I dealt with Mitchel over a couple days since it was an hour drive each way. love the family atmosphere and the attentativness everyone showed coming in 5 minutes before closing, He was willing to stay late to help. Solid trade offer and numbers on my new purchase defiantly would recommend them.

Worked with Samantha in service. She was professional and friendly. Had been using another Toyota dealership for service but had too many bad experiences so decided to give these folks a try. Not disappointed. Time and price quotes were spot on. Didnt mind the decor, kind of retro. Reminded me of going places with my dad when I was a kid. Coffee was good, bathrooms were clean. They even rinsed off my vehicle when it was done. Parking situation was good. All around good experience and Ill return for future service needs.

We were missing a lug nut. Probably an $8 to $10 part. I forgot to mentioned it. When I got home I noticed a new one. They never mentioned it either. Great place to go. My kids were watching them race little remote controlled cars while they were eating lunch. Did I say a great place.

First let me say, in all the years i have went to dealerships to purchase a vehicle, Empire Toyota, hands down is the place to go . I worked with my salesman, Mitchel, from the moment i walked in Empire Toyota, This is the first time i felt at ease dealing with salespeople. Mitchel, hands down, was a true gentleman. I never was pressured into anything. From the start to the finish, this was the first time in my life with dealing with dealerships and sales people that i felt 100 percent satisfied on the great deal I received. Recently purchased a 2020 Toyota Corolla. I rated the salesman and the dealership a 10. We went back and forth on a number of issues and by the time we were done, we were very pleased with the outcome. Professional salesperson (Austin) and the Corrolla is an amazing machine. I spotted a vehicle on Toyota’s website in which I was interested that was located at Empire. Because I live in NJ, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get any solid information on the vehicle over the phone. Much to my surprise I began to work with Tyler, who was very accommodating and worked with me as if I were in his dealership. He was courteous and did the usual legwork of involving the finance manager in getting me a great deal. Tyler was even making arrangements to deliver the vehicle to me in NJ!Unfortunately a “No Sale” recall was issued for my chosen vehicle at the eleventh hour of our transaction. Because a remedy appeared to be pretty far off, and because I was in need of a vehicle, I had to continue my search. Having found another vehicle, on which Empire was unable to match the price, I ended up going elsewhere. It was certainly not because Tyler’s customer service was lacking. Kudos to Tyler. I’ll keep him in mind for future purchases, even though his dealership is 300 miles away.

Called and set up an appointment to see two vehicles. Both were ready for test drives. After the test drives we wanted each vehicle checked for a vibration in each. The sales agent asked to give him 24 hours to have them checked out and he would call with the results. Now I could have taken a star off because the vehicles werent ready for the lot, but the salesperson, Mitchell made the right call

Drove six hours to look at a truck. Gave the sales manager a deposit to hold the truck until Monday. Got my approval to buy the truck and called the dealership to arrange purchasing details. Was informed that they sold the truck on Saturday. Isnt the point of a deposit to hold the vehicle? I was told the sales manager didnt want to lose a sale. Well instead he lost a customer. Dont bother putting a deposit down as they dont honor it anyways.

This dealership has facilities from the 90’s, with a poor customer flow and rude, incompetent service. My mother purchased a RAV4 there 2 years ago and it has been horrible customer service since then. She made an appointment for a simple, safety inspection. We arrived on time and they told my mother they would get it in right away. A half hour later the service manager comes looking for the key by shaking the papers at my mother - if you are a service department then act like it and at least be polite!! They didn’t even show my mother features of the car before she drove it off the lot, when she first bought it. She is changing to another mechanic. This dealership needs to get their act together. I have been a Toyota owner for decades and never had this poor of a service experience at my local dealerships..

