Employees dont wear mask properly, manager sometimes no mask avoid! Rouses much safer!

A little disappointing the past couple of weeks. I’ve shopped at Winn Dixie once per week for about a year now. This store used to be great - brightly lit, clean, full of bright smiling faces, and close to home.Over the past couple of weeks, there’s been a pretty substantial drop in quality. The produce section has really taken a dive. The produce itself is not good at all - almost on the verge of going bad, with flies buzzing around the fruit. Onions were the worst I have ever seen today. I hate food waste.. but most all of them should have been thrown out a week ago.Meat and dairy expiration dates are way too close for comfort - milk bought today (Friday), had an expiration date of Thursday next week. Lots of awesome sales on meat, but it appears that the driving factor is creeping expiry dates. I got 4 lbs of hamburger meat for $4 - but it expires in 2 days.The bakery and deli seem to be going strong, and they have brought back some of their offerings now that covid regulations have mostly lifted.Employee morale is.. low. Tony the butcher is an exemption to this however - he always puts a smile on my face. I introduced myself to him once in passing almost a year ago, and he still remembers my name and makes a point to say hi. Annette at the self checkout is also a rockstar. She’s always been good to me. Other than these two… everyone just seems like they don’t want to be there. Short, abrupt, unhelpful.It seems like the main issue at play here is low turnover of inventory, and maybe(?) understanding. The store is still relatively clean and organized, but this has taken a hit as well.COVID/mask policy is reasonable. There’s a sign on the door stating that if you have taken the shot, you can skip the mask. Nobody bothers you about it, shoppers or employees alike. It’s nice to see my neighbors smiling faces again. The store does offer the shot for walk ups as well.All in all, I’m going to keep shopping here for a few more weeks in hopes that the store gets back on track and fixes some of these issues. If not, I’ll likely be heading to Rouses down the street.Winn Dixie has been great for the past year, and it seems they may just be in a rough patch. I’ll update this review in a few weeks.Updated 7/2021: I’ve been back several times, and it seems everything is mostly back on track. Cleaner, better kept, and better selection. They must have been going through a rough patch, but they’ve brought it back. I’ll keep going here!

I like this store. It’s near my house and everyone is nice and friendly. The store is pretty much empty after 9pm which is what I like, to shop in peace with no lines.

Great service, just got drinks, water, etc, for the guys, they usually have what I want, its David with Reliable tree services, signing out.

I have been shopping groceries from this locally featured grocery store for last 15 years. Always there are some good deals on fruits, vegetables,seafood, deli, and soft drinks.Self checkout is awesome. Free courtesy coffee is one of the best services. The store is highly neat and cleaned.Only issue is, the girls working in the customer service desk are not courteous. Their behaviors sometimes hurts the customers. They are not warning and welcoming all the times.The dairy products are having little more prices but fresh. Their restrooms are cleaned but hard to find out.

Generally well stocked and decent prices. Staff members are not always the friendliest. Sometimes good sales can be found, but on other items they can be a little high. Generally lines for cash registers aren’t too bad. I really like the cakes and other sweets from their bakery.

A wonderful store full of friendly people who often endeavor to ensure that all the aisle ways are stocked, and always willing to answer questions when I get confused about where items are or where I am.

My boyfriend and I are never coming back here. Every time we shop at this specific Winn Dixie something disturbing happens. The current mask mandate is not being enforced in the slightest, and the majority of employees are wearing masks incorrectly while standing next to signage about how to properly position your mask. It’s a mad house.

This my neighborhood grocery and I’m in this place at least three times a week. I love the deals they have and the selection of products. The staff is great and some I even know by name. They have done great during the time of COVID as well. F Walmart...

Great location to get some groceries. The food has always been fresh and the prices are pretty decent, especially when compared to Rouses. The cashier I dealt with, while her name escapes me, left impression on me and I still remember to this day

Went here last night. Several customers walking around not wearing masks and no one telling them to. 6 out of the 7 employees we saw had their masks either off or on their chins walking around why theyre working. Will not be shopping at this store again. Its mandatory in Jefferson parish and the entire state.

