Do yourself a huge favor and go to any other dealer than Secor. I purchased my very first brand new Subaru just over a year ago and it was in the service department several times for the same issue in a 6 month period. The owner himself said that his service department was not qualified to fix my brand new car and left me hanging. Thankfully, I was smart enough to take it to a very reputable dealer who diagnosed and repaired it quickly and efficiently. You were correct Mr. Secor...your team is not qualified. All of the Secor staff members I dealt with should be ashamed of themselves...they sent me on many goose chases to purchase several generic cords for my apple phone and vehicle car play. It was such a simple fix...a FAULTY USB port...SHAME ON THEM!! I will never ever recommend them to anyone for all they put me through. Looks like Im forced to give 1 star on this review in order to post it.

This Subaru Dealership is the only Subaru Dealership I recommend. Ordered a 21 STI and the process went very smooth. Due to chip shortage had to wait a few weeks but Dan provided me regular updates on the STI until it finally arrived and sent me off with a full tank. I highly recommend anyone interested in purchasing a Subaru stop by Secor Subaru in New London and talk to Dan. Dan is the Man!

Very disappointed in the service department at SECOR Subaru. Twice weve brought our car in for a recall service and twice weve had to wait over 8 hours for the service to be completed even though we were told it would only be 1-2 hours. Both times our appointments were for 8:30 in the morning and both times we have to get there just before they close to pick up our car that we dropped off when they opened. Both times we were given the excuse that they were short staffed with technicians. So if thats the case then what happened to the people who had later appointments? Is it because we choose not to wait that we get bumped to the end of the line? Very annoying and rude. Well be taking our car to a different dealer from now on

The timing to finance my new 2021 Crosstrek Hybrid wasnt ordinary so finding a Sales person to listen to my car needs was Extraordinary and deserves 5 stars experience.Rob Dupont, the internet salesperson was totally attentive to finding this particular car during unusual circumstances. While we heard on the news, hurricane Ida had caused havoc, I felt her fury in losing my 2018 Crosstrek Limited w/15000 miles driven. It was truly not the best timing for finding this car in my NY area. I reached out to Secor in New London, Ct and from the minute I explained my unusual situation, Rob had given me Hope for what I referred to as a rainbow. Rob put the wheels in motion, so to speak and searched out my new car. Over the course of a few weeks, I was able to place a refundable deposit which reassured me due to the tardiness of receiving my Payoff check from my Ins. company for my totaled car from the Ida. Heres another piece to the extraordinary part, Rob not only found one but was able to receive my new car in the midst of the infamous chip shortage. It was a team effort at Secor Subaru as I heard the good news that my new car would arrive early October with the assistance of his sales manager. I was given a rainbow through my storm.As I mentioned, it was a team effort at Secor Subaru located in New London, Ct. There were several others that made my financing a new 2021 Crosstrek Hybrid Limited possible. For all the effort given to me not only from Rob Dupont internet Sales, but Steve, General Sales manager, Dan, who had taken quality time to explain the mechanics of driving a Hybrid, and lastly, Kevin in Finance were all so instrumental in this finance purchase. Thank you, Secor Subaru, I was given a rainbow through my storm.

Update:I was able to resolve a matter after a little over a year. Unfortunately it took a poor google review to get the attention of someone to assist.Paul Holden was very helpful and the issue was able to be resolved. I have updated my review as the sales process was very streamlined and professional. As was the finance process originally.I have been trying to get in touch with their finance manager for a year (emailed and voicemails) regarding a refund for my gap coverage I never used after receiving a letter from their finance company. I’ve received a few answers at the beginning saying they’d look into it and now they just don’t answer.Sales team was great. Beyond that, it’s not worth it.

I had a tire that kept going flat for over a year. I was pretty sure it was due to a corroded wheel rim. Another auto service sold me new tires (which I probably needed anyway), but that didn’t solve the problem. I finally took it to Secor Subaru and they smoothed the rim and fixed the problem. It’s so nice to drive for weeks without the low tire pressure icon lighting up. Thanks!

