Not gonna lie, their furniture is expensive.The manufacturers they use all have lifetime warranties on frames & springs plus around a decade of cushion warranty.We only looked at sofas so I cant speak to the warranties of other pieces.They are very proud of their craftsmanship and the fact that 90% of their items are made in the Midwest. The only non-American manufacturer we came across was from Canada.They have tons of options & our sales lady Amy was great! When she didnt immediately know the answer she went off to look it up and came back with the answer plus usually an answer adjacent to what we asked (anticipated our next question).Since their furniture is pretty much made to order it takes between 12- 24 weeks for the pieces to come in.Our current couch is on its last legs so we knew we needed to get the process started. We ordered on 8/22 & the estimated delivery is 12/28.This isnt a place for quick and cheap. This place requires planning and forethought on furniture pieces that will last for ages.

We are so disappointed in our experience with Penny Mustard. Our sales associate was extremely helpful. We purchased a sectional, ottoman, leather chair, Area rug and throw pillows. We were told when we ordered, in APRIL, that delivery would be SEPTEMBER-ridiculous, but ok… Now, nearly mid October, we’ve just been told that they’re not sure that they can get the fabric for our sectional. Now they tell us?They said that they emailed in April. When I spoke to the warehouse rep I found out that she misspelled my email address. Obviously, she didn’t receive a response from me. She did not bother to follow up after not hearing back from me. Why wold I not respond when I was told that I couldn’t get my couch that matches everything else I ordered?I would recommend shopping elsewhere. You may receive your furniture!

Extremely disappointed! I had a dining room set delivered in September, 2020. It is now September, 2021 and I already had to get the table replaced, due to dents that were put in the table after setting a bag of groceries on it, and I just discovered several deep scratches on one of the chairs. There are only two adults in my home and we rarely have company. We have no idea how the scratches got in the chairs, considering, the only thing we do is sit in them! I Penny Mustard and was informed that “I’m gonna get scratches and dents over time.” I certainly didn’t expect to get them within a year, considering the price! I would not recommend using this company! Do not waste your hard earned money on furniture as soft as cotton! There’s something missing on this wood!

To be clear, the best customer experience Ive ever had any place in my entire life! If you buy here you buy it forever, very open and understanding! We had to get my wife a chair that was an easy lift, takes about 10 weeks but they let us have the floor model which Im truly grateful for. We need to get the chair before the time in which they can make it. Truely solid furniture by the way. Thank you guys!

We really didnt know what to expect at Penny Mustard since we will be moving to the area and are unfamiliar with the shopping options. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of quality and pricing of made in the USA furniture. Tish made the experience even better by being knowledgeable and helpful without being aggressive or pushy. She was patient with us as we changed our mind on our sofa selection several times. We will do business there again and recommend others do the same.

I went to Penny Mustard after shopping for living room furniture at other retailers nearby (Bob’s Furniture, Ashley Home Furniture, Value City Furniture) so that I could make a well-informed decision on buying the best furniture for my new home. The 3 things that I searched for was comfortability, aesthetics, and price which are things that I found at the other previous stores. Unfortunately, I barely found any of these things at Penny Mustard. I was candid with my sales representative, Lynn, when I walked in about what I was searching for and the pieces I liked from other stores. After I discussed my price point with her, the conversation seemed to die off then. The sales pitch was on extremely high quality but greatly lacked in comfortability as all the couches I sat on were very firm. A lot of the couches had nail heads or loose thread patterns that would not bode well with pets. There was a lot left to be desired from a visual standpoint with the stationary couches. We continued on with pleasantries until I left. The thing that bothered me the most about my visit was this vibe that potential customers get treated less than for not wanting to buy extremely expensive furniture. A lot of people don’t want to keep the same furniture for 20 years anymore nor spend thousands of dollars on a small, 2-cushion sofa. There should be letters on the exterior that says “luxury, custom-made furniture” so that people are not blind-sighted before they come in. If I knew what I know now after visiting, then I would have followed my first instinct and never went in. This store is for very specific types of customers; it really did not feel like a store for most people to patron.

Penny Mustard is great and Joanna at the Orland Park Location is even better. Im all about good energy during a sales process; because lets just be honest, weve all had a lousy experience or two when it comes to buying something. With that being said, Joanna changes that entirely, shes professional enough to inform you, but she provides an experience that doesnt feel sales-e. Go check her out, you wont be disappointed with Penny Mustards great furniture and even better yet, Joannas great vibe!

