We bought a used car. They took it in and made all necessary repairs and adjustments. We had to change the axle and coolant pump and they did a marvelous job in a very timely manner. The team was very nice, helpful, showed and explained to us all the ins and outs. They tested everything, took the car for a test drive, and made sure the car was road worthy. I highly recommend that place.

This morning I got a flat tire near the Pep Boys on 6000 south state street in Murray. A nice guy stopped to help me with my spare but one of the lug nuts wa partially stripped. So we drove to the parking lot next to Pep Boys where Jordan came over to help get that lug nut off. He went above and beyond his job to walk over to help while he was busy working on other vehicles. He also offered to fill my spare for free when they were done changing my tire. I am definitely a going to be using that location more often!! Thank you so much!!
My experience here has been a roller coaster. For oil changes I have had generally good experience. But for service it has been a nightmare compared to any other place Ive been. Im now going to be going elsewhere for service and maybe oil changes too. During both repairs, they broke something mid repair and then proceed to explain how it wasnt there fault. One of the times they made us pay for the damages, but the other time they didnt (They had a good employee in at the time who isnt usually at that location). None the less, you get service done and they will always overcharge or find something that NEEDS to be fixed(I later got quotes from other mechanics with better ratings for cheaper deals... wont make that mistake again). I recommend going else were
I went to the Murry location at 9319 S 700E in Murry. I needed my air conditioner recharged. Nelson was amazing. He was able to fit my car in right then for the service. Nelson was extremely kind, friendly and quite knowledgeable about all the services that they provide. He explained exactly what they were going to do to my car and exactly how much it was going to cost. It only took one hour for the entire job. I was thrilled!! AND the price was exactly what he stated in his estimate. I would highly recommend this location of Pep Boys!! Again, I was beyond thrilled with the service, the price and the kindness! Had a wonderful experience. After a bad experience at the west valley shop the manager Nelson took me in and took great care of me at this location. He not only redid my pressure test from the other location but quotedand fixed my car completely then proceeded to give me 40.00 off and truly changed my complete outlook. He even examined a few other things and discussed them for me and gave me a year long warranty for what he did. He made a customer for life. I had went to another location (west valley) where the manager was new and my pressure test quote in the system he couldnt find. He simply sent me away because he couldnt find the quote and didnt know what the results of the pressure test were and told me he would call me the next day and never did. I will be going to the state street pep boys for all my car needs and would recommend it for anyone that needed honest work, good prices and above and beyond care.

They dont seem to do walkins. Looks like they do a lot of good work when you have an appointment for car service. No in-store customer accessible items for sale, no one at the front desk.

