University Motors replaced my motor and then a year later rebuilt my transmission on my Infiniti M45. They also fixed my a/c when it wasn’t working. And on top of all that they even replaced my oil pan when that cracked. They are straight forward and upfront with the pricing. They don’t try to take advantage of you, like most car repair shops in Oxford. Amazing people and amazing work. Wouldn’t trust another shop in town besides University Motors. Keep up the great work guys!
I had a fantastic experience here, the guys who helped me were friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. I especially loved that they took the time to show and explain to me what was wrong with the car (I had a broken weld, simple fix) and what they were going to do to fix it. It was overall a great experience and I plan to return with any and all future auto issues.Highly recommend!!!
Went above and beyond to fix a hard problem. Got me in at the last minute. Will definitely be going back.
2 hours before a 6 hour drive I found low tire pressure. They worked me in, found a nail, repaired the tire in under an hour for a really reasonable price! Could not have been more pleased. Highly recommend!!!
Mother took her car there and they did a great job with the alternator as well as fixed something else that was making a grinding noise very reasonable fee done at a very reasonable pace I would recommend
Best in town. Real pros! Affordable price, good service.
They didnt charge me to look at the car and made it clear from the get go that they were not charging extra for parts. They quoted me the same price for parts as I found online. On top of this, they found out my car didnt actually need a more expensive repair and saved me a bunch of money. Extremely honest people working here.
Always honest, unlike a lot of mechanics. The prices are perfectly reasonable. The ability to drop the vehicle off the night before is great for us folks that work third shift.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Love these guys, they do great work.
Prices were very fair as well as the labor charge. Will definitely go there for work on our truck!!
Super friendly and as quick as they are able for the job at hand. Went for a simple oil change and they caught my sneaky little brake light that had blown and changed it. The only reason im rating this a 4* instead of a 5* is because while i didnt mind and i was capable of covering it, additional work beyond requested work should always be discussed with the customer prior to service. While i am thankful that they changed it to look out for me, i do prefer to change bulbs in pairs as opposed to singles and would have rather both been changed at once however on another note what if i had not had the finances to cover the bulb and small labor fee for replacing said bulb? It would have been embarrassing likely. So in summary, great staff, quick and friendly service. Just a few things to work out that im sure customers would appreciate.
Great service Tracy has kept my daughters hoopty running through college at Miami till well after graduation highly RECOMMENDED
Great service and always accommodate my forgetfulness
Honest and good prices
Honest great customer service describes these hard-working individuals.
There awesome very friendly affordable and trustworthy
I think this is a great shop. I do a lot of mechanical repairs myself but when its freezing cold outside or theres something I dont have the tools to do this is where I go. Ive interacted with Dave, Tracy, and Hueston all of whom have been straightforward, fair and reasonable. If Ive ever had to bring the car back for a service Ive already paid for they accommodate and dont overcharge.
Neat little place, checked out their small inside collection. Friendly service too.
Top notch auto service. Hueston & Tracy always take great care of my vehicles and me. Everything from a simple oil/filter change to major engine work is done well. The mechanics who do the work have been excellent.I have been going to University Motors for over 15 years. If you find a good mechanic/auto service you stick with it. I highly recommend them.👍
Did not need repair after all, but staff was very friendly and recommended by my faughter
My entire family (parents and siblings) has used University Motors for many years. We have bought many cars from them and had service work done for all sorts of things. Truth: Tracy and Mr. Kyger truly care about helping people. Their estimates are accurate and they always present options to reduce costs, let me know what can be delayed and what is urgent, etc. I trust them as I would friends, and after all these years they really are friends. People who have lived in Oxford know that they care deeply about their reputation for honesty and good work on your car. This business is NOT out to make a quick buck. Instead, they want to build a trusting relationship and earn life-long loyalty from their customers. They have been there for me for over 25 years, and they have never let me down in any way. My mom and dad have even longer experience with the business. You can really believe that University Motors wants to be a part of a community that helps each other and supports each other. They have a strong moral compass and the skills you need. It is a real comfort to have that kind of relationship with a mechanic and a car dealer. I trust these guys, and you can too. I recommend them to everyone who needs car help, a sound used car, or even advice about what route to take (can I keep my older car running or is it time to replace, etc.). Good people. Really good people.
