I had a great experience and so glad I was validated in my current thoughts or situations. The store and check-in staff were great. I will say, I listened to my friends reading and there may need to be a re review on Otis- I felt like the reading was a bunch of adjectives. I would recommend this location and loved the set up for the rooms.

I have my first tea leaf 10 minute reading with a very special psychic named Kim! Once I put my energy into the cup she already knew things about me before saying anything. We were in a private room and it was very personal. I felt enlighten after the reading. She answered questions before I asked which made this experience truly remarkable.

An amazing experience. Wonderful staff, And very good psychics. I surprise my sister with a Tea reading And the entire experience gave her a calming peace of mind. I also purchased a crystal ball. It was one of the best I’ve seen. Not one inclusion and so beautiful. I wanted a black stand pillow and they went out of their way to find one. Probably one of the best experiences I’ve had. I am going to have to figure out how to get a 20 pound crystal ball back with me on a flight but I’m sure it won’t be too bad.

Had a reading with Otis. This reading was literally him doing about 6 tarot card readings. I was in there for about 30 min and I have no idea what he said. All he did was call out each card as he flipped it over. The reading had nothing to do with me personally. I should have requested a refund and regret that I didn’t. They have me a CD with the reading on it which I’ll probably never listen to because the “reading” was just the same phrases mentioned over and over again. He also kept saying that maybe I would have kids or maybe I wouldn’t…maybe I would get married, maybe I wouldn’t. He said it was based on my choice. Yes I KNOW! I came to get a reading so that someone could give me an idea of what direction I was heading in. I got nothing from this reading. It’s a shame because otherwise the place seemed nice. Do not waste your time here. You can probably get more somewhere else.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I felt compelled to do so based on my psychic reading. I did a 10 minute reading that lasted more like 5 minutes and completely centered around my partner at the moment. I mean I love him and all but we decided not to do a couple reading because we wanted to know about ourselves specifically and separately. On top of feeling like my reading was all about him and not me, my partner’s reading completely contradicted mine. My “psychic” said we were soulmates and would get married soon and have been together in a separate life while his “psychic” said that we weren’t meant to be and he would marry someone from a different country. I’m not bitter BUT I feel like our readings should not be that different if our “psychics” are supposedly connected to some otherworldly wavelength. It’s a fun experience if you just want to do a tarot card reading but don’t take anything they say seriously. Purely entertainment. The women up front were very friendly and welcoming though. Service was 10/10 for sure.The readings on the other hand, were not.

Yesterday I received a review from Antoinette, She read the cards so fast I could hardly understand what she was saying. She kept looking at the timer so I felt like she wasnt interested. I figured Id listen to the cd provided once I returned home from my vacation. Im home and the cd doesnt work.. Myself and my girlfriends werent offered tea. Reading the comments is how I learned we shouldve been given a free tea.. My two girlfriends had Otis and after hearing their readings it sounds like he repeated the exact thing to both of them. I feel like I was hoodwinked and bamboozled!

My future wife and I did a couples tea reading. I was waiting for a camera crew to jump out and tell me the entire experience was a joke. To my surprise, it never happened.Next time I want to burn $80 in ten minutes, I will take a match to $80, literally. The flames would give me far more satisfaction than this snake oil shop did.

My 30 minute reading lasted for 10 minutes. It was not in depth at all. These folks are calling out in. Totally not worth the $70 price. Ive had much better readings for half as much.

The cashier lady was beyond rude, near unwelcoming. The psychic was general with some palm readings that would probably be relatable to most people, but not all to me. There were many things he told me that didnt make sense about my tarot card reading at the time and I thought he was far off, but after listening to the CD back about 3 weeks after the reading, more made sense and seemed more relevant than I could imagine at the time.

Loved there selection of crystals and a very good price. The tea readings were s little on the price side, so I did not get to do it. Very cute shop.

I was in New Orleans from MD and decided to have a 30 minute reading done. I cant remember the womans name but she said she was from Mexico and had been doing it since she was 14. My reading with her was AMAZING. She knew so much about me based on the cards without me telling her anything except my name and birthdate. Some of the things she said that was going to happen has taken place and I cant wait to see if everything else plays out the way she said its going to in 2021. I was and still am impressed and also glad you get the reading on the CD to listen to on a later date.

