I had an appointment for an oil change at the Monrovia location at 2pm on 10/5. The oil change took over 2 hours, and when I started my car to leave there was an EPC light on, and the car barely started.Went back in the store, and the manager said that was impossible, because they “complete the full inspection before starting any service”.The car will now barely start or run.I took it to a different shop, and we discovered that the socket used to remove the oil filter housing has broken off of the wrench, and the crankshaft sensor is broken.Returned to the store with photos, and the manager offered to refund my oil change and replace the broken part. No apology, and I was told I should have brought it back to this store instead of somewhere else if I don’t want to pay for the repairs (OF THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSED) in the first place.Why would I bring my car back to the place that broke it, and then denied it without even checking????

The service was horrible, wish I could give no start. They did not have the parts they promised so I had to go back two times. They left their paper work handle/ bags hanging on my car when I drove off. The wise part, they lost my lugner and when had to pay A LOT of money at Toyota to get it replacedPlease don’t go there if u love ur car

My car was making a funny noise and it was the first place I could find on my way home. I went inside and it was about to close and the gentleman of the desk whose name was Octavio offered to come out and look at my car. He got on the floor and looked underneath my car to make sure that my tires were not coming apart and that there was nothing major that needed to be done. He was amazingly sweet and told me that he couldnt guarantee anything but at least I felt a little bit better driving back to Los angeles. Thank you Octavio!

Place us to have the worst customer service.. I was surprised on my last visit to buy windshield wipers, I found new people behind the counters who actually wanted to help. They put my wipers on and even removed the leaves that were stuck on the side of the hood.

The Pasadena Pep Boys store ran out of the materials that I was looking for book called The Pep Boys that was located in Monrovia and they had the materials. So I went to the Monrovia store and met a young lady by the name of Alex who was absolutely wonderful. Nacho wasnt bad though he pretty much an ounce my battery is dead on arrival at the Pasadena store but Alex got me across the finish line. Thanks guys for excellent customer service.

Horrible customer service. Had appointment in am to replace tires but when I arrived they said that they are booked and denied the fact that the appointment was scheduled even though I had a receipt. Anyway, I dropped the car and then in about 3 hours I received a text message that the car is ready for pick up. When I came back to the shop I was very disappointed because they even didn’t start working on my car. The statement was that they didn’t know how this message was generated and had we wait for a few more hours. It’s a first and last time I fix my car here.

5 stars for friendliness however i did have a negative experience with the actual service done to my car. Got an oil change here because of a $20 discount I found on line. Everything originally seemed fine and the guys even rotated my tires in the pattern that I preferred. But the next morning I woke up with a big oil stain on my driveway. This prompted me to check my oil level and saw that my level was way beyond the max level. I took my car back in and explained the problem. I was told that the oil plug gasket was not in good shape which caused the mess on my drive way. They also confirmed they had accidentally added 6 qrts of oil instead of the 5.4 that was required. An hour later, I had a new oil and a new gasket in my car and drove away. I was late for work and annoyed that the service was not done correctly the first time and upset about the big oil stain I now have on my drive way.

We have been there a few times and they are pretty good. They have a nice waiting area and the store is well kept. The employees help you quickly too. Only complaint thus far was a three hour oil change when I could have done it myself in thirty minutes.

Anytime you deal with auto parts stores, you will pay high dollar. The same item I bought, would be half at the hardware store. I dont normally use PepBoys. Not too long ago I had a problem with my car. They kept it a week, and could not fix the problem. They hire parts changers, not mechanics.

They have everything you need and are always helpful whenever I have visited this store. I needed wiper blades and they helped me right away and even installed them for me. The prices are pretty fair given that its a large chain store. The mechanic on duty is a nice guy but I think he can use a little help since he seemed to have his hands full yet still found the time to help me.

I had an appointment for an oil change at 1PM. When I went to the counter, the woman told me that I was the first of 3 people with a 1PM appointment, so I would be next. So I go sit in their waiting area. After waiting over an hour, I get up to check on the status of my car and am told Oh, they should be starting soon. what happened to being next?Meanwhile, a lady who came in half an hour after I did was already having her car worked on and she and I struck up a conversation. She didnt feel it was fair to me that I had been essentially bumped when she came in, only because a technician had just finished another car at the time. So she and I went back up to the counter. Keep in mind this is another 20 minutes after I was told they would be starting to work on my car, and my keys and paperwork were still sitting on the counter. The manager apologized and said the woman had written up the paperwork and forgotten to tell him, and said he would find someone to work on it.40 minutes later, my car is finally ready, 2 hours and 15 minutes after my appointment time. All for a simple oil change. To his credit, Rich, the manager comped the service (without my asking) and acknowledged that they messed up.But this place really needs to work on their customer service training. Never in the first hour+ that I was waiting was I told there would be a delay. If Id known, I wouldve gone and run some errands then come back later.

