Best place for dreems to come tru! Who needs reel freinds when you can make them hear! You pick out the skin then you get to push the petle and stuff it and you can give it a voise and pick out cloves for it! Its your own little freind to hug and kiss and love and take places with you! I go evry month and buy a new freind for my callecton. Built a Bare is da best!

I was very excited to take my son to build a bear for his birthday bear. My son turned two in December and he was able to pay $2 for his bear and then I had bought an additional shirt for the bear I am very pleased by the experience that they gave my son

This was one of the happiest moments in my life. I am recently divorced and in the military, so when it happened, my ex wife took my 2 year old son back to Indiana while I stayed in California. Due to COVID, I was denied leave(vacation), because we couldnt fly to states that were marked red, meaning almost all. March was his 3rd birthday, so once things lifted a bit, we were authorized travel. I had a birthday party for him and gave him tons of gifts, but wanted to let him get someone from the store so he knew it was from me. My favorite Pokemon is Dragonite and I heard you guys had them and hes obsessed with dragons and dinosaurs, so I thought the perfect thing would for us to get matching Dragonites. We waited in near the first stations and he spots a Trex(it was a raptor). Well, that one was buy one get one for $10, I got him an Eevee too. I cant even begin to tell you how emotional I got getting these for him.

Been many years that I went to this store and this time it was with my oldest daughter to get her best friends daughter a gift. They had some animals 2/$35.00

Went for my daughters first birthday. Its not what is was when it first came out. Lost all the fun and imagination. They used to have little steps that were more interactive once the bear was stuffed. The woman stuffing ours was super nice and stood in character. They say some cute kind of wacky stuff that we had to repeat while her bear was stuffed. Would not go here again. Outfits are overpriced. Took forever to get checked out. By the time we paid I was just ready to forget the place existed. Almost 40 dollars for a bear that actually only cost us a dollar so imagine how much all the shoes and outfit cost.

Clean store with helpful employees. The experience here is awesome. Items are somewhat expensive but worth it for a special occasion. We truly enjoyed our day!

Great place to buy a custom teddy bear or your choice of stuffed animal. There are lots of options and you can dress your teddy bear with several accessories including shirts, shoes, hats, etc. The prices are steep but the products are premium. Its a great place to bring a kid. The staff is extraordinary. They are great at making you feel welcome.

Bears Galore. Not inexpensive at all, especially once you stock up on clothing and accessories to clothe your bear. Great for kids - especially if they really love stuffed animals! There are very many bear choices that are constantly changed, many outfits to choose from, and tons of extras. The staff is always helpful and friendly. It makes for a nice birthday gift.

I recently went to this location for their 5 dollar teddy bears. Unfortunately they were sold out, so I opted for the 2 for 35. I got a promise pet and belle. I then got in line and asked the employee if they were part of the deal. She said yes. When I got to the register I was then told that belle was not part of it. The girl at the register was very nice about it and apologized a couple of times to me. I couldnt be upset with her though because she wasnt the one who told me they were both part of the deal. So I asked to speak with a manger. And she told me both were at the stuffing machine and asked if I didnt mind waiting a couple of minutes. I realized that the manger was the one that told me they were both included in the deal. Therefore I didnt want to argue. I figured there wasnt anything she could do since she didnt even know the correct animals for the sale. This is the second time that this has happened to me. I most likely will not be shopping at this location again.

This place is simply amazing. I took my niece for the first time and she had an absolute blast. The staff there are incredible. They are friendly, helpful and seem to have a passion for what they do. They have an enthusiasm that makes the children really enjoy the experience. It was unforgettable for even myself. My niece enjoyed every minute.

