I am new to Norcross and my favorite truck and baby I have owned for over 20 years started making noises. Came to Joel’s and they found the problem and fixed it quickly. I was so happy I had them fix transmission leaks no one else could do. Owners are honest and you will get 5 star service.

I definitely would not recommend this place anymore. I came in to have a diagnostic done on my vehicle. The owner or manager was kind enough not to charge me but I suppose I made a comment that really set him off. I do not know a lot about cars and communicated that I just wanted to double check the repairs and cost because it’s hard to find a good shop being that a lot of them will try to get over on you . He starting yelling at me in a threatening behavior and tone. I tried to assure him that I wasn’t accusing him of getting over on me. I just wanted to be sure that the issue would be fixed . He continued to insult me . I told him that his behavior was completely unprofessional and he continued to say “ I don’t care “, “ I don’t care”. I was afraid the guy was going to try and hit me or something. He stormed back into the work area demanding that they stop working or looking at my vehicle in the middle of service. I would definitely not come back here simply because the behavior of this person was very threatening. There was no excuse for this behavior. I was not yelling at him or being disrespectful in my language or tone. He does not need to be working with the public ..

I come here usually for basic work like emissions, but it looks like they’re renovating and they have high hopes for this place. I believe they’re under new management and they care about the experience their customers get.

I took my Truck here twice. The first time they quoted me like $850. It ended up not being what we thought and I paid like $400. This time they replaced my water pump for $460. It took a day and again they were very professional. My brother in-law and sister have both taken vehicles here and were satisfied as well. Unfortunately they informed my sister that her engine was ruined. The first photo is of the drive shaft or whatever they replaced last year and the 2nd and 3rd are of the water pump they replaced on 12-10-2020. I highly recommend Joel Auto Repair. They are unusually trustworthy for this industry.

Took my F150 to go mudding in Lanier found out something was wrong with the Daggum transmission. Went to Joels and talked with Mo for the price. Let me tell you something you can’t find any better daggum deal other than here in Georgia. YEEE YEEE

I’ve got 3 old cars that I’ve been bringing to Joel for various repairs over the past 2 years. At least 15 - 20 different times. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews I’ve read. Maybe people who had 1 bad experience for whatever reason who never came back. Well, I’m a repeat customer and I recommend them highly.This shop is great. Everyone’s extremely nice and friendly, and Genes a fantastic mechanic. Very conscientious. Always a fair price and won’t fix something if it’s not needed.Keep in mind this is a hole-in-the-wall place on Buford Hwy. It is neither clean nor fancy. If you want a big, pristine auto repair shop who’ll do unnecessary work and charge you an arm and a leg for all their fantastic customer service, Joel is not the place for you. These are just honest folks who do good work and try to save you money on repairs. I like that.

I bought a 2002 Suburban on craigslist, naturally I was a little worried of what problems I might not know about. Sure enough when I parked it in my driveway it was leaking oil. I knew a little about the problem and I had to have my Rear Main Seal changed. I called around and got some prices in the area. I didnt have a domestic car mechanic that I used. I called and spoke to Matthew who was very polite and was able to get me a quote for the issue I was having. Matthew was professional and had great customer service. The quote was a little lower than most in the area so I made an appointment. I was also unsure about what mechanic to trust and I saw the reviews about Joels shop. The reviews are right they are honest and provide good service. I had a few other items that were leaking too and they gave me a good price on those as well. Altogether I had a great experience and I will continue to use them for my domestic car mechanics. MY DRIVEWAY is Clean again and the car has ZERO leaks!

Ive been going to Joels for the last five years, and have been disappointed with the service lately. I used to enjoy going and chit-chatting with the desk guys and the mechanics, and never felt like i was being taken advantage of service or bill-wise just for being a woman. They changed ownership recently, and Ive been more and more uncomfortable spending time and money in the shop, and have gone out of my way to avoid it. After searching other mechanics in town, Ernest Auto right down the street goes above and beyond, and Ill be sending everyone I know there instead of telling them about Joels.

They will try to make you get something you do not need and have make other issues to your car so they can get more money from you. I took my car to a different place and was advised that they was trying to get more money from me plus I got my car repaired for 50% cheaper than what they said. Be careful when going to this place. They are unprofessional and the employees are always leaving and the one that stay is paid on how much he can repair and pricing. Go somewhere else.