Nelson the manager was very helpful. I was very pleased by the knowledge and the discussion we had about the repairs my Subaru required. Even though my bill was over $1500 I actually felt good about the repairs and also about the service guys that completed the repairs.
Pep Boys chain but feels like a local mechanic youve used for years. This was probably the best service Ive ever gotten. This was mostly because of the manager, Nelson. He took his time explaining what they would do in advance, then clearly explained what they did, and he was about as personable and professional as they come.He mentioned he was newer to that location, so Id invite past low reviews to give them another shot. Regardless, this is where I will be going from now on.
Just came in to ask for a service, just saw the store in passing. Saw 4 different employees, never greeted by anyone. Gave them a little while because they looked understaffed. After about 20 minutes standing around, still no interaction even though there were two employees in line of sight the whole time. Gave up and left when two more people showed up and got the same treatment. Im sure Ill get a canned response below. All I wanted to know is if you install customer provided rear brakes.
My Grandmother had car problems and Nelson was very cordial, efficient and took the time to listen to her. And their prices were more than fair. Thank you for taking care of her car for us!
More concerned with CYA than taking care of their customers. I came in with a flat and left with a flat 7 hours later. They could not be bothered to improve my situation because of the liability to them. It passed through 3 of their employees to get to that point. Why would I ever buy tires from a company like that?
I had Nelson and his crew at the Murray, UT Pep Boys look at my AC unit on my truck. Nelson was awesome. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and honest. He diagnosed the problem and didnt try to pressure sell me. I will take my vehicle repairs to Nelson any and every time.
Made an appointment for a free ac inspection which says on the website that they will check the ac pressure. Walk in at 950 and the guy says it will cost $65. I pull out my phone and show him where it says it’s free. He checks with the manager and they say they will do it. Not sure if they were just trying to rip me off because I’m a woman. Very sexist In my opinion. Then he tells me there is someone in front of me so I will have to wait an hour plus whatever time it would take them to check it. I come back in an hour talk to another service person and they tell me there are 3 cars in front of me and it will take an hour and a half! What a JOKE! I got up early on a Saturday morning and drag my two small children there because I made an appointment for them to try and rip me off and then make me wait 3 hours. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be ripped off and wait for hours wasting your time even though you go through the trouble of making an appointment and showing up on time.
I came here to get a set of brand new tires and the manager there helped me out. He was awesome. Took care of everything I needed. These guys really do a good job and I even watched them work my car and it seemed they were doing a great job! Keep up the great work.
Excellent!! The new manager Nelson and the new staff are by far the best. I came in really upset about my car still not being fix but the previous manager and stuff. When I walked into pep boys the Atmosphere was completely different and the stuff and manager were there to greet me on the spot. I was still really upset at the time my attitude and demeanor were not the best. I told them that I wanted to speak to the manager Nelson the new manager had told me he was the new manager of the store. He asked what he could do to help me I was not too nice and I let him know what was going on and why I was upset. He was very patient with me very sympathetic and completely understanding. He fixed my car and wrote somebody’s wrong. And he told me I will never have to deal with somebody taking a vantage me again. Nelson has completely turned this whole thing around for me and I will continue coming to Pep Boys only because of the staff here and the manager. They also explain everything to me instead of just doing things without my knowledge or me completely understanding. So I want to send out a big shout out to Nelson and the stuff I appreciate you guys so much for fixing my car and making this a better experience for me.

I lost a headlight while on vacation visiting family. I went to several parts stores to get my light replaced and after not finding the light or having the business tell me they could order me a light that would take 3 to 5 days & several hundred dollars, I found this location that had a light on site & were able to replace it the same day. I was thrilled to receive help and great customer service from this location. Great job guys!!! Oh yea, they saved me 💰 too.

Nelson went above and beyond for me and my vehicle. It was a complicated job on a Volkswagen but he did amazing. Nelson and Blake updated me often on where they were at and was detailed in what they were doing. They were able to fix a long time problem with my brakes and did extra work to make sure my car was safe to drive. It’s one of the only places that will talk to me about the details without trying to simplify the problems. I enjoyed my experience here and will be returning.
WORST PLACE EVER, I bought tires online & needed them installed. This place took 3 hours to tel me it was $576 to get them swapped out. They couldn’t take my lug nuts off lol BIG O TIRES IN WVC charged $73 and got me in and out in 30 minutes. Why the $500 difference? Just say you can’t or don’t want to help your customers smh
If I could get away with rating them a zero stars I would. They don’t deserve even 1 star. Poor service. Had a flat tire on a Sunday and had to get home. Was stuck in SLC. But they wouldn’t stop to fix 1 flat tire. How long does it take to fix a flat? It wasn’t like we were asking for a whole lot. They wanted us to leave our tire there all day and hang out in SLC when we had to get home. Pathetic.

Almost a perfect experience. Minimal wait time, good price for an oil change, brakes checked for free (with tire rotation). They left an oily red shop rag in my car, though. No biggie.
It’s hard to find a shop you trust, but Pepboys definitely solved that challenge. Especially Nelson, the service manager. I had this shop work on my Nissan Xterra for some really weird fluid leaks and other maintenance. Pepboys never once disappointed.For starters, Nelson knows his cars. He came to check on the leaks and issues I had and was able to give a near perfect diagnosis right from the parking lot. He prepared me for what I’d expect and set all the right expectations.Next, he kept me really informed through a transparent process while they worked on my Xterra. My issues were complex so they had to keep her for a week but I also had a lot of work done. What surprised me was just how detailed and contextual Nelson was anytime he had an update. Even going so far as describing the technical nature of how specific parts operated together. I never felt like I wasn’t in good hands.Finally, this shop goes out of their way to find a solution for you. In my case, I needed to replace a part that’s no longer manufactured or even sold by dealers. Their solution was a retrofit (oil cooler) and that work was done within a day! Costs are reasonable, especially remembering that you get what you pay for.Nelson even remembered me by name and number when I called one day. If this isn’t a trustworthy, transparent, quality shop, I really don’t know what would be. Pepboys made a new lifelong customer. If you’re concerned about finding a shop that’s knowledgeable and trustworthy, now you found one! (And this is coming from someone with two project cars and knows a thing or two about cars)