Winn-Dixie has always been one of my favorite grocery stores because they have great products at great prices. With the introduction of their new SE Groceries reward system and app you can save even more because the app gives you special coupons on items and tells you the specials on products for that week. The app also acts as your rewards card and keeps track of your points which you can use towards future purchases. When I visited this Winn-Dixie it was fairly clean and had reasonable stocked shelves. The only complaint I had was that there was only 2 cashiers with 8-9 people in each line. They promote self-check out but self-check out limits you because you cant use your rewards which basically forced you to wait in line. Overall, great experience and I was able to buy my weekly groceries for a great price. Definitely worth the trip back as long as they fix the line issue.

Wonderful grocery store. They have the freshest, beautiful produce. Delicious fruit & veggies. Such a huge selection of everything. Exceptional wine selection.

This is one of the better Winn Dixie stores. Most of their employees are polite and helpful which is rare when it comes to customer service. Im glad this store closes at 12 because I get off work late most days & this is the only grocery store open close to home. Their prices are a bit on the high side but all Winn Dixies are so I just look at it like Im paying for the convenience.

Hot food deli gave me severe food poisoning dont eat their deli food!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that I do there is turn in my coins at the coin master. I feel they have gotten so high and mighty they can do with out my money

I have celiac snd gluten free. Was told all gluten free items in front snd in front freezer. Only thing in freezer was bread and waffles. Asked if they had any frozen chicken tenders. Employee took me to back of store where frozen chicken was. Got bag of frozen chicken breast. Bag so frozen it was nothing but ice chips. Had to beat it on floor To separate chicken breast. In front freezer whrtr I was told was gluten free was labeled organic. Walmart has special frozen food area for gluten free. Would starve to death if had to buy only from Winn Dixie. You are few blocks away. Walmart is miles. Fresh market a few blocks away is small but carries variety of gluten free meats and chicken snd pizza. I will still buy dog food and few items from you but my sometimes $145 food bill goes to Walmart Know gluten free is more expensive but my health depends on it. Know this is long and will not change any thing

Ridiculous policy. Winn Dixie opens at 6am but if you need to return something defective you just purchased you must wait till 9am when the Service Dept opens. Incompetent and disappointing!

The Mid-City Winn Dixie is awesome! The staff is attentive, the service is quick and great, and the quality of products is good. I also enjoy some of their hot food. Their self-checkout could use some improvement though. Its down at timea.

The produce is FRESH. The prices are decent. The employees are overall helpful. The store layout makes shopping simple. And the deli always has tasty food options on the go.

My favorite place to shop. They always have buy one get one free deals and the perks plan is amazing. Everyone remembers who you are and greets you. I really enjoy my shopping experience.

On the smaller size. The bakery was working and smelled so good! They had everything I needed but was a little higher in cost than Im use to paying back home!

Huge store, well lit. Friendly enough service. Huge parking lot. They have recycling for plastic bags and a coinstar machine to convert your change to paper cash or gift cards. Fruit in the premade trays can be iffy at best. Cakes look delicious.

Winn Dixie is great for just grocery shopping, but I am disappointed that management does not keep their registers with cashiers at full capacity. There is always a long line & the self-serve registers are only for a few items. It is called customer service bring it back please.

So its a Winn-Dixie. Just like all the others but rather sell stocked and good veggies and fruit. Dont buy much meat here so cant comment. Lots of parking but traffic at 5pm can be a bit of a problem. One of the nicer stores at this end of Veterans Highway,

This store has been remodeled recently so it looks nicer inside and out. A bunch of new baskets and has more self checkout lines. Even the isles and most of the departments are redone. I think prices are ok the selection is just fine and the employees are always on hand to help. Alcohol, cigarettes,Louisiana Lotto tickets sold here. Theres a Pharmacy for flu shots. And Coinstar. Way to go Win-Dixie and this is the one on Vets. Near Lake Ave.

Probably the nicest Winn-Dixie in the area. They havent had my favorite dip, Dip Me, which is the main reason I stop here.

Where do I start? Deceptive pricing schemes, slow lanes, poor upkeep of equipment? A corporate culture that pretty much guarantees that any good employee is going to disappear? 1/10 would not recommend.

Excellent alcohol selection. I know thats not everyones first thought, so I was surprised to find most of the ingredients Ive been hunting for for the last 2 months. I probably could have found them all, but since I wasnt expecting the variety, I didnt bring my list. Now I can make my favorite cocktails!

