We had a great experience getting the beachy blowout for my daughter to attend Homecoming without an updo. She had movie star hair for the night. Would recommend for special occasions and for anyone who wants that extra polish with your hair down.
Awesome Wedding updos for all the ladies!!! Had a great time with great service. Such a lovely little hair boutique
Had a good experience but its super shady for the booking form to say that 18% gratuity included and then for the stylist to encourage additional tipping on top of that. Stylist said, the gratuity is for my salary, which, um, then thats not a gratuity.
The owner Tara is mentally unstable. DO NOT buy a Groupon to use here.... and for sure dont pay full price . This place is a scam. 20 year old hairstylist that caused extreme breakage to my hair.
We had a small bridal party to go to the Portland blowout location for hair and make-up. The stylist did a great job of asking each person questions to help them better understand what they were looking for. The bride and her daughter were thrilled with the results. They had two very different styles in mind, and these stylists followed their vision and made them feel beautiful.
My stylist did an awesome job! I really dont like the tip situation, though. Its mentioned on the website that they have instituted an automatic 18% gratuity, and that you shouldnt feel obligated to tip, but they dont mention it at all in the salon and when I asked about it, the answer was it goes to pay my hourly wage. But theres still a tip line on the receipt and palpable pressure to tip in addition to the gratuity. I would have had a much better experience and would have tipped MORE if this gratuity didnt exist. It just seems like a ploy to help line the owners pockets.
I used to frequent this place at least twice a week. But I will never visit again and neither should you. I had my hair colored at the on-site salon; the job was botched, like need to wear a hat botched. What was supposed to be blonde highlights was blotchy, green and gray. Absolutely terrible. I called to ask if I could make another appointment - I’m willing to pay full price- just need to get it fixed. I was told the woman who did my hair quit and I’d have to speak to the owner. I left 3 messages and the owner never called me back. I didn’t even ask for anything but an appointment - can you imagine if I’d asked for a discount? The owner is known to not pay her employees and bank their tips, I’ve heard it from everyone who has done my hair. The “tips included” was just a way for her to raise prices. For a female owner business- I’d expect more. Take responsibility for your business, be respectful of your clients who have spent thousands at your locations and pay your employees.
Thank you Blowout, I looked amazing for my Prom! Loved my hair and makeup and you helped be find a style that would work with my Prom Dress. I appreciate your attention to detail and the enthusiasm for my big night out! Thanks again
I went to Blowout before Homecoming. I had my hair and makeup done for a 60s themed dance. It looked amazing. The stylist helped me put a headband to create a really cute style. My makeup was amazing...she was really able to capture the look with my eye makeup. I could have NEVER done such a great job as they did.Stylist have great ideas about how to do your hair if you ask them. Thanks Blowout for making me feel beautiful and making getting ready for my dance so fun!
Yikes, so expensive for a basic blowout, I was charged extra to use the same products I have at home (Living proof, nothing too fancy) and even though the website encouraged that gratuity was included in the price, the gal still encouraged me to tip, which made me feel so awkward. I would without a doubt never come here again. Two stars because I did somewhat like my result, but it fell flat within hours.
Ive been to the NW location twice now and have been very happy both times. I always schedule first thing in the morning, and even when I arrive early, they get me in and started right away. Staff is friendly and helpful, and I always get compliments on my hair. Thank you!
If you want to be charged full salon price for mediocre blowout and leave with frizzy, missed chunk of hair without proper brushing and damp scalp, come here! The back of my hair is not even smooth, all they did is blast a HIGH heat to the point my hair cuticles didn’t seal and ended up puffy! The lady said “I can run a flat iron” NO! When I go for a proper blowout, I need a proper blowout, don’t add flat iron because this is what a mediocre would do. A professional blowout would be unfrizzy, shinny, closed cuticles and smooth with no need for flat iron. I rushed home to fix what the lady did, something you shouldn’t be doing after spending $47. I didn’t like how they all saw how unhappy I was with my hair, they don’t care about developing steady relationships with their clients. If they carried on with this practice, this business will be basically in and never again! Their stylists need a lot of training. Please go somewhere else, save yourself the hassle. I went to my party very upset about this horrible experience.
Hit or miss. Majority of the time, they are amazing and are able to fulfill exactly what youd like. The wash is worth the $40 for me because it feels...so....good. Worth it. Plus you feel like a princess after. #noshame
Went there for wedding hair and updos. None of the staff seemed particularly versed in either skill. Their regular clients looked great. But our party had called and scheduled in advance, and was assured they were up for the task. It was a bit of false advertising.
