I Door dash as a second job and have to go there frequently. I literally have anxiety when I get an order there because the seafood department and pizza shop are so nasty to me when I show up. Sometimes they will completely ignore me or other times just be so mean and rude. Why? Im just trying to work. I dont harass them for the order, I always am polite and wait patiently. Ill just have to stop taking orders there but it sucks because typically its good tips.

Some good worker, very expensive. 100 dollars just on 1 12 pk 3 8 packs of water and 2 bags of ice. And they need to learn how to bag. Never put meat or fish with produce. Number 1 rule.

Some of the items are a bit pricey but great quality. Also Great staff and I love the bakery! One of the bakery staff members got my family addicted to chocolate chip cookies that taste like homemade. (Fortunately and unfortunately, the package only has 8 cookies). Thanks again Big Y.

For an old outdated store they do keep it pretty clean. Im glad they added the pizza shop to it, can also get an awesome grinder made there. Everything very fresh.

American owned market with hot food/bakery/deli. Very clean with a variety of selections. Staff super friendly and helpful.

Good variety of food know your prices because some products are priced good others priced high. Deli was good with sandwiches paninis pizza etc and some prepared meals such as whole chicken, mac and cheese, salads, suishi. Lobsters can be cooked for u. Variety of seafood such as clams, mussels fresh fish. Staff is usually helpful

Best of all fresh seafood and veggies. Such a diverse selection of all types of foods.

They must have redone this place recently it looks wonderful and was very clean. Only downside is the parking lot. Its a mess

Employees are always friendly. They dont always have what Im looking for but thats okay. Its usually something unusual like watermelon 🍉pickle or crab boil spices. Cheaper than stop and shop?

The store was well stocked..I only have one comment the girl at your deli was less than friendly. The cashier however was great caiden B and Anthony were great.

This store is the best! Always super clean. Yes, the food is always fresh and many organic items are available but, these are just a few of the things that make the place special. Your employees are ALWAYS pleasant and helpful! Last week was crazy busy (Christmas) and Jacob was running around making sure everything was stocked. I asked him a few times where items were and ... he was always right;). One item, he went to check “the back” . Who does that anymore!! I’m old enough to remember when they did.Then, there is Jim, the manager. He was helping me find a crazy sport drink my son likes, and when we couldn’t find it on the shelves, he actually got on his knees and checked the bottom shelves in the coolers! He found three!He’s STILL helping! Jim just phoned me and told me he just received a case of the drink and would I like to have some held for me at the service desk!There’s helpful and then there’s... above and beyond!!These guys deserve to be recognized for giving 100%P.S. maybe, you can raise the coolers off the floor ;)

They changed some of the Isles, nicer set up. The addition of self serv check out was good.

It was ok. Not as good or eclectic as the Southwick BigY but organized and the staff was friendly

Nice store they just remolded it (still in progress) although it just seems like there just getting new freezers. Did not see the soups last time I went there. They keep changing up where things are for example they put those big jugs of juice next to the diapers, very confusing.

Big y is another place to go shopping for me food

Store is very clean & most employees are very friendly. However, they lose points from me because of the way they behaved at the start of the pandemic. I was standing in line waiting to purchase my items, when an employee told me suddenly that the line was no longer open, although the light was on in the aisle and the employee had just checked out another customer in front of me. This was after I had already waited quite awhile. She directed me to the END of another line, when I had already been waiting and was next in line at the original register that was checking out customers. Why on Earth would they instruct a customer who was next in line to go all the way to the back of another line behind about 8-10 customers with carriages full, when I had maybe 4-5 items total & had already waited long enough? This was ridiculously unfair & I chose to leave the store without buying the items I needed due to this inconvenience and not having time to wait any longer. I had already waited and didnt have time to spend another 20 mins in line behind customers that hadnt been waiting even half as long as me. I hope that theyve since gotten their priorities straightened out. This is no way to treat customers! I wasnt expecting to cut anyone, but they shouldve allowed me to at least check out at the original register, before closing it unexpectedly. Ive never seen another store do something like that before. Very bad for business and good way to lose customers. I wont be back to this location.

Over priced bought a scallop dinerr had 4 scallops and asked for onion rings instead of fries got for of those for 14.99 yea wont be buying that again has happened more than once put a complaint at the seafood and got nowhere

I just wanted to share some great feedback about the clerk that is in the self check out line at the Palmer, Mass Big Y. His name is Zac.I have been through the line a couple of times when he has worked. No matter what day, he is always happy and cheerful. You cannot help have a better day when you go through his line.He is also extremely polite, very helpful and will go beyond what is expected to help customers.Today my card wasn’t working but I knew there was money on the card and he didn’t give up on me and kept doing it different ways. It did finally go through. Another customer who was checking out at the same time left their wallet at home and Zach said “not a worry we will put everything in the freezer so it doesn’t get ruined”. I am sure the customer was a bit embarrassed but Zac kept everything the world down and just took care of the problem.I am not sure how old Zac is, he must be in his 20s or so. In any event, it is rare that you see people that age with a good and kind work ethic.Whoever recruited Zac to work at big Y in the self check out line knew what they were doing.Bravo Zac bravo keep up the good work! I can’t wait till they promote you to a team lead.

