We just recently remodeled our kitchen. After looking at multiple places we went to Stone Source for our counter tops. Jennifer was amazing, she asked what we were looking for and she took me to the slab that was beyond what I have imagined. They were very professional and helpful and installed the countertop and actually the backsplash in a very timely matter. Jennifer responded to all of our questions right away. She even came out to our house to check on how things were going. I would highly recommend stone source especially if you are not looking for the run of the mill slab.

I hired stonesource to install new quartz countertops with an undermount sink. They were awesome. I also considered Menards but when I found that I had to measure myself and hire a handyman to install vs. Stonesources laser measuring and professional installation, the small price difference was well worth it. Once I made the decision, the process was complete in 3 or 4 weeks. I was pleased with every step of the process...initial quotes from Jen, material selection with Amy, measurement with Sergei, and install with Jason and crew.

Very disappointed in Stone Source. We had a granite countertop and under mount stainless steel sink installed by Stone Source in our kitchen seven years ago. The sink is literally falling off of the granite. Our plumber told us it was never installed correctly and told us we should notify the company that installed it. Stone Source refused to accept responsibility for the issue. Instead, they offered to fix it for $300.00. Additionally, they proceeded to charge our credit card for the repair prior an appointment even being scheduled for the repair. I have never experienced a situation before where I was charged for a repair before the situation had even been assessed. I sent pictures of the faulty product, and left voice messages for the manager. My calls were not returned. I have since had the sink repaired by a reputable company. They too said that it had not been installed correctly. I cant recommend a company that treats their clients this way.

I have worked with Stone Source twice. My first project was a good experience so I decided to go back. Do not choose Stone source unless you like to gamble.

Do not use Stone Source if you want timely, quality service. We have been thoroughly disappointed in this company. We only had granite installed in a small kitchen and it was an awful process. On the day of installation they called to explain that the sink counter granite was cracked. They tried to see if we would accept it. When we refused, we had to wait a day for another piece. When this was installed, it was discovered that it was thicker than the other pieces. The pieces were removed again and it took another 2 days before they had ground the piece down to the correct size. After installation, it was discovered that the hole they left for the faucet installation was too small. This meant that we had to buy another faucet. This was despite the fact that we had told them that we wanted to keep our original faucet and it had been left in the kitchen for them to guarantee the correct hole size. Be warned, if you use Stone Source it could be a much more expensive procedure than you anticipate. Also, we were not able to use our kitchen for 6 days!

We had a custom built vanity that Stone Source did a great job of fitting. Measurements were exact within 1/64 of an inch and this was critical because we had to fit in a shower door and put in a notch on the vanity top. The piece we picked out was one of a kind, so if there were any errors in cutting it would have been ruined. Our installers, Mike and Thomas, were great. They had to haul the slab up three flights of stairs! Sinks were installed correctly. We had already told them we would do the hookups. They checked to be sure our faucets would fit. The stone we picked out was perfect! Our experience with sales was great. The associate working with our project even gave us her weekend cell number since we were installing on a Monday.

At first, it was good. But the day of installation, the installers came with a big slab of granite and only 2 people to carry it in. My husband had to help carry it in. Then they forgot a piece and had to come back later in the day. When he was installing the last piece, he hit a previously installed piece and broke off a corner. Their solution was to epoxy the corner back into place. We contacted our sales person immediately. She assured us all would be fine. We asked to be compensated for the broken and repaired corner. Their only comeback offer was $100 off tile back splash. So the only way they were offering to compensate us for their installer breaking our granite (which was already paid in full by the way) was for us to pay them more money to buy and have a back splash installed by them. I think not!Very disappointing result. Stone source always comes back with thats a risk you take when purchasing natural stone. So, if you are a risk taker go ahead an buy from stone source. Its a risk I wouldnt take again or recommend to anyone I know!!