They don’t deserve one star. After waiting almost 12 hours for an oil change, their rep told me to pick up my car and come back tomorrow.I called at 8am in the morning to ask if they will be able to do an oil change. The guy told me just bring the car as early as you can, and they will take care of it. I showed up with my car within 10 minutes, and he told me it will be done. I called a few hours later to check on the status, and a few hours after that. They haven’t start with my car because they are busy. I called at 7pm to check because they close at 8pm, and I told the rep I have waited all day for a simple oil change. He kept saying it will be done by end of day. And according to him, his “end of day” is not 8pm, they may work late because they are “busy”. He laughed at me when I said I waited 11 hours for an oil change. He told me “the person who helped me in the morning is Richard, and he is the manager. Richard usually don’t tell customer an estimate time. He should have but I can’t do anything about it because he is my manager. but I always tell customers it will be done by end of day”. He continued, “you can pick up your car right now, and come back tomorrow morning.” Not only he blamed his own manager for their inconsistent services, he laughed at me, but also, he did not attempt anything to resolve the issue. He just trying to kick me out of the store so he won’t get blamed.I went ahead to pick up my car, it’s not very convincing that they are so “busy” when only 2 of their 8 garages had cars in them, in which one of the car has been at the same spot since morning. On the service counter, the Store Manager of Service put a sign says, “if you are not completely satisfied with the service call my cell.” I called and left a message last night. I still didn’t get a callback. They didn’t even have the curtesy to clean up after themselves, I found plastic and paper in my car that they are too busy to for.Store Manager, if you don’t mean it, don’t put it on your counter. It’s just unprofessional to lie to your customers. I have gone to this store for several years now, it was never this bad. You probably don’t really care to lose one customer because you are so “BUSY”.

I had a 8am appointment for a alignment and to get a tire patched. I got there I bit early. 15 mins of waiting with no one at the counter before someone shows up to check me in. One hour later they tell me my truck is too long for their alignment machine. A hour and a half and $19.98 later I get my truck back with the tire patched. 2 & 1/2 hour wait for a tire patch. If you have better things to do with your time as I did take your $$$ else where.

Stopped in early about 10 AM spoke to rich customer service poor seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Bought 2 tires took my number down told me he’ll call me when cars ready 15 mins later got a call asking for wheel lock key told him where it was. Asked for call back so I would know if He found it no call back. called 20 mins later said hasn’t had time to check. 1 and a half hours later tried calling to see if my car was done no answer drove there saw my car was parked who knows how long I would’ve waited if I didn’t drive up myself. Wouldn’t go to service dept again think I’ll just go to O Riley’s from now on for parts also.

This is the first time to go to Pep Boys Monrovia store for a oil change. Before go to the store, I did make a phone call, and asked if I could come in now for a oil change without an appointment, one of a manager said ok, till I got there about 20 minutes later, the same manager said, the time is their lunch hour(3pm), if you want to have an oil change, you need come back an hour later. When I got there at four, they said that, our mechanic is working on 4:30. I wait in the car for another 30 minutes. During the time I was there the manager comes and said to me, there is a hold for oil filter very easy to be breaking, if it is broken while they are doing the oil change, I need to pay other 35 dollars to buy a new one. The oil change is took more than 100 mins, but there only 2 cars in the shop during the two hours when I am waiting for oil change for my car.

On Tuesday morning I asked for an oil change and a replacement tire of any brand that would work. They waited 2 days for other shops to have a specific one according to the person I spoke with on Thursday (not even a tire that matches the one on the vehicle), promising me Tuesday and Wednesday it would be done tomorrow ASAP, we made sure the tire has been overnighted. So on the third day (Thursday morning) of them doing this, I asked if they had any other tires that were the same size and that would work, and they several in stock. I asked them to tell me a quote, which he responded same as the last to which I will soon find out if it is true. Thursday afternoon they called to let me know it was done, and then they asked if I wanted the oil change still to which I response, and they said they would call me back. I did get my car back about 2 hours after the call.