This place is both a shop and a reading room.The staff are friendly and they also accept cards.The shop at the front is airey and welcoming and has seating on offer. They sell everything from books, cds, crystals and teas.The readings are done towards the back of the shop. You can have short readings lasting about 15 minutes, and even over the telephones.

I got some tea and a palm reading here four months ago. The tea wass great so I went online and bought three other flavors and a mug, which I enjoy. The reading was exactly what I wanted out of the experience. The guy took his time to answer my questions and I liked having the recording and scratch paper to take home. Ive thought about that reading very frequently since I visited because it remains relevant to my life on a semi-regular basis. I would definitely go back if it werent for COVID and travel restrictions, which is why I ordered online. Looking through the website I was surprised at the tarot card options and other products that I didnt realize they offered when I was there in person.Ill almost certainly use Bottom of the Cup as my exclusive loose leaf tea hookup 👍🏼💕

Cute little place. Was expecting a tea shop, and they do have a seating place (no seating right now though), but it seems to just be for getting your leaves read and theres very little tea to be bought, its mostly just your average metaphysical shop.

I had my reading done by Aurora who has been practicing for 35 years. I was impressed by her method and depth of knowledge. She didnt ask me for a specific, focusing question; rather, she arranged the spread and pointed out what she saw most immediately. I wish she would have explained the cards and spread to me, but cest la vie. At the end, they give you a CD with audio of your session. On the shop side, they sell quite a few varieties of decks, candles, tea, and crystals. Id recommend stopping by if youre in the area.

I do NOT recommend this place at ALL. Paid $35 for a 10 min read, and was in the room for exactly 6min and 2 seconds (including the minute that took the lady to set up, talk about her having bad allergies and after for about a minute or so of her recording whatever she blurbs in a cd player) so I’d say my reading was a total of 4:30min ....All she did was LITERALLY read the cards (example; woman 8 - this card means power...) but never ever mentioned anything about how it relates to me or my life. Again, DO NOT COME HERE, and if you do, do NOT go with Lela.

I made an appointment for a tea leaf reading. The staff at the front desk were very rude and dismissive, terrible customer service. The next day l came back to the same cranky staff members who failed to ask me if l had an appointment and just ignored me even though l was the only person in the store. After waiting 10 minutes l asked if l needed to check in and l got a very sassy “yes!”I then went into the reading which was supposed to last 10 minutes. I was in the room for less than 6 minutes and was told nothing more than anyone could guess simply by looking at me. Don’t bother it’s not worth the money. There are many far better thing to do in New OrleansI

We decided to try here for fun. It was fun!! I had my tea leaves read by Celeste and she was very charming and wonderful! The other two girls I was with did their tarot cards. We all enjoyed it. If you are in it for fun, I would recommend this place! Thank you Celeste from Alter-Ego Tattoo Studio!

Paid $35 for a 10 min tarot reading and an old lady took me in to her stall. Shes reading my vibes and already told me a lot of things beforehand that was straight to the point shocking. Mind blowing. We went through the tarot cards afterwards and cards pretty much said my current situation in life at that moment. She asked if I was in a relationship and how old my girlfriend was and accurately described how we are together. I forgot her name but I recommend anyone to go to her. Her stall is the one on the right side nearest to the tables.

I went here today for the first time and had a bad experience. I had scheduled a review with Charlie but he was extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. I said hello when I entered the booth for my reading and he didn’t respond or talk to me for 5 minutes. This was my first time having Tarot cards read and I had no clue what to expect. I was scolded for not doing spiritual work before my session. I spent $70 to be chastised. I’m giving it two stars because the palm reading was decent.

The reading was alright. They give you a CD with the recording which is really cool. Seemed very mechanical and mostly related to the zodiac signs, which is very helpful if you’re not a great psychic 😑 I’m not sure if it is legit or not most of what’s suppose to happen was a year out. But very detailed, so we will see. I’ll report back if I meet a guy with the initials that were recorded.. at Christmas. I didn’t want a love reading, but that’s kinda what I got. I wanted a career reading. As soon as I revealed I was single, the season was wrapped around love.. 3 out of 5 for the fresh complementary tea!!