We had two installers coming in: a very young one, who didnt seem to know what he was doing, and the older one who didnt speak or understand English. I stepped out with the dog while they were removing our old countertop and sink. I came back in to the noise of gushing water. They were both trying to contain the hot water which was spraying from the under sink water pipe. The younger installer told me that he accidentally broke the pipe. I started panicking and screamed We should shut the water!!! To which he replied Maybe we should. In the meantime kitchen ceiling and floors were getting soaking wet. I went downstairs to find that the water was running down through the ceiling, on walls, bed and soaking into carpet. I immediately called the office and explained the situation. The manager I spoke to was very dismissive and told me he had already spoken to the installers and they said it wasnt that bad. When I insisted it was, he said he wanted to see for himself. He came, had a look and told me to put a fan into downstairs room and bring the bed mattress out to air. It was clear to me a little fan wouldnt do and as for the mattress airing - it was drizzling outside. I then got in touch with companys owner and he send Service Master to access the situation. They said they werent sure if our brand new kitchen floor would be rescued (since there was A LOT of water) and put two suction mats on the floor and three industrial size fans in the house. The noise these fans were making was uncomfortable (to put it mildly)and they stayed with us for days.As the luck would have it, that very same weekend we had family arriving from overseas, who were supposed to stay in the downstairs bedroom, which was dry by then but in total disarray. Everything did get repaired (took weeks though) at the cost of Stone Source. However, Im disappointed that for all this stress, inconvenience and hassle we werent offered any compensation whatsoever.

I can go to Stone Source to talk with an expert on granite, have a salesperson manage the entire project, choose the granite slabs right from the showroom, complete the nesting process in the showroom/fabrication area, and have plumbing, carpentry, and electrical hookups handled in one place. These jokers installed a new granite countertop with a crack all the way through narrow portion by sink. Who installs a broken piece? It is a criminal mistake. A broken piece of granite was actually installed in my home. Stone Source says the piece can be repaired easily. What? They put it in broken! I do not want it repaired, it should be replaced immediately! They are not immediately doing anything for us. To make the experience even worse than it already is - the sink they installed was stained, spotty and appears used already. My wife can not get it clean. It is an absolute discgrace what they have put in my home. I am offended at the sight of their work and broken piece of granite I payed a small fortune for. In the end Stone Source completed the project successfully and my kitchen counter tops look fantastic. There were, however, many problems along the way. In order to get Stone Source to replace poorly installed and badly cracked piece of granite, I had to get the help of the BBB. Before contacting the BBB Stone Source kept quoting their contract to me, implying that pretty much no mater what was wrong with the granite they installed, they had the right to fix it. Yes, granite is a natural product and sometimes this may be the case, but not always. In my case there was a large crack in front of the sink, a terrible seam where two pieces were joined, a chip in the front right corner, small fissures where the holes were drilled for the faucet and the holes for the faucet were not centered on the sink. Stone Source stood firm on not wanting to replace the granite until I called the BBB.My recommendation to anyone working with them: if you have a problem and they are not being reasonable with you, let them know that you will be opening a case with the BBB. If they still seem to want to play hardball, call the BBB and get their help. This is what I did and they did work to resolve the complaint.

We had been looking for counter tops for about three years and what held us back from making a purchase revolved around the removal and installation of the counters. When talking to friends and acquaintances and looking at internet reviews we heard many horror stories about poor fabrication and damage done during the removal and installation of the new counters. Since our two bathroom counter installations were viewed as more complex due to size, counter shape, large mirrors adhered to the wall, and the bathrooms being wallpapered; finding a quality fabricator and installer was very important in our purchase decision. As with other home remodeling services such as carpeting, there are many retailers selling a quality product, but it must be combined with a quality fabrication and installation effort for a customer to be truly satisfied. After much shopping around and based on the recommendation of a neighbor, we just had two bathroom counter tops replaced with granite counter tops from Stone Source. Our new counter tops look great, the removal/installation was top notch, and if you buy during one of their sale events their prices beat all competition in the western suburbs. Our installers did a great job in removal of the old counters, took great care in installation of the new, and they seemed genuinely concerned in doing a quality job and making the customer happy. Based on our experience, I would recommend Stone Source if you are in the market for quality stone counter tops.

