I had a fuel line leak located at the fuel filters quick connect inlet. My fuel line popped out and didnt connect fully. I temporarily zip-tied the line to the inlet to prevent major leakage.I called up Sooner Auto Service yesterday, the guys took a look at it, and Dakota ordered a new filter. I came in the next day (today) and gave them the keys. David replaced the filter, pushed the line in, and it clicked. It seems my fuel line was long enough (I thought it was too short) and all was good. It seemed that the only problem was the quick connect inlet.I paid about $172 in total. I necessarily cant complain about the price because I didnt do it. If it was a simple filter replacement it seems a little bit high. Nonetheless, I support the guys, Davids got dirt and grime all over and you can tell he works hard. After paying, I took a look under the car and discovered a leak/slit in the fuel line. I probably must have accidentally cut the line while I was temporarily zip tying it together before I came in to the shop.I walked back in and spoke to Dakota while David took a look at it. They picked up the 5/16 double barb, cut the line, and put it in between. Patched up and no leaks, all good. The only thing is it looked a little bubbly now? I assume someone thought the nylon line could be shrunk with heat, but no qualms. Id probably think/do the same.Considering my laziness to repair it myself, it seems somewhat reasonable, a little high for a simple filter replacement but the second no questions patch work made up for it.Quick Tip: Ask to about price prior to getting service. Just so know one is surprised about what they are paying at the end. This is what I shouldve done. I try my best to place trust in auto shops rather than nitpick as I know all shops can get a bit of flack from other customers. Support the hard working guys, try not to complain too much. Thanks for the hard work David.
Great service. Great prices. And theyre honest! They wont sell you a bunch stuff you dont need. Weve used Sooner Auto for 3 years now to work on our personal cars and theyve taken great care of us. My husband also sends all his fleet trucks from work to Sooner Auto; Dakota gets them serviced and back in the field quickly. I cant recommend them highly enough.
I have been getting my oil services done at Sooner since I moved to Norman three years ago. I moved to OKC last month and I returned to Sooner Auto today because I trust them. The service is quick, the staff is friendly and honest, and the prices are great. They do not try to sell me anything that I do not need. When I went there today I had a leak in my tire and they patched it up and did my oil change in less than 45 minutes. I have never had a bad experience. I usually call ahead to see if they have room to fit in an oil change. I mean it when I say this place is worth the drive. I can count on them!
I have gone here for a couple years. They are honest and stand by their work. I would recommend them.
I’m a college student and I needed my truck fixed ASAP. They got right on it. I took it in that morning and it was done by the middle of the day. I highly recommend this place!
This place is awesome! Great service with very reasonable pricing! I trust these men with all of my vehicles!
Dakota is the man! Been coming here since I got my learners permit 5 years ago, across 3 different cars and Ive never been disappointed. While it hurts to get most repairs done, Im at least happy its you guys Im coming too. Always made me feel very comfortable and typically will walk me through whats happening before it happens. Havent met many of the other people at the shop but Dakotas a solid guy and I imagine the rest are as well.
Awesome service! Dakota and his crew do a great job. They service my personal and work vehicles because they are honest, quick and have great prices.
Good bunch of knowledgeable mechanics. Thank you for all youve done for my car.
Great people work there! Being a woman having to have work on your car is very intimidating, Rachel at the desk kept me informed of everything the mechanics were doing to my car and they treated me like family.
Place is great. And honest.
This should be your first choice for auto repair service in Norman, period. Friendly, honest, and professional. Cant say enough good things. Ask for Asher.
Always providing 100% quality service. If you taking your vechicle any place else, shame on you! These guys honest and really care about their carft.
This is my 3rd time having work done on a vehicle with them. Prices are always on point, they are quick and reliable. I have only been in Norman a year but they are who I will recommend to anyone needing work done on their vehicle. Professional and kind!
Honest and friendly, they are my go to when my clunker starts clunking.
The shop looks sketchy, but the staff seems nice enough. I just wish they knew how to wear masks.
Advertised a brake special, $120.00, I called told them make and model, was not told at that time an SUV was not included in the special, came in next day and price was $180.00. Wasted my time, after looking at brakes they still could not identify whether front or back was squealing, apparently SUV breaks cost $60.00 more than for a car? Autozone 19.99 lifetime warranty pads for car, truck SUV?? False advertising, bait and switch, or just greedy, what ever you want to call it.