Not a salesman....a mechanic. He wont talk you into something you dont need. Reliable and honest.
How can you not give these men 5 stars. I bring my car here whenever I have an issue. Its fixed promptly and always done right. If you feel it wasnt, they will double and triple check their work. You can guarantee they are here to help you and not empty your pockets. Had an issue with my car quite recently. Look at it for no cost and gave me an estimate. Told me to contact Chevy support because my car shouldnt have the issues that were currently going on. Few days later, my car was covered for free by Chevy. They go above and beyond. The best mechanic shop Ive been to in a long time.
Hometown service!
Excellent service... Real mechanics here not those who ride high calling themselves technicans that can fix nothing. The communication is also excellent. I will add they give you a price and thats what you pay when you pick up your car.
Had frequent repairs done here to my aging vehicle over a period of 5 years while I lived in the area. Their work was always thorough, they were honest about pricing and and where the cost was coming from, and how long the repair would take given their current workload. I would recommend them to anyone in the area, and wish there were more shops like them in Columbus.
We couldnt have been treated better from our own hometown dealer. Went in with a question on our Jeep and the Service Writer was so very nice and helped us immediately. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.
We brought my daughters car to them on 2 separate occasions. Both times these guys were amazing. Super fair prices and very helpful! Thank you University Motors!
True Pros. My sons a sophomore Miami student and needed a front hub assembly for this Chevy Avalanche. Labor was VERY affordable. They were even made an exception to install a part he already had which is not very common at repair shops. Seems they go out of their way to help the local students. Workmanship was quick (on short notice) and reliable.Saw some other post where they question how someone would know if they are locally owned. I believe all the posts I read were from a review that stated a local company which does not necessarily mean locally owned.Bottom line is you want to find a place who is honest and does work for a fair price which they do. My son is very mechanical as am I, but at school, he has minimal tools with him and would not have been able to do this himself unless back home in NY. I recommend you give these guys a shot at least once and see for yourself.
These guys are the only credible guys in town. They did a good job on my truck which Monroe brakes couldnt do. I appreciate their professionalism. Go see them, they are good.
My daughter is a student at Miami, and she had her car towed to University Motots. My daughter knows little about cars and could have easily been taken advantage of. As It turned out, I picked the right place. the issue with the car was a very simple problem, and they fixed it promptly for very little money.. in short,They did a great job!
One of my best experiences, thanks!
They were super helpful and willing to work with me. They were very good at communicating with me and giving me all the options. Would definitely recommend.
Staff is always very friendly, open, and honest. Ive been bringing my vehicles here for years. Theyve earned my business.
Unsatisfied with last transaction. Will not return. They over charge on parts, Part cost was 260.00. I found same part for 160.00 from ford dealer. If i am paying a premium labor rate, why is there a need to mark up a part so much? Repair was satisfactory. They said they need to keep the lights running. I am a repeat customer. Good luck with your transaction if you choose this shop.
The guys at U Motors were so nice and helpful during the entire process. They let me just tow the car there, check out the problem, and then gave me phone call updates as the situation warranted. They were always there to answer the phone, the repair was done in about a day, and the staff was knowledgeable not just about the repair, but were able to answer all of my questions as well. I would recommend taking a car here if someone had a problem.
I cannot say enough about these guys. Reasonable prices, fast, friendly and fair.
- Reasonable prices.- Polite and professional.- High quality work.- Very fast work
Good work, good people. Much appreciated every time.
They had my car for a little over two weeks, and had charged me about $650 to fix an issue that didnt even fix what was wrong with my car. Wouldnt recommend.
My daughter is a Miami student that had a dead battery that campus police could not jump. I called University Motors to ask if they could send somone out to jump it and replace the battery for her. Without hesitation they offered to go to campus later (it was 4 degreess that day) in the day and called her to coordinate the service with my daughter. She drove it to their shop where they replaced the battery and a fuse. This service was offered at just the cost of the battery and small amount for labor. The trip to campus was just part of their service. Prompt service, nice people, and will trust them with the car.