I visited Bottom of the Cup in November while in NOLA with my best friend to celebrate her engagement. We had a fantastic experience with our Tarot Card readings - Aurora Lee was phenomenal; it was such a treasure to meet and receive wisdom from her. We loved having CD recordings of our readings to take home - such an awesome keepsake. After returning home, I called in to order some tea for shipment and Leo, the shop manager, was so great to work with. He was very kind and knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions before I made my purchase. The order was shipped out right away! This company is a gem and Im so happy to have been connected to them. I will continue to be a happy customer, whether in NOLA or MKE!

Quaint little shop a few blocks south of Bourbon street. I stopped to sit down for a while after a long walk. I enjoyed a lovely cup of tea for a reasonable price.If you are into the supernatural, tea leaf reading and fortune telling is also offered. I browsed in the shop and saw articles of divination from several different cultures for sale. I just stopped for the tea (and the chair!), but the shop was quite the diversion!

Charlie is amazing.. my tarot reading was truthful yet dark, but he explained how to turn my situation around and even talked about ‘law of attraction’ in a roundabout way. I definitely plan to see him again 🔮

This is a great shop! You can find all kinds of fun things, crystals, jewelry, stones, cards, glass pyramids, medals, and dolls. The staff is fun and super friendly and I enjoyed chatting while waiting for my reading appointment---I arrived 50 minutes early for my reading with Otis and the staff got me in early. The reading from Otis was positive, fun and full of energy. He loves what he does and it truly shows. For my 1/2 hour reading he gave me a CD and Ive been able to relisten to my reading and have heard more things that I missed during the actual reading. Thank you to the staff and Otis for a fantastic time in your shop!

Authentic 90+ year old tea room in the French Quarter. I had a tarot card reading. It was an eye opening experience. I will definitely be back.

The owner was lovely and very knowledgeable. The only place I could find in all New Orleans that provided tea leaf reading as an option. The reading was enjoyable and came with a take home CD of the reading. They also provided complementary tea with well over 15 options of teas to choose from. Overall very satisfied with the visit as well as the tea.

Leo is one of the nicest people youll meet in New Orleans. A true southern gentleman who can reassure you of the accuracy + authenticity of your reader. Lots of gems in the store. Take a moment, browse + have a cup of tea + just drink in the vibe. Much different than other spiritual shops in New Orleans.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! They go around giving people false hope! And to tell someone they are going to get pregnant with a certain time frame is ridiculous! You have NO idea what they have/are going through. You can not tell someone that?!? My sister wants a child of her own so bad. And you guys told her she was going to get pregnant within 4 months with a girl... She has struggled for so long and endured so much. Now she has this to deal with.. I wouldnt suggest this place to anyone. Bunch of con artist just in it for the money.

Had a lovely reading done here. Would recommend to others. The lady who did mine surprised me with how indepth the reading was. She knew before we even started my parents were going to give me money next year for a house. It helped me feel more confident about a few decisions I need to make with my career and overall was truly insightful. Happy I decided to make the trip!

What a joke. The guy Otis, I am sure he may have the gift however he cut our time down and only told us positive things which are not truth. Maybe he interrupted different but we had a serious medical question that we were looking for help on and he just basically gave a great false message of hope that is not the case. He also skipped several tarot cards and read in a way I am not used too. Dont waste your money or time.

This place is something special! Been around forever, and the assortment of real leaf teas is lovely - try the blueberry. The readings I received have always been spot on. I visited in 2011 with Dawn, have also received readings from Otis (2013, 2014) by phone. Both have given me honest tidbits into my future; many of the things they have told me have come to be, including the timing of my wedding, and the timing & gender of my first child (a little girl!), which both shared with me without corroboration... and they knew years before her conception, let alone arrival! A lot fun, give it a try! I cant wait to visit again next week :)

Has surprisingly good prices for the French Quarter. I have had 2 readings from 2 different people and was satisfied with reading ability. Teas are good.

