I have brought some vehicles that have some unique challenges their way and they always respond with your best interest in mind. I appreciate their frankness and their honesty. I took my little Ram Promaster City to them for what seemed to be an emissions problem. But it turned out to be a REAL challenging computer code programming puzzling mess.To make a very long story a bit shorter, they thought they had it fixed only to have the Check Engine light pop back on a few days later.They tried again.This time, the codes listed by the system went nuts and came up with all sorts of contradictory messages. So John called the Chrysler dealer and learned that there was a Service Advisory that would require a computer program change that Chrysler holds as proprietary. Only a Chrysler dealer may do it.So I took it to our local Chrysler dealer and within a short time, they had done whatever magic they needed to do. Now its going to be a matter of waiting to find out if that solved the problem.HOWEVER, John and the crew at 36th and Wall had spent large chunks of three full days chasing computer codes only to learn they couldnt actually do the final fixings due to Chryslers efforts to prevent independent mechanics from taking potential business from them.Yet after all that, when I asked today how much I owed Master, the answer was Nothing. We didnt solve it for you.You can bet that kind of honesty and customer service will have me going back to Master Muffler from now on.In America today, Simple HONESTY and Fair Play are rare commodities.

This group of guys, this shop, is hands down the best auto repair shop I have ever worked with. I used to live in Ogden and they were my go to for everything. Before I moved down south, I got new tires put on my pilot. I’ve been down here a few months and ended up with a bolt in my tire. I called up to Master and talked with John, he reminded me I had a warranty on them and he connected with a shop down here where he knows and trusts the mechanics and made the arrangements to have it taken care of the next day. My sister was up visiting once and her entire car died. They went out of their way to get her car in and looked at immediately. They reached out to another shop they thought might be a better fit to help her with the specific issue and made arrangements to get her care there. This shop is owned and run by some of the best men. They are honest, upfront, they go above and beyond to not only help but make every accommodation possible to make things easier for you, and they genuinely care about their customers safety and peace of mind. Thank you guys for always coming through no matter what! Will always be my number one auto guys. A stand up group all the way around.

Its not every day you find an auto shop that cares about their customers. Did I spend a lot of money here? Yep. Did they do a great job? Yes. I called and asked for an oil change the night before and the guy said they were pretty open for the next day so I had my pick on time. I dropped my car off at 2:30 I asked when it would be done. The guy seemed very annoyed and said it would be done by 5. I asked by 5 to clarify and he said ya we are just finishing up this car so we can get started. There oil change to 2.5 hours! Most places do it in 45 minutes. Then when I picked up the car turned out the did a full on inspection of everything on my car. It’s a 2020. All I wanted was an oil change and to be on my way. Instead I was stranded for 2.5 hours and the other errands I needed to run were closed.

Just in case my wifes name shows up as the post, this is Brad. I went into M.M. shop looking to modify a part to fit onto my after market muffler . I come out of the shop with a custom built part that works great. The exhaust tech was supportive, friendly, and knowledgeable. John at the office desk helpful and witty. He new what I needed. These guys rock!

When I visited this place for the first time I found a place of very good quality and excellent work but a couple of weeks ago the light of the check engine turned on in my truck and it turns out that I had a lick in the muffle that they supposedly repaired me. I had all the intention of the world to return so that they will fix my work because I did not pay $ 20 or $ 50 dollars, I paid more than $ 200 dollars to do a bad job. I do not understand how this place can have five stars when they are not doing their job well. I am really disappointed by this place. Fortunately, the boys from the place where I went to renew the sticker, they could repair and weld the part that was bad. I do not recommend this place 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

This place is above amazing and I will never take my car anywhere else. I needed to get somewhere out of town on an extremely quick time frame. I took it somewhere else and they said it was going to be 1200-1400 to fix it and they were two weeks out. They cared enough to get it done the same day and for less than $400. I would recommend them to everyone and they have a customer for life.

