I did an instacart order here. The bagger did a horrorible job. He put hot items on top of soft foods etc, Just a mess. He also did not double any bags and overfilled them causing a majority of the bag handles to rip. Im not taking it personally because I know a developmentaly delayed person when I see one.
Dont go here for regular grocery shopping. As the name says, you stop and you shop. You dont make plans for this, you go here if you forgot apple juice at Wegmans and dont want to go all the way there.Products are good but not great, the choice of food is fairly narrow.Dont expect much, but for pass by grocery shopping it does the trick.
I am new into the neighborhood, recently moved into my apartment on 2nd ave, came to grab some small items to clean and cook with. As I am approaching the register at self-checkout - one of the workers comes from behind his register and begins to stand directly beside me as I am ringing out my items. At first I thought it was just weird behavior until I went outside and over heard another black woman on the phone with her significant other explaining the same exact situation. Racially profiled
A lot of the Stop & Shops in the area are bigger, but this one is meant to cover the basics and also compete with the services that other markets have. The prepared foods section includes a buffet. The market provides the regular foods and goods that you would find in a supermarket, but be aware that specialty items or the choice of brand is limited. This is reasonable because the space is limited. The biggest benefit of this supermarket is the area it is in, there are not any markets close to the area, making it hard to get to. Needham Street is traffic ridden during certain times of the day, so traveling on it to get to a supermarket is time consuming. This makes the Stop & Shop a time saver.Head over there and check it out. Its a good spot for lunch, or tonights cooked meal. Just be prepared to check out your own products.
Multiple pork cuts were dark brown and obviously bad. Chicken packages were open and covered in chicken juice
You need more people next to self checkout register. All the groceries doesn’t fit on the tray. Then I just have to wait for someone to clear the comp so i can continue checking myself out. Bad design, too close to each other. Basically bad experience if there’s more than 4 people trying to check out at once. Glad you saving on employees.
Its okay. The store is smaller than most so the selection isnt great. The produce arent the best and they only have a few cuts of meat. Good enough for small shopping trips to fill out what you need but I wouldnt use it as your primary grocery store.
Bad experience in self check out, some body come to check behind you, according your ethnicity. Moody people working there.
Bare shelves, poor layout, poor selection of produce and witnessed a employee being rude to an elderly person. Only needed a couple things on the way home, but left empty handed. Not worth the time in traffic or making a left turn on Needham street.
The choice is excellent. The stuff is very nice and polite. My husband andI like to express our special appreciation for Adayada Rodezno. She is very kind, professional and helpful. She alway makes our day.
Not like the usual shop and stops..very limited ..
Food was great, I really enjoyed it.
Shelves not properly stocked
They have a great looking product arrangement, the place is also very tidy. The lines at the cashiers move pretty fast. Highly recommended.
Very good quality of goods sold in this supermarket. The place is clean and tidy too. The employees and the manager are friendly people too.
Yea, not sure what to say here. You know, Stop and Shop
Love going to buy my goods in this supermarket. The staff are very friendly people who address one with respect. Loved the service here.
Great place to shop for your favorite goods and produce. The staff is a very friendly lot. The lines move pretty fast too.
Easy to access from the Greenway!
Very well stocked with various items that one can think of. Very friendly staff too. Will definitely go again. Thank you!
Great variety of items to choose from. The supermarket is located in a very strategic place. The prices set are affordable too.
It was clean. They only have self checkouts.
I shop here very frequently and the placement is very convenient. The selection is decent although this particular store is a bit on the small side. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Fresh meat and poultry. Sales occur regularly enough to compete with bigger chains like Wegmans a good amount of the time. Majority of the checkouts are self service. To reiterate, be aware this store is a bit on the smaller side so you may not be able to find everything, but its sufficient for my everyday grocery needs.
Best than average Stop and shop
This review its was all about the cashier, she was so rude, I told her 3 times the same thing and she lied to me.That time I was upset. Thank u for your response. Ill change the review to 4 star.
It was Christmas eve and I was leaving work in need of a whole chicken. Luckily I stopped by when I did because, this location had one left. My lucky night huh? Nice small location. Not like your average stop & shops. Its pretty much a stop and go. Not too crowded. Youre in and out.
