Cute grocery store to shop local food especially crawfish. We came and visited during Memorial Weekend. The first time we went around 10pm and all the food were gone. We got there around 3pm the next day and luckily we bought the last two bags of crawfish. It’s very cheap and fresh. The flavor is not that strong like the restaurant but definitely worth it. We bought 11.5 lbs for about 20 something bucks. So come early!!!
Very convenient location to our hotel! We have had to make quick trips here for the last two nights to be sure our kids had hotel snacks. The Strawberry shortcake was excellent! My husband even got a rack of BBQ ribs last night. My daughter said her chicken sandwich was high quality. It reminds me of the Publix in SC but cheaper prices.
All in one stop. Groceries, liquor, wine, hot and cold deli. Pizza by the slice. Everything you need is right there with really good prices.
Everytime I visit NOLA, I shop here for its: location, customer service and food selections. Great parking and easy walk from any of NO hotels. I was able to get most of the traditional NOLA foods to take back with me to Queens. However, the Turkey Tasso was not in stock. I even traveled to Rouses on the West Bank, but had no luck. Pork tasso was abundantly available. 🤨They better have my Turkey Tasso when travel to NOLA for carnival. 😉
The update is aggravating. I prefer not having to look down an isle to find out if it’s the one I want
They controlled the amount of customers coming to shop. They were practically open for like any day shopping, stocked really well, fresh fruits, cheeses/pkg meat, and everyone of their employees were friendly..the lines to check out werent long, due to line control of customers wanting in, which helped and Those waiting lines moved at a fast pace
Surprisingly wonderful grocery store. Visiting town and stopped in for some basic supplies; reminds me of Wegmans in upstate NY, which is a GREAT thing.
They don’t even let their cashiers sit down. Their selection is passable at best, but their employees deserve better treatment.
Found what I needed. Prices were reasonable.
My new favorite place to shop in NOLA!! CLEAN, GOOD SELECTION, REASONABLE PRICES (BETTER THAN WHOLE PAYCHECK mkt which I give only 4 stars).
The store is definitely up and running! Everything looks great 👍and Im glad to see that!
Vacationing in the area and my wife wanted to go to Whole Foods... I said we didn’t drive 10 hours to go to Whole Foods so we went here. It was a very pleasant surprise. We were both glad we did something more local.Very cool interior. Felt like a fancy grocery store but didn’t have that air about it. Very nice meat, seafood, and deli counters. Parking lot was tiny, but even around 5 PM on a Saturday it had a few spots open.
Im in from out of town and needed some things to get through the week. This place was close and open late so I headed over. I like it. It has a good selection and amazing prices. What I got wouldve been a lot more money at home. If I need anything else while Im in town Im definitely going back.
Wonderful experience. Not from the area but was looking for some things for our week long stay. Found everything I needed and more to include creamers we love, fresh fruits and vegetables, to a variety of NOLA coffee. I want to send a super shout out to an employee by the name of Michael, I think. He was restocking the eggs at 7 in the morning and made sure I had ones that were not cracked. Additionally, he was so kind when I asked if there was a creamer in stock to keep me know he had ordered it and hoped it would be in today and would save me a bottle if I would be back! Such excellent service. I cannot thank him enough. I had a great experience at the check out to with Shantel. I had brought a special bag because I had to walk a bit to get back and she was super patient and helped me pack my bags to get as much in as possible without damaging any of the groceries. Thank you so much team.
Great grocery store, easy to get to from the Hyatt. The staff are great. I made a late night run last night and even though the bakery counter was closed, the woman working there served me an amazing mini pumpkin cheesecake. The fruit tart is also great. I had the Cuban sandwich sliders (they lasted for two meals, so that was a real $5 bargain) and they were super tasty. Couldn’t find them again. So maybe you have to get lucky. I’m writing this as a tourist at a hotel that doesn’t seem to offer a grab and go option. The stock looks typical for a grocery store besides the quick eats.
I had a very good experience shopping at this Rouses today. A cashier by the name Ida was very pleasant and went above and beyond with her customer service.
Tidy, organized, with plenty of fresh things and great covid protocols. Customer service was great and theyd actually walk you to where you needed to go instead of just pointing you in the direction. Limited selection on some things, great selection on others. For a downtown grocery store, it was surprisingly large and well stocked.
We are visiting for the Easter Holiday and came in for grocery for the week to save some money. They have everything you would need, even Gorilla Glue!!! Their vegetables are fresh and the bakery department is amazing! Both young ladies who helped us were fabulous. We tried the Blueberry lemon and the pistachio individual cake slices (they are big enough to share, but you wont want to). Both were yummy. The store is clean and well organized. Everyone we encountered was helpful and the prices were fair. No complaints out of me.