I had a courtesy vehicle inspection done here as I was concerned about my breaks. They sent my husband the work up for the vehicle, which needed the break pads replaced and that the rotors were going out. We discussed cost with them and decided to go elsewhere. I called after talking more with my husband asking if we brought the pads if they would charge us labor and was told yes. When my husband showed up with the parts, they said they don’t do that and it’s against policy. My husband discussed with them doing the service and came to the understanding the rotors had to be replaced as well. From this conversation we were under the impression that the overall cost we were given was to include front and rear axles. When they were done, I had called in and was told they only did 1 axle. After explaining to John that both myself and my husband were under the impression the cost included both, he proceeded to tell me his conversation with my husband including that my husband said he wish he would have just handled it and basically I was being ridiculous, he just needed it done. Not only am I upset that we paid for a service and only got half the job done, but that John had the nerve to try and make me feel awful as if my husband were throwing me under a bus. The professionalism and customer service here is sad. It’s great to see how men can put down women. Not to mention for the work we had done, they are extremely overpriced. I should have stuck with my gut and went somewhere else. Now I’m out a lot of money in the time of a crisis.

This place is great, I went in with my Ram unsure what was wrong and they where not only able to fine & fix the problems but also work with me the whole time, The people that work here are just amazing especially the guy named John thats at the desk every time I go there.

These are great guys to work with. I have worked with them on several occasions and things have always gone smoothly. They cover a wide array of vehicles and specialties. They have adequate parking and a nice waiting area. Anything from tires to diesel engines is covered. Ive recommended multiple individuals to them and will return in the future. They even have a shuttle driver who will pick up and drop you or your vehicle off. This makes things mighty convenient. Thanks guys!

I took my car into this place for a second opinion about the rear brakes and they told me I needed new pads and rotors. I took pics and emailed them to the dealership where i take my car for all service and they told me there was still 7mm pad left. The guy tried to tell me the dust was from the tires and I told him it was impossible because I had the tires rotated 1 hour before so there was no way the brake dust was from the tires normal wear and tear. He told me I had less than 1mm brake pad left and I asked how he could tell without pulling off the tire and either measuring or doing a visual inspection, and he said he could feel the amount remaining. Get a second opinion. They wanted to charge me $650 for to replace a perfectly good part. This place is not honest. They will lie straight to your face.

My wife and I purchased a car from a small dealer and started having problems almost right away. The final straw was when the vehicle started leaking coolant...badly. The dealer told us to go to the Master Muffler in Ogden and have them look at it. From the moment we talked to John at Master Muffler we knew we were going to be taken care of. John was courteous and understanding to our situation and provided his assistance as a mediator between the dealer. John even helped us arrange a rental car which really helped out! He was very honest and extremely fair. While the dealer only covered a small portion of the repair cost, in no way did we walk away displeased with the service at this Master Muffler. They have earned my trust and business for any future vehicle problems, and I found out they also work on diesels! Thank you John for your professionalism and thank you to the mechanics at Master Muffler for working so hard to get our car repaired. Cheers!

The staff at Mastermuffler is awesome, they have been taking care of me for years. Easy to work with and they back there diagnostics 100%; great place to get a fair price on mechanic work and they wont try and sell you on stuff that isnt necessary.

Probably do great work because they seem popular but when I asked to get a muffler replaced they said they were a week out before they could get to. Went Alvarez Muffler Service next morning and they had it for me by 11am for $100 total!

I called Master Muffler - asked them what labor and parts would cost for doing a resonator and muffler delete on a 2011 e90 328i with an N52 engine. The guy on the phone asked if it was a Mercedes and I said no, it’s a BMW. He set me up for an appointment(to give me an estimate) at 8:30 and got my name and number. I showed up a couple days later around 8:30. When I walk through the front door, the person at the front desk doesn’t acknowledge me for 2 minutes. I tell him that I’ve got an appointment at 8:30 for an estimate. He finally replies, telling me that their only expert on exhaust will be gone and I’ll have to be rescheduled three days later. Two big things- 1: I should have been able to get an estimate over the phone, but the guy I was talking to did not seem to be an expert. 2: They didn’t give me a call or email that my appointment would need to be moved back, so I showed up, wasted time and gas, got a rock chip on my windshield just to go back without an estimate that should have been handled over the phone. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