They installed a new battery and told me to drive MORE than once per week. This will be very difficult for me. I was not told this when I bought this car. Obviously it is not a good choice for me.I need a reliable car that lets ME decide when and IF I want to drive.I want to be able to drive 2 or 3 times per month. I have a new 2019 Outback that needs to be driven 8 to 10 times per month. Im told to just let it run, not drive. So Im getting 15 mpg now.Maybe I should have bought the Mercedes.

The prices at Secor Subaru have always been absurdly high. Most recently my elderly mother went to get her Tire patched for a slight leak and they wanted to charge her $850 to replace all of the tires which are all in good condition and told her that if they did not do this her transmission would blow these are a bunch of liars and children working here dont believe anything they say and dont trust them

I took home a new Crosstrek today and had a great sales experience with Wayne. It took a few days longer than originally thought to get the car in due to COVID and inclement weather so they let me use a loaner car to fill in the time gap. Wayne was great at explaining all of the options and going over all of the features with me. I never felt pressured and am very happy with my overall Secor experience so far.

UPDATED AS OF 10/19/19Edit: After further inspection, the car is missing 2 headlight covers and bumper reinforcement foam fell off and was blocking the front lower grill, risking the car from overheating.Dealership owner Charlie Secor has not communicated with me since the original incident. Lied to me just to get me out sight. FULL STORY BELOW!Brought my 18 Subaru STi to this service center for a TSB/Recall for Headlight Replacements. After 5 days of visiting the dealer to get the job done on the 5th visit the job took place and the quality of work ended up being BEYOND absurd, front bumper was installed horribly wrong, damaged, Headlights didnt align at all, they didnt even install the light bulbs back into the new units either. Simply a rushed job from start to finish...The Service Manager John Donovan, came outside the service center to lie about the job, insult me, disrespect me, and blow me off after I pointed out the poor quality of workmanship by his Master Tech. This man lacks integrity and should not be the face of this shop.Master Tech workmanship was beyond poor, Installed everything wrong, didnt double check his work, nor inspected the lights to be working...TWICE.The Service Adviser Amanda was AWESOME, She did her job right and I am pleased with her performance. She did her job right from start to finish, she also shows a lot of potential and could easily run the service department as the Service Manager.After this JOKE of customer service by John Donovan & His Master Tech, I had to deal with the owner of the dealership Charlie Secor, who had to keep the car an additional 5 days to get the car 100% again. He had to go through an embarrassment as he thought the car was done.After I paid another visit, and I inspected the car, I found another set of bulbs missing. AGAIN, the master tech failed to double check his work. I had to come back the next day, for a total of 10 Days for a 1.5HR job.The car was done 100% and It was delivered by the owner himself, Charlie Secor.Charlie is a great person, being in the business for a long time and cares about his brand and customer base. We had an informal meeting about all of this and I expressed my thoughts about this entire experience and I came up with a positive solution for the wasted time and headaches, I will wait for him to come through with his word.**This Review will get updated if anything changes** - Update made 10/19/19 listed on top.

Ive been there several different times and have sent people down to the parts department to get parts for me and every single time the parts department is super rude and unhelpful. Ive had them tell me that they dont have a part in stock that I know that they do because I have the ability to check their inventory. Im not going to waste time driving down to New London just to find out that they dont have it. so I checked their inventory to make sure that they have the part that I need and I go down to pick it up in person and Ive been told multiple times that they dont have it or they cant find it and when I tell them that their inventory says they have it and can they please look then they look for it and find it. If your looking for a nice helpful parts department go to holmgren or valenti. At least those guys act like they want to help you and it isnt a major inconvenience for them to do their job.