The manager was unprofessional, instead of trying to respond to an issue he wanted to sell a car. The issue was after a $777.00 repair the car would not start. I was trying to get to the bottom of the issue after getting 4 hours sleep. Come to find out the ignition key was not programmed. All gets resolved after 150 miles of driving back and forth. I will not do business with empire Toyota

I have only received excellent service at Empire Toyota - be it sales, service, or placing my 2005 Tacoma on a brand new frame. The professionalism of this entire operation is second to none. It also helps that they sell Toyota vehicles, which is sort of an unfair advantage -. I bought a CPO 2005 Tacoma in 2007 with 47,000 miles and still own it today with almost 200k on the odometer. It runs and drives like it still has the original mileage on it. Truly an amazing vehicle! Just leased a new Highlander, and I am 100% confident in the fact that this one will go at least as far.

Never have I had such a smooth buying experience and I left the dealership feeling like I was the one getting away with something. The service has been outstanding and they have never tried to sell me something I didnt need. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a fair deal and great service! Hannah is absolutely amazing. I told her exactly was I was looking for and she found the car I was looking for. I also told her I was on a time restriction and she made sure I got the car the very next day as early as possible. The whole team is fantastic, but she was my fantastic saleswoman! I will be coming back when I am ready to purchase another vehicle!Edit: 5 days after I purchased the 2014 Corolla, I was having issues with my glove box and touchscreen. I set up an appointment and brought the car in. They are replacing the screen and the glove box. The service guy told me that there is a 50 dollar deductible, BUT the owner said that he would take care of that 50 dollars since I just bought the car! I bring it back on the 28th! I couldnt be more happy with my decision to go to empire Toyota. Thank you so much Mr. Owner!!! I really appreciate it!!!!

Wonderful buying experience. Was having trouble with our 3 year old Honda. Just came to look not buy. When we were looking around outside a nice young man Jordan O’Neill asked if he could help us. We left an hour later buying a new Rav 4. 0% financing! This salesman was friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy! The whole buying experience at Empire Toyota was wonderful from start to finish.Today i was having some trouble with my apple car play. Jordan came out and took the time and fixed the problem! I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy a Toyota from Empire in Oneonta! Eddie from service came out and reset a couple of things that needed to be done and he is amazing asWell!

1 star is generous. Purchased a new 2017 Highlander had several issues with brakes which the service department said was normal. Replaced pads and rotors with less than 30,000 not under warranty per their service department. Leaking transmission at 56,000 miles again not covered under warranty but they will gladly charge you $50 to tell you it isnt covered. Will never buy another Toyota and certainly would not recommend Empire Toyota.

I was not having great success at another dearlership. As I was in the market for a 2020 Tacoma. I found the truck I was looking for on the Empire Toyota website. I spoke with Tom. Tom wasted no time in helping me, he was very professional,curtious, kind, and greatly assisting me in every way. Tom was very knowledgable of the vehicle I was inquiring about. He listened, and answered all my concerns and other questions I had. Tom was a pleasure to work with. From step one, to the moment I took delivery of my new Tacoma. Tom made sure everything went smooth and, quickly corrected any errors. If anyone questions me where to purchase a New or Used Toyota, I will not hesitate, and tell them Empire Toyota in Oneonta. I stopped in to this Toyota dealership driving a rental car that I was graciously afforded by the inattentive driver that put my poor 2005 trooper of a Toyota off the road for a bit. I was interested in what Toyota had to offer that had some of the same features that the rental car did. I had my auto loan approval in hand, and went to the main door, where I was greeted rather hastily by a rather unprofessional man. I honestly didnt even pass the threshold fully or ask more than one question before he assured me they did not have what I was looking for. I was honestly blown away. I have purchased a fair amount of vehicles in my 15 years driving, and have used a dealership many times before. Each state has their quirks when it comes to how dealerships operate, but this was simply lackadaisical and perfunctory salesmanship. As I turned to leave, rather disgruntled at the sheer lack of service, I saw the reason why he was so disinterested in a ready to buy potential customer. Apparently his friends arrived shortly before I approached the building looking for assistance. I listened to the guffawing and sound of friendly, but personal conversation, and honestly wont be back, nor recommending this establishment. Very dissapointed in the lack of service on the weekend that I stopped in. Do not recommend.