My wife and I choose Stone Source USA for our new kitchen countertops and couldn’t be happier with the results. We looked at several different companies but kept returning to Stone Source as they had the best selection and we really enjoyed working with Interior Designer Cora. After picking out our slabs (Madre Perla Quartzite), Cora walked us through the measuring, cutting, and installation process.Measurement was scheduled and performed on time. We had custom made cabinets with a corner sink, and I explained during measurement that we wanted the sink moved as-close-as possible to the edge of the countertop. With a 29.5 x 17 double-bowl sink, it was going to be a tight fit, and we didn’t want to stretch to reach the faucet.Once measurement was complete, Cora contacted us to review the slabs prior to cutting. We had two and a half slabs to work with but only needed one and half slabs of material. It’s important to note at this point that, unless you plan to buy all of the slabs, Stone Source (as well as anyone else) is going to get the maximum material out of each slab. The review process let us to pick our “favorite” slab, as well as note areas we wanted to include / exclude from the cuts. A day after the review, we received an email from Cora showing the proposed cuts for our approval. We had a couple questions regarding the proposed cuts, so we stopped by Stone Source and Cora pulled up the cuts on the computer. She explained the alternate layouts they tried and why they felt this was the best layout. It was apparent after 30 seconds they knew more about cutting stone than we did. They were open to trying another layout, but after hearing the reasons behind the design, we agreed the proposed cuts were best. With the cuts approved, our installation date was set. The day before, we had brackets installed for our 12” overhang. As with the measurement, bracket installation was scheduled and performed on time. The next day, the installers showed up. I was nervous with the new cabinets and walls, but installation was quick and painless. The countertops looked flawless and the walls and cabinets were untouched.A day after installation, I did find one minor glitch with the sink mounting. Prior to hooking up the plumbing, I inspected the silicon seal and noticed that one corner appear to have a small gap where the silicon seal didn’t appear complete. Rather than patch the seal myself, I contacted Cora and Stone Source sent another crew to inspect the seal the next day. The second crew determined that the clip in that corner could have been snugged a bit more (it was in a difficult location due to the corner sink), so they dropped the entire sink and remounted it again. That did the trick and the seal is now perfect.Overall, we couldn’t be happier. The glitch with the silicon seal was just that…a minor glitch…and Stone Source promptly fixed it, no questions asked. Stone Source and Cora delivered everything as promised and our new countertops looks great!

Product Ok. Installation below par. Service bad. Overall not a very satisfying experience.Start to end experience:1. We went to showroom to select and order. Cora was very good. She patiently walked through a lot of samples we picked and ordered.2. Marla from scheduling called later and setup the date / time schedule for tear up (or demo) / counter top install / back splash install. Marla did a good job. She even sent a google meeting invite.3. The installation team came in, tore up the existing tiles and in the process broke a bunch of stuff. Then they drained a lot of tile powder for which I had to call a plumber to unclog.4. The countertop installation team came next day. They were good. Spoke little english (except one person who was fluent). But they did the job ok. There is only one join (as designed) and they sealed it well (barely noticeable)5. Backsplash install was just barely Ok.Overall there is a big difference on the demos in the showroom vs the finished product at home. There is no ownership of the actual install. There is no drive to make it look good for the customer in their home.6. Called stone source to address the breakages. I was promptly connected with Cora, who again took down my concerns and told me I will get a call back.7. The manager called to address and started yelling on the phone. We did not ask the team to touch anything that they are not supposed to do. The manager claims in response that we asked them to disconnect plumbing etc. That is not true. The team came, inspected the kitchen. We removed the top drawers and all kitchen ware from the counter top. They proceeded to take it apart. Nobody mentioned that we had to remove the plumbing, not even during the sale.Bad management / after sales service. Find a different place if you can. Also definitely avoid if you are redoing your existing setup. May be ok for new installs.Response to the manager who was yelling and responded to my review:You cannot do whatever you want and then claim you did 500 dollar worth of service or 1000 dollar worth of service. You first had no right to remove plumbing if you are not a licensed plumber. I never signed off saying please come and break shut-off valves and lights. Also here are some more facts.1. Your salesperson never said that plumbing needs to be disconnected. All she said was that we need a plumber to fit the new faucet after install.2. You did not visit the work site even after complaint. Instead you called and started claiming that you did a lot more work than you promised which is a lie (and oh, the yelling).3. The first day when 2 people came, first one showed up 15 mins before the second one. Both individually and together came up to see the kitchen. Neither said anything about the connected plumbing either.4. As they proceeded with their work, they just asked one question the whole day. Where is the water main?. They had to shut it off because they broke the shutoff valves under the sink.5. Whether they removed the trap first or later, I honestly cannot tell because I was not watching their work. All I know is my kitchen was working very well. We came to your shop for upgrade, not repair. The emergency plumber had to be called just 4 hours after your install team put the counter top the next day because it is not draining. I have the receipt to show if you want to see.And lastly, dont yell. You dont want to pay for the damage and you can say that calmly.