Need to pay more attention to the expiration dates on the fruits and vegetables, not uncommon for me to find mold on something, and it discourages me from getting that thing all together 🙃

Up to Big Y expectations. You can get almost anything you want or need, but its the priciest grocery store I have ever gone to. I go there very infrequently and only for fish & chips or cut flowers (sometimes).

I cannot stand that they dont have plastic bags, I love paying for paper bags that break and ruin my groceries. I would drive 3 hours out of my way to avoid the inconvenience.

One of the smaller stores. However during this time where space between people is mandated they do a good job of check out. Their deli not only has prepackaged meat theirs is also open for you to get exactly what you want. They also still have a pretty good selection of items.

I noticed their prices went up during covid-19 pandemic but they have not come back down.Not to mention there are some items they only order a few of every 3 months or so. Popcorners being one of them. I often have to go to another store along with this one. Wish Palmer would get a Market Basket grocery store. They need a competitor

The Palmer Big Y has been in town for decades. It continues to be the GoTo location for all your grocery needs. The store is clean. The products are fresh. The employees are helpful and friendly. I recommend the Palmer Big Y to anyone thats in search of a place to conduct all their grocery shopping needs.

Great quick stop no long lines

The selection is superior to that of Stop & Shop, but the prices of every single item is higher than Whole Foods for Whole Foods 100% organic foods (for non-organic at Big Y). The staff are mostly children (18 to 19 years old) and extremely unfriendly. If you need something quickly and theyre closest, then worthwhile. Otherwise my having paid $124.xx for 3 bags of non-organic food shows just how shockingly high their prices are. Nearby if you need something quickly, but not ideal as your usual/standard/daily supermarket.

The big y In Palmer is an awesome place to shop. Even though their a little pricey at times you can still manage to find great deals. Especially the buy one get two sales. The Palmer big y is super clean. And all the staff are really friendly.

Please get rid of the arrows in the aisles. They make no sense and no one uses them. Please. For our sanity get rid of the arrows!!!!!!! Its bad enough youre making us wear masks that dont work. Other than that.. thanks for all you do

Big Y provides good quality food for reasonable prices. Also their customer service is great. The employees are always very helpful. Even in our small store in Ware we have a good variety of products.

This is probably better described as Medium Y as its one of their smaller stores. They lack some of the things a Big Y might carry, not to a terrible detriment, but it would be nice to sometimes have more selection. Their food is good quality, and often have BOGT (buy one get two) sales on things, good to stock up on if youve the storage space. Their house branded food isnt so bad either, and the bakery does a reasonably decent job. If you havent shopped here yet, give it a try.

This store is clean, safe to walk around in (nothing blocking the isles), and has a wide selection of foods. I found the staff friendly and helpful when I needed to ask if they carried a certain item. Checking out was swift. Cashier was friendly and efficient.

Nice family run supermarket. Love the bakery, items taste homemade. Seafood counter is great. Deli has a good selection of tasty treats. Overall the store has quality items.

Its big y... Anyone thats goes there should know to watch the sales as they love to put the signs in the wrong place so you grab the wrong item you thought was on sale. Its is one of the more expensive places to get food too. If you need something quick to finish a meal its fine. But for filling your fridge there is way better place to get food close (like Walmart)... The meat here is way over priced too. Pretty much double or more then going to Costco. Again only on sale I will buy meats other then that its ridiculous. This place hasnt been updated as long as I have lived in Palmer (30+ years) the only change I have seen is they have moved isles around and added pizza. The pizza is pretty decent also. I do prefer to go to the one on Boston rd over this one as its set up way nicer and better selections.

I have been shopping at big y for so long that I know almost everyone that works there. They are like family. So very helpful and very pleasant. And I always seem to buy more then what I went in for because I always seem to run into a sale that I cant pass up. Thank you for being there

Large supermarket in Palmer. Excellent local produce in summer. Good amount of choice. Has Grab & Go foods at Deli counter. Panera soups available. Staff very friendly.

My daughter loves visiting this location, because they always have things that appeal to children- Elf on the Shelf during the holidays, free cookies for children, and free fruit while you shop. Employees are always personable, and theyre checkout time has vastly improved over the Last year.

The Belchertown Big Y is above average. They have a great selection but also at a slightly higher price. The staff is friendly and the store is clean. There is also an Ocean State Job Lot in the same plaza so they get points for convenience.

BigY is a nice store, usually always clean. Plenty of employees around to help out as needed. My only qualms are the prices are almost always higher than other grocery stores and they use an excessive amount of bags unless you tell them not to!

This is my local Big Y, pleasant & courteous young people work there, fruits & vegetables get a 5 on 1 to 10 scale. The deli is OK, meats & seafood OK, the baked goods are OK, pizza shop is probably the worst one out of all the local Big Y.