Being from Europe I am not used to the AC blasting in stores, but it is freezing cold in there. Not many options for people with food intolerances or people looking for healthy snacks.Fruit and vegetables however are great.
I love Rouses Market! It must visit every time I am in New Orleans! The selection and hot and cold food bars are they best!
Coming from NY Im used to a lot more variety. I was kind of shocked how little they have but I understand this is a local chain. Not a ton organic or healthy options. Everything was clean and organized.
Surprisingly not not as diverse selection as any local Wal-Mart. Of course Rouses doesnt have the sq footage of a typical Wal-Mart. But I kinda expect more specialty and local items and brands.
I live in Metairie, but I discovered this Rouses during the Mardi gras season, and I have been visiting it ever since. I really like it the employees are always friendly you can use the restroom if you need to, and they have a lot of interesting finds. Due to hurricane Ida I am now staying in New Orleans at my sons because I still dont have electricity at my home, and this rouses is the only thing thats open in this area and I am so grateful for them, are we wouldnt be able to find food and water. If you ever in the area stop by, Im sure you wont be disappointed.
A very nice place 👌to shop! I love 💘shopping 🛍😍there.
It had like everything. Pretty clean and good quality. I just love it
We were in New Orleans for the week after Easter and stopped here to pick up some groceries after spending $100+ for breakfast the first two days! This market is great, lots of variety of fresh fruits, veggies, beer, wine, meats, and prepared foods as well. We ended up coming back 2 more times as the selection and prices couldnt be found elsewhere nearby.
Wonderful store, placement is a bit odd since its right by CBD, little tricky to get to it you live in like Carrollton or Uptown
Easy in and out parking. The store is wide, spacious and well stocked. The restrooms are clean. Lastly, the associates are costumer friendly.
Love dis place. Fresh flowers. Any day lots of fresh produce n cooked food too .n seafood as well. Reasonable prices they even have ginger fresh n ginger in sliced with suger coating near dried fruitShould have been honey(crystallized) WoW!! Awesome wine racks
My experience at roses market was very good and pleasant
Nice and stocked very clean. The cashier was very nice and helpful 👍
Stayed in an Airbnb a few blocks a way so this was great to have to stick the fridge during our trip. Everything you need at decent prices
Good selection and the prices are reasonable. Espresso is good.
I have been shopping at Rouses for years, and usually Im pretty pleased with the quality of food and the specials. Being treated appropriately is important to me. Today I bought a fish and cheese sandwich. I got outside to have lunch at one of the tables and opened the sandwich only to discover that there wasnt any cheese. No problem, things happen so I went to return it at customer service. Terri had a bad attitude, and told me.... The cheese is inside the sandwich. I actually had to tell her that I had opened the sandwich already... (which should have been obvious, since the package was open and the sandwich had been separated.)And that there wasnt any cheese. Obviously, if the sandwich had cheese it would have been on the inside. She refunded my money without asking me if Id like to get something else so I left. I dont appreciate being treated like I am stupid by someone with a bad attitude that obviously SHOULD NOT BE WORKING CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Its a grocery store. There is a good selection of food, lots of local beer.
Great clean place to shop in the CBD New Orleans...
Place was great! Picked up a few groceries for the hotel, The place was nice and clean and everything seemed nice n fresh, They actually have a pretty big variety of everything including sushi and hot foods!
They had most products we needed. Were filling shelves so there some blockage of shopping aisles but they allowed passage if they were in your way.
Always in there. Phenomenal crew they have.
It was closed, but, generally, this is a very nice store with a,very surprise, cafe attached.
Friendly staff, vary helpful to two out of Towners that walked in five minutes to closing
Used to love Rouses but found the quality of the prepared foods had fallen off recently. Hopefully itll get better soon. Tried to order a sandwich and stood there for several minutes before one of the many people working behind the sandwich counter bothered to tell me it didnt open for another 15 minutes. No signs posted anywhere.
Very handy grocery store in the middle of downtown with a great selection and solid prices. Fortunate find.
Fast efficient service and a clean place to shop
It was a delightful experience walking through the store it was not run down the staff was very nice and overall I would give it a five out of five for both the tourist and locals.
High prices but nice, clean. Need more cashiers.
Very well stocked with grab and go food, sandwiches, salads, dips, cheese n fruits and veggies and breakfast plates (get there before construction workers for breakfast). They have pizza by slice and sushi bar. My favorite place to shop before work to stock up on frozen entrees for lunch and drinks and snacks.
Great store in the downtown. Probably the cheapest in the neighborhood. You will get A to Z grocery items here. Selection is great.
