Theyre booked solid, for two weeks...Id rather let my car sit in the driveway (only using it for essentials), than take it anywhere else. Nuf said!

Ive gotta be honest, Im very hesitant to write this 5 Star review about KARS Automotive. Why? Because they are always so booked up, its already hard enough to get a quick appointment to bring in my car in there for service. And by giving this review, it will just make getting an appointment that much more difficult! Mike Kauffman is absolutely the most honest and trustworthy and knowledgeable auto repair person you could ever find. Mike and his wife and crew are very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your vehicle is repaired quickly and correctly. Oh and I have to mention also that their prices are very reasonable, and with no annoying up-selling. Highly recommend!

You wont find a more trustworthy businessMike at Kars Automotive has done work on several of my vehicles including brakes, catalytic converter, oil changes, head gaskets and timing belts. Every job has gone flawlessly. I have never had to return a vehicle for an improper repair. Mike has always been completely up front about what he feels needs done and what isnt of concern. I used to do nearly all of my own work on my vehicles because I felt I was the only person I could trust to do the work. Mike is one of the only shops that I can say I have unequivocal faith in to repair a vehicle for me. The cherry on top is that Mikes prices arent anywhere near what a dealership would charge. Its businesses like Kars that Google should add the option for a 6th star. MIKE IS THAT GOOD.

Mike has worked on my car as well as my family members’ cars; he does great work and is very honest and caring.

If I could rate less than 1 star, I would. I was referred here for help on why my cars on board diagnostics show incomplete or unready when there has been no check engine light, new battery placement, or repair. I am unable to go through DEQ because of this issue. I. was assured by Mike, the owner, that he would do some research, and he sounded very enthusiastic about doing so, telling me he has access to information that his company pays for, leaving me feeling good about finding out the problem. He told me he would get back to me the next day. I heard nothing so today I asked him if he was able to find out anything and his response was, Not sure. Sorry. I was flabbergasted. I suspect he never researched anything. I have now lost 2 more days trying to remedy this before my tags expire tomorrow. Very poor way to treat a potential new customer. I am also disabled and have very little energy or funds to try and run this down. I would advise that if you are looking for an honest mechanic, dont go to Karrs in Oregon City.

Mike is the only true honest mechanic I know. He has never swindled or scammed me on anything. He tells me the truth even if it cost him money. You wont find a more honest mechanic.

Never again, I took my vehicle here after it overheated. I spent a few hundred dollars on a few repaired hoses and water pump. A short time later my truck overheated again on the highway and had to get it towed to kars, and spent a few hundred more on a new radiator and labor. Not a couple weeks after I was on my way to work to Washington and my truck over headed again and again had to get it towed back to kars and after a month at this shop I found out it was a bad head gasket and was going to cost almost a grand to fix. I made the decision that my truck was not worth the repair and would just sell it as is on craigslist. I got a call and a guy came to my house to look at it and made an offer. And to sell a vehicle that you were told had a huge repair to be made I had to sell it for very cheap and an hour after I had sold it the gentleman drove my truck back to my house to tell me he had just driven my truck 20 miles without over heating after replacing a $12 thermostat and two gallons of antifreeze. So after sending my truck to kars 3 times for the same problem and spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on towing and repairs and then finally giving the vehicle away based on the information given to me from kars. I will never take another vehicle here again and would tell anyone who would listen the same thing.

Horrible!!! My 4-runner has been in his shop for 3 years. He fixed a head gasket, never filled oil. Blew the motor. Then he convinced me to go with a 3.4l. I would cover parts he would cover labor. He never told me he had never done it before. 3 years later, all parts are paid for, 4-runner still not running and Mike never returns my phone calls. Been leaving messages 3x per week for last 3 months.