Has to be the worst place ever to take any vehicle of any sort to. This place is not trust worthy they will lie to you about your vehicle just to get you to pay for something brought my car in for repair they supposedly repaired it but drove it for less then 2 weeks and the exact same thing is wrong with it again pleases do not give theses people your money you will waste your time and money very unprofessional, rude and slow also makes his own prices up out of nowhere wouldn’t trust them if my life depended on it if you want you car fixed right in a reasonable time do not and I repeat do not take it there unless you want 99 problems and more repairs in the future
Fixed the GFs trailblazer and did a wonderful job. Paid a bit more than expected but was worth it
Sooner Auto is the ONLY place I will take my car. I have been to several other shops around Norman/Moore and I have not dealt with better customer service, quality of service, or just genuinely nice mechanics, than I have here. I have had my fair share of “bad luck” with vehicles and they have helped me out every time. I have always paid the cheapest/most fair prices and they always communicate well and share any updates as soon as they come available. I will continue to keep coming back here. Thanks for all you guys do! Appreciate it 😊
I went in to find out where my AC leak is coming from. I was charged $65, I have no idea where the leak is coming from and nobody communicated with me on what to do next. I didnt need a full AC Service and my $65 will be leaked out in 6 hours or less. I have to go pay more money somewhere else. Definitely learned my lesson.
Straight forward. Average pricing.
Great People!
The guy who helped me (Daniel) was a great help over the phone. I had a mechanic work on my car who was unfamiliar with V-Tech engines and finally had to have it towed to a shop. I chose this shop because it was the closest (didnt want to spend more on towing fees) and when they looked at it, my nightmare came true, I needed a new engine completely. I had it towed off their lot to another body shop 2 miles down the street and had it done for $1,000 cheaper. I dont think they were trying to screw me over, but I dont think they were trying to help save me any money.
Do not use this company. If I could give them a -5 star rating I would. They do not operate with integrity or transparency. My father had the worst experience ever with them. Their management was rude and unethical. They had quoted him a cheaper price than another reputable company telling him it didnt need all the work that they told him it needed. Then proceeded to call him step by step and tell him it needed this and that. Their additional work would have resulted in a complete rebuild of the front end, just as originally stated by the other company and would have costed him significantly more. They also created additional damages to his vehicle. To make matters worse when he referenced his original quote with them, they asked if he had that with him... he replied that he didnt have it in front of him because it was in his center console. They removed the original estimate out of his truck and told him they had no way to reprint the estimate for him when they provided him with a new estimate upon pick up.
They were the most helpful and friendliest mechanics I have been to in a very long time! My water pump went out while driving home to Ft. Worth and I called them at 5 minutes before 6:00 pm (Closing time!) They let me bring my truck to their shop and changed the water pump out, after hours, getting me back on the road in 45 minutes! They saved me another night out of town and did a great job on the repair. They are definitely my new best friends in the auto mechanic world. I cant thank them enough for staying late and helping me out. Thank you, Sooner Auto! If you are in Norman and need a great mechanic, Sooner Auto is the place to go! I would rate them 10 stars if I could...
Quick and easy brake job without the long wait everywhere else.
Being able to trust that your car is in honest earnest hands is priceless. Thank you to the Sooner Auto Service team for six years of peace of mind.
Went in for squeaky brakes and he resolved for a very reasonable rate. Will definitely return for repairs i cant do on my own. Best price in town.
A great job! My daughters car needed some unexpected maintenance/trouble shooting while she was at OU and Sooner Auto Service took care of us. I was impressed by their work, their honesty, and their fair price. They fixed the original problem and advised us of some other engine codes that were displayed that we should have checked by the dealer since they might still be under warranty. I highly recommend them and will use them again.
Ive only been here twice. The first time was a minor repair, but they got it done while I waited and the work was reasonably priced. Yesterday I stopped there for an oil change and I was out of there in about 20 minutes. I appreciate that they didnt try to tell me I needed a radiator flush or air cleaner or whatever else many of the quick lube places pull. They just changed my oil, and I was on my way at a reasonable price. Ill be returning.
You guys ROCK! People dont usually thank businesses for doing there jobs, but you guys do it EXCEPTIONALLY! Speaking for the whole group, I know we all appreciated you making our trip back home safer and more comfortable. The A/C worked so well that some of us actually donned blankets on the way home. thank you for being so quick to help us each time we needed you.Thank you for being very professional and for not showing the least irritation at our multiple visits, may you be blessed for your kindness.very sincerley Mr. WINN
Very competent, honest and trustworthy. This is the best place in the OKC metro to have your vehicle serviced. I used to shop around but this place has always been the best value for any service we need done. Highly recommended.
I randomly went here because they have a bus stop nearby and I havent gone anywhere else. I have never felt pressured to buy anything. They will tell you what is vital and then what you should do to extend the life of your car (but it isnt vital right now). If they ever make a mistake or you dont feel like the car was fixed properly, they will look at it again. Very honest place with very competitive prices.