We dealt with the dealership first on the phone to find the Subaru we wanted. Dan got it done for us. He was great on the phone, motivated, and followed through with us. When we went to the dealership to pick up our car, we test drove and just signed the paperwork. It was that easy. I got a good vibe from the whole team. I was treated respectfully and everyone was professional. Dan demonstrated all the cool safety features in my car. He even stood directly behind the car and asked me to back up to show me how confident he was in the backup safety breaking technology (I couldnt do it, I hit the break). Anyway, he even answered the phone at 7:30 pm on a Friday night before July Fourth -- AFTER we bought the car -- to help us answer some questions. Mike and Kevin were great too.

Had a friend contact them with the car I wanted, they had it ready to see/test at the start of our meeting. Got me a loan within an hour (went to lunch and came back). They dealt with the license plates and had it ready to take home before the end of the business day (entire process was only a few hours). Im sure the fact that I knew the exact car I wanted before I got there helped, but was impressed by how quickly everything was processed!

I stopped by without an appointment because my low tire pressure light was on. Amanda, my service rep took care of me right away. She checked the tires and suggested a system diagnostic. After a short time the good news was ...tires ok. But one indicator was not functioning.Overall it was a very nice experience. I was very pleased.

It took awhile to get an appointment, however, after addressing my problem with power steering, they immediately troubleshooted my issue without charging me as well as conducted maintenance on the recalls. They also washed my car and vacuumed it. I always was skeptical about dealerships but these guys are legit and only want the best for you and your vehicle. I highly recommend than for your routine services, because they give honest multi point inspections free of charge.

Emily Mara assisted me in purchasing my Subaru Legacy in January 2016. I genuinely cannot imagine the experience could have been any better. I never felt like I was being sold anything. My experience was she was truly a consultant and advisor to guide & assist me in the selection of a car, its features and financing. In my experiences those words were true descriptors of Emilys focus and professionalism and not simply a come on euphemism Ive too frequently encountered elsewhere. Buying my car I had no problems. All my problems are with the service department. First off, every time my car went into this shop for repairs, they either never called me when my car was ready or didnt have the parts for the repairs and didnt inform me. Second, I recently had to have major repairs done on my outback because of subpar service. During my last tire rotation two of my lug nuts were not put back on my tire, the my axles were blown due to apparent tampering with the seals on it, and they put new brake pads on old rotors before I had even purchased the vehicle. I will not be returning to this shop and I recommend anyone buying a used vehicle from secor to have another mechanic look at it.

We purchased a new Legacy from Evert at Secor just a couple weeks ago, and the experience could not have been better! It took just a few minutes to see how professional and knowledgeable he was after he drove up in a beautiful car that exactly matched my needs. Made an appointment days in advanced to get broken ac/heater diagnostics. I was woken up to a phone call at 8am on a Saturday, 1 1/2 hours before my scheduled appointment, saying they don’t have diagnostics techs on call for the day the schedule was made for. Watch out. Simple errors or miscommunication make you feel unappreciated and undervalued as a customer.

Sales staff was excellent. Finance department is excellent. Service is terrible. We bought our car 2 months ago and still no rain guards. Hen they told us to bring it in my wife sat there for 1.5 hours to find out there still didnt have them in stock yet. I was a first time car buyer and it was easy to get overwhelmed with remembering everything I should and shouldnt do. But these guys were amazing. As soon as I walked in, they treated me very well and were absolutely straightforward. Ive had my car for a couple of months now and Ive had no unpleasant surprises. They showed me all the safety reports, no hassle, along with anything else I asked for. They did not hassle me into buying, they did not strong arm me into adding any costs or signing papers right away. I talked with Steve throughout my experience and I suspect if all car salesmen were like him, people would have just as pleasant an experience as I did. When it came to any decision, he would say, You dont have to decide now, go home, sleep on it, talk it over, and well discuss it more the next time youre here. Id been to several car dealerships before going to Secor Subaru and it felt the most honest out of all of them. I would, without a doubt, buy a car from them again.

