I came here looking for a chess board but found SO much more!! What a unique game! Great selection of parts and custom pieces to choose from including a paint area with different colors you can add to your game! The owner was super chill and gave me several referrals for a place to get chess - but they are worth checking out if you want to try a whole new board game

My son and I like to swing by the Games Workshop from time to time. TJ (aka The Store Guy) is always welcoming and answers any questions my son has about the game or the figurines. His knowledge and passion for the game is evident in everything he does.

Likely the best place to find harder to find GW product. TJ runs a great store and is ready to help with whatever you need!

Just got back into Warhammer 40K and I have been collecting and learning about the Orks. First time here was a few weeks ago and TJ was awesome, we joked and talked about Ork lore and he taught me a lot about my new favorite faction, recommended some books and stuff to deepen my knowledge of them. This store is very welcoming thanks to him and I visited again yesterday to check on Ork stock and buy some more boyz, he took the time to go over some of his painting techniques and even opened up the glass case so I could hold and look closer at a bloody figure that he had been talking to me about. Even though their Ork stock is always cleaned out I love coming here. Worth the drive, especially if you take the time to listen and get into a fun nerdy conversation with TJ or the other people there.

One of the best games workshop store Ive ever been to well worth the two hour trip! The man running the store was super helpful and was a blast to talk to. Will 100% be going back there in the future!

Walked in with a question about the hobby. Frankly, not into Warhammer at all (so naturally I go to a store where thats basically all they sell). Anyway, TJ gave me great advice for what I wanted to do. The advice worked so he clearly knows his stuff! Plus, he gave my 2 year old son a sticker, which was just awesome. Definitely coming back!

Made my first trip to a GW store today. Ive been in the miniature painting game about a year and today i made my first trip into a store after only ordering online. And i was NOT disappointed! Let me say this.....TJ is amazing! My husband and I were down in Raleigh on a whim (visiting family in Roxboro) an hour and about $400 dollars later left happy and very enthused about the game I was just getting into and he was returning to. TJ allowed us to peruse the shelves and even gave my 10 year old daughter some tips and tricks on painting her bases. Looking forward to going back whenever were down in Raleigh!!

This place is amazing if you are into the Warhammer franchise. They offer a large variety of products for such a small space. There are gaming tables at your disposal for matches with friends as well as tournaments throughout the year. If you are not a seasoned painter of miniatures they will give you lessons, you only need make an appointment. My 12 year old son recently interested and the owner was very patient with him, showing him painting techniques as well as explaining story lines and the history of his characters.

Super helpful store owner. The customers were also quite willing to offer advice on getting into mini painting wargaming etc. Definitely a store Ill be returning to often. And, if you are painting or building Warhammer, they offer free classes.

Walked in the store looking for a new set of dice. My friends and I are starting a new D&D campaign and I cant seem to find my dice from a few years back. Anyway, I go in and there is a few table games going on and I start to look around for the dice. Cant seem to find them and I dont think they have any.I say I dont think they have any because in the whole 5 min I was walking around the relatively small store no one asked if I needed help. I dont even know if any one who works there, was there.Anyway, I wont be going back to this store. I feel they should change the name to Warhammer Workshop because thats all they seem to have there, at least thats all I could tell.

I went in completely ignorant about 40k tabletop. The manager (T.J) helped me get exactly what I needed, and even gave an impromptu painting class. He really knew the product and was extremely passionate. The store had an inviting feel and other customers were glad to give pointers and suggestions.

This is the first Games Workshop I have been to. TJ and his customers are great and were very welcoming to me. I have never played before and am new to the hobby. I explained which game and which faction I was interested in, the army I was looking for, and asked for tips on how to get started. TJ set me up proper with excellent products. He has even been kind enough to show me the ropes with the building and painting of models. If you are a veteran player or new to the hobby, Id suggest you come by and take a look for yourself.

Last week I just got into the warhmmer universe starting with the books, but then I discovered these board, tabletop strategy games! My luck would have it there is a games work shop not 15 min from my home. As soon as I came in it was nothing but a friendly atmosphere. The guy I talked to helped me out and gave me tips on starting my game of shadespire. Love this place definitely going back to learn how to paint!!!

Jarhed provided an excellent introduction to Warhammer! We even got to paint a space-marine guy. It was a super special experience to get an amazing free art lesson and learn more about the local scene.

