I go here all the time for my box braids ... I recently started going else where . I ask for bigger braids and maya does not listen . I show her a photo of the color I want in my hair and she tried to charge me for the length but I did not ask for or want extra long braids just the color from the photo . But on the plus side she braids fast normally has two people working on your hair and the braids come out beautiful.

Horrible! Overpriced! Mediocre braids! The worst ever!! Save your money and your time! She thinks braiding fast is a plus, but the quality of the braids are horrible! As soon as you complain she blames you! Your hair is thin, or the picture is not showing enough! I’ve been getting my hair braided for over 30 years, I know what quality is suppose to look and feel like! She puts Tons of grease/gel to cover up too many mistakes! She is a hustler, DONT GET HUSTLED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

Called and asked if she had availability and she told me a time, I showed up showed her what I wanted and it was do . So polite and humorous. Definitely will return

Horrible, don’t even waste your money. She’s expensive $200 for box braids I had to redo. There were knots throughout the braids. Her parts aren’t straight. I showed a picture of what I wanted and she did her own thing. When I asked her to fix it she started raising her voice. The braids are far from neat.i wish I could post pictures to show how messy she is. Just drive out of town for braids. New haven is way better.

If I can leave 0stars I would. I got box braids done by Maya. I brought my own hair and was still charged $200. The braids didnt even last a week! By the fourth day, my braids were coming undone. She rips through my hair at the time of service and I ended taking my hair out because my entire scalp started blistering. When I called Maya to tell her about my hair and asked for a refund, she refused to refund me and blamed the blisters on my type of skin and told me the reason why my hair was coming undone was because my hair was too silky. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. She kept dropping the comb on the floor and proceeded to pick it off the floor and use it in my hair (which is unsanitary). Completely disappointed.

Very professional, timely, and inexpensive. Maya provided excellent customer service and got me in and out. My box braids are neat and I’ve gotten comments on them everywhere I go. I have finally found a great braider in the groton area. I’m pleased with her service and will return.

She kept commenting on how soft my hair is but continued to pull on it tighter. Ripped some bald spots in my head also. Did not listen to how I wanted my hair and I ended up with random braids where they should not have been.

Maya did my cousins hair in 2.2 seconds! I thought wed be there for a long time but nope. She was definitely worth the half hour drive :)

If i could leave 0 stars i would. Went for a hair braid, got absolute garbage service and got charged 50 dollars for the worst braid i have ever got in my life. If you are in the area DO NOT go there. Sloppy braids and they came out within 3 hours, Please save yourself and do not come here.

I got my braids done but my hair was short and the price was to expensive for just 7 braids that are very simple to do. But I will be going back there soon to get box braids if they can do them.

I made a first time appointment with Maya to do my nieces hair who was staying with me for the summer. We had a 3pm appointment. We were up late the night before so we didnt get up until 11am. At 11:25 am Maya called and said her 11am appointment didnt show up so could we come earlier at noon. I said yes, but it might be a few minutes after because we needed to get dressed, etc... Two minutes before we were about to leave Maya calls again and said the woman showed up(almost and hour late) so could we come at 2:30pm. Needless to say I was not happy. We had just rushed to accommodate her and now the late client showed up so we are being asked once again to accommodate her. As far as Im concerned the late client should have been asked to wait until my niece got her hair done. This is not the way a business is run and when I said this to Maya she got mad and said I didnt know her and thanks for saying those things about her. No I dont know her, but first impressions are big, and my first impression of her is that she doesnt necessarily care about the client. The call dropped and I made the decision not to call her back, and to not take my niece to her. So because she doesnt know how to treat clients, and new ones at that, she lost out on making money from us today, and Im a really good tipper. Not only that, but my niece and her family may be moving here and had she of had better business work ethics she may have ended up with a new permanent client. Her loss....

Maya is very over priced. I had a crotchet done and she rushed threw it then charged $130 when I had the hair already. At first I was satisfied then I got home and seen the middle wasnt all the way done! No refunds!! Terrible customer service. Wish I can post pictures.

1 week and my braids look old and lines not straight. Hair fuzz everywhere. Won’t last for a month. Clumsy job
