Very thorough and quality work.
I take my 2010 Subaru Outback in for AC check up. They say I need a new pulley and serpentine belt and oh by the way the radiator hoses need to be changed. I say Okay, 600.00 later. The AC was never check like I wanted and from my point of view the radiator hoses didnt need to be changed yet. Few months have passed and the radiator hose is leaking. Tried tighten it up my self and stop for a few weeks and starts again leaking. Going to have to do it my self replace with better hoses than those cheap ones. Probably not the right inside diameter and there is to much play. They offer to look at there work but I am a busy hard working Machinist and dont have time for their banker hours. Would recommend finding some other mechanic to do your work.
Brought my truck in for brake maintenance. They gave me excellent service and did not try to overcharge me at all. They were very honest and upfront about any questions I had.I would definitely recommend this auto shop.
Went in to get my check engine light looked at. They plugged it into their code reader and found out the car just needed an oil change. Changed the oil and we are now good to go. Very honest and had me in and out for a fair price.
After our car was held hostage for 7 months by another shop we were hesitant to ever trust another shop. But a check engine light came on. We brought our Kia here for a valve change and were not disappointed! Tom was very helpful and informative! He made sure to keep us updated about when the part came and when it was installed. We saw all the terrible reviews and decided to try this place just in case, and honestly we have no idea why any of these bad reviews exist. Maybe cause people are expecting to be pampered and have red carpet treatment? Either way, this place was great! Well definitely be coming here with all our cars.
I went there with my 1993 Dodge Intrepid to get my AC unit converted from an r12 to an r134. TOM gave me an estimate of about $350 and said to bring my car around front to check if any additional work was needed. TOM and the mechanics looked under my hood and said my AC lines and condenser also needed to be replaced and the estimate went up to $900. I wanted to weigh my options so I left. I called Auto Zone a few days later and asked about doing it myself. They told me straight off the bat that my car should already have an r134 and told me where to look under the hood to confirm. Turns out that I did have an r134. So i bought freon and my A/C has cold air again. TOM saw a young woman come in and tried to take advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars. What a bunch of you know whats! Do not trust this business. Please BEWARE of TOM. He seems nice, but this just proves they just want to take your money. Do not do business with them.
Last month, check engine light comes on in my van. I take it in and am told I need an entirely new transmission. I pay for it, wait 3 days for the work, get my car back exactly as it was before with the same exact transmission problem. So I take it back. They have it for 2 weeks to make sure it is done right, and I picked it up today. Drove it as far as Kansas St. before the engine completely siezed up and the vehicle is no.longer operational. It was running before I took it in. These people are con artists. Do not have your vehicles serviced here.
Do NOT go here. The worst auto shop in history, I would give less stars if possible. Manager is less than competent. They replaced the transmission in my prelude because I didnt have enough time to do it on my own. Ended up taking them about twice as long as I would have taken to do it myself. After driving away from their shop my drive-axel popped out. Shortly after I noticed my exhaust manifold cover was missing from my trunk. Also about a year or so later I found out that they never tightened the motor mount fully and it eventually damaged my intake manifold (expensive fix). I would NEVER EVER recommended this shop to anyone.
I would definitely Not recommend this place ..Out of all the other problems I had with them how can they not tell me I have a broken transmission mount, luckily I noticed it myself after checking over their work. Not to mention a wire cut on my O2 sensor they got rewired to bypass it, again without even telling me. Pretty obvious with the shinny new electrical tape.. What a waist of a 1 yr warranty when I will not be going back there
Tom and the Aamco team has went above and beyond . Im so very thankful for all the work they have done to make my car feel safe. Checking on me to make sure everything was ok. Ive never had such great service and would highly recommend. Thank you Tom your the best...
I had the opportunity to meet the new owner and he was very professional.AAMCO gave me the best deal on my new transmission for my 2006 Honda Accord.Tom & the mechanics were awesome!I will defenitely be referring my friends and relatives. 😀😀😀😀😀
I was able to get a great price for my chevy cruze. They were able to work with me especially on my low budget. Excellent customer service. Thank you Tom!!!!!! Definitely will recommend my family and friends.
I took my 2004 Volvo S60 in with a coupon for a free diagnostic about a year ago, and was told that they dont diagnose Volvos. My car, the very same car mentioned, needs the transmission looked at. My boyfriend called this shop, and they said Yes, we definitely work on Volvos! How can actual work be done on a car if they cant run a diagnostic on it??I call FRAUD, and agree with another commentator that this shop needs to be investigated...
Went in there for a quick question. Stood there for 20 mins well the workers talked the I just walked out. Lucky I didnt waste money there. I will never be back.