Im just getting back into tabletop gaming and am new to the area. I popped in to check it out, grab a paint (and browse (which is always dangerous, as the Start Collecting: Tau Army that came home with me proves)) and ended up having a wonderful conversation with the owner. You can immediately tell he has passion for the hobby and an amazing knowledge base for painting and the GW games. Im looking forward to many trips back.

The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. TJ seem to always go out of his way to be engaging and making you feel welcome even when you don’t know much of anything about the hobby. My wife also stopped by and had nothing but nice things to say about the staff and the care she received. Apart from the staff, I was also rather pleased at the customer service from their HQ when I did have an issue with an order that could not be addressed by TJ at the store.

Knowledgeable staff make this my go to spot for Warhammer whenever Im in the area. Fun to talk with them about lore and more practical aspects of the game.

And contrary of what was said in one review, our experience was different as there was absolutely no pressure to buy. TJ is an incredibly great guy. I am very new to the game, but he took THREE hours with me to explain how to play, different formats and even into Age of Sigmar. This meant pulling beautiful models he had painted on to a table, rolling dice and opening no less than five books to show me things he was talking about.I had fully planned on going to three other hobby stores after visiting this store but was fully satisfied after my time in his store that i just went on home.Easily, one of the best hobby stores around.

TJ is friendly, knowledgeable, and EXTREMELY enthusiastic about Warhammer but the one thing he isnt is pushy. Hell answer any number of questions you have but will neither push you towards something youre not interested in nor towards specific armies. Thats a nice change from the stores I remember 20+ years ago.The atmosphere in the store is friendly as well. Players and patrons are often willing to offer painting, building, and playing advice. You wont find many ultracompetitive jerks at this store, mostly just people looking to have a good time.

A friend and I were thinking about getting into Warhammer and are complete noobs to the entire scene .TJ gave us the complete rundown on everything. Showed us how to play, showed us how to paint, everything. Some of the other customers joined in and gave us advice too. It was a great experience, I cant wait to go back!

This store is run by TJ who makes the whole experience excellent. A great place for a game of AoS or 40k, as well as picking up any model needs. If you are new to the hobby or want to check it out they do demos for the hobby and game portions. A huge recommendation for anyone who thinks they would like wargames or models.

Store manager puts his personal sales numbers ahead of the customer, and youre paying full price for it! You can buy Games Workshop stuff at 10-20% off at the local independent gaming and hobby stores and get better service, better selection, and better in-store gaming space at the same time.

TJ is amazing, he does an amazing job explaining getting into the games and expanding your collections. If you need advise on either building or painting your army, his paint and build classes are easy to understand and free to take. No matter your level of experience. By its very nature, the store has the most Games Workshop product in the triangle, so if youre looking for 40k or AoS stuff, this is the place to go. It also has a substantial offering of Black Library books, and most of the specialty games like Shadespire, Necromunda, and Warhammer Quest.Store owner is very friendly, welcoming to newcomers, and a trove of knowledge of all things Games Workshop. From gameplay advice, to modeling/conversion work, to painting, and everything in between, hell gladly engage you on anything Games Workshop that you want to talk about, and most importantly, Ive never gotten a pushy sales vibe from him, which I definitely appreciate.All this keeps me coming back time and time again!

Very awesome store, The manager TJ is very nice and community oriented, hes always around to talk and help whenever he can, He knows the games and how to play them and has saved me money just about every time I have stopped by. Whether youre just stopping in for a paint pot or a whole army TJ is always there to greet you with a smile and a handshake. The only problem is leaving, Its very easy to accidentally spend the whole day just chatting. I do not order from the GW site anymore, the 40 minute drive is well worth it if i can keep this awesome shop in business.

This shop is a great shop for someone who is starting out or a veteran. The current manager, TJ, is more than willing to work with people on most issues they might have with their models when just starting out and to ensure that people can get individualized attention for any thing further that crops up.Add to that a fairly active bunch of players for Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40k and the overall friendly atmosphere of the shop, and this is my go-to for gaming in Raleigh.

TJ has done a nice job of creating a community within the retail environment and all of the events amd opportunities at the store really make the investment into Games Workshop products worth it. That being said, there can be a little too much pressure to buy sometimes.