So I posted this a year ago and guess what -- they STILL dont have the orange juice thing right. Honestly that is the only reason I would go there. Prices are high and there is no local produce. (Breads are good enough.)I just dont understand why after two years they cant figure out how to squeeze a bunch of oranges. Honestly, I wouldnt care except that on those rare occasions when they do have it, it is the best in town and well worth the trip.Below is the original review. This is an average of a 5 star review for the quality of their fresh orange juice and 1 star for their complete, utter, total, unmitigated inability to carry it regularly, especially the quarts or half gallons. Honestly I wouldnt care about their total incompetence if it werent excellent juice, as good as the finest hotels. But it is excellent juice, and thats what makes it so frustrating. On one occasion I even called ahead to make sure they had it, got there in five minutes...and they didnt have it. (They did make some for me in the back room after a mutual friend who happened to be there called the manager over.)I once asked them: Why is it that you always run out of orange juice? The reply was -- no joke -- Because we cant keep it in stock.
I went into the store yesterday and unintentionally forgot to wear my mask. A worker saw me and instead of asking nicely to wear a mask, he followed me to the aisle I went to and was staring at me. I said “what?” and then he told a worker that was in the same aisle I was in that I wasn’t wearing a mask. I apologized and went to my car to get it. He should’ve told me right away when he saw me instead of following me, staring, and telling a worker when he could of told me himself in the beginning.
A great place to shop with flexible hours for those who dont have time to shop until after their shift is over, it really helps that they close at 10pm most days. They have a good selection of items and a quick self checkout area. Im hoping that all Stop and Shops will eventually be like this one, having self checkouts and a nice building design.
What a nice grocery store! So clean and everything is really compact. I didnt have a chance to do a full grocery store run, but it seemed to have everything a bigger store would have, with a focus on organic and local products. Really cool hot/salad bar area too.
Very poor hospitality.
A very good supermarket. Best features Samples... There are also quick lines most of the time and staff are very welcoming and willing to answer any questions within reason
Good place for quick shopping. Bakery department and Sushi are my favorite. Convenient location and self checkout registers. Helpful staff.
Stop and get ripped off as usual
The review previously posted complained about lack of ramp access from roadway and parking to the store. THIS HAS BEEN VERY BEAUTIFULLY CORRECTED. In one location a curb cut has been made and at the front door the roadway has been raised to the level of the sidewalk which has also created an extended speed bump. This work has made the store accessible and the parking area much safer. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Stop and shop at this location its Horrible behond imaginations the manager there ( woman) forgot her name shuld be fired on the spot very rude un polite i dont understand how she got to be a manger and as she is a manger also the worker there especualy on the register guy name Ben horoble horoble worker last time i shop there he pack my stuff with the eggs and the havy bottles in the same bag and the mommet i come home all was broken --very smart when i confront him with what he did he start laughing i ask the manager for the main office customer service phone number she told me to google it and refuse to help ...can you belive it? go to other stop and shop location and you will have a beter experiance untill they will change those employees hope some one in corporate is actually reading the review/ complaint i put here
A lot of prepared food outdated. Including yogurts. Deli guy has no hospitality!!!
Kind of small. Meaning the aisles are hard to navigate. Ive shipped there twice and it was always so crowded and hard to get around. Its a nice looking store though.
If you know how to pick out healthy food, they have it. Great prices. Good eats and friendly service!
A very nice, but small, store. More upscale than most of their locations, catering to the nearby lunch crowd and folks looking for odds and ends for dinner.
I’m not going to say it was bad but it was definitely confusing, they had a wide selection but the checkout was set up like a 7-11. It was small for a super market but had a good selection. Could do better with prepared food though
Fancy looking market. Small so dont expect to do a full shopping. But they do carry a little bit of everything.
What a wonderful store!! Stocked very well, lots of employees to help. Great produce, prepared foods, deli, etc.Great selection of hot wheels, too for your holiday shopping for just $1.Only thing is that parking and Needham St in general is a pain. Other than that, it is worth checking out!
Though the place is small there is an excellent selection of products. The way they do that is by having a limited number of brands for each product. Also the staff were super happy and helpful.
Very good
The customer service manager is rude with no people skills. My change got jammed and the customer service attendant got 1 of my dollars out but I’d to get her front end manager to get the other one out. The woman came over, didn’t greet me at all, and it was taking a while so it said it’s ok mam I’ll just take this dollar the other ones not a big deal. The woman didn’t apologize or say a word to me at all. Very rude. Very inconsiderate.
Good chicken
Great place for some quick shopping. Very clean facility with a decent selection of products.
I love this place Its so convenient what they need to do is get their Little Debbie cakes because what Stop & Shop doesnt have Little Debbie cakes but its a great place and Im happy to support them . Everyone is very helpful here and nice 👍👍👍.