I recently decided to change from a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 for an SUV. I went to the local dealers in the area took test drives and received quotes from them. I advised the sales person at Empire of my requirements in a vehicle she (Xenia) showed me several vehicles that matched what I wanted. I received a quote, and left to discuss the quotes I received from the dealers with my wife. No pressure, no one tried to stop me from leaving. Because of the service, the professionalism and Toyota reputation I chose Empire Toyota which actually was not the cheapest quote, but did fill mine and my wifes requirements for options and quality. We purchased a 2016 Highlander and couldnt be more pleased with the service and attention I received from Gregg the sales manager my sales person Xenia, and all the other people I had contact with at the dealership. Very enjoyable an easy purchase. Highly recommend this dealer.

Every time I went for routine service there brought our a filter covered with leaves (even the end of winter). Wanted me to replace it EVERY time. It looked the same at each appt. Why not simply rinse it off. Always found something that cost me more money. Driving a Honda now.

Extreme lowballed on a trade in that at minimum was worth 13000$ according to kbb. They offered me 8000$ lmao! Then they wouldnt budge on a 4runner that was in an accident, trying to charge top dollar for it. Good luck selling a 4runner thats 6 years old with an accident on it for 26000$. Part of selling cars is negotiating. If you run into Jordan he is nice at first then gets defensive when it comes to price. 😂👌Went down the road and got a newer suv where I got a fair price on my trade in. You lost a 30000$ sale.

I buy my cars from this dealer but I don’t live close to it (my family lives near this dealer). I started getting my car serviced at a dealer by me because the maintenance department here is AWFUL. There have been multiple times where they were rude to my family. I brought my car in a little late for my service and the man at the desk snapped at me saying “try to get it in earlier”. I haven’t been back since. He told my father they couldn’t wash his car after service because it was “broken” and my father walked outside to see them washing other cars. THEN they pressured my 84 year old grandfather to buy $800 worth of tires that he doesn’t need for a leased car that he’s turning in, in less than a year. Luckily, we stopped him or he would’ve spent $800 on tires that only the dealer would’ve benefitted from as they would’ve gotten the new tires back next year when he turned the car in. They’re shady and rude. The salesmen are nice but I will NEVER service my car here again.

I bought a 2011 Tundra, certified used car, from this dealer. The price was OK, the truck is great, and the service department is responsive as well. The salesperson, however, was having some personal drama and was immensely inattentive. I dont need a lot of attention, but maybe a little when Im spending over $25K. I basically sold the truck to myself--salesperson was not even familiar with vehicle operation.

Service DepartmentIve bought 3 new cars at this dealership in the past 6 years, a Prius, Highlander Hybrid and a Venza. Ive also had all of these cars serviced there, bought snow tires, batteries, wipers and all related items from them countless times. Ive had at least 60 service appointments between the 3 cars. John and the service department have been very, very easy to work with and John has helped me many times with the darn hood latch that keeps making my car alarm go off at the most inopportune times. Its been replaced under warranty twice and looks like a 3rd needed.So I decided to buy a car and last last night proved to be the best time for our schedules; it was a pre-approved, with no trade sale, so I thought. I wrongly assumed that Empire wanted to continue to sell me cars because of being a loyal customer. Up front I will tell you I wanted some sign, even a $1 might have done it, that I was not going to pay MSRP when 2 of the previous 3 times I bought the Demo which was the owners.I was convinced, after about an hour, that they were OK with me not buying a car from them this time, or ever again, unless it was exactly under their terms. The salesman was very nice but it was very evident that his hands were tied and he was told there was absolutely no wiggle room.I have an appointment at another Toyota and Honda dealership later today, its 10 miles further for the drive but three people have told me that the buying experience was very good and one was driving there new car for the first time this morning when I had coffee with him. Heck, always wanted to try some of the Utica restaurants anyway.I applaud Empire Toyota for sticking to their guns and not offering me any additional consideration as one of their long time customers. We will probably go back there, to John, for service but my buying days, and I will buy 2 or maybe 3 cars this next 12 months, will probably not be conducted at the this location.Happy Holidays, it should not be this hard to buy a car.