I absolutely love this build a bear work shop! Their collection changes all the time... I really like the sounds boxes and the smell bags that you can add to your bunny, bear, or any other character your child may chose... My daughters white poodle stopped talking, battery run out ...so we brought her 🐕 in a shop to chose a new sound; we were able to replace the sounds, added vanilla flavor, and a beating 💓... This is not just a store it is truly a shop service for a life time of your purchase... When you buy a stuffed animal, you name it, and register your new friend on line, receive his or her birth certificate that can help you in the years that come to fix your furry friend in a local shop or if nesesary in their main factory where they will clean and repair stuffed animals to make them look as good as the day you brought them home for the 1st time... We never had to use this service yet if you lose you stuffed friend they can try to help you to locate it using the birth certificate that they issued before your purchase. We own few of their stuffed animals ... And love every one of them... The smell last a long time and add something extra, I strongly recommend! I would like to thank the Merrillville Build A Bear staff for their patience, organization, and upbeat dispositions on today. Yes, my friends and I stood in line for hours for the Pay Your Age Day. But the staff was friendly and professional. The kids we had with us enjoyed getting their bears. I personally appreciate everything you all did today. Thank you very much!

The first time we went was a rather terrible experience. We stood in line at broken equipment while the one worker to 20 kids had to yell over how to fix it, it still didnt work. I felt bad for the lady it was obvious she had staff not come in. Everything was stressful we we decided to leave and come back another day. My second experience was wonderful! Tons of workers, everyone smiling and joyful with the children. We cant all have a good day everyday, I strongly recommend build a bear, my son loves his pokemon he built, and its really not too terribly expensive. We spent about 40 dollars, thats not too bad for a custom built bear :)

Bought a rainbow unicorn for our granddaughter. She chose her and loves Rainbow. My wife also bought some outfits for our bear, Nicholas St. Claws. The girl helping us did a great job.

Wonderful time for my 4 yr olds birthday. He was thrilled to make his own lifetime friend. The lady helping us was so sweet and engaging. Definitely will go back.

My daughter had a blast with her Girl Scout troop. The workers always make sure to provide the children with an entertaining experience. They incorporate games and smiles all around.

Theyre always so so friendly here. My boys love stopping in, even if they arent getting a toy. My son got a Pikachu for his birthday, and got my husband a Bulbasaur for his birthday. They were so patient with my son when he was shy or didnt follow directions immediately. Great place for a special stuffed friend.

Build A Bear Worshop demonstrates REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE, which is a RARETY in this day and age. Every staff member that I have encountered has been SUPER FRIENDLY and very helpful. Salym, Kelsie, and Marion are my favorite salespeople. Salym calls me AND my teddy bear by name every time I visit the store. I am a 47 year old woman with a bear of my own and I am really pleased that they dont treat me like I dont need the Build A Bear experience just because I am an adult. Every visit is a happy time for me.

The workers are super friendly, I had a great time! Pro tip: if you want to take your bear home in one of the old boxed they used to have, you have to ask for it at the check out.

Love this place it makes u feel loved and u can always get a hug when u get ur bear I am almost 50 and I still go there and get some bears always keep a lil kid in u live longer

Through being a past employee and a to-this-day guest, I love BABW. The managers are complete sweethearts, and the staff is always full of enthusiasm and wit. I’ve never seen a more put together, “team work makes the dream work” store than Merrillville’s own Build-a-bear. They’re the “beary” best!

They shouldve written that this location is temporarily closed until summer. We drove 40 minutes just to find out that they were unavailable. All the pages to this location deemed it open and there was no way of knowing of its remodeling.

They definitely made the experience of making the stuffed animals memorable and full of love.

This is getting a 5 because the customer service via 800 number was amazing!I purchased a gift card for a friend and ended up forgetting it. So I went back to the store to return it. Store in Merrillville told me I couldnt And to use it on a future trip. A couple of days later “pay your age “ was released. So I was Going to use it then. Well I never got to the store on that day. They closed before noon. So then we all got the amazing news that we will get vouchers. A week goes by and my car is broken into and my purse is stolen 😔. They took all my identification, debit, credit cards, and my build a bear gift card and vouchers. I was So sad. So I caled The 800 number about my bonus Memembership card bc that was also stolen. Well the lady, Monica, was more then happy to answer my questions. So I tell Her everything, Drake “in my feelings” was plying and I was definitely in my feelings. Well Monica hooked me up! She resent me the voucher and gave me reward points each one worth $10.00. I’m so happy!