They wanted to charge me $600 to replace my turn signal; ended up costing $69 at a mechanic back home. Needless to say, Im incredibly glad I got a second opinion. Will never return or recommend to anyone, theyre an absolute rip off.
Great Shop! Everyone there was delightful to work with, and very prompt. Same day sevice, and car was ready before they promised. Will be returning for my routine maintenance.
Got tires here a while ago. Tires were never balanced correctly, were overpriced, they never put the spare away in the trunk, and they STOLE my cornwell breaker bar. If I could give negative stars I would. NEVER GO HERE!
Everyone there is extremely nice and I absolutely trust them with my car!
Honest estimates. Reliable workmanship. Reasonable prices.
They fixed my car quickly and at a reasonable price
Good service, decent prices
I have been taking my car to this shop for several years now. It has always had the same issue and so far I have paid around $800 and issue is still not resolved. They are always very busy, but have been polite and always worked me in, even though it has taken them several days. The parts are always way higher (usual for shops). They have been nice enough on my last repair to make 2 payments so I could get to work. That being said, heres the bad. I took my vehicle to them because it was intermittently not turning over and stalling in gear when under 1000rpm. Every time I would take it there it would miraculously work. One time I took it, it wouldnt turn over. The computer said bad throttle position sensor. They supposedly replaced it and it didnt fix the issue so they took it back off. They then said it was the aftermarket security system. They removed it, still didnt turn over. Then they said it was the distributor. It turned over finally (remind you this issue is intermittent so that part may not have even been bad, and I had to pay labor for them to put all these parts on and off). Picked the car up and 2 days later it is doing the same thing where it is intermittently starting and stalling in gear when tacking under 1000rpm. I took it back and they said it was ignition wires. Paid, picked it up, 2 days later it is doing the same thing again. Took it back in and they say it is the throttle position sensor because it was cracked and someone glued it back together. I guess they forgot they had already tried that? Nothing was said about the sensor being damaged when they replaced it. Why would you put a cracked sensor back on a car? I finally gave up. Couple months later I catch a time it is doing it and put it on the computer and the only code it is throwing is for throttle position sensor. I have been working with a certified mechanic to trace the cause as well and we purchased the sensor went to put it on tonight and found that the metal clip is broken, and both screws are stripped out. They were the last place that took the sensor off so they were the ones who did it. I also have a missing bolt from the valve cover that was removed to get access to the screw. Im scared to know what else they have broken and covered up. Now I have to cut these bolts off and tap. Theres no way for me to prove these things, but I thought I would share my experience. Like I said, nice people, but I think they are rushed, dont have enough people, and in that rush they break things and dont own up to it and dont take the time to find the issue before replacing parts.
Really competent, honest, fair in my experience.
My wife dropped my truck off to hav brakes done i had purchased front calipers rear calipers front rotors only thing didnt hav was rear rotors an brakes my purchased parts were around 570.00 they put two rear shocks in it an brakes job the ticket for work 1300.00 an they put new rotor on front right with a bad bearing....do not recommend them to anyone!
Impeccable service.
I like some of the others, like the convenience of local. Too often you have to go to Cincy for things to be done or to purchase parts. I have used them three times, and the experience was good each time. I refuse to go anywhere that I even detect a hint of gouging going on and at this place I really havent. Honestly, I used to use Dan Hutten until he screwed me over, and even the Honda Dealer .. but have so far been happy with these guys.update 11/2/15 .. now the third or fourth time Ive used these guys and they are my heroes. They get anything done the dealer can and at less .. and without the hassle of having to travel to Fairfield to get it done. :).
The only mechanics I trust in this area. They do exactly whats needed, and dont go looking for things to change or scare you into changing something thats perfectly fine.
A good place for a oil change
Very honest people never felt i was being told something was wrong with my car when there wasnt very reasonable prices
In for routine service. They got me in and out when promised.
Awesome and prices are reasonable
