The best icecream we have had since we arrived in town. They are usually always busy (line wrapped around the building) but the lines move fast because they have numerous people working. Great varieties of ice-cream, soft serve, ice-cream sandwiches, drinks, popcorn, etc. Cash only!!!

This is a place that I frequent. It is seasonal But it is the best ice cream around So if you are ever in the town of Newport look them up you will not be disappointed. If the line is long it is very much so worth the wait.

Hometown best Ice cream spot but as of recent my girlfriend seems to always get her order messed up by the same people(I should say person). After asking for what she ordered she usually gets it fixed by someone else but one girl always gives her attitude and I’m not sure if it’s cause she’s African American or the girl just don’t like what she orders but she always seems to only give my girlfriend attitude and nobody else as well as mess up her order and talk to her in a voice You would use with a child. Will be back as I’ve come here frequently for 15+ years but will not let her serve me or my girlfriend again. Everyone else is great though and amazing ice cream

Reasonably good ice cream, the sizes are a bit of a ripoff. My girlfriends small cone had waaaay more ice cream than my medium cup did.

Excellent soft serve ice cream! I am a Carvel lover and recently moved to Rhode Island and thought I would really miss my Carvel! After trying Frosty Freeze Im actually not sure which is better Carvel or Frosty Freeze! I am very sad to hear they close for the season in 2 weeks!

This place has been a summer icon since I was a kid. We go just for the nostalgia of it. They are always PACKED though but their lines move fast!

One of those old school ice cream stands that everyone can love. Soft serve, hard ice cream, frozen yogurt, even homemade ice cream sandwiches! It’s all delicious and priced well. You just can’t beat a spot like this in the summer.

Cheap and delicious. Got ourselves a small coffee vanilla soft serve twist and our dog his own little dish for less than $5. Everyone enjoyed it, worth a little detour on our day trip!

Staffed by super polite and attentive folks. They dont accept cards, cash only, but there is an ATM on site. The selection will cause you to pause to think. Its vast. Never had a bad experience, even in the trying times.

Im grateful I have had a clean respectful spot to enjoy ice cream for 40 years, no i am grateful even more to have that same spot with my son for the past 11 years and many many more to come.. I wish they were open all year round regardless of the winter I will still enjoy that place even in a blizzard to Frosty Freeze

The lines can be really long, but it is worth the wait. The ice cream is delicious and prices are reasonable for the portions. Service is quick when you get to the window. Over all a great place!Though beware NO Credit Cards accepted! That is the only downfall, there is an ATM next to the building, and some banks nearby, but it would be even more convenient if they took cards.

It was great! I took my wife and two kids there. I ordered the raspberry fro-yo and my kids had the cotten candy soft serve with rainbow sprinkles. The fro-yo was flavorful and the my kids loved the soft serve. Great service and they were quick with our orders.

TRADITION, and I love soft serve chocolate ice cream

This is a cult classic, a must visit if visiting Aquidneck Island. It is not homemade ice cream, but the service, prices and offerings make us all coming back for more. I highly recommend coffee and vanilla soft serve twist with either jimmies or chocolate dip. Extra special to come after visiting the beach!

Ice cream is good. Parking lot is dangerous and is always crowded but the staff is super efficient at keeping it moving.It is a townie kind of place soft serve is the best deal and is tasty.

Great except for the line!! One of these days Im going to order the special ice cream dish for dogs and see if its a better deal than the cone I usually get.

Our family loves Frosty Freez. We are locals and its the only place we go for ice cream. Be prepared for a long line. But it is worth the wait! There is something for everyone here! Our son has a dairy allergy, they serve mango sorbet which is dairy free. They are very careful about cross contamination, using a fresh scoop for his sorbet. They have hard and soft ice cream, frozen yogurt, low sugar, slush and even ice cream for dogs and th as ts only some of the selection!! The only negative here is they only take cash or local checks. Although its posted many people still try to use debit and credit and it can hold up the already long line.

I usually shun soft serve but they have coffee soft serve and now I am addicted. They also make their own ice cream sandwiches. Yum!

Im pretty sure this is the best ice cream Ive ever had. Its so thick and creamy and delicious. I live in Mississippi, but I go to Rhode Island every year to be a camp counselor and we always go here. And we ask them every year to franchise to the south! Really though, its amazing.

If you use a credit or debit card, they direct you to the atm on the side that charges you $3. So, an extra 3 bucks for their ice cream. Their ice cream is good but not worth that extra charge.

If you like soft serve ice cream you cant beat Frosty Freez! Its an island tradition w/ the locals!! The lines at peak times can be long but the friendly staff keep em moving! Root beer floats are great, sundaes too. Theres all kinds of stuff in addition to the soft serve (slushes, ice cream sandwiches, etc).

Who doesnt love Frosty Freez?? Everytime we come to visit the east coast we stop here for ice cream!! Theyll have just about everything youll want!! The secret is to visit before the kids get out of school and while most people are at work. This place can get very packed making it impossible to find a spot. But true lovers of this place are always willing to wait!!!

Frosty Freeze is the go-to ice cream place for folks on the island. Its super cheap. Almost always a large line, but it moves fast.Personally, I prefer Anna Ds in Portsmouth, but Frosty Freeze is the overwhelming local favorite.