I was impressed by my experience at Blowout. My stylist was very friendly and did a wonderful job on both my hair and makeup. I felt she really listened to what I wanted and delivered. I will definitely return.
If youre in need of some much needed self care or your hair needs some TLC come to BLOWOUT!I am officially a customer for life.
Horrible customer service
At first, everything seemed fine. I came in, my hairstylist sat me down, then we went to shampoo my hair. There was a line! 8 hairstylists and only 2 shampoo stations?! But I had a glass of wine while I waited, so no big deal. Then we went back to my seat, where all my stuff was sitting and the things for my hair were already pulled out and ready to go, and there was another person sitting there! Apparently they overbooked themselves. So I got booted to some uncomfortable hard plastic chair in the corner at a makeshift station. It was awkward and incredibly uncomfortable. And to top off the horrible experience, my hair went flat and the curls fell out 5 minutes after leaving. I will NEVER go there again. That is no way to run a business.
Dont bother wasting your money. I came here last weekend for one of my sisters bachelorette party activities. There were 6 of us, 4 scheduled at 1 and 2 at 1:45, since they couldnt fit us all in at once. That is fine, but their time schedules were way off and the last of us ended up not even getting started until well past 2 and we all had to wait behind and she felt bad and rushed to catch up to us. That wasnt my biggest problem though.Their flyers and brochures say that their service is $40 for a wash, blowout and style... thats fine, I figured I would suck it up for the party. I told the girl I would like my hair curly, but that I was concerned because it is finicky with holding curl and asked if their hairspray would hold. She guaranteed that it would, and suggested that I skip the wash and blow-dry because dirty hair will hold curl better. Okay I thought... maybe I will save some $$ too. Great! Well... she spent 10 minutes or less... NO JOKE... curling my hair (worse than I can do myself)... and called it good. And then proceeded to charge me 47 DOLLARS. Are you kidding me? I didnt get half the service, but they charge the same whether you wash or not. If I had known that I would have done the works and said screw the girls do something else. I asked where the $7 came from and the mystery solved... they have a service charge they dont advertise to cover the stylists hourly wage. Seriously... that didnt even include tip. So I walked out $51 more broke... with curls that didnt even hold 10 minutes after I left. WASTE OF MONEY. My mom tried talking to the owner but she was rude and didnt show any remorse for the situation, the unadvertised services fees, or the fact that they were off schedule and threw off the rest of our party. I will make sure this review gets posted anywhere and everywhere because it is poor practice and I dont want anyone else to get scammed like we did. DONT BOTHER.
Wedding party. I was MOB. The stylist was clueless. I have short hair lots a wave/body. It didnt need much. I had to stop her. She was using a flat iron. I loudly stated it was worse than bed Head. She gave me to another stylist who sort of fixed it. I didnt have time to go back to the hotel and fix it or I would have. Huge regrets on choosing to pay for getting hair done.
This was my very 1st time at Blowout. I had an appointment at 1 PM at the Bridgeport Village location on Thursday 08/26/2015. With my appointment being at 1 PM I showed up at 12:45 PM checked in and sat down to wait for my appointment. I was offered something to drink which was nice but was not told if my stylist would see me right at 1 or if they were running behind. I sat there from 12:45 PM till 1:15 PM and at 1:15 was finally seen by my stylist. Waiting 30 min and was not told that my stylist was running behind really made me upset. My stylist did a GREAT job with styling my hair and everyone loved it. But the wait time was ridiculous.
Pearl Location. Ive always gotten nothing but the best treatment at this location. Go there as often as I can.
Stopped in this weekend and my blowout was less than 20 minutes....for $48 I’d expect a little more time to be pampered, especially bc the website says 45 minutes. Nice staff for sure, but not worth the money especially compared to other places.
I just payed for a blow out and didnt even get my hair blow dryed. My hair was slightly damp from taking a shower yesterday, and she just started styling my day old hair. I wouldve been okay with this if it was cheaper than a blowout, but they charged me the same price. This is the worst experience Ive ever had. I am 4 hours after my appointment writing this post and realizing I have flat, hair spray crisped, dry straight hair after she was supposed to give me a blow out and a curl. Would not recommend this salon.
I loved my Blowout this weekend. The store was very busy but I felt Fabulous when I left. They didnt have time to add makeup for me but I will definitely schedule Hair AND Makeup next time.