Today I had a flat tire. We all know how aggravating car problems are. I went into Pep Boys in Murray, Ut. I was greeted by Blake. He did an good look over and first assessment of my car. Once they got the car back him and his team found some bigger issues. He was very honest and told me how they could help. Once I came into pick the car up his other associate Reed got me squared away and on the road again. The tire service was 5 star but so was the customer service. Both Reed and Blake were personable, fun to chat with, respectful, and kind. I’ll definitely go back to them for all my tire needs! Thank you Pep Boys!

Tues, 8am... not off to a great start. Created an appointment online for brand new tires. Its now passed the start/opening time and the door is still locked. I wanted to go to the Sandy location being closer to me, but the website would not let me proceed with the tires I wanted. So far I see why this location has a lower rating. And an employee is vaping in the shop, alone or not, that seems disrespectful to me and the company.UPDATE: Service went smooth for news tires and oil change, completed in approx 2 hrs. Bumped up my rating because the employee that helped me in front was kind and prompt on getting me through the process, and allowed me to add an oil change on the fly.
They were very customer focused. They were very clear with what needed to be done and how much it would cost. They gave me options of the oil and windshield wipers with prices I could choose from. They even filled up my coolant reservoir as a courtesy.

These guys are awesome! I used to only come in because I had a mechanic that worked here and that I trusted. He left to become a cop which left me unsure whether or not I still want to go through pepboys. A year later I am searching for a catalytic converter with California EPA standards, and if you know anything about catalytic converters, THEY ARE PRICEY! Pepboys offered the best deal. With the part and labor it was cheaper than going through the dealership for just the part.Stephen worked on my car and did an excellent job! He left the car as it came in, it passed emissions but then came back with the same code. I brought the car back in to only see 2 essential employees busting their tail. Stephen talked to me a bit saying it may be the O2 sensors and after leaving my car into their trusting hands I was off.They call me later explaining everything they did to resolve the issue to come and find out the other converter is out. Jordan walked me through what they did, and gave me a solid price for the cost of fixing the issue. Unfortunately, the car is not worth the work, however, I am very pleased with their service. I really want to see this company succeed and through my own experience, their prices are the best, especially for service. Customer service is phenomenal. Honest workers doing their best work.

I had been going to this location for years until the quality and service started to dramatically drop off. I recently needed a new battery and decided to give Pep Boys a try again. Jordan Dennison, Service Manager, was very professional and helpful. He and his staff were friendly and not pushy. I ended up with a new battery, and 4 new tires which I desperately needed, all at a great price and everything was done while I waited. Jordan has turned this store completely around for the better.

Donnie and the two techs he was working with today were amazing! I got a flat on the freeway, managed to get my spare on, but still had about 50 miles to drive and didnt want to drive on the spare that far or at freeway speeds. After being turned away from 2 Walmart tire centers (one was closing 1.5 hours early and the other had 0 tire techs), Donnie and his team came to the rescue. He got me set up with a new tire and got me back on the road really fast. Even though it was just before closing on a Sunday evening, they were still so kind and helpful.

Their sloppy work might lead to expensive repairs. Three dashboard lights turned on when I left their parking lot. Probably because the main engine air hose was completely unplugged. If sand or dirt got in there during the short time I drove it, that will be an expensive repair later. After talking to the manager/Cortney and her manger/Jordan, they offered 15% on an oil change. That means they dont care that I might have a very costly engine repair in the future because of their carelessness. I dont have time or money for that kind of service.
Im not even sure where to begin, Jordan, was so incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with. I would for sure go back again and again knowing I will get honest work done and not get screwed over by other shops and pay more than I need to. He treated me fairly and was really easy to work with. He listened to what was going on with my tire, since I blew it on a pot hole. It didnt take very long to get my new tire and im incredibly happy with it. Thank you so much for saving the day Jordan and crew! I would gladly recommend this shop to friends and family any day!