Great store, great to go food like sushi, pizza and tacos! They even have a wine chiller to get your wine cold in 7 minutes!
Visited the store on Baronne 2 days ago, India was extremely helpful, came back the next day and Aaron was just as kind.. thanks for the helpful Dinner suggestions for us out of towners.
Great selection considering the size and locationA Little bit Maze like, but employee helped me locate the correct isle for what I was looking for
Love this market for a true New Orleans experience and service with a smile. Great selection of Community coffee too☕☕
Clean and well stocked. Far better than the other one in town. Friendly staff at both. Very odd set up as far as where everything is located.
Love Rouses at 701 baronne Street New Orleans clean, fully stocked, everything you could want in one location. Staff is extremely helpful
Loved this little grocery. Didnt expect to find it in the warehouse district.
Good source of food items including fresh tilapia !
Love this store I can find everything I need
Good place to shop groceries. The location is pretty nice while the service is good and professional.
Great place great staff good prices we will be back.
Great store love the atmosphere and selection.Issues: sleeping homeless people in the chairs by the entrance multiple days in a row. I feel like these people could be easily escorted from the premise.Parking lot should flow the other way in my opinion and let you out on Girod.
Its always fairly busy here, especially after everyone gets of work in the area. Its clean and people are very helpful and friendly. Small parking lot would be the only downside.
Exceptionally clean market, wide aisles and such a wonderful assortment of local foods and seafood. The smell of crawfish boiling is captivating to the senses.
Wonderful store. It is clean and carries a wide variety with reasonable prices.
The store is always well lit and stocked. The staff is friendly and fast
Be careful when using side door to park and enter. This is locked from 5pm to 8am. I didnt know and had to walk almost a block to get the car (Im disabled and use a cane), then drove around the block to get to front entrance . Carts cannot be taken outside so you must leave it by door and go back and forth to carry groceries to car. Bummer!! Other than that wonderful selections, huge store.
Couldnt fine the meats I wanted
Have to wait in 2 lines to get groceries and bourbon? No thanks.
Love this store ! Its clean and comfortable with great prices
Super nice people. Lady in deli is great as was cashier and manager.
Nice grocery store that was close to where I was staying.
I was a visitor from out of town. I was impressed with this market. Everything was fresh. I recommend this market.
Writing this review to make the community aware of the profiling and discrimination going on in this local store. This Rouses serves a rather small local neighborhood not a busy main road or a destination. Mainly, this rouses serves the CBD/warehouse district and as such I was shocked and appalled to learn that they have banned the local school students from entering the store. We bought in this neighborhood thinking of the convenience of a local market and as such I expected I would be able to send my teen daughter, a student at this banned school, to pick up groceries for me when I’m not feeling well (autoimmune issues). Unknowingly, she went in at my request after school only to be subjected to one of the worst kinds of hostility, profiling. Of course, I march myself down there to demand why they won’t allow her patronage only to discover that her school has been banned, the entire school of students, banned because “they come in here to steal”. How is no one aware (and if they are how has it been allowed to continue?) that the local school with a mostly brown student body has been profiled and discriminated in such a way? Are they banning all school students in uniform?Nope, just targeting this school.
Decent prices and at least the money stays local compared to a Walmart or something, but not a fan of the companys political spending.
Nice market. A large selection in a small store. Limited hot foods since covid but still a good store. I just wish the employees seemed happier.
Been shopping here since it opened, convenient for those that work in the area for passing by for lunch or when on your way home. Usually open till midnight and opens at 7am. They make pizzas, burritos, tacos and sushi fresh to order. I’m sure there’s a bakery. Huge wine section, liquors and beer. I shop here once a week and during the Covid, I have been walking there and carrying my groceries in my book bag, people usually don’t bother me, Usually.
Alvin was so awesome! He was so sweet and helpful. William too
Very expansive selection. A lot of local items, and a great produce section with many things I havent seen before. Seems to have a cafeteria that runs along those inside. Noticed many locals eating their.
A great place to shop. I kive the selection of fresh fruits and veggies 😋... prices are reasonable but not the best but great vibe in the store totally... a great kitchen for fresh cooked food and some items over here you will not find anywhere .. love the staff and a clean store to be in.. thanks so.kucj for the great food
It’s just the best!!
First time visiting this place. Great selections and the meat is very reasonably priced. Makes me want to move to New Orleans just to shop here.
Its the only convenient grocers I can run toI just wish they tasted some of their store brand stuff, its really bizarre at times; ie the guacamole just tastes of garlic
Amazing place if your staying at a hotel in the warehouse district.