Tom and tb did a great job on my pt cruiser. Ive been comming here for years..You get what you pay for and more here at Modesto aamco. Thanks guys for the great service and more important the job well done.
Aamco crew in Modesto was amazing and very accommodating to my busy schedule. Their pricing was very reasonable and their quality of work and knowledge was expert.
Aamco did a great job working on my transmission on my 1967 camaro! Great assistance working with Tom making my appointment and Fully explaining what they did on rebuilding my transmission! Highly recommend this shop to anyone that needs work on there vehicles!
This place is a scam They take $3000out my pocket. To replace my 2006 pathfinder transmission sensor but they just clean the old sensor so 3 months later suv was with some problem. They don’t know nothing about mecanic
Tom and his crew did a fanatic job rebuilding my transmission!! Tom is a very knowledgeable mechanic and made me feel at easy... 😀
Today I had the typical experience that a consumer dreds The mechanic con artist. I was quoted a over priced estimate on a job that should have cost 180.00 Not the qote given by the manager of 385.00.This business has a well known name but dont be fooled you wont get a honest price for a job you need done. You will get over charged. Try the business across from AAMCO They will charge an Honest price.
SOLD THIS GUYS A NICE RECENTLY REBUILD TRANSMISSION, I TOOK A CHECK AND A WEEK LATER CHECK BOUNCED, HAVENT GOT PAID YET, OVER 2 WEEKS AND SO FAR THEY RE JUST GIVING US THE ROUND AROUND, VERY DISAPPOINTED CANT BELIEVE THEY DONT HAVE COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKSBY THE WAY, I WOULDNT TAKE MY CARE THERE, STAY AWAY, OR DO IT YOURSELF
My 1991 Ford Explorer broke went bad in San Jose and I had it fixed at the Campbell AAMCO. When I drove home to Groveland I noticed the kickdown throttle linkage needed adjustment as it downshifted too early with little peddle. I took it to The Modesto AAMOC and the manager Tom was out to lunch, but even though they were very busy, their head transmission builder, named TB, quickly adjusted the the linkage and took me on a test drive to show me that it now was fine. TB said he has been rebuilding transmissmissions for 25 years and, with my short time talking with him, I was very impressed. Thanks Tom and TB.
I will never ever go back to Aamco the manager at Aamco in Modesto California is very rude and obnoxious. I took my car to Aamco on Thursday I dropped it off at 4 they kept it overnight they had it all day on Friday they still havent done nothing to my car. I called and talk to Tom the manager that I needed my car back because it was Easter weekend and this is the only vehicle that I have and I didnt understand why my car was not done yet the manager Tom began to be rude I end up hanging up on him he calledme back and said are you really going to bring your car back on Monday? Tom is the rudest person ever and at one point in our conversation he even said that I was lucky that he could have charged me and not have done to work. Who says that to their customers?! Monday came along dropped it off in the morning at 2 pm he said that it was ready I picked it up and paid my deductible got home when I left again it was doing the same thing that it was doing before. I called him back to let him know my car is still running the same Tom was even more Ruder than he was the first time at the very end he end up saying dont bring your car back and that it was not their fault that the car is still not working right. I dont even deserve one stars bad customer service. They ripped me off! ! I will never go to Aamco ever again!!
During my visit at aamco transmission was an awesome experience. I pulled up in front of the shop bay. Immediately a technician walked up and greeted me. Than directed me to the office, introduced me to the manager. They were all very professional and courteous. I purchased a rebuilt transmission for my 05 chevy truck and very satisfied. Thanks aamco.
These guys are awesome they stand behind all their work. 👍👍
Tom is great but they gave me back my SUV with too much transmission fluid (way over filled). I had to go back to get some transmission fluid removed. I figured after paying $680 for a front seal I wouldnt have to wasted my time for something they shouldve checked before they gave my truck back. I just hope I didnt damage my transmission on my way back to work. So if u get work done here check ur transmission fluid ur self before u leave from here. Got back to work n now its low.... I have to spend more money on transmission fluid cuz these guys didnt want to do there job....AAMCO is great but NOT this one ...go somewhere else
If only I would have read reviews first. Im literally in tears right now because of the stress this place has given me. We are going to pickup our car and will not let them work on it but I have a feeling that something else is going to be broken on it. I feel like such an idiot for trusting this place because they had a big name. Tom sounds nice at first, but dont leave your car there, it will all go down hill from there.
If i could post a review without stars i would. My mother took her truck here and TOM was cussing at her!! She didnt do anything to him and she took her truck there before and had $3000 worth of work done and this time they told her another $400. How are you going to run a business and treat people like that?? I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy. They need to be reported!
Good service very happy with the service and I will be back in touch with this place.
