I didn’t bother letting them do my hair, because it seemed to be a problem that I set an appointment according to their regulations. Their site specifically asks you to make appointments at specific times. I set my appointment for 1PM as listed. I was getting a simple style that did not include shampoo and blowout, so I was at home doing this myself when I received a call asking me to “come earlier than 1”. I asked how much earlier and the caller just said sooner than 1. I informed her I would come as soon as I finish blowing out my hair. As you can see, at 11:35 I was asked if I was on my way. Seeing as my appointment was set for 1PM, I did not appreciate feeling rushed when I already agreed to come “earlier”. Low and behold, another client was booked at an unlisted time, that didn’t make sense whether I was early or right on time for my appointment. What’s the point of having a booking site if you don’t honor appointments?? I’ve never experienced such a thing as a stylist texting and calling me as if I was the problem, knowing they already violated my appointment. Can’t do business with red flags prior to even arriving.

Overall, they did an excellent job on my knotless braids. These are by far the best knotless braids I’ve gotten. I only gave this place four stars as they did not start at my appointment time. I had to wait about an hour for them to start which I did not like since I had an appointment that was scheduled weeks in advance.

This was my first time ever getting braids (knotless box braids) and I absolutely LOVE THEM! The atmosphere was very friendly, clean and professional. The stylists were excellent and thorough. It took a bit longer than I expected, but that was ok (next time I’ll book that 6:30am slot!). I highly recommend this salon.

It seems like they dont update their booking times and dont check the appointments when they are booked. Ive booked an appointment, showed up, and everyone acts like no one got the notification but I clearly have a confirmation email in my phone. They are nice and friendly unless you have short hair. They argue within each other but clients can hear them. Parts are never even and I always have way more braids on one side of my head than the other when getting box braids.

I love this place. Granted you may pay a few extra bucks for your style but their cleanliness and professionalism is worth it. My knotless braids came out perfect. I got a touch up a couple of months later and they still look great. They have my service from here on out.

I paid to get two strand twist for my mini fro which I am able to get and have done myself before which tool 1hr 45mins came into the shop was told that they couldn’t two strand twist my hair, gave me a different option and the option was for a comb twist style that took 1hr and was only done with a comb and got my hair washed also and was charged $90 for something I didn’t want, washed out my hair the next day, and the price was never said nor set. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS TRASH BUSINESS IT AN ABOMINATION!!!!

Just a consultation but won’t be back. What got me was the 10 mins I was in there I saw a lady NOT wearing a mask. The workers had a mask but the owner/manager did not. I thought that was unprofessional because you can’t look at anyone and tell if they sick or not and I feel like the salon prices are already kinda expensive so it’s only right to spare no expense on a mask. Especially if you own the shop.The ladies in the shop do seem to be polite but also kinda careless at the same time. It’s still a pandemic. I felt like even in those few minutes I could’ve been exposed to Covid because I was standing kinda close to the owner that didn’t wear a mask. Maybe like 2 feet away from her. So that kinda upset me a little.

I always get my hair braided here and the service is fast, quality, and very professional. My braids last very very long, hair is provided, and the styles are always excellent. There’s truly nothing they don’t do there! Georgette and Mai are my go-to’s for booking 💜

Used service in the past with no problems. New stylist, had no supplies (comb, jam, foam). Went for crochet left looking a hot mess. My mom encouraged me to go back and make her fix it but - not much fixing to be done because she had me buy the wrong hair instead of using the same hair I used before with the original stylist Spent $220 for my daughter and $150 for this awful style in 2 weeks. They’ve lost my business forever. Already found a new braided today.

They did a fabulous job on my daughters’ hair! This is not your typical braiding salon. It is organized, beautifully decorated and even has a cute boutique inside. The stylist work fast and the receptionist is so friendly! I will definitely be coming back!

