Bill was extremely patient and kind to each customer and went the extra mile to accommodate questions. Why oh why is Bill so rude? I know his face and voice from another location. I called about getting specific work done. He literally talked me out of it by telling me I could do it myself this morning . At the Dunn location a tiny bit ago I got a discount because he was so rude the lady Rebecca gave me a discount because he told meTo go to another store to get my car fixed because my issue wasn’t their problem! She said he shouldn’t of said that to me. He later said he was confused about the issue but still… why no matter where I cross you no matter what location. Rather in person or the phone … you are rude.I just went else where and had the work doneBill should not be a manager he does not know how to talk to clients rather you are being nice doesn’t matter he is really rude. To see other ppl say this and the company still has him there says A LOT!

Since moving to Jacksonville Ive taken my cars to get fixed at the local Tires Plus but never felt satisfied with my service there. Finally decided to try a different shop and I am 100% satisfied. The issues I was having were recurring issues Id been dealing with Tires Plus on about two months ago. They told me they couldnt find anything wrong with my car and simply reset the sensor. Pep Boys found the issue and resolved it. if Tires Plus had done their due diligence the first time around I wouldnt have needed to spend a good amount of money on it but listen, Im glad I did because I met a good crew working at Pep Boys and now I know where to take any car I have issues with.

I made an appointment for oil change at 4pm. I dropped the car off early at 3pm. They said they would call when its done etc. They never called. I came back on my own at 6pm because I knew that they closed at that time. I waited until 6:30 after close because my car was not outside. The doors were locked but the only employee still in the store let me in. He proceeded to talk about cars with a woman for the next 15 minutes. Long story short I waited for 45 minutes after closing to get the car.This would be a 1 star review but the guy immediately comped the oil change so it was free.UPDATE:I came in again for my wifes car thinking surely the above review was a one off scenario. I made the appointment for 9:30 Sunday morning. Woke up early and everything come to find out that the place does not open until 10am. How do you make a 9:30 appointment but do not open until 10? Called and obviously no answer because the store isnt open yetChanging my review back to its original 1 star.

I went in to purchase a new headlight bulb for my kia soul and Steve was nice enough to even install it for me right after I purchased it. I dont know too much about cars so I definitely didnt know how to change them out 😅. It was on the drivers side as well so the fuse box was in the way but he managed to get it all done. Will definitely be a returning customer. Thanks again Steve!!!

Brought my vehicle in for an oil change but they were 2 hours behind. I couldn’t wait that long so I rescheduled. Brought it in for my new appointment only to find they were 45 minutes behind before they could even look at my car. I have always used Pep Boys for my oil changes and being behind is their thing. One issue is apparently their online appt system which books several appointments at one time slot.Took my vehicle to Jiffy Lube and was in and out in 15 minutes.

I took my car in to be diagnosed for an electrical problem and was rudely greeted. I left my car and spent over $20 on a cab home. I got no courtesy call, no reply to my e-mail, and the Service Dept would not answer their phone until 26 hours after I left my car. My car had not been moved from the front of the store, had not been looked at, and the manager on duty said there was no paper work order. He finally found my work order in the computer and apologized that his supervisor had not informed him that my car was there for service and he himself had been off for three days prior. He put the key in my car for me and I got a ride from a friend to pick it up. Worst service ever!!!

Went to pep boys to have a part replaced; wish I would’ve never went there! James was the worst associate there, he was unprofessional and lied about service being offered. Bill took care of me, but the car still isn’t fixed properly and still has issues when it starts. Save your money and time and go to some real professionals/mechanics. At this point, I will have to take it to another place just so the job that they completed can be checked. If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve just went to the dealership.

Never again. We were scheduled for a 9:00 appointment for a simple oil change. Arrived and learned that they dont even open until 10:00 on Sundays ..... Why they felt inclined to schedule before they open?? Waited for an hour in the rain, (not alone l, a line of people also evidently scheduled early). Finally when they opened the door we were told, sorry we have a long wait no people unless you have an appointment. We have an appointment for 9:00, ok youll have to drop it off because itll be 6 hoursWhat?!?! In what universe do you have appointments scheduled and you take the people schedule for BEFORE OPENING and estimate 6 hours? I understand if they are short staffed or whatever excuse they may get backed up and not able to take walk ins. But the 9:00 appointment is 6 hours? Did they start scheduling people at midnight? We couldnt drop off because we intended to wait the average 20-30 minutes it takes to change an oil.Left and will never go back.