We dropped the SUV off at 8:30 am for a full diagnostic of a check engine light. They would not let my son stay there to wait due to Covid. We waited all day, finally called at 5:00 pm and they had not even looked at the vehicle. We even had an appointment that we had set up 3 days earlier!! NEVER GOING BACK! We are going to Midas tomorrow.

I would give 4.7 stars if I could, but thats closer to 5 than four, so here ya go.I needed a tailpipe re-routed to fix some shoddy previous custom work. Met first with John, then JJ to talk about the work. Both guys were knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. They were able to get me on the schedule the very next day.When I arrived the next day, they were ready, and even shuttled me back home while the work was being done. They updated me during the day--which I appreciated- then once the work was completed, they shuttled me back to the shop. Very nice touch of service!When I checked out the work, all bends were smooth and professional, all welds were clean and solid-- no leaks whatsoever. However, the routing in the last 18 inches of pipe wasnt exactly what I had hoped for. Johns question to me was, ok, how do we make it right? A quick discussion, and no hesitation, truck was back in the shop, pipe was cut, a new piece bent, and installed perfectly-- even though it was getting right up against closing time. Justin is an artist!All the guys there offered great service, and in the end I got just what I had asked for, and at a very fair price. I would go to them first in the future if I needed additional exhaust work, or any of the numerous other services they offer

These guys told me I would only pass emissions if I spent $2,000 on a new exhaust system for my F-150. Decided to take my truck to another shop and it passed emissions without a hick-up effectively saving me $2,000! Bad bad business. Broken trust before I even became a customer. I would make sure to get a second opinion before working with these guys.

I stopped by to get a simple oil change. I was greeted with a friendly smile and how can I help you. I was totally amazed by the detail in which the oil change was performed.Even down to the technician washing his hands before he got into my vehicle and moved it out of the bay. Then the service manager JJ went over and amazing step-by-step inspection form to include pictures of my vehicle that they performed while doing the oil change.Great Team work leads to amazing customer service!!Thank youRadar

I left my car at the shop, and he paid for an uber to take me home.I am so happy with the service I have recieved so far. The scary part? The bill. LolBut John said not to worry. That gave me comfort I wouldnt break the bank when I go to pick up my car.

Lousy lousy terrible service...they lie and take advantage of female customers and they dont listen to customers--regarding the Ogden location. They charge ya for what THEY want--not the customer wants and give ya ridiculous sob stories as to why to should go their way youre best bet.....go elsewhere and be treated right and save some 💰.

I took my car to them to see if they could install some aftermarket mufflers in my car. They said it would not be a problem and gave me an estimate. So I scheduled an appointment a week later to do the work. Took my car in at 0800AM for my appointment. Worth noting this fairly easy exhaust job should not take more than 3 hours tops. Lots of people have done the exact same exhaust same upgrade on the same type of car. So at 2:30pm they call to let me know they are just starting on my car and then realized they didnt feel comfortable doing the job. They had the car all day, and it took them all day to realize they didnt have the skillset to do the easy job that any competent exhaust shop could do. Master Muffler is a bad name as they cant even install mufflers. Bad service...dont go. Plus I spent $30 on Uber rides to drop off and pick up. They didnt even apologize.This had nothing to do with customer supplied parts. It was the fact they didnt know what they were doing.

Had my header removed and a straight pipe done. They were the cheapest in the Ogden area and had fast service. Took my car in the day before and gave me an estimate for the job and set up an appointment for the very next morning. Overall low prices and speedy quality work. Although employees couldve been more upbeat, you cant blame them and they were up to my standards. Will be back for future repairs.