Dont go there, the guy only tells you positive things about your future so you go out of there happy. I paid 35$ for a 10 min readings where all the cards the guy had were only positive cards... He was just randomly reading all the cards... Who are you kidding ?! You are better off going to a reading in the street next to jackson square

Really neat little place! We had our tea leaves read! My only complaint was that the space for readings is so small and tends to be a little loud versus private. You can hear other readings going on. Good selection of merchandise to purchase, including actual tea. Neat experience to try!

The shop is a nice place with some cool trinkets. They had an opening for a reading on the fly so I went in, waited to be called and went into a small room with the physic. She told me some nice things and brought up things about my career that were pretty accurate but I would not say there was a big connection between us. I chose the half hour reading which didnt take the whole half hour but that was ok. I did like that they record your reading so you can listen to it later. All in all I say theyre worth a shot, I just didnt feel a big connection with the reader as I have with other readers.

I came in to get my first tarot reading and had a great experience. The shop has been there since 1929. My tarot reader was a quirky 78 yo man who recorded the $35 10 minute session so i could listen to it later. The merchandise was a little expensive, but I still purchased a set of tarot cards as a gift. Definitely a fun stop if you find the time or have the interest!

The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and amazing from the second we walked in. He greeted us but didnt bombard us with questions as to what we were looking for. I gathered some items that had caught my eye then inquired about the loose tea reading. I got a 10 minute reading which included and CD recording. The reading was very interesting and I am so glad I had the experience. After the reading my friend and I were given complimentary cups of tea to take with us, both were tasty. a sencha green tea and Georgia peach red tea. Id love to return if ever given the chance.

It was a slight source of disappointment that this place was primarily a psychic reading shop and not a tea store as its sign tended to imply. That said they did actually have some tea there which you could prepare and enjoy inside or take with you walking.As for its psychic reading and metaphysics side I did not get a psychic reading there so I cant comment on that however their collection of books and assorted items was fairly comprehensive and reasonably priced

Other than the older gentleman, Lee this was a waste of my time. Theyve got great prices on a few stones and different feng shui and evil eye products but they seemed to not want to be bothered with my questions or even greeting. Lee changed that and I was scheduled with a reading from Otis... and I left uninspired... everything in my life was great and going to stay great, while that sounds wonderful it felt disingenuous. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere a bit less commercial and pepple that actually like what they do.

Everytime I go here I have a really empowering experience. I am definitely a tarot person and hold it up as a type of spiritual experience, and if not entirely believing in its powers, I definitely think of tarot and astrology as ways to look deeper into your subconscious and to be seen by the tarot reader. The first time I went to Bottom of the Cup was magical. Sadly I cant remember my practitioners name but they were male identified and they are there often I believe. The reading was just incredibly positive all the way through, which I think many first timers have a worry that their reading will freak them out or something, but his reading just felt like warm sunshine and a way to light up my life and feel gratitude. The second time my reading was about the same, but what really made me feel happy was that I went with friends for my 30th birthday and the man with gray hair who was working behind the desk just kept smiling at me and saying things like, its going to be a good decade and giving me loving vibes. Thank you so much, Bottom of the Cup! You know how to to Tarot and how to treat your customers! Also they record all their sessions on a CD which I think is genius! 🥰

There’s lots of negative reviews on these readings, however me and my friend had one and they were completely different. I found mine very positive however my friends was not so positive. Therefore I do not think they just do a generic reading... the man who did my reading said things about my life which he would not have known. You need to go to these readings with an open mind. I felt a strong comforting spiritual vibr from this place. The man doing my reading wasn’t trying to tell me what I wanted to hear, he just read out what he got from me. Tarot cards do come out mainly positive, however situations can change in a second. If they say you something will happen to you at this point of time it dosnt me a it will it just means that’s what they read from you at that moment in time.If you are wanting to do a reading I would recommend this place 100 percent. But always have an open mind. If these people could 100 percent predict the future I’m sure they would be doing the lottery every week. It’s not about reading your future though it’s about reading you and if you go in there thinking that you probably shouldn’t go. I loved this place.