I was in dare need of Rotors and brakes; Joel and his staff where very kind and helpful and fixed my issue. They gave me a ride home when i dropped off my vehicle and called me when it was ready. I came in to get my brakes done about a week ago and i must say i am very glad I found this place. Very affordable and the owner was extremely nice and honest. i checked around several places brake service and he had the best prices in the area. I was told it would take about an hour and a half to do the job but they completed the job in about 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get their brakes done!

STOP READ. This place is a scam,Took my car because it making noises. They told me that was the computer. After change it and charge me $800 the car didn’t start. I told them that I was going to take it to another shop. They didn’t want to give my car back. After I payed them $800 also they stole the old computer that was good because that wasn’t the problem. So if you don’t want to be ripped out do not got here.!!

Had an appt with another mechanic on 8/13/18 and they told me I had a crack that was leaking transmission fluid and it was $250 to fix but they were just very rude during the whole visit . so I went on google for another shop and found I called him last min and he told me to bring it in 8/ 12/18 (which was the next day) just to get another opinion before I spend all that money I took the car in greeted with a smile everyone was so happy and friendly . I told him what was going on and he went to take a look. After looking over everything he actually brought me in the work area while the car was lifted to show me that THERE WAS NO CRACK! There wasn’t even a leak . He told me the check engine light was on because the temperature sensor was broken .all I needed was an oil change there wasn’t any oil I’m the car . So $250 turned into 50 bucks . I highly recommend this place great experience 😁😁

Had to get my bearings replaced and mechanic Eugene made it happen in great timely manner, did everything right and was super nice! Priced me fairly. Gave me advise on what else could be upgraded in my car. The most important of all the whole team here works on REALLY fixing your vehicle not fixing the way you have to be back in a week to fix something else. Most of these auto repair shops will fix the problem you have with your car, if they fix it, but they will do something to it so something else brakes in a week and you have to go back to them over and over again.. No dirty business here at Joel auto repair. I will recommend this place to all of my friends and I recommend it to you!

Wonderful experience dealing with the team at Joels Auto. Richard and Gene are knowledgeable and bring a sense of integrity to their work. I had work done on my suspension (struts, strut mounts and tire arm bushings). It can be daunting as a female going to a mechanic, but they walked me through the repairs they did and showed me cost comparisons to ensure i got the best deal. I brought my car (2004 Acura TL) in because my radiator fluid started leaking from bottom of my car while heading home from my work. I had to stop at a gas station to let the car cool down so I did some research for auto repair shops around me on my phone. I read few reviews and decided on Joel Auto Repair and man am I glad that I did. They fixed my car correctly and they were super pleasant to work with. I will be getting all my auto repairs at Joels in the future

In my honest opinion, this place is a rip off. The shop is very dirty. I brought my vehicle here for repair like a year ago and when I paid and picked it up my car broke down for good. They lied about diagnostic and refused to refund over $600 for supposedly heating core repair. I am sick of auto repair places taken advantage of people. When I brought it there attention they told it must be something else, however I BEG THE DIFFER. My vehicle had no fluid top off and when repair heating core your supposed to replace fluids there no antifreeze in my vehicle. They refused to give me one penny of my money back. I have contacted the BBB in hopes to get my money back. My car broke all the way down after I picked it up from this repair shop.

This is one of the cheap and best place to repair your auto. Stepped more than 15 auto service to fix my Valve cover Gasket change and none of then were ready to fix it for less. Finally I found Joel and they did it for cheap and my car runs like new now...Great job!!!!!

These guys always have a good deal and are down to earth. My main complaint is their front desk is unreliable and careless. I left my car with them on a Friday afternoon, called Saturday morning to check the status: I was told theyd get to it and give me a call back that day...they did not, and I have no way of getting to work Sunday, because theyre closed, or Monday. Again, good pricing and reasonable and I do recommend them. You have to take charge with calling them however, because you might get hosed if you dont.

I rarely write reviews but felt it necessary this time. I wish I wouldve read his reviews before patronizing this establishment. Long story short, I went in to get an emissions test. The mechanic had to get involved to put a cover back onto the car that was removed by the emissions tech. Joel comes out and talks to the mechanic like he was a 2 year old because he was touching my car without his permission. Unbeknownst to me, the emission tech is independent. How am I the customer supposed to know the difference between bays 1,2,&3?!? I pull Joel to the side and basically tell him that was a grown man, I am a customer and he shouldve handled it out of my sight. He tells me sorry I feel that way and its his shop. No respect for his employees nor customers.