If a hot breakfast bar is offered it should be ready in the morning. It was still empty at 9:10 . Reliability is what makes people come back. I am disappointed.
First time Ive been to this new location. Its just like the regular stop & shop just a mini size. Found everything I needed and quickly used the self check out.
Perfect location. Right next to Boston ballet school.
Quick location, all self check out. Great for a quick stop
My to-go place for grocery shopping. Like it.
This is the worst stop & shop you could possibly go to. The produce section is despicable and always has more rotten vegetables than good. I asked for help with cantaloupes on several occasions and i was ignored by an associate named Katherine. She was extremely rude to me and I waited for her to come back to me with help and she never returned. I have also purchased produce from this location that i’ve gotten sick from. Don’t waste your time shopping here.
Unlike any stop & shop youve ever seen before the new and improved. The Needham Street experience.
The cooked salad bar was excellent.
Convenient, fast (good inexpensive salad bar), excellent bakery, but a little more expensive than expected.
I stopped in a few days before the 4th to pick up some bread and was surprised at the selection, so I came back to do a full shopping trip this past week. Deli workers were friendly and the store was clean, but people working checkout stared when I checked out my own groceries, and just overall seemed like they didn’t know what to do with themselves. Easy to overlook the negative things. However! The produce went bad almost as soon as I brought it home. 2 packages of raspberries, and 2 packages of strawberries MOLDY three days later. But they must have been riiiiiiiight on the cusp and workers kept them out past when they were supposed to.Disappointed overall. Really sad considering they’re newish to the area, and I’ve had good luck with stop & shops in my hometown. No full shopping trips from here on out, just packaged foods (and you can bet I’ll be checking the date on everything).
Stop & Shop Express: Trading product diversity for convenience. This place is definitely targeted to the commutors that work in the area. Overall it suffers from the same issues as many of the stores in this particular area of Needham. You wont find exactly what youre looking for, but the area was desperate for a grocery store so its sufficient enough I guess. The paper bag only policy is a little annoying so make sure you take bags in with you. The staff is nice but the checkout people bag everything SUPER SLOWLY, so self checkout is always faster. Dont shop here for toiletries or baby supplies as inventory is very limited. Best time to go is after 7 as the place is empty.
Some items are priced a little higher than their other stores, the hot food bar is very good, and their salad bar also.
Im not going back to a store where they dont have any employees. For the price of veggies,I shouldnt have to figure out the code and type it into the machine. Actually, for what theyre charging, the one person working there should follow me home and cook them for me. I went in to buy two packages of steak. One package of steak was labeled wrong, and another rang up wrong on the self check out.
Management is horrible except Christie. Shes awesome and so is Leo
Not bad. Smaller than most. Great salad bar.
Conveniently placed, well stocked, and friendly staffed. 100% recommended
Brand spankin new, clean and Shiney. Smaller then most local supermarkets with an underwhelming but overpriced selection of groceries. Im sure they are depending on the condos next door to stay in business but if I lived there, I would take the short drive to Chestnut Hill for a far more satisfying grocery experience (both in price and selection). Even a few short blocks away lurks a smaller specialty market that still manages to have a wider selection of goods.I did not dislike this Stop and Shop but it did not ear the full three stars either. At best I would rate it a meh.
The associates were both pleasant and helpful
Great spot always for me
Priced okay, limited selection however. Nit too crowded though, and got in and out of there in good time.
This store did not have much prepared food though. Employees were very helpful.
No fish section (unless you count two sad pieces of shrink-wrapped cod) and meat selection is limited. Prices are high. Self-checkout takes a while. Parking lot is a zoo. Ok for getting one or two things, but doesn’t work as a family shopping place.
Small but convenient supermarket. Parking is not always easy.
This is basically a bfresh, with the Stop & Shop name. The prices are far more reasonable than at bfresh, however.
No convenient ramp to take a shopping cart to the vehicle. Ramp for handicap access is oppisite direction of store entrance.
Expensive
Great service and really good food!
Convenient location but kind of mediocre compared to other options in Newton.
Everyone I shop I find items that have exceeded their expiration date. This could make you sick.
Is this a new one because I work at the stop n shop in Allston MA
I liked Stop and shop
People are awesome!
The produce was rotting on the shelves and within days of expiration. Poor variety in basic/staple products. Very expensive! Even other stop and shop stores.
Nice area, with the new Stop & Shop logo
Stop, shop and go!
It is a grocery store
Good place for shopping
Why is there no selection of anything good my horse friends dont like it
Great
Good
My go to!