Im not returning to this location. I had my oil changed on April 1, 2021 and on April 16th my car alerted that the oil needed to be changed. I thought it was a glitch, but I had it checked today (April 19th) at another location anyway. The car is correct, Im in need of an oil change. $70 wasted.

BEWARE: The website advertises an AC Evac and Recharge service starting at $99. I called to find out the price for my vehicle and gave the make and model. Instead of offering the standard price, assuming it didnt need anything else, he asked why I felt like it needed it. So I told him it wasnt blowing cold and its already been diagnosed elsewhere but the price seemed high for an evac and recharge, but they said that was all it needed.. He asked how much they quoted. I said How about you just tell me what YOU charge. And he said No. I want to hear their price first. ..i told him nevermind, and Ill go somewhere else.....Its people like this that create distrust in the auto repair industry! Definitely not how you earn new business. When looking for automotive repair in the future, thats a Two minute phonecall that i will NEVER forget. Shady practices!

I towed my car to this shop and I called. After they got my car. I Paid Uber to get there and wait for three hours. They could not fix the car the man told me that I have to tow the truck somewhere else. Because no tech avail after 3 hours. Manager there by the name of Bill need business relation training. I have been there many times and that is over now.

I have been to this location numerous times over the years with excellent customer service and this day was another pleasant one. I was in search of the store that my Grandmothers Car Battery came from. (I had not thought to search the GOOGLE for brand of battery!) Anyways, I went in to pep boys first since it was the closest Automotive store to our grandmothers house and approached the counter. The employee behind the counter asked if she could help me. When I explained my situation she gladly took a look at the battery and politely informed me, it was not their battery but confirmed the date of manufacture was with in the last year.I asked if she knew who sells this brand and she told me she did not off the top of her head but asked me to hold on a minute and she would find out. She went to the computer and told me she would Google It! After a quick search she informed me that it was an Advanced Auto battery and wished me luck! She even offered me a cart to carry the battery back to my vehicle with.I was impressed that she made ABSOLUTELY no attempt to sell me a Pep Boys Battery, instead she was truly concerned with the customers need and her customer service!I wish I had taken a moment to write her name down so I could give her props. This is another location that I strongly recommend stopping in for your Automotive needs. You can be assured they will take care of you and not try to just sell you something!

I have been getting work done at the same store for over 8yrs. Now. I work out of town alot and always brought my truck in for service before each road trip to be sure everything was in tip top shape before hitting the road. The service manager took great care of me and I always brought in my other cars for service. But the last 2yrs service has slipped. Brought truck in for pullies to be replaced. And a few weeks later pullie seized up and snapped serpentine belt in rush hour traffic resulting in no breaks. I used to get report on what is good and what needed to be replaced now and what will need to be replaced later, or can wait. So I would be informed and aware to keep an eye on for problems. Now they dont. And I dont feel as they realy go through and check everything like they used too. I used to be able to set an appointment and Would get serviced right away. now just a vague show up time and well get to it when we can. I had the speed controller moduial fot the environmental control fan moter replaced in may befor going out of town to work it only lasted a few weeks before it went out and because there was not a pep boys close I had to wait till now. To get them to fix. I hope I will have better luck this time. So 1pm appointment over 3hrs. And $400 later they removed 2 screw unplug the resitor and twist 1/4 turn to remove fan motor and replace the whole operation should have taken 30min.tops. they never gave an estimate on price or time. As clearly shown on the information sign onwhat to expect on the window in waiting area. So the $400.00 total was a shock especially sence I suplied one of the parts. And to add insult to injury they never checked to see if the a.c. was working properly after installing the fan blower motor. That now I am taking to another shop to put on the fan belt that runs the a.c. compressor pump. The whole point of haveing the work done in the firstplace is (as I told them ) Its getting hot outside and need my a.c. working. No more!!!! Done! You have lost a loyal customer.

Horrible experience the service department is extremely understaffed. I went out on a Saturday for a blown out headlight and they couldnt get me and they were so busy. So I made an appointment for Sunday first thing in the morning. I walk in and Im told that they only have one technician and they are five cars behind because theyre all so understaffed. My time has been wasted. Im still driving around with one headlight, which is dangerous. And they could care less. This is not fair to the customers nor the poor employees trying to run around and help everybody the scheduling in the service department seriously needs to be re-evaluated. This is horrible customer service.