My go-to salon for shampoo, blowouts and special occasion styling. They use top quality products and the stylists are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Love, love, love this place
I loved my experience! it was my first time being in Portland,Oregon and had my hair done while I was there and Im sorry I forgot the girl who did my hair but I looked good so thanx again.FromChicago
The girl that did my hair, I think her name was Charice, was horrible. Low talking mumbler, so who knows what her name is...who actually told me she dropped out of cosmetology school because she wasnt learning anything, and THEY were making money off of her. Bad customer service, didnt explain the up charge on products and then couldnt print a sale receipt. NOT tipping was NOT an option. Bad blow out and not even close to getting curls. Nope, not gonna happen again.
I went here tonight and within 2 minutes my curls were gone. My hair looked the same when I walked in as when I walked out.I would recommend going somewhere else.Note this is not my first time getting a blow out-- I get one weekly from other salons and they last for a full week. This one didnt even last 10 minutes.
Overpriced services! PLUS they charge you a $39.95 service fee with out telling you on top of the original service, walked out paying $175 for a hair cut and highlights. With half my highlights cut out of the back of my hair!!!
Made an appointment online and left work early so I could get there on time. Stopped in right before 5 p.m. and was told my appointment was at 5:30, so I left and came back at 5:25. Stylist then told me she was way behind and it would be at least 1/2 an hour before she could even start on my hair. I had dinner reservations with friends, so I declined. I am supremely irritated for two reasons - one, why didnt someone tell me at 5 p.m. that they couldnt honor my 5:30 p.m. appointment? and two, instead of looking fabulous at dinner, I was frumpy and furious. Of course, when you book an appointment you agree to let them charge you 50% if you dont show. But all the stylist offered me was a shrug and a weak Im sorry.
Sadly most of the stylist here are not trained. They have no intentions of creating client relationships, in & of you go! The shampoo bowls are uncomfortable and they are way over priced!! Oh! You rather use Kevin Murphy and not our product line.. let me charge you $10 on top of the $50
Took great care of me and my hair
I have been here several times and always loved my hair after.
I traveled to portland for a wedding. My daughter who is 10 was in the wedding. I dropped her off with the bridal party and didnt see her until about a hour before the ceremony. I had to repin up her hair parts were falling. Not only did i had to fix her hair i had to fix the brides hair one other bridesmaids hair because it was falling and redid the mother of the hair....all the girls had lots of fly aways. Not impressed at all. If i ever traveled to port land again i wouldnt go to blow out
I had a wonderful experience at Blowout before my Bacchelorette. We went to the bar around 5pm. and it was really busy!!! But they had us sit on the pink banquette and we drank champagne and ate the snacks we brought while they finished the clients they were working on. It was fun to watch the hair and makeup that was being done...it helped me decide what I wanted done.I chose the Bombshell and then had them do Divalicious curls in a beachy wave style. It was a Fabulous experience. My makeup and lashes looked great as well!
Low quality service for the local salon price. This new business has a lot of growing up to do.
They did a great job with hair and makeup for my daughter for prom.
I cant really describe how disappointed I was. There was no heat protecting products used on my hair. The stylist did not curl my ends or do anything to my hair other than blow it dry. It looked like it always does when I get out of the shower and blow it dry myself. Save your money!!!
Curious about the new Blowout Bar trend...I looked to see if we had one of these in our City.I was excited to find Blowout, A Blow Dry Bar.I was going out with friends and decided book appointments.I booked online...super easy.We arrived on time and had to wait 15 minutes....no big deal it gave me time to check the place out and read a mag....and they offered us a glass of wine. They took us and showed us the menu and there were several styles to choose..cant remember how many but it was on their site. They washed our hair added product...smelled good. She started drying the hair without a roundbrush and I began to get nervous....I asked if she would roundbrush it and she kindly told me that she was just getting the moisture out and she would certainly be using the roundbrush for my blowout. When she started roundbrushing she carefully pinned each section so it was in a curl...hard to explain. but when she was done I looked like I had an old fashioned rollers in my hair. Then she took out the pins....it was amazing. My hair dropped to beautiful sexy hair. It actually held the curl. She then styled it and curled a few pieces that needed some help. I had red carpet fullness and wave. I felt awesome. It took about 30 minutes(I have medium length hair) and cost $32.00. I thought it was worth it.Some people were getting makeup..I think I will try that next time.I highly recommend Blowout
They like to change there price once your in the chair.
They do OK with the hair. But you can schedule with somebody and they will put you with somebody else that’s happened to me multiple times. Prices are not consistent
Fun environment, friendly staff
Great blowout here