Just had my daughter’s hair done (box braids) for the second time at this salon. Mia started right on time and was finished in 3 1/2 hours (including a wash & condition). Everyone was very friendly. The shop was clean & comfortable for waiting. My daughter (5) said it didn’t hurt at all. We love her braids! Nikki did her hair the first time we went and also did a beautiful job. We’ll definitely be back!

Maria and her staff are hands down the best. The in home hair braiding was just as easy as being in the salon. They make you feel comfortable and do an unbelievable job!!

Staff would switch out randomly without communicating, which led to me having twists that are very uneven in size as well as being looser and tighter depending on the section. During my last appointment, one woman seemed to forget to tie the ends of the twists she did, and I didn’t realize until 2 days later when about 1/3 of my twists have begun to unravel. I’ve gotten my hair done at this salon three times. The first two times were okay, not bad enough to travel further away to a better salon, but considering I’ll have to get my hair redone after my last visit, I will absolutely not return. Very unprofessional

The person doing my hair was too busy helping someone try on dresses. A one hour hairstyle took 3 hours. She charged $120 for jumbo lemonade braids because I needed 2 extra braids added, burned me with the hot towel and still charged the same price. These young ladies used to be fair but are absolutely ridiculous. Oh yeah, I told her to be careful with my edges and she pulled them out anyway.

Got my hair braid here this past Saturday and they did a great job! Very professional staff and they were done with my box braids in 3 hours!! Yes, 3 hours. They were very accommodating to my needs and I love how the salon looks. Went here on a recommendation from a friend and Ive already recommended to another friend and co-worker. Will definitely be going back!

Love Nia Soule Salon. I exclusively have my hair styled here. I refuse to go anywhere else and have done so for over a year because of the quality of the work every single time. My stylist changes monthly but the quality is still the same! Love it!!

1hr wait time & White Flaky productI scheduled an appointment a month in advance for two feeder braids as I was going on a cruise. I arrived to my appointment 5 min early in preparation for a quick 30-45 min appointment. I walked in and at first no one spoke to me, I had to state that I had an appointment. She grumbled at me that she couldn’t find it. She eventually found my appointment and told me to sit down. I waited for 30 min until I was told that the stylist that was suppose to do my hair had left early because she had something to do. They told me that someone else was going to do my hair once they were finished with another client. I waited another 30 min before I got to sit in the chair.Then while she was doing my hair the lady complained to the entire salon about how hard it was to do and her hand was hurting. The actual braiding only took 30 min. I spent almost 2hrs in the salon for a 40 min style. The owner did give me a $5 discount for waiting for an hour before my appointment. She said it was not usual for this to happen but a lot people had cancelled, so a braider left. If this was the case they could have easily texted me and let me know to come later.When I got home later that night, the product that was used had dried. There were white chunks, that were not smooth and it was flaky. I texted to let her know and sent the pictures. She called me back but essentially brushed me off. Stating that they had to use product in my hair and that it was normal for braids. She didn’t really offer a solution, basically blaming me and my hair. Eventually she said to try to use a blow dryer to melt the product and let her know. At this point I was over it. I had to waste more time trying to get my hair presentable.I have spoken to other stylists and they told me the process/product that was used for my hair was not correct. I had to spend more time to fix my hair before leaving for my vacation in the morning. I was disappointed in the level of service and I didn’t like my hair. I will not return or recommend anyone to Nia Soule salon.

After such a horrible experience with another braiding salon, to experience service from Nia Soule was a breath of fresh air! The customer service is awesome! My braid tech, Maimouna, made me feel so comfortable. She was very pleasant and handled my natural hair with care. My Senegalese twist look great! The other braid tech who joined in to ensure quick service was great as well. If you want a salon with a relaxing environment, not over crowded, and a staff with professional, excellent customer service....then choose Nia Soule.