Where do I even start with my visit? I can be sure to say that even though I’m moving an hour and a half away from this location, I might just have to take the drive to this pep boys for ANYTHING my household vehicles need! To start, Tommy checked my in. I asked how much the brake inspection was and he happily told me it was free and he would go check and make sure someone was there to perform it for me. He came back with a smile and told me yes. They immediately took m truck back to be looked at. Little did they know, I just sat across the street at tires plus for THREE HOURS JUST FOR A BRAKE INSPECTION. I figured the wait would be just as long. NO. Gerry came in to tell me what was going on with my truck within FIVE MINUTES! I was baffled. Unfortunately, he did provide me the bad news and confirmed that tires plus wasn’t lying when they told me my truck needed $760 worth of work. I was almost brought to tears. That’s over double what I was expecting. Gerry noticed my upset and told me to hold for just a moment. He came back to me with a price that I was comfortable with. He took my life events into consideration, which I did not expect in the slightest, and helped me out knowing how badly I needed my vehicle. Jimbo and Taylor immediately started working on my truck as I was filled with tears of joy! I took my seat in their incredibly comfortable waiting room with my 4 month old. A little bit later, some other staff members came in to see my son because they had heard that “there’s an adorable 4 month old baby in there.” I have to say, I love when my son gets attention! Gerry and Tommy both made sure to keep me up to date on where my vehicle was at and about how much longer it should take. I was never clueless which i really appreciate especially because I had my baby with me. Once my vehicle was finished, they pulled it around front for me and I checked out. I cannot say thank you enough to every one in this building for their hospitality towards me and my baby! I will recommend this pep boys to everyone I possibly can! Thank you again!!!!

Absolutely the WORST experience ever. Had a coolant leak on Saturday and they were the only place opened at the time I discovered it. Took it over there and the guy said that the service technician would not be able to look at it that day and to bring it in on Monday and someone could look at it then as they would have someone all day. The guy I talked to went out to look at it with me and he said it would be fine to drive to my work (which he KNEW was 30 minutes to and from) and that I could use straight WATER as a cheaper alternative to coolant (which a google search proves that wrong) that I just needed to monitor the level. Decided not to take his advice and and get a ride from a friends boyfriend who worked with me. I drove to their house the next two days keeping it stocked with Antifreeze each drive.When I came back on Monday after work, I was told the technician left for the day at 6 (even though I was booked for an appointment). The guy who was there did look at my car and said it was a cracked coolant housing and that it was not safe to drive it and could cause further damage. When I told him that the other guy said I would be safe to drive it, he laughed and said well you should have known better. If I had of known what the problem was I would not have brought it in the first place!Definitely will NOT be returning to this place (or any others for that fact). I am not letting a store who hires people who do not know what they are talking about handle my car. I will take it to a REAL mechanic. Sad that I had to spend $18 on coolant to get back home from the last trip. That is the last time PepBoys will EVER get money from me. Hire people who actually know about cars and not give advice to screw the customers vehicle up any more..

I recently had to make a few trips to this location and will continue to get all the work done on my car here. The staff was very friendly especially Jerry who handled all of my issues. The mechanics were also very nice and informative. If they had any issues theyd come to me in the store just to make sure they made the right decision. So my Edge air conditioner was blowing cold on the drivers side and hot on the passengers side-took it over to Pep Boys on Blanding Blvd Orange Park for an AC check up-Taylor at the service counter was very professional, gathered all the info set me up with a great cup of coffee and turned my car over to James, who after a very through check up informed me what was wrong in his best professional opinion and even though he didnt have the right equipment to diagnose and repair it, with the info he gave me I took it in to the shop first thing this morning and 90 mins and $100 and it was done! My service guy said that by me telling him what James thought saved him time checking because he went right to what James said and bingo! it was right on the money! So Taylor,James, and Pep Boys get a big shout out because even though they couldnt help, they provided me with excellent customer service and advice so that I could get the repair done. Well done guys! Thanks.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had them replace my CV axle on my truck maybe 6 months ago. I took it back today because it was making the same popping noise when turning, just like before. They had it for almost an hour and it was on the lift for all of 10 minutes for them to tell me that it was perfectly fine and they couldn’t hear anything. Then they tried to tell me it was a popping in the stealing column.... Uh definitely not. Will be taking it somewhere else that apparently knows what they are doing and talking about. Waste of time. Find a real mechanic!