After that I ended up finding a very affordable honest and respectable mechanic through a friend who hooked my car up to a computer that gave him a code with a message complete the tune up My mechanic told me that whomever said they gave my car a tune up only did half of it and not all of it, therefore they took my money and lied. My mechanic then went in and looked and indeed found that they only did half a tune up. My mechanic is now fixing that for me at no additional charge. Luckily there are still some good and honest human beings left on this planet. SMH!I already could tell these people were grimy shiesty a**holes from the jump. One of the guys had an attitude when I was asking why would a tune up cost $250 and had horrible customer service. The owner Joel will beg you for a 5 star review after screwing you, and offer a free oil change in exchange for a review, even though they didnt actually do their job. So my review is to save people from wasting money. Because obviously this scam of trading good fake reviews for a free oil change, is actually working. Check their reviews on yelp though. Just moved from Utah to Georgia and I had the same car mechanic for 13 years. Its so hard to find someone you can trust. Im here for grad school and Joel helped get our emissions and state inspection done for Utah. He is so honest and is willing to help with anything. I also had him change my oil and check out my tires from the cross country trip here. 5/5 stars for sure. Im so glad I found Joel and will be telling friends about him. Thanks to the whole crew to, if you catch them around lunch sometimes they BBQ and everyone is welcome.

I went there to get my car fixed and I wouldnt even give them one star. The mechanic Eugene did a great job! But the PASTOR is sick and will sexually harass you and take your number off the paperwork to use for his own personal use. He will send you inappropriate text messages. How can you call yourself a PREACHER and sexually harass customers. Hes definitely not a godly man as he betrayed himself to be.STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THE FAKE PASTOR!!!!

DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE! I got my car towed here and I told them what was wrong with me car but they went ahead and did a repair on the clutch instead of fully diagnosing it first. I also told them to check my alternator and battery and they didnt do a thing. The mechanic said he didnt know my car had 6 gears after I paid and he said my car could drive with no problems from gear 1-5 and turns out I have no first gear anymore and its driving just as bad as it was before. Im out $500 and a messed up car thats completely dead now. They will not hesitate to scam you. And I shouldve went with my gut feelings after my first cinsultation from the vibe I got.

This place is a scam hole. Don’t come in here!!!! I’ve spent too much time and too much money to get back a junk car. My car have some leaking problems which I didn’t know what happen and discribe to him that I smell coolant leaking. I want them to check and see if they can fix it. They finally called and said they found a problem with the radiator pump and that’s where the coolant is leaking from. We paid almost $500 to fix that and replace the part. We drive the cars for 2 days, and find that our heater doesn’t heat up and the same leaking problem continued, we called, we came they checked again and found nothing wrong. They asked us to bring our car to the dealership and check on the engine. After the dealer checked on the engine and spent another $100 for this. The dealership said our engine was fine. We bring the car back and they check again for 2 days found a water pump tention and belt broken and had to pay another $200, drive it for about 3 weeks, backed with the same problems. Bow they saod another part has problem and they can’t fix it regardless of each time we come in we asked if what they did would fix our leaking problem for good and they said yes. I feel liked I just got scam and spent almost $1000 to get my car in worst shape. This time we come and the service manager and the machanic that worked on our before are gone. They office clerk just said they quit. We got to talked to another guy who saod their shop doesn’t care or take responsibility for other parts of my car broken down and they can’t do nothing at this point to get my car going again.I would not recommend anyone to come here and get SCAMMED! Stay a way if you can! They care absolutely nothing about your car and can’t do nothing to fix the problem without making it worst.

Called for a qoute..they didnt know what i was talking about....Wanted my wheel bearings pressed out and pressed in ONLY... with me bringing the part OFF the car....They wanted to charge me 170....every where else was 100 or less..give or take a couple dollars...

Probably top 3 worst companies I ever dealt with. They straight up lied to me over the phone saying they were the owner until order to get me to give them my credit info over the phone BEFORE the work was even done . So I had questions about that process and wanted to talk about it. He put the phone down a few seconds and said, Yeah Im Joel whats your Credit card number.. Then when I stated he sounds just like the person I talked to earlier...Yeah sorry for lying. What?! Is this a joke? Ive never taken time out to write about a company but I actually chose them because they had such high ratings. But the customer service they had was awful. They had my car 4 days before I knew what was wrong with it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