I got my hair braided a few days ago and I couldnt be more satisfied! Nia was very professional answering all my questions over the phone and took me the same day. She was genuine in her consultation of my hair and I actually changed my style choice upon her advisement based on my lifestyle and what would last. I was very skeptical (as I indicated a few times) but her sincere and calm personality and spirit took that away very quickly. I really love this salon the atmosphere is nice, the attitudes are very welcoming and warm. I am getting married next weekend Nia Soule is braiding my hair for my wedding/honeymoon. I want micro-braids my hair has grown since my last braiding not sure if I could the stylist had me to send her pictures of my new length and stated that she can do it Im so happy right now and cant wait to be there this weekend!!!

I got my hair braided for the first time last year and it was so beautiful. So I decided to go back. Although the ladies that braided my hair was very nice. The braids were all different sizes and came out within a week. I called back and expressed my disappointment. I was given an appointment to getctue issues fixed. It was worse. I ended up going t9 another shop getting the braids removed and re done. My money and time was wasted very disappointed

I got my hair braided. The stylists are sociable, friendly and very good at their job. The amount was the same price when I called before hand and when I had to check out. My braids were the correct length and width and has lasted me almost two months. Great salon!

My 3 sisters and I have been going for over 7 years and weve watched the salon expand to 3 more locations, to include Dallas Texas! They take pride in their ouchless braids. Ouchless meaning the braids are not tight or painful! I have lived all over the world and I always come back to Nia Soule for the best braid experience. The salons are immaculate, staff is professional and courteous, you will never have a long wait, they get you in and out as fast as possible with quality braids that you will be happy with! You must give them a try!

I had heard a lot of good things about Maria and Nia Soule, but still I remained skeptical. I have had my hair braided before and you know. I got my hair braided today, and ladies good is not good enough! Lets try acceptable, boss, choice, congenial, deluxe, excellent, exceptional, favorable, first-class, first-rate, gnarly, gratifying, great, marvelous, pleasing, positive, prime, rad, shipshape, splendid, sterling, stupendous, super, super-excellent, superb, superior, tip-top, up to snuff, welcoming, wonderful, and worthy.

I came in to get box braids. I got long braids. I was there no longer than 4 to 5 hours. (Very good timing) My head did not feel too heavy and too tight. Peace was my hair braided. Shes great! Great work! Friendly & a great calm setting. I will continue to come to Peace for my braids, excellent work! Great personality as well.

My experience was good and everyone was nice and professional. The lady who braided my hair (Georgette aka Georgia) was nice and even helped me with picking out my hair. I did advised not to braid was tight due to my scalp is sensitive. She said okay and my hair came out really cute, but when I left my head was hurting and my scalp was very red and tender. I figured Ill give it another day and see if it improves. Well the next day was worse. My scalp was red, swollen, tender, and starting to form bumps. Its was time to take them down at that time, so it lasted a full 24 hours. I probably wont be going back, but if anyone else does and dont like super tight braids please make sure they REALLY understand the meaning.

Ive been coming to Nia Soule for years now and there are several reasons for my loyalty to this shop. I can schedule my appointment on line or by phone, and can expect a call or text to confirm that appointment. When I show up for my appointment, I never have to wait more than 10-15 to receive service. My braids are always flawless because these women braids with talent and speed. And speaking of speed, I can count on NOT spending an entire day in a chair and can often count on two people braiding my hair. Nia Soule does have a higher price point than shops. But if youre looking for a reliable stylist, a neat and friendly environment, and speedy service, the price is worth it!

Im really iffy about who I allow to touch my hair, especially with braiding since so many of my friends had their hair fall out as a result of braiding salons. This place is awesome! They ask you questions about your hair, your hair type, and scalp sensitivity. Who does that?!My first visit was last yr, summer 2014. When I arrived to my appt, at 5:30 a.m., I was immediately greeted with a smile. These women were so professional and FAST! My style lasted 2 1/2 months. And when I had taken the braids out, there was normal shedding, no clumps, and I still have my edges. I am returning and Ive given their info to mostly anyone I know

When they say ouchless they mean it! It was pain-free, and I was so relaxed that I fell asleep in the chair. My stylist Mai was amazing and put a lot of effort into making sure she got the style exactly how I wanted it. This will now be my go-to salon for braids.