I went to Secor Subaru to test drive the Ascent and the Forester, due to my car being totaled in a crash, so I was already stressed from that situation. When I walked in I was not attached by multiple sales people. Paul Westermeyer introduced himself and from that point I was so comfortable. He gave me the information I needed on both vehicles. After the test drives, I decided to purchase the showroom Forester Sport that this Subaru had the interior custom made (its beautiful). Paul gathered all my information, the finance person was out of the office, but by Monday morning I had received a call that I was approved and made an appointment to pick up my car. Went in on Wednesday and everything was ready and I just had to sign papers. Paul walked me through the entire car and showed me a few of the new electronics. It was the easiest car purchase I have ever experienced and since I lease I do this every 3 years. Thank you!!

Went into Secor to purchase my first car after bouncing around other dealerships, Christine happened to be out on the lot and was extremely welcoming. She listened to all my wants and needs. Showed me all the cars I wanted to look at and maintained complete patience. My wife and I stopped in toward the end of the day on a Saturday after a long day of car shopping. Stood there for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us and then were told someone else would be right with us. 15 minutes later we decided to just leave since at that point we had been there for just about 25 minutes. This review is long overdue. My wife and I were in the market for a new Subaru. We had stopped by another dealer with the intent to buy just a few days prior to meeting Evert. It was as if the other dealer didnt actually want to sell us a car...and so glad they didnt! We stopped by to see Evert on a Sunday. I told him what we were looking for and he made it happen. It was the easiest deal Ive ever made. Ive bought and sold several cars in my life and wish that each time it had been with Evert. Anyone I hear of in the market for a Subaru hears about my experience and urge them to go to Secor and see my man Evert!And...I was worried about the follow up service. Ill be honest, weve used Secor Volvo for service of our other vehicle. For some reason the two dealerships, although under the same name, are night and day! An oil change at Secor Volvo may take 2.5 hours...at Subaru, 45 minutes, they stand behind their word. Very impressed so far...and my wife loves the Crosstrek!

After having my last car die suddenly, the thought of having to quickly shop for a new vehicle was initially a daunting task. Walking into Secor Subaru, and meeting Larry Becker soon changed my husbands and my feelings. Larry with his warm, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional manner soon had us looking at potential vehicles. We found a used 2016 Subaru that we decided to purchase. Once the finance was taken care of, Larry spent quite a while with us, explaining all the features of the vehicle, and showing us how to use them. He assured us we could call upon him anytime with further questions if we had any. There were a few minor things to be fixed on the vehicle, and Larry made sure they were taken care of properly and promptly. Although we did not deal with him a lot, Michael Sharrio was very helpful in explaining to us how to donate our old car to charity. That was something we hadnt thought of, and we were very happy to learn about that option. This was the first time weve had dealings with Secor Subaru, but it wont be our last time. We will also tell our family and friends of our wonderful experience with your dealership and Larry.

We love the handling, performance, reliability, and service of the Subaru. Ive had three Outbacks over the past 20+ years and my wife just switched from a BMW to a 2014 Subaru Legacy. Given the variety of weather conditions we see in Connecticut, rain, ice, snow, its the best all weather car Ive ever driven. Its AWD, relatively high clearance, and ample storage suit my driving needs just fine. Other than routine maintenance, the cars rarely need service. Compared to other cars weve had, maintenance is less expensive and done more quickly. Secor makes it quite convenient for you if you need to get a lift back to work while your car is being worked on. Its the only shop Ive ever dealt with that so actively follows up by phone and email inquiring as to your satisfaction. This, to me, demonstrates the staffs passion for providing quality service. Ill offer a thumbs up for Secor Subaru.