Everyone needs to try the steamed fish and seasoned vegetables from the seafood department! I get this big, beautiful, healthy meal I can steam in a microwaveable bag for just SIX DOLLARS. This is the no doubt the best value for a truly healthy meal I know of. I always get the trout with broccoli and cauliflower with all their seasonings mixed together.Mrs.Tequila is the seafood manager and she really goes out of her way for the customer. I miss her boiled crawfish already, too bad crawfish isn’t in season all year.

Great location & easy parking. Staff always professional, upbeat, and most helpful. Shop there often - esp since its right across street from the Heritage Plaza Oschner Fitness Center. Great selection of merchandise and always super clean/well organized.

Its an average Winn Dixie. Sometimes you get rude cashiers, but other times theyre pretty nice. Lines can get pretty long depending on when you go.

I have shopped at this location 32 yrs, Deschamps, then Winn Dixie then southeastern grocery, I love this location..very convenient, store is very clean, very well stocked, employees helpful and very busy..it offers customer service with money orders, western union, electric bill payments, returns..lotto, I liked it 24 hrs, but closing for 12:00 midnight is good too, thank u for this great store, as a Katrina survivor this store opened after a month and was the only source of food supply For people and pets

Decent selection, but deceptively expensive. Since SE groceries took over, the prices went up and theyve been pushing these fake sales and using all kinds of crazy marketing schemes to get you to buy stuff. For example, increase the price of yogurt 40¢, then put it on sale 25¢ off. They track your spending habits with a card you have to use to access their sales so they know if their tactics are working. I find it obnoxious and the price of our weekly groceries went from around $100 to well over $150 per week after the takeover. Nowadays I just feel bad shopping there.

Very friendly staff. The store is always clean and organized. They have a great liquor, beer, and wine selection. They have tons of specials, a loyalty Winn-Dixie Card, and they accept and give Plenti Points.

For over 20 years Winn Dixie is where Ive shopped for everything, not just food. If I cant find something there, I probably dont need it. The pricing of items meets the local area (Metairie) averages. Using the weekly sales flyer as a guide and store coupons, the prices meet Wal-Mart prices.The Winn Dixie pharmacy at this location is the best pharmacy Ive ever used. Thats saying a lot for a neighborhood with many alternatives.

Great store with everything you need. Literally has as many things as a super Walmart does. But what makes it even better is that this windixie is in a great spot. And like they say it’s all about location location location. The crew is always helpful and nice. My only thing is the prices are a little higher than the average store but it’s worth it because of the variety of products and the place it’s located.

Big selection but during the evening lines are going down the aisle because they do not have enough lanes open, also no one helping to bag, if you want to speed up the checkout process you can bag your own groceries.

Its a bigger grocery store. The prices are middle of the road, not cheapy but not high-end. Good selection, nothing to complain about.

Close to the neighborhood. Facility is a bit old, but kept clean. Lack of cashiers is an issue, normal checkout maybe 10 minutes. Decent selection if food. Avoid produce and fruit if it takes longer than 3 days to eat.

But get one sales most of the time. Lines to checkout are way more efficient than Walmarts. Staff is more professional as well.

Im hoping that the new remodel of this Winn Dixie will make it awesome. Its kinda drab at the moment. Very friendly staff though.

Good prices, great selections, but for me its always tough to check out.

It is always packed and there is not enough registers. Prices are still high despite their advertising of low prices. When they put stuff on sell for buy one get one they Jack up the price of the one you will buy.

Its open till midnight, which is a plus. I find the prices competitive. It is almost the only full grocery near Lakeshore; Dorignacs is nearly across the street, and is wonderful, but isnt open the same hours, and has different brands.

People watch your receipts they are stealing from you. Here is one from today. Roasts bye one get one free. Roast one was18.94 roast two was 18.73. They took 15 .94 off. Must be new math. Customer service was even worse.

This place is very well kept and clean. But is one of the most expensive grocery stores in the area. You are better off going across the street to shop at the locally-owned Dorignacs

I love Winn Dixie but they got rid of the one by my house so Im only giving them 4 stars because they are bad decision makers. Oh. And because the one big manager was lazy and when lines were long he would get in them to buy his own stuff instead of jump on a register and help. L*$y ass

Most of the team are very nice, however the older lady at the deli counter can be very rude when you walk up. I dislike that the juice/beverage are in 4 different places I find myself walking around in circles sometimes.