Im am very pleased with the service of Master Muffler. My Ford Expedition was making lots of noise. I had a thought it could be the muffler. I took it into Master Muffler with the idea of getting a diagnosis and quote. I brought it in and was promptly helped. I told the gentlemen of the issue and he went right out and had me start up my vehicle. He got down on the ground and within about 5 seconds said yep thats your muffler. He gave me a price and I asked how soon they could get me in and he replied right now. I thought the quote was reasonable and really liked the prompt service. Would highly recommend.

I scheduled an appointment for emissions testing hoping it would be quicker than popping in somewhere. Boy was I wrong! I waited over an hour. Which is crazy for something that usually takes other places maybe 20 minutes. They also did an inspection of everything else on my vehicle without letting me know. Ok cool, whatever. I guess it’s a complimentary service they offer. Though I would’ve opted out to shave off some of the lengthy wait time, because I already knew the basics of what was up with my car from a previous mechanic I’d recently seen. My advice to other customers, don’t take their inspection findings at face value. I’m concerned with how lacking their inspection was because I know for a fact that I need new brakes and shocks, but those were oddly marked as good on the report. They are definitely far from good. I gave 2 stars because the girl at the service counter was nice, and the waiting room was air conditioned and well maintained. Definitely not as kid friendly as some other places though. Disclaimer: I did not have work of any type done to my car, so I cannot say whether they excel in this area or not. I do know that they are pricey compared to other places. They gave me a ridiculously high quote for new tires.

I bought a lemon of a pick up truck about 4 years ago and have been dumping endless amounts of money into it ever since. I took it to shop after shop but no one would find the root of the problem. I ended up parking my truck for about a year (tired of throwing money at it with no results) before taking it in to Master Muffler on the recommendation of Caprice at Advanced Auto (shes awesome). I wasnt expecting much since Ive had such terrible luck with other mechanics in the area but Justin and the guys ran a full diagnostic test, called me just a few hours later and told me exactly what the problem was. Their prices were reasonable and their time frame for completing the job was ridiculously fast (other shops took days just to replace spark plugs). My favorite part about this shop, next to the free brownies (unexpected but oddly nice touch), is their communication. They called me and let me know what was going on every step of the way. Every other shop Ive been to, Ive had to constantly pester the mechanics to find out the status of my repair. These guys are awesome & they have my business! My truck runs like a champ and Im happy to be tearing up the town again.

They dont just give you a guess on what the price will be, instead they will look at it and tell you the cost. They wont change the price they gave you, they will not over charge you. They have an expert in their shop that has been there for over 30 years so he knows what hes doing! Definitely would recommend going here for any exhaust work!

My truck blew a head gasket on a Saturday around closing time in Ogden. These mechanics looked at my truck after hours, helped me find transportation and lodging to get home to Bozeman MT, and worked closely with me remotely over the next few weeks to find the best option for replacing the cracked head, flushing fluids, etc. The service was great, personal (even texting with me after hours on weekends) and my truck is running great several months after this major repair. They even mailed me brownies to Bozeman....

They are easy to work with and do a great job!

I have only been into Master Muffler once with my car, but they were so kind and helpful. They even provided me with a heads up on things that needed to be done to my car to keep in perfectly operational, but were not pressuring at all. I highly recommend them for your car repairs.

I had to get my car towed here. I payed for the tow and then they double charged me for the tow. They fixed many my car, one fix was spark plugs, I needed to go back in to get my spark plugs fixed 4 months later. They over charged me on most of the fixes. Midas has had to fix most of the problems they couldn’t fix. Overall not a good experience. Will not be coming back here EVER.

Ive been going to Master Muffler for the past 30 years and have recommended them to many of my friends and family. They must be doing something right because we all continue to take our vehicles there when we have a problem. I have always been treated great and have never felt like Im being taken advantage of. I had kind of an odd issue on an old Saturn, and he squeezed me into his Saturday morning just to help me figure out what was wrong. Wonderful service. We were buying a car today and needed a mechanic to look over things. The dealer didn’t have any openings today and wanted $115. Master Muffler got us right in and charged us nothing for their twenty Kona courtesy check, complete with a checklist and pictures and talking. They talked over everything with us and everyone was very friendly and competent. Added bonus- the facility was clean and comfortable!