We have used Sooner Auto for several years and have received fair and honest service.
Great guys. Have always taken care of me and the things that need to be done. Dont try to sell you on until necessary repairs.
Nice bunch of guys. Was my first time using their services. I just showed up without an appointment and they fit me right in to get an oil change, which I usually do myself, but due to the cold weather opted not to. They advised me of a possible simple to repair issue with the vehicle, but didnt try to pressure me into getting it repaired then, neither did they come up with all sorts of extra repairs. They were very timely in getting the oil changed while I waited, and I was in and out of there in a shorter time than expected. The only reason I just gave 4☆ is that since I usually change my own oil using full synthetic, their price for the oil was higher than I pay when buying it myself, but that should be expected given the fact that they are in business to make a profit, but still $7.99/qt is pricey in my mind. Other than that I have no issues with recommending them for an oil change. I had called around and their overall price was comparable to others. Also, dont be surprised if you decide to go there, it is a real independant gas station garage with no frills, they just get the job done which is what matters.
Troy, the owner, quickly vetoed Hondas original analysis of replacing my camshaft as an unnecessary expense. He recommended new brake pads and rotors for a reasonable price and I waited less than an hour for the service. The waiting area does not have wifi, but I happily chatted with the other guests waiting for car repairs (all who have frequented Sooner Auto for more than year with pleasant experiences). I would highly recommend this repair shop if youre looking for a second opinion on services other than your dealership.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! I took my 2007 Odyssey van in yesterday. I was told the alternator needed to be replaced and it would take 2 hours. I walked to a coffee shop and came back 2 hours later to find 2 mechanics watching TV. I asked if my van was ready and a guy said, We just got the part in, it wont be long now. ONE hour later I went to the garage to check on my vehicle. I asked if it was done and a mechanic said it would be ANOTHER HOUR. I said I had been waiting over 2 hours. I was horrified that the mechanic YELLED at me and said, YOU HAVENT BEEN HERE 2 HOURS, YOU LEFT. I went back to the waiting room insulted and fuming just wanting to get the hell out of there. I learned that the man who yelled at me was David. I heard him answer the phone and identify himself. I dared not complain while I was there, because I was at their mercy. I was terrified the mechanic would intentionally damage or sabotage my van. Another guy told me a belt was starting to crack and asked if I was okay having it replaced. I said, yes. This employee was the only polite person I dealt with. When I was finallynotified than my van was ready, it had been 5 HOURS AND 10 MIN. after arriving. Today, I turned on my AC to find that its not working. Ive had this van for 11 years and have NEVER had a problem with the AC. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I called them to ask if replacing the alternator would affect the AC. They said no and I could bring the van back. NEVER. Now Im going to have to take my vehicle to another shop to get the AC working $$$
This was the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Original took truck in for an alignment, one lie after another, then finally ending with a $1700 bill and no alignment. Forced to pay in order to get my truck, I used discover, in process of disputing charge now. When picking up truck the old hubs lay beside building beat all to pieces, evidently they did not have the proper equipment to pull them. Final invoice has different part number than what ended up on vehicle. Unbelievable! In process of taking truck to a professional for repair of damages done by this company and consulting an attorney for litigation.
Cars been making a noise. When I brought it in, wasnt making the noise. They were patient, waited around until it made the noise, diagnosed it immediately, and fixed it in ten minutes.