It was good. Only complaints are they used less hair in my twist than I am use to and they only take cash! They charged 25.00 just to wash my hair! I end up paying 215.00!

It was my first time here and it will be my last because of the poor service .. Ill admit the style was very good and I was satisfied with it, but the service they gave me was not up to par. They told me I would be getting my hair done for 31/2 hours to 4 hours, but I was there for NEARLY 7 HOURS . They told me to come in earlier than when I was supposed only to sit there for an hour wait . When it was my turn, I had two people start on my hair and after about two hours one of them left and one was doing my hair. The lady doing my hair was complaining a whole lot about her finger and was braiding very slowly and kept stalling. I paid $180 for a bad service that I will never do again. Im not referring anybody and if yall want better service and cheaper prices this not the place to go.

Friendly staff, but braids were uneven and not equal in size. First braider was amazing, the second came in and began parting, I had to stop her as I could feel she was not actually parting in boxed shapes, when I got home I realized that they were a lot smaller than the others. I reached out for a new appointment but heard nothing. They are usually good and the staff is great, this was my 4th visit Im not sure yet if it will stop me from revisiting, but Ill definitly be more weary while they are working.

I am giving this shop a 2 star because when I called to make the appointment, they told me two people would be working on my hair and it would take 4 hours. The second person did not end up working on my hair until 2 hours in and it took 7 hours to complete. Then a week later I had several of them fall out on the bottom. When I called to let her know she told me to come back and she was soooo nasty and rude about having to put about 5 braids back in at the bottom. I am sorry but I paid $160 plus I left a $20 tip my braids should not have been coming out a week later. The customer service is horrible and I only went to the shop because the reviews where great ! Well they will NOT get my business again.

I have to start off by saying I have never written a review before, but I feel compelled to do so now. I had an appointment at this establishment at 9:00 am and I arrived about 10 mins early. I walked in smiled and said good morning. No one said anything back. I may have gotten a grumble from one of the ladies. I let it go because some people are not morning people. One of the ladies told me to have a seat in her chair so I sat down, and began to take out my two braids that I had in my hair. She saw that my hair was natural and she made a face. Once agian I let it go because i know natural hair can be difficult to do at times. Long story short my hair was still wet in the middle because i had washed it the day before so she had to blow dry it. As she started blow drying it she begans to comb with so much force that it felt like she was ripping my hair out my scalp. I ended up asking her if she does natural hair, and she said no. Then she let me know that she could give me a relaxer!!! That right there is where got offended. I AM BLACK!! This is the hair that I was born with, and she tried to shame me for it? I should have left then but I did not. Needless to say my hair turned out nice, so that is why I gave 3 stars. I want to support black business,but I am so over the self hate. I will never go back.

I use to love this salon. I drive about an hour to get here I loved it so much. Well this past was the worst and my last time. I went in for a take down. The ladies wanted me to pay before they even started because they were in a rush to go home. Umm ok I get that. Well I was told one price because I am a faithful customer and have referred countless people to the salon. They then changed their mind on the price for the takedown. Well i let that go. I had a 5 am appointment the next day. I waited about an hour at the salon before someone showed up. I made it clear when I booked my appointment I had another appointment at 930 that morning!!!! Needless to say their work is amazing and I love my hair. They also have amazing customer service. After leaving the salon I was apologies to for the confusion and that NEVER HAPPENS at any other salon. I will come back again but clarify everything before making that long ride to the salon.

I have had some bad experiences with other african braiding spots, but Nia Salon took the bad experience out of my vocabulary. They do an excellent job!! The ouchless salon It is true!! My braid tech Peace, makes it a point to make sure that my braids are on point (Im picky😆). The best part is that Im never there longer than 4 hours as promised. My search is over for african braiding spots!!!