He always answered all my questions promptly and helped me understand everything about the vehicle as well as the buying process, even after ordering and purchasing my car. Our family has purchased 3 Subarus from Secor and has generally been very pleased with both sales and service by their friendly and competent staff. On this visit I noted several changes in personnel and work flows that accompanied the newly renovated service area. Signs instructed customers to use a new service lane. Since another car was parked in the service lane under the breezeway, I pulled in behind it. After I came inside to the sign-in window, I was told that I shouldnt park in the service lane as that blocks traffic. This same employee was efficient to the point of being brusque when I commented on new procedures like her walk-around inspection. The routine 75K service took twice as long as had been estimated (2 h vs 1 hr) and no apology or explanation was offered when my car was ready -- this is the reason for a 4 rating instead of 5. There were several new faces in the service dept and while the new staff were courteous, they seemed more impersonal. I did recognize the employee who checked me out. He gave me a point-by-point review of the service results before processing my payment. In summary, the vibe in the Service Dept feels different now, perhaps not a surprise given all the recent changes. Secor still has free coffee and donuts and good WiFi in the waiting area, and my car still gets a complimentary wash (exterior) after service.

Very friendly personnel. The test drive was a nice route, both back roads and highway, giving us a chance to really get a feel for the Subaru we wanted. We visited four Subaru dealerships and this one gave us the best deal.

After a number of bad experiences buying cars, Secor Subaru has renewed my faith in the car buying experience. The sales staff are helpful and accommodating, the service team prepared the car to look great, and the finance team are not pushy or unscrupulous. I worked with Russ and he will bend over backward to win your trust and earn the sale; strongly recommend dealing with him. I cant believe that Im using the word honest but I believe that Secor Subaru is one of the most honest dealerships that one could choose!

I had a good experience with leasing my new 2019 Crosstrek. A co-worker recommended Evert so I set up an appointment with him. He went out of his way to schedule me for an appt an hour before the dealership even opened. He did not pressure me into anything I wasnt interested in. He was very upfront that it would be difficult to get the color I wanted which was Cool Grey Khaki. He did a great job tracking one down that had all of the features I wanted. As a woman, he treated me with respect and dealt solely with me even with my boyfriend present for both the test drive and the pick up. Same thing with Angel. During all of the paperwork and dealing, Angel dealt solely with me and treated me with respect. Their customer services was excellent. If anything, I wished they were a bit more communicative about the process of tracking down my car. I had to call on my own to check on the status multiple times. Each time there wasnt any more news but I would have rather had communication that they were still in the process of getting it than to not. Otherwise, I had a great experience. My boyfriend will be purchasing a Subaru from Secor when he is ready to get a new car because of how great of an experience I had.

My husband call today about a used Subaru had a general question if the price was negotiable and what we were willing to pay. Apparently Carlos did not like the question because his response was your not going to pay that here and hung up the phone on my husband. Even though we were interested in buying a used car now we were definitely in the future going to buy a new Subaru and would have gladly given my business again. I guess not! Not to mention my husband owns a business. Customer service I guess it not this dealers forte.

My journey began online- Rob from Secor had some of the best communication and was so easy to deal with. When we finally decided what we wanted to test drive, my husband and I brought our two year old to test drive a new wrx. Paul meet us in the parking lot- listened to what we were looking for, and immediately got the paperwork together so my husband could test drive. My two year old had space to move around and everyone was so nice to us! After the test drive, I realized that we might do better if we bought one for me as well! We started looking at pricing- Kevin from finance found better pricing for us that we were originally thinking. The GM, Paul, was honest, upfront and didnt make us do the back and forth thing that we all hate! Sales Paul handled the entire process with such a friendly attitude and both Paul and Kevin made our pickup process super efficient and fast! I would definitely recommend purchasing a Subaru from Secor and will start my next car searching journey there again!

I have purchased more than a few new cars over the years. My guess is that Secor Subaru is your average 21st century dealership. If you rein in your expectations, you can get a nice car here. Customer service is not their strong suit.