This location for Pep Boys in Murray has the best crew for service and repair.Jordan, was very courteous and pleasant to work with, he quickly had his team identify all issues with my truck.They even discovered issues that were overlooked or done improperly by other mechanics.I scheduled an appointment to have all repairs completed by his service department. A few hours later, my truck was ready to roll again, although this time I have peace of mind.Not only did the repairs get completed, the cost was better than any dealer and they even identified issues that the dealer missed.Thank you for helping me get back on the road, and my truck running in great condition.Best service shop I have ever been to. I am sad to see this store is closing. I have enjoyed the store so much better since the new store manager Donnie took over. The old mgr was horrible! This store could have been saved if you would have gotten rid of the jerk a long time ago. All the current employees are great.
I scheduled an appointment online for a Sunday morning and dropped my car off the evening before. I received a call in the morning indicating that they show my appointment but they do not have a tech scheduled for the day and would not be able to get to it until Monday. I expressed my frustration and explained that I would need my car Monday and thats why I scheduled the way I did. I told her I would try to get something figured out. Courtney texted me a few minutes later and told me she was able to get a tech to come work on my car. In the end they were able to determine there was not a problem with the vehicle and cleared the check engine code. When I arrived to pick up my car they handed me my keys and told me I was all set. Not only did they bring someone in to make sure I was taken care of but they did not charge me. Courtney was very friendly and professional and made sure I was taken care of. I started the day extremely frustrated and ended the day a customer for life. Thanks Courtney!
Eric was wonderful. I was in a bad situation had a flat on a Saturday after 5pm. I couldnt find any shop that would replace the tire that late. I had a party later that night and needed a vehicle to go shopping etc. After several attempts at other shops I called Pep boys. They were great from the start and offered a willingness to help. Eric gave great customer service, explained everything, was nice and personable and gave me the best price he could. I would definitely recommend.
NEVER EVER, EVER EVER again. I dont advise anyone taking their car to get serviced here, ever, for anything.I made an appointment first thing in the morning when they opened(8am). I get there and none of their service techs show up until 8:30. And then they didnt even touch my car until 9. Then at 9:30 Im told I need two new tires. I came in to get one repaired. Cool I knew I was due for new tires soon anyway. So I agreed. I asked how long it was going to take because I needed to take my son to school and the lady said half an hour. Great that works for me. Literally waited until 11:15. This makes me mad because when I called and made the appt. they giggled over the phone and said theres NO WAY it would take that long if I came first thing in the morning.I only had one tire on at this point, I left to take my son to school. I said I would be back after 2 when he needed to be picked up. They called at 2:15 asking that I come back I asked how long it would take because we have plans for the evening seeing that its HALLOWEEN, the guy laughed at said 15-20 minutes TOPS. I get there and they tell me they have to order the tire from their Sandy store... WHAT?! Why would you even call and tell me to come back if you dont even have the tire?!?! Here I am 4:45pm still waiting. . WTF PEP BOYS! I wish I could give 0 stars also a tech split open his face during work and was forced to continue to work... hmmm thats great management to be working for. This location seriously needs some help.

The store employee was dead set on putting the new tires on the back of the car. I wanted the front because its front wheel drive, if I have a blowout, etc. He refused my reasoning and THEN said it was illegal to do Only 2 new tires must be put on the rear. Its state law. Dork Auto. No wonder they get a stereotypical image.