Our experience purchasing furniture from Penny Mustard has been great! We worked with Will to make our purchase at the Merrillville location...Will was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Post purchase, we had the pleasure of getting help from Stephanie (Ordering Coordinator)...Stephanie was quick to answer the questions we had regarding our order status and she saw to it that our second delivery (for a back-ordered piece, yet to come) would be delivered at no charge. Our favorite part of the process was seeing the bedroom furniture in place on delivery day. The delivery team was on schedule and exceeded our expectations in setting up the furniture in the designated space...these guys were pros and took expert care in handling/placing our furniture. My only regret is that I wasnt home to thank them in person for their most excellent service.TL;DR: Were very pleased with our purchase(s) from Penny Mustard...we will come here first for our future furniture needs! Bought my couch took 4 month for my furniture and still didn’t come in

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Amanda S. at the Merrillville, Indiana store. She was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, answering all of our questions. She even helped us narrow our choices for hardware selection for our new bedroom set as well as helped us select a new coffee table and end tables for our living room. The best customer service! We love our new furniture and will definitely be returning to purchase some additional accent pieces for our home! Thanks again!

Before I came here I went to two different stores didnt find what I was looking for, then this store was the next stop, we were greeted coming which was great but then it turned around a woman came up to us asking if we needed any help we said no just looking and instead of going about her business she followed us and asked us questions. Great I like that until we told her our $ range and boom she shut down saying only this and showing us nothing much. Then she basically was pushing us out the door, no thank you I will never shop here again.

After being frustrated by cookie cutter designers at self-proclaimed `higher end` custom furniture stores in the area, I walked into Penny Mustard. I was pleasantly surprised to find Amanda S. She listened to me and helped me to choose the furniture and accessories that fit my tastes, not the latest fad. I now have 4 beautiful and unique rooms worthy of Traditional Home magazine. The items have been delivered and I could not be happier with quality and comfort of my new furniture. Everyone from customer service to the delivery people were a pleasure to work with on this project.

Very aggressive sales staff that dont listen to your needs. Just want to have you try out every thing in the store and because it is American made (which is a great thing) you should settle for quality over comfort. Need something that is quality and comfortable for taller customers.

My wife and I on 10/03/2019 & 01/08/2020 spent a total of $17,343.63 on 8 pieces of family room furniture. All the furniture was delivered on February 25th, 2020, 1 of the leather recliners has a small rub mark on the arm of the chair about 2 inches long. When we contacted the showroom where they purchased the items they referred us to their customer service office in Wisconsin. I explained to the gentleman from customer service (repair department) what the issue was and he responded we should contact a leather repair company. I asked him are you suggesting I pay for this repair he said yes, but then said he’d split the cost of repair with me??? I told him that was absolutely ridiculous the repair would probably be $150. at most. He agreed said maybe $200 depending on how big the mark was.. I told him Thank You but No Thank You!! Penny Mustard could keep their $75!!! It was not about the money at all!! All this company apparently cares about is selling you furniture. This was our first experience with this company and will be our last as well.. This company needs to learn that the first sale happens in the showroom and future sales happen after, in service. Simply put sales people sell the first piece of furniture, service sells the next multiple pieces. TERRIBLE we will never recommend Penny Mustard nor ever shop there again. Just FYI Deyoung Furniture in St John across from Lake Central High School sells Smith furniture as well. We recommend going there.

We bought two twin xl adjustable beds. My husband had not been able to sleep in a regular king sized bed due to sciatic leg pain for a long time. We have had these beds for one week and already, he has not had a better night’s sleep. I am also sleeping better and am not awakened by a hot mattress from menopause symptoms. We also bought a leather sleep sofa and it is amazing! No bars under the mattress make for a very comfortable night’s sleep. Jenine, our sales rep, was wonderful in helping us figure out what we needed. We plan to be long-time customers!

With a name like Penny Mustard, who knew it was a furniture store with updated Amish made furniture of such quality we were in awe. Would fit in any modern farmhouse style, or modern style home. They also sell Smith furniture from Bernes Indiana.Accessories and lamps. Its a must see store. If you are looking for American made furniture and quality this is the store for you. Its not your moms amish furniture of oak.

One of the nicest furniture places ive been to. I was talked to by a lady named Janine I believe (hopefully i remembered her name correctly) she was amazing. I really came in to browse with my husband just for fun. I actually now know where Im gonna buy my mattress from. She was so informative and it really was worth our time stopping in Im really glad I did. The place is beautiful and although it is not cheap the warrantys on everything were amazing. Everything is Usa made which I love. Definetely recommend and Il be back.

At first, i only looked at price (like most of america im guessing) but Amanda walked me through all of the differences in how furniture is built, and i really cannot believe the quality difference! Why have i been buying junk all these years only to buy again in 5 years?? I love the idea that the next time i buy furniture, it will be because i WANT to...not NEED to. Warranty is a joke. Not a lifetime life time. Only 1 year. Bought 2 recliners for $1500.00 each and one is already broke and they cant come out to even look at until 2 weeks from now. Then they have to order the part which further adds to the wait. THE CHAIR IS ONLY 6 WEEKS OLD.VERY EXPENSIVE FURNITURE!!NO MORE PENNEY MUSTARD FOR THIS FAMILY!!🖕😤