Visited during a recent trip to New Orleans. Quant little shop with lots of knick knacks and a large selection of teas! My friend had a reading performed. She was very impressed and I love that they provide a recording for you to take home.

Went there today with my husband. We werent told what was offered, tarot, palm reading, etc. We werent offered any tea. Our readings were pretty much the same, all good stuff, but nothing psychic. Staff was nice, but I was disappointed. I was hoping for something more personal about my life.

Go anywhere else. i can’t begin to tell you how much of a hoax this felt like. the woman, brandee, found out i was in college and all she could talk about is how she saw me in school and getting scholarships. i paid $65 to get tarot and palm reading done for 30 min and all she did was talk about school for 20 and then kicked me out. didn’t even touch my palm. i am frustrated and feel ripped off. don’t waste your money like i did.

Neat place and pleasant waiting area but I request a tea reading, which is the only reason I went here, and she gave me a tarot reading. She asked me a lot of question and gave me a vague reading. I went in expecting nothing just entertainment but this was disappointing

Absolutely overpriced. $35 for 5 minutes with only 3 minutes of actual talking (excluding questions, which seemed like an annoyance to be asked). Felt like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. Got a palm reading, and the reader was unenthusiastic, cold, and rude. Provided no analysis of the lines on my palm or predictions. Just another rip off in New Orleans of people trying to take advantage of people visiting.

Meh- lovely staff and the reader herself was friendly. Sadly she asked me too many leading questions prior to my reading and this made me question the authenticity. I was asked about my career, relationship status and if I wanted to get married/have children. I much prefer a cold reading and therefore was disappointed. $35 for ten minutes and a CD. I would have preferred my money on the psychic readers in Jackson Square- same odds of getting a credible reading.

Spent $35 for this guy to flip pretty much every card in the deck up and tell me how great my life is, how loved I am, how I am going to make a lot of money in the future, I’m going to get a great new job, great health, etc. That isn’t life. Life is a rollercoaster. Apparently, mine is only going to be great. What a joke. He saw my wedding ring so inferred my husband was so in love with me and assumed we didn’t have kids I’m guessing bc I look young and tiny and was in NOLA without them, and said you guys don’t want kids? We have three kids. So, I told him he said you have a daughter who loves to sing and dance, sure I said, I mean what girl doesn’t? Pretty good odds. Btw, my dad died last month, pretty big life event. Interestingly, he kept saying what great health I’m in, I have an autoimmune condition and am not the picture of health that I look to be. Nothing about my triumphs. Nothing personal at all. Terrible. Don’t get your cards read here.

Aurora Lee was my reader -- I got a tea leaf reading and a small tarot spread. It was fun, Aurora was personable and trustworthy. But note that if you want a joint reading or someone to sit in with you, thats not allowed (which sort of makes sense given the space of the booths). The woman working to front counter was frazzled, pushy, and kind of unpleasant, which dampered the entire experience. My boyfriend waited for me during my reading and said that several customers seemed confused by the service (including us).

I have visited Otis at Bottom of the Tea Cup twice. Overall, it is a really nice shop with friendly staff and great ambiance. Otis did a joint reading for my wife and I and foretold the birth of our two sons, our move to Boston, and our sons birth date! I think it is worth a stop when you are in NOLA.

I went for a read because i saw someone post about them on Instagram. The experience was okayAruro lee was my reader i just felt like i had to give to much information up. I guess i just wanted someone to naturally read my energy. Honestly, i would past, but then again it wasnt bad. I just expected a little more genuine reading not going off info i gave up.Im editing my post, because I went for a second reading and had a genuine experience. I believe Patricia was who I had but I cant remember. I also took friends to this location multiple times, and they too had a good experience. The only tip I will give is that if you decide to visit, in order to get a genuine reading try to give them as less information as possible. They will ask a few general questions, but try to give what they need but not so much, thats how you will know your experience is genuine.

I love getting a least a nice cup of tea and a good story for my money. Get a ten minute session to have a Tarot card reading and remember to request a reading of your palm. Plus you get a CD of the reading included in the price along with your tea or water.