Great, efficient service. I came in with all my kids (asleep) in the car with me. My brake lights werent working. They only needed new bulbs, but they were extremely quick and so inexpensive! Tommy was very kind and accommodating. Cant say enough good things about our great experience!
My car battery was about to die. I got to Pep boys in Murray an hour before closing. Jordan, the manager told me he never turns customers away and proceeded to get me a new battery and get me out of there in about 30 minutes. It was a great experience. I went in to get some tests done on my car because it kept dying and i had no idea why. it took a while for them to find out what was draining the power, and i’m 30 weeks pregnant so it’s very uncomfortable for me to sitting in one place for so long. Jordan was wonderful and made sure i was taken care of the whole time. i will definitely return for any future problems i might run into with my vehicle!
I had a fairly good experience at the Pep Boys in Murray. My battery was almost completely dead and I needed a new one so I went in about 30 minutes before closing. They helped me find the right one for my car, but it did seem slightly overpriced for the make and model. I drive a 2010 Ford Focus. Despite the high price of the battery, they installed it for me completely free of charge. The employees were nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for quick service and reasonably priced products.
Service Dept: I do not recommend. (I went to another Pep Boys location and that location did not have the same problems) The guy was totally unsympathetic when he informed me that they are too busy because the techs are not available every day, and leave early when they do work. Be prepared to leave your car so they can fix it at their convenience. Mine was a 10 min diagnostic and they said I would have to wait 2 or 3 hours but I could leave it. I declined. When I offered to come in on a weekday, they said the tech leaves daily at 3:30 to go to school. I applaud him furthering his education. However this means for the customer that I should come in around 12 or 1 and I would have to take a half day off work so this guy can take a half day every day. The tech was not at all bothered by turning me away.This is a common work ethic that I have seen in Utah: it doesnt matter that our customer service is barely adequate. We do what we want not what is needed. Suck it up.This will not change unless the people of this state start being assertive. In the meantime, places like this will continue to operate under the impression that everything is great because people here dont think that this type of customer service is unacceptable. Also, they dont want to look rude by complaining. How will anything improve if nobody even says something us wrong?
Jordan was very helpful getting my car in quick for an oil change and had it done when I asked. He helped me to get a coupon mix up figured out. I have also had this location fix my flat tire for FREE! I really like this new management!

Horrible service, I took in my car to get new tires. They called me later that day stating I needed about 10 things fixed with my car. They said most of those things were very important! NONE OF THEM WERE TRUE. They saw me as a girl that doesnt know anything about cars and tried to sell me anything they could.I took my car in to my regular mechanic and I told him to give me a list of things that needed to be fixed so I can compare the two. My car did not have ONE SINGLE ISSUE THEY SAID IT DID. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU!!I took my car to get an oil change 2 weeks prior to Midas and they said that they looked at my oil and there was none!! and it looked like Midas didnt do my oil change or put in a new sticker.. I knew IT WAS A LIE, because I saw the sticker with my own eyes. I told them that I had seen the sticker and that it was really weird and to double check... they came back and said oh you were right they had done your oil change...

Had a new alternator replaced here. They did a great job and was fast and friendly. This was my first time using pep boys, so I was initially worried. They do have a warranty on their parts and labor. I will give them a call next time I need my car serviced.

Out of ten bays nine of them are empty and it still takes nearly three hours to change a set of tires. If you want it are looking for timely service steer clear of this place!
Terrible customer service skills. Also, I went in for an oil change and within 5 minutes of leaving I had a flat tire which is too much of a coincidence for me. When I called in about it, they didnt sound like they cared AT ALL. Just basically said that theyre closing soon and try calling back tomorrow. Meanwhile, Im stranded with a flat tire when I had to go meet a new client. Never going back to this pep boys. If I didnt have a prepaid maintenance plan already with pep boys I wouldnt go to any of their locations and just take my business elsewhere completely.I ended up having to take work off the next day to patch up the tire myself. I didnt want to bother calling back and dealing with pep boys again.

Are first impressions important? Because you need to work on yours. Walked in the store today and two people were helping a lady. First words: Ill be with you in a minute. Oh, ok. Saying hello really must not be that important to you. No problem. Ill wait. So, I go to the cell phone accessories aisle for my car. The two continue helping the lady. For the next 10 minutes. Whats even funnier (worse), is the entire time Im in the store, a manager or employee has a conference call on speaker so that I can hear everything! Are you kidding me???? What is going on here? For the record; I believe it was about 1 pm, and there was NO ONE else in the store. Now, maybe it wasnt a manager, and maybe he or she was just listening to the company report, but either way you failed today.
I bought my tires there two years ago in October and I had the two year or 23,000 mile warranty on them. Well I went to Pep Boys in Sandy and they said I needed new tires. I said I think that they are under warranty because it has been less then two years and I dont drive that much. I went to the Pep Boys on State Street and they told me that I was still under warranty and that I needed new tires. I asked for new tires and they told me that they dont make my tires anymore. I would have to buy new tires for about $430.00 and I am not doing that. Ill never go back there again.The manager reached out to me and he offered me a peace offering. He offered me a very fair price for the same tires. Im going to say no because the tires arent worth it. The manager tried his best and I give him that.
I have always received 110% from the staff and the quality of work at Pep Boys in Murray. My most recent experience was just a few weeks ago, and ONCE AGAIN, Kim went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with their service, but most important......Safe. Dave, Ron and Eric also shinned and Pep Boys should be very proud to have these 4 on their staff. I came in for an oil change and to get my sway bar links replaced. It turned into a bigger job than I thought it was because of the parts being corroded but they got it done as fast as was possible and made sure I was taken care of. They even stayed later than closing time. Ill be taking my truck back here.