Called the store to check if they had a battery for my car but they never picked up the phone. As usual. They never answer.Guess what, i gave my business to OReillys Auto parts because they answered the phone right away.The battery prices and warranties are pretty much the same ($5 difference), so service is what made a difference.Never again Pep Boys. Id give them 0 stars if that was an option. Not recommended at all.

The last 2 times I went here they gave me the wrong item and are pretty slow even when there are very few customers. Today they told me my car takes a 24 inch wind shield wiper but after I bought it I checked and it was supposed to be 21 inches they exchanged it no problem

Avoid the service center. Ive never had a problem buying parts inside the store but apparently trying to have your oil changed is an impossible task. I called Wednesday and asked about coming after work at 5 pm and was told they only had one technician and probably couldnt get to me. thats fine. nobodies time was wasted. I came in the next day on my lunch break asking if I could leave my car and pick it up after work again. The guy told me he couldnt guarantee by five because there were other cars to get to. okay. again thats fine. I asked if I should make an appointment and he told me to drop my keys in the box early or come in early the next day. Alright, the next morning Im there at 8:45. I leave my car. All good. Grab an Uber to and from work. Arrive at Pep Boys almost 9 hours later at 5:25ish pm. The guy tells me they didnt get to me yet. What? He says they got busy with people who had appointments. What? Why didnt you set me up with an appointment the evening before when I asked about it? He told me it would probably be another hour. Not cool. Its an oil change and tire rotation not a complete overhaul. Ive had quicker and better service at those drive up Valvoline shops where you just wait in line in your car. I wasted $20 on Uber rides for nothing. I will gladly just go back right down the street to Wards where it might cost me a little more, but they are honest, friendly, and get things done.

They dont have all the basic tools for renting. Otherwise, for just shopping for auto supplies, not bad in comparison to other locations. They do seem to have more stuff in stocks and on the shelves. Cant speak for their auto repair service. Then again, if youre getting your car done their, dont think you care about young people listening to music loudly means less care and focus will go into your car. Trust is everything these days.

Omg Isidro is really good he has the best customer service in the store . My car battery had died and I didn’t know what to do. My good for nothing boyfriend told me to take my car to Pepboys and have them check my battery. I told Isidro that I had problems with battery and he smiled and said ” I’ll take of it”.I was so excited I’m not in to guys with braces but Isidro looks good with his braces he also has a nice smile. He also smells really good. He made me feel really comfortable

This place is horrible! I made an 11:30 appointment and was told to give them an hour or 2 at the most. I came back after 3 hours of not hearing anything and trying to kill time by walking around with my baby assuming they were spending extra time on my car only to find out that they had not even looked at it yet. How irresponsible and disrespectful! How do you do this to someone with a baby and not be honest about the wait times!

Although gentlemen at counter were nice the service/ wait time was poor. Went in for a tire change which turned out to be all four, I agreed, was told a 2 hour wait turned out to be over 3 hours. I had to cancel time with my granddaughter at Sante Fe park. No one came to me with an update, I kept having to check in and by the way no one at counter most of the time. I have used this Pepboys for service before and had same experience, I will not be a return customer. The guy that changed tires and did alignment worked very slow, I know as I observed his work ethic. Yup! HE GETS PAID BY THE HOUR....

I brought my vehical here last week to get a new belt. As i dropped my car off at 11:00 am I was told it should be ready by the end of the day. I did not recieve a call so I called THEM at 5:00pm (They close at 6:00pm on sundays) to find out if my car was ready to only find out the lady told me she was about to call me (Lie) and told me they didnt put on the belt because they found it could be my pully as well along with an AC leak at listed problems they said would cost $1,000 to fix as they still charged me $20 for inspection. Im glad they found other problems with my car but to not give me a call back to inform me and not even be able to Explain clearly what needed to be done was upsetting and a waste of my time. I Juat got my vehicle repaired by a True mechanic for for almost half the price with Free oil change as he laughed at the vehicle order I showed him from this pepboys. Waste of time, Do not have proper knowledge, and unloyal. Do not try to get your vehicle serviced hete.

I called the Pasadena store because they had my tire on sale, they told me the only store that had this tire was Monovia store I drove all the way there had to wait for tire while they told me that I wasnt me. Got they tire drove all the way back to have tire mounted and found out they billed me for the right tire but gave me the wrong one. Im really upset. So tomorrow I have to go back for the right tire if they give me half off for mounting it I will be happy if not I will be throughly upset. So I will reserve judgement until tomorrow