Well I went in there to get a new (idler pulley for my 96 Dodge Ram) it was shot..i bought a replacement and soon as I backed up it went out..the employees helped me push it into a parking space and no offer of any kind. Popped the hood and opened my toolbox and 15 minutes later was waiving thanks for no offer to assist driving away, but just happy they had the part. First visit to any Pep Boys in years and would visit again regardless.

Probably the worst experience Ive ever had getting my car serviced. Had an oil change appointment at 1 pm. Dropped the car off at 1 for a few hours expecting it to be ready around 3, got there at 3 and the car was still in the same place I left it.! I walked in and was told I was next in line at 3 pm, they didnt take the car into a bay until after 5. Also I even requested that my tires by rotated and my pressure be checked.. not done. Very bad service and bad experience overall... needless to say I will never be returning for service here again

Terrible! Over 4 hours to change tires! I made an appointment instead of dropping the vehicle off for the day and was told it would be about an hour. No idea how changing tires can take over 4 hours. Unreal.UPDATE: Costumer service was excellent. After voicing my concern the manager waived fees and made things right with me.

Pep Boys in Orange Park has great prices, wonderful service, and go the extra mile to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape to keep you safe and sound on the road.The best mechanic I ever had, Scott, moved to another state. Ive had many mechanics over the years and he was the best - professional, competent, friendly, and a darn hard worker and great leader! There are some pretty good mechanics still at Pep Boys and they all are very competent. Joe is a darn good mechanic and who I ask for now since Scott transfered to Pep Boys up north.The managers are very friendly, professional, trustworthy, competent, and do everything possible to be sure all customers are completely satisfied. Barbara and Stephanie even send followup emails letting you know as a customer youre appreciated! That is great service! There are also surveys as Pep Boys wants to know what they did good and if there is anything they could do better. Its all about improving the experience to you the customer.The folks are Pep Boys, Aaron, Matt, Kevin, and many others are super friendly, trustworthy, competent, professional, and go the extra mile for you. It is a great feeling knowing you can drive your vehicle into Pep Boys and get the Red Carpet Treatment.The bottom line is that you can trust Pep Boys to provide you the service and product you need. You wont be offered or sold anything that isnt required and I like that a lot. You are given a sheet that recommends things that should be done in the future. As always fluid levels are topped off, lights, and turn signals are checked and a lot more!Great store atmosphere, quality product and service, plenty of stock selection, and terrific prices with discounts and coupons and as a Pep Boy Reward customer you get more added value on already great prices! Right in the front of the store is a Pep Boy newsletter that list everything on Sale. Also the Pep Boy website is user friendly and you can even setup an appointment on line - quick and easy! I take three vehicles in for routine planned and unplanned maintenance.In addition Pep Boys is like an auto parts store! They have light bulbs, wiper blades, side mirrors, rear mirrors, Hot Wheels, Decals, Seat Cushions, Tools, buckets, rags, wax, lawn mowers, fuses, and a ton more of stuff! You can find just about everything at Pep Boys!Visit this Pep Boys store in Orange Park and compare as you will be glad you did. Tried to charge me 1700.00 for an ac compressor replacement. Got it done elsewhere for 945.00. Told my wife he would charge for 7 hours of labor when this work is typically 5 or less. If you like being robbed or taken advantage of as a woman this is the place for you.

They are not what one would call honest. Regardless of what they quote you they will run up the price and may not fix the problem with your automobile. The $110 per hour maintenance fee is virtually criminal.

Had the car towed in last night for a new starter, oil change, wiper blades etc. Was informed after all of the work had been performed that the shifter cable was damaged and the car could not be driven. Although car was shifted after arrival at Pep Boys without any notification of the issue they are blaming the tow company and visa versa. Ill follow up the review once I receive a response from the manager, regional manager and or corporate as I go through the motions.Update: Stephanie in customer service did her best to rectify the situation which resulted in the labor being comped. I was still on the hook for the part $90 but did receive a discounted price. I would recommend you speak with Stephanie if you have any issues.
