likely I needed a new TPMS module. I immediately called Toyota and was quoted $700. I was sick to my stomach. Heading home I saw that American Complete Auto repair had opened and decided I had nothing to lose by getting an estimate. No matter what, I knew the price had to be better than what Toyota was quoting me. The owner greeted me at the counter and I explained my dilemma to him. He informed me that in order to give me a correct estimate, a diagnostic was required. The diagnostic was either $40 or $50, but would be credited towards my bill if I decided to have American do the work. Once again I had nothing to lose and agreed. About 45 minutes later the owner came back in handed me my keys and told me I was ready to go and my truck was fixed. I instantly became argumentative and told him I never authorized repairs. The owner smiled and told me I owed him nothing. He told me there was nothing wrong with the module or the sensors and that it simply needed to be re-calibrated & reset. The diagnostic reset everything to work properly. I was ecstatic and couldn’t thank him enough. Thanks to his honesty and truly professional employees I saved close to $1000. American will always be my first choice for auto repair!!

Came in to get muffler tips replaced! The guy said it would be $40 but at the end he raised it to $70???? I was outraged. Not to mention the owner just comments rudely about everyone’s reviews. I have reported this place to the BBB. I WILL NEVER COME BACK!