Ive dealt with Pep Boys in California since 1956. I have had service done at the Murray shop since about 1985. I have found them to totally honest. They give professional service, and have good prices.
Awful experience. Do not recommend to anyone. Extremely unprofessional. Took my truck in at 2:00 pm on Saturday just for a used vehicle inspection (usually takes 30 minutes) but it ended up taking 2.5 hours!! After an hour and a half I asked them how long it would be and they realized they hadnt even started it! The kid took the keys from the front desk and said he would get right on it. When they finally finished at 4:30, I realized they had a kid who couldnt have been older than 18 do the inspection. All he said to me was heres your keys. He didnt tell me one thing about the inspection so I had to yank the answers out of him! Didnt write anything up for me or give very much detail about it. And after all of that I still was charged full price. I will never take my business to this location and I am telling my friends and family to do the same.

Was lied to by 3 people including the Manager. Saying I needed an engine diagnostic to find out what’s wrong with my car because “their equipment was broke”. YOU SELL CODE READERS! Don’t lie and tell me that it’s broken! Then they had the nerve to tell me that my code was for an oil change. That wouldn’t be a check engine light it would be a service light!!! And I did the oil change myself 3 weeks ago and haven’t even passed 3k miles since then. When I checked the oil upon pickup after refusing to let them work on it, the oil was totally fine! SHAWN and the manager are complete liars just after stealing from people that don’t know about cars. BEWARE!!!
I had purchased my Vehicle (Toyota Rava4) at the end of December 2013 from Larry H. Miller Toyota in Murray (who I would NEVER recommend purchasing anything from), and had nothing but problems with it!!!! :(I had taken it back to Larry H. Miller Toyota, due to the fact they sold me a CERTIFIED vehicle with an extended warranty that had nothing but ongoing problems, regarding my alignment and parts that had affected the alignment.PEP BOYS in Murray Utah, are extremely professional, efficient and truly cared about my safety with the problems that were presented to them. Thank goodness for MATT whos the service manager for Pep Boys in Murray and has 15 years of being a specialist with Chrysler. He professionally diagnosed the problem after looking at the unethical initial report that Larry H. Miller Toyota gave me and wasnt even the problem that was stated in the initial report by Larry H. Miller. For that reason and the efficient review of what the problem really was… Saved me hundreds of dollars and reoccurring issues with my vehicle!!! The caring and professional nature of MATT and his team has utterly sold me in being an honorable customer with Pep Boys in Murray forever and ever!!! I have not had further issues with my alignment nor the wearing of my tires after having my vehicle fixed by MATT and his team at Pep Boys in Murray!!! :)MATT has even followed up with phone calls to make sure the issue was resolved. Quick service. Got me in after two other Pepboys couldn’t without an appointment. Jordan was very helpful in finding me a coupon that was better than the one I brought in. Only thing to improve is that I asked for the tires to be rotated and they felt it didn’t need to happen, but I would of have still liked it to happen to ensure they wear evenly.
The guy who checked us in was nice, but our car never made it into the garage. We waited for an hour and a half after our appointment was set and ended up just leaving. I made an appointment 1 week before to take my car in, but they didnt seem to care that I had an appointment set up. In store staff was nice, but thats about it.
I went in for a check engine light evaluation and diagnostic. Fast and Friendly service. Matt and Tricia were very helpful. I was working and I had to stop because my vehicle started making funny noises and my check engine light came on, they worked me right in. It was great. I will definitely be going here again.
My vehicle is my office for my job. I got a flat tire while I was working and was very busy. They got my flat fixed extremely quickly and even swapped my spare for me. Everyone I dealt with was very courteous and professional. Thank you!!!