Every time I have gone there, they have tried to sell me something I didnt need. When you dont buy it, they treat you like crap. This one time I went in for an oil change, and they said that my brakes were going to fail very soon and that my car wasnt safe enough to drive. This was a 2010 Camry. I told them I would take it to my father-in-law to check it out, as he has been a mechanic for the last 25 years. There was NOTHING wrong with it. They just assume that any female can be taken advantage off. Google their name, and you will see nothing but NEGATIVE reviews about them. The only reason they are still open is as the closest Toyota dealers are in Binghamton and Utica. Their cars are overpriced too. And having known people who work there, you wouldnt want to buy a car from them! They give Toyotas a bad name! It is sad that they are still open!

Stopped by a couple of times looking to buy a used car and lease a new vehicle. You’d think wanting to work with Empire on two cars would make me a desirable customer… I was told by the first salesman I was paired with that if I came back on the weekend, he could show me the entire lot.I followed up on the weekend, and was passed to their newest salesman, only on his 4th day. He was very kind and preferable to the typical pushy salesperson, but not ready to try to help someone looking at purchasing two cars at once, nor given guidance to the details of my situation beforehand. Ultimately, it was upper management’s lack of care and poor attitude that left me drained and uninterested in returning.First of all, the sales team did everything they could to talk me out of the type of car I wanted. I must’ve said ten times that I wanted to see any used Rav 4 they had on their lot, as the ones I kept seeing on their website would sell out. Instead of trying to get me into the model I knew I wanted to buy, I was brushed off or encouraged to look into keeping my old vehicle and only leasing one vehicle from them. They only showed me one exterior photo of the car they wanted me to lease and didn’t currently have in stock. I ended up test driving one small used car they were set on selling me and never did get to drive a Rav 4.Then I had to ask twice to get my vehicle appraised for a potential trade-in. The manager in charge spent less than a minute inspecting my SUV and by result undervalued it considerably. My proof for his carelessness came when my original salesman stepped in and tried to tell me my vehicle was FWD, an error that would weigh on any vehicle’s value. Instead of admitting their mistake, I was stuck trying to convince him that my SUV was 4WD, which it very clearly states on the tailgate and would come up in a simple VIN search. The salesman continued to gaslight me and insist that they had searched my VIN number already, instead of double-checking or doing anything to correct this issue. Aggravating and a lazy ploy to keep their lowball figure that they would not budge on. If this is how they do their “research” on trades, I’m sure they missed the excellent condition of my SUV, low mileage, and added safety and entertainment packages as well. I have little faith they’ll give anyone a fair trade-in value here.After being convinced to run the numbers on the small car I was lukewarm on “just in case,” the final nail in the coffin was hearing the manager screaming from his office that it was ridiculous to use my car’s trade-in value as a down payment (which has a higher market value than the used car they were trying to sell me). I don’t need their financing and am approved for a loan elsewhere, but they insisted so I obliged, wanting to know what their monthly price would be with and without an additional down payment. The original sales person then asked if we were trying to lease the used vehicle (which was 3 years old and obviously impossible to lease) as if I was the confused one, which really showed me they weren’t listening. I told every one of the salespeople I spoke to that I was looking to purchase a used car and lease a new one. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the manager’s unprofessional behavior and their team’s listening skills. I’m not one to write reviews or dwell on the negatives, but I’d hate for someone else to experience what I did. I’ve never felt so disrespected by a dealership and won’t be going back.