I supposed to be an auto guru but sometimes even the best of knowledge as people that specialize in a certain area. So it seems that if I dont have the answer that situation they do
Very disappointed. I took my vehicle in to have an oil leak fixed and have the transmission serviced. After telling them what the oil leak was, they took the next five hours to tell me that it was something else and asked permission to go ahead with alternate repairs. After declining, they said theyd take another look at it. After checking back with them again (the clerk failed to call me back on a couple occasions--I always ended up calling him), I was again reassured that it was this alternate repair that the car needed. After them insisting it was the wrong repair a third time, I told them I was coming to pick my vehicle up. Upon arrival, I was informed that theyd finally looked close enough to discover that the problem was in fact what I had originally suggested. Seven hours after I originally dropped the vehicle off.I took my car home that night and decided with much hesitation to drop the vehicle back off the next day (surely they knew what they were doing and they were just being cautious, right?). They were able to finish the main repair on the second day and I applaud them for that. Unfortunately, they neglected to tighten miscellaneous fasteners and even managed to sandwich a zip tie into one of my brand new gaskets. Care and attention to detail does not seem to be a strong point of this shop. I personally find these oversights reasonable in light of the nature of the repair that had been undertaken. What isnt acceptable is what follows:Fastforward:The day after I had my vehicle back, I noticed alarming puddles of fluid in my driveway. After some examination, I realized that they had neglected to tighten my transmission pan securely after they had serviced it. One of the bolts was so loose that its washer was completely free to spin and move; after tightening this bolt (and three others), my leak was fixed and I went about my life until I could find time to visit the shop again. After finally finding the time to make my way back to the shop to request a partial refund on their labor, as I had to fix the work they had so hastily slopped together, I was declined any sort of reimbursement at all, and was told I should have utilized their warranty multiple times.Sorry, Sooner Auto. I dont have time to waste half an hour or more running my vehicle down to you to take care of a five minute repair which is inexcusable to begin with. After unsuccessfully requesting a talk to the manager, I was later relayed the message through the shop attendant (I guess the owner couldnt be bothered to call me himself -- so much for customer service) that I wouldnt get a refund, and that my warranty on the transmission gasket would be void if I didnt return the vehicle to them promptly to be examined because Id tightened the bolts. Its not rocket science to snug some transmission pan bolts down, guys. I guess the shop owner also likes to get back at people for asking for refunds. The manager clearly thought it best to scold a knowledgeable customer than to simply refund 15 or so dollars to make me happy. The only way Id recommend this place is if you already know about cars and are savvy enough to catch their misdiagnosis and sloppy repair jobs. I feel like the shop workers were good guys, just not the most attentive. The shop owner clearly has enough business to keep his wallet busting at the seams if he didnt care enough to treat me with some respect, or offer me any sort of recompense for the slightly botched repairs. But hey; if you see these guys and your repairs dont turn out just right, at least youve got your warranty, right? Keep your fingers crossed. By the way, the single star rating is more for the customer service and not for the repairs. The repairs were probably more along the three star range (or four star if the intake doesnt leak within a couple years -- dont hate me for lacking a little faith after all Ive been through).
These people are very honest and dont try to scam you at all.
Best place in town, always fair and always friendly
Great place to GET SCREWED OVER! Took my car in to get a $29.99 A/C recharged, turns out $29.99 will actually be $80 after labor and parts....They can refund you the $50 and suck the freyon back out if you wish...youll still owe the $29.99.
They are an honest shop. They will take care of you. Great group.
Good, honest mechanics! I trust David & Daniel with all my vehicles.
Took my Aztec in for overheating problems and squeaking noise from right tire. Told that I had a wheel bearing going out. After 2100 dollars of work still squeaking and still overheating. I could have put that 2100 down on a newer vehicle but didnt want payments. Now Im stuck with this POS.
VERY disappointed in the customer service at this shop. After having my sons car for a WEEK trying to figure out whats wrong with it the the guy on the phone has the nerve to get rude with me because I called twice in one day. He made promises that he never kept and acted like he could care less if he had our business or not. Gave him a payment over the phone for the work he did do and he didnt even say thanks, nothing. Will never return to this repair shop again. EVER. Very bad experience
Great guys! Super fast oil change service!
I had a broken starter bolt on my truck. Trying to extract the bolt myself, I messed up the bolt hole. I called them and described the problem and they said they would be able to start on it the next day. So I had it towed to their shop on a Wednesday. Each day they gave me an excuse as to why they could not get my truck in to start on it. On the following Monday, I had to go down and have a face to face discussion with the manager who told me that if I needed to take it somewhere else, I could. I told him that I wanted my truck fixed and didnt want to have to face another tow charge. The truck was fixed the next day (6 days after having it towed in). The other starter bolt broke a month later. That is when I learned that instead of drilling and retapping the bad bolt hole, they merely stuffed it with JB weld putty to hold the bad bolt in. And they charged me over $500 for that!
Extremely pleased and really appreciated Daniel and the others! Thank you all for your help!!!!!!
Friendly, competent, reasonable. Trifecta of standard mechanic requirements.
Everytime I come here they always have the friendliest most knowledegable staff who are always upfront and honest. Unlike most other shops they never try to sell you something you dont need and they have always taken care of my car 100% of the time. I would HIGHLY recommend taking your car to this shop if your tired of shady mechanics and I guarentee they will take you of you 110% and leave you happy and completely satisfied. I will continue to take my car to this shop as they always take care of my car needs.
Excellent Service and Honest!!!! Everyone was friendly and very helpful. A place I can afford to take my vehicle!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
I had work done on my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport in April and June. The total cost of repairs combined was well over $1000. Six months later Im having to do it all over again for the same repairs. Sloppy work.
Great service and very fast.
Told me what was wrong fixed it left driving happy
Honest mechanics.