I recently purchased kitchen and powder room countertops and sinks from Stone Source. The good:Everything looks great and I am happy with the final results. Stone Source has a great selection of granite slabs. The bad:I paid $300 for removal of the existing laminate countertops. There was a fair amount of wall and some cabinet damage during removal. Maybe significant damage is to be expected but the whole reason I hired the professionals was to minimize it. There was also a huge mess left for me to clean up.What bothered more me was when the kitchen countertop was removed, the installers said there is a strip of wood on top of the cabinets that they are not allowed or equipped to trim.Thankfully I had the tools (a hand jigsaw with a fence) and experience to remove it. If not I would have been left without a usable kitchen until I could find someone else to do it!The second problem was in the powder room. They brought a sink that was completely different from the one we picked out in their showroom. We ended up getting the actual showroom sink but it meant taking another day off work since the installers had to come back after the countertop was re-cut. Supposedly the sink design changed but the part number of the sink remained the same.I discussed the issues with the salesperson and asked Stone Source to provide some stacked stone for our fireplace either free or at a discount for all my trouble. They gave me the contractor discount (about $80) off the $500 order. I would have gotten this discount anyway by having my tile installer purchase it. The overall cost for the project was about $5,500.The final results are good but I was underwhelmed with the installation experience and follow up. Hopefully Stone Source will take this as constructive criticism and do better for other customers.

The only reason we used Stone Source was because they were the only place in town with the granite we liked.Terrible customer service. Whenever you call, no one can seem to answer a question, and then they take days to call you back.We decided on our countertop without any help from a sales rep, but the girl we signed papers with became our representative. Once you have a sales rep, no one else will answer your questions, they just direct you to the voicemail of your sales rep. So if you get a bad representative, or one who only works a few days a week, youre out of luck. Even basic questions or the scheduling of appointments will not be handled by anyone else. Unfortunately, in our experience, our sales rep wouldnt call us back for days. When they installed our countertops, they set the granite down on our NEW wood floor and dented them. Overall, installed it looks okay, not the most professional looking at the seams or at the backsplash.About 6 months after the install, our sink started detaching from the granite. Called to get it fixed, it took WEEKS to finally get a phone call back from the install /service department. We were calling them every few days to follow up, but again no one had an answer, and the people who did would not call us back. The sink was eventually fixed, but it took an unreasonable amount of time and phone calls on our part, and again, the job does not look that professional (looks more like a DIY fix).If someone else would have had the granite we wanted, we would have taken our business elsewhere. Highly suggest that other customers shop around before committing to Stone Source.

Unfortunately my experience was not what I had hoped for. During install one of the countertops cracked at the front where the cook top was placed. While the repair provided was adequate, it was visible and more then a fissure,as they elected to refer to it. The only remedy offered was a warranty for a year, that covers stains and small fissures, not cracks. (read the fine print before paying $250 for this warranty package) A weeks worth of dialogue led to the company accepting no repsonsibility and placing ownership soley on me and the eventually buyer of the newly remodled home that we have listed for sale.

Sure enough, cut me off in traffic and then proceeded to roll the window down and give me the finger. Would not let these guys on my property. Very unprofessional and turned me to another company for an upcoming project.

Stone Source has an amazing warehouse with bountiful options of materials. It can be overwhelming! But we worked with Sarah H, who went above and beyond to provide samples for us and to help us explore all our options for our bathroom remodel. We enjoyed our visits to the store and working with her on our project. Thanks!