We were looking to get the Ascent and we had looked at cars locally, down in New Haven, and up near Hartford. We went into Secor because we always prefer to shop locally. In the discussions and test drive, Secor did not have the exact model/color of the Ascent we were looking for. But Dan Mirles was fabulous in answering our questions about the vehicle. He found us the car we want, had it transferred, and came through on his promise to have our documentation and pick up done within an hour (I had a flight to catch). Will never regret the decision to shop with Secor. Dan Mirles rocks!

My husband and I just completed the purchase of our new XV Crosstrek. The entire experience was easy and actually a pleasure! Our salesman Evert was the BEST. He was very informative about the vehicle and very polite and easy going. We never had the typical salesman pressure that we have experienced in many other dealerships. Even though we were only looking, we actually signed the purchase agreement immediately. Paul Holden was also great to work with as we ended up trading in my treasured BMW 128i convertible. Im still a little sad about that but come winter time and driving in the snow I know I will have no regrets! All in all, a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Secor Subaru!

I have been a regular customer for over 20 years - I bought our 4th vehicle from Secor last year. The latest attempt to book my car in for a regular service has been very frustrating. I started last week but kept getting put on hold and passed around. Finally someone answered and said they were busy and they would call me back this week to make an appointment.Three days pass - no response. So I call Subaru again. This time I was able to make an appointment the following week. But when I called back to ask a follow up question, the same thing happens - put on hold, passed around finally getting a request for a voice message that gets no response.

I had a check engine light on for a potentially serious issue. I have always been wary of service departments of other dealers that seem to come up with mystery problems requiring hundreds of dollars to fix. But during the four plus years I have been servicing my Forester at Secor Subaru, I have consistently been treated with the respect and honesty you would hope to get everywhere. So I knew I could leave the car and whatever they diagnosed would be an honestly needed repair. What a pleasure to be given the car back the next day and be told that there was no charge and only a small part was replaced. Having a service department that you can trust to do only what you really need at a fair cost takes the stress out of car maintenance.

Love these guys. After a really great purchasing experience with Keith, i have been impressed with the service team. They make it easy with loaners and a shuttle service. I recently arrived at work and discovered i had acquired a flat tire on my commute. I called them and the service manager came out during my lunch break, met me at my work site, and put the spare tire on for me!! After work I was able to go over there and they quickly put on a new tire (too much damage to plug it). I highly recommend Secor Subaru. Only tiny tiny complaint is that I wish the service department was open later in the evening for picking up/paying after service is complete.

Unfortunately very poor customer service. I dont even know the salesmans name, because he never said it. Said absolutely nothing about the cars when I saw them. Didnt offer to show me features. Didnt describe it. Didnt offer to drive it. I asked him to drive one and he said nothing from the time we got in through the entire drive. I asked what the difference between 2018 and 2017 model was and he said everything.

I have to say Carlos Pineda is the best salesperson I ever dealt with. He listened to all my concerns (sometimes a little too much because I truly am a worry-wart), and treated my new car delivery as if it was his own. I like the way the dealership is set up for service, knowing you can get body work done at Secor Volvo right up the road if you ever need it. Everyone else at the dealership was very kind and helpful - just a fantastic buying experience. I highly recommend Secor Subaru!

If I could give this dealership no stars I would. Drop my car off for a simple oil change, tires rotations and wiper changes. I drop my car off at 11 A.M, didn’t heard anything from the dealership, so I decided to call to make sure everything was good. I called around 3 PM in the afternoon. The person that answer the phone told me that my car was still not ready and it was going to be ready around 4-4:30 PM. Received a text saying that my car is ready to go at 4:15 PM went there any nothing. Around 4:25 PM finally talked to someone and guess what my car was not fully ready. The lady asked me if I wanted to wait to get my car washed.. and I obviously said no!!!! I waited for my car for about 5:30 hrs... for a simple maintenance. Like how???? That’s my question I don’t understand. I’m really upset also at my other dealership my wipers are included in my maintenance plan, so why did I had to pay for them... I’m for sure not going back.