Spent $3,000 on a new transmission. They either didnt purchase a new one like they said, or they simply dont know how to fix anything, took the car back in, was in there for 2 weeks. When I got it back the engine completely died driving home with smoke coming out of the engine.AAMCO is scam, and I suspect that none of their employees are qualified to work on vehicles and they might aftually be a chop shop stealing parts from cars and replacing them with even worse parts.
I purchased a lifetime warranty on my transmission for my 2003 Honda Accord v6 which they installed in a timely manner, the transmission that they rebuilt from their warehouse broke down at 98k miles after installed. Unfortunately my transmission went out when I was working out in Milpitas and I live in Turlock, so I took my car in to the AAMCO shop in Milpitas and they didnt have someone to rebuild the transmission there so the car had to be towed to the Modesto AAMCO. It was at the Aamco in Milpitas for 3 weeks and its been at the Aamco in Modesto for over 2 weeks and they still havent repaired it, you do the math......as far as their customer service goes, feels like getting the runaround with these guys. Purchase at your own risk but I wouldnt recommend the Modesto location. I would rather drive or tow my vehicle to the Stockton or Merced location if I had an option.
Great customer service and even better prices
Wanted 1800 for a used tranny and 2600 for a new one. When i look at the major parts stores a brand new tranny was cheaper then the used they wanted to use.... So i will not be doing business with them at all.
I dont know where all these bad reviews are coming from. Tom has always treated me very well and has been extremely honest
I have 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 they serviced my transmission now it shift so much better and the guys in there where hella cool and very good guys, I would take my truck for its next tranny service
I recently spent 2500 + 200 at this shop. Initially I went in to fix my car because it was shutting down. We asked them to check the alternator and the reason for the car shutting down. Maybe power or electrical related. They called me back after a day about my car and said the transmission needed to be rebuilt. They called back again and said that all the motor mounts and transmission mount needed to be replaced. I said go ahead and fix the transmission if thats the reason the car keeps shutting down. The front office Guy said yes thats it. I am referring to the Mexican Guy with glasses tall slim and wears short Jean shorts. After a few days and 2500 dollars later my car was repaired. They called me to pick it up. The same Guy had a short attitude. After driving the car half a day it began to shut down again so we just took it to an autozone. They tested my battery and alternator and said my alternator needed to be replaced so we bought one from them so Aamco wouldnt rape us on the parts. I called Aamco back and asked if they had checked the alternator and the same Guy described above took the call. He said well if I said they did then they did. I then told him we tested it and it was bad. He began to be very rude the same Guy that was chipper in the beginning and willing to take 2500 of my good earned cash. Now that they made a mistake they got very rude and not professional. I then asked him if they could install my new alternator and he said we normally dont but ok and its another 200I went in with the car and alternator and told him the tranny probably needed repair but it wasnt the repair needed to get my car going it was the alternator. He then got very rude again and said if you bring that up again I wont repair your car. He then said it was my testosterone. But at no time was I rude. The place was very unprofessional and took 2700 of my hard earned money. I only went back to them the second time because we needed the car and been without it too many days. I do not recommend this place. They were quick to take my money and gave no apologies for the mistake they made. I usually go to Automasters on mchenry in front of Burlington coat factory and never have a problem. I wanted to try aamco just to see how it was. A big NO NO. Take it from me crowslanding rd probably has better service than this place!!!! Do not go HERE!
I took my car to this shop to diagnos my transmission problem and they tell me i need a rebuild worth 2500$ which i couldnt believe i go back home check transmission my self change oil and oil filter on transmission all worth 30$ and the car is runing like a champ i will never trust these guys and will never take a car to them again
Not only do they overprice their work and parts, theyll sabotage your vehicle. I have physical proof they cut my thermostat. Of course theyll deny it, but the tool marks on the whats left of the part beg to differ.
This guy is a scam he wanted $3,000 to rebuild my transmission took the vehicle home open the drain pan repair $20 part took all of one hour transmission is good as new and runs better than ever not recommended to anyone dont do business with Aamco Modesto
While I was told an intial price for repairs the price of the finished work was much more then quoted. Plus other things start going wrong with the car after the repairs were completed.
Worse customer service ever. Very short with you and they act like its a burden on them that youre even there to begin with.
So glad I read the comments first.. I just saw a commercial and was thinking of taking my car her but nope.
Rip off and dont go there
Had them diagnose my air conditioner. Told them my window does not roll down there old it down anyway broke it and then would not even fix it Because they wouldnt make any money off of it is what they told me.
They had my car for 3 days and didnt even touch it, then when I said I would just take it they wanted to charge me storage fees.
Cheaper than going to a dealership but not by much. $330 to swap out a hose, and they wont let you bring the part. They make you buy their MASSIVELY overpriced parts.
SO FAR SO GOOD