With all the mechanics to choose from, I want to help anyone reading this out by recommending Master Muffler on Wall Ave. Not only is it right next to the Mall and Moores (so you have something to do if you need to wait), but the staff is what makes this place shine. I have been going to here for a few years now, and never have regretted the decision to switch from my hometown mechanic. The prices are fair and the work that is performed is top notch. I have had everything done there from my annual inspections to a replaced manifold. Trust them and their work.

My family has used Master Muffler for many years because we feel like theyre the most trustworthy auto place in town. Weve never been disappointed by them. On the contrary, weve been impressed by their genuine care for individual customers. Highly recommend using their good priced, high quality service.

Pretty unhappy with my first and probably last experience there. Long story short I wanted to get some Flowmasters on my car. I should have known to buy the mufflers online and just have them weld them on. The company i work for has a lot of work done there so i figured i could trust them. I dropped my keys off and told them to do it. They charged $185 per muffler which usually cost around $90 just about anywhere. Total was $546 dollars. $406 in parts and $140 for labor. I thought the labor was fairly priced just don’t buy your parts through them.

Long story short I bought a vehicle from a dealership(05 Jeep Liberty) and within a month the engine was blown. I was quoted $8,000 for the repair by multiple auto shops. Master Muffler quoted me half that. So being skeptical of the price I still decided to have them repair it as a good warranty was included with the repair. I was happy with the repair but after the warranty was up it blew again from a faulty motor. Rather than charge me they did the entire repair again for free! Even after the warranty was void. My family has always recommended this place and after taking in multiple vehicles I will never go anywhere else. This is an excellent business with excellent people

Master muffler is honest and easy to work with. I have taken many of my vehicles here, even the ford. They did great work even when my spark plug was stuck. I would recommend anyone who wants a great experience and honest opinion go here. Thanks for all the help.

Not sure how competent these guys are. I was given a price over the phone and reaffirmed it twice. I was told to bring my car in today at 8am. I arrived at 7:50am just to make sure I was on time upon which the employee doubled the price and said my car would not be finished until 1pm. The employee was very rude when I told him the name and who I had spoke to on the phone and he was not service friendly at all as he picked his nose and totally avoided the situation. I pulled my car 100 ft. up the road to Jiffy Lube who were happy to help me and got my car done in 25 min. with a great price. I hardly write negative reviews so it was a big deal to me today and almost took out my busy schedule. I do not recommend this location at all. If they cant be competent over the phone or have good costumer service, how competent can they be with the service of your car?

For the past ten years I have gone to Master Muffler & Brake for all of my car needs. They have worked on three different cars, and I have been totally satisfied with each. They complete the work in an efficient, timely manner, the price is always satisfactory, and the customer service is the best. They also have lifetime warranties on their work which is the ultimate bonus. I would highly recommend their service to everyone.

This is my go-to garage. Every time I need quality work done, I go to these guys. Their prices are reasonable, although they are reluctant to give quotes beforehand, which can be a bit irritating. But it is good work, and never expensive, so I can over look that.Do bear in mind that because of good reviews and plenty of regulars, they can be busy, so not all repairs can be done on my timeline. But again, I would rather wait a day, and know the work is guaranteed.

My truck broke and Im between destinations (usually the way it works). My dad had a good experience dealing with these people at this particular location (Ogden) and he suggested it to me.I took my truck to them with some special instruction (I was in a hurry and didnt want to pay for anything extra or wait for anything extra). These guys were the best customer service Ive had for a long time! I wish I could expect that for everything. Im unclear remembering the names of sales but the invoice says Laub, JJ... and the tech was Scott, he did an amazing job and Im happy with every aspect of my dealing with this location.Thanks for not making me hate that I had to bring my truck in LOL
