Purchased this 500.00 GE microwave in 2019 because it was 200.00 cheaper than online. We are remodeling a home and have kept it safe in our garage with the matching double oven we also purchased at Goldstar. This week we finally opened the box and the entire longitudinal axis of the microwave is destroyed. It looks like somewhere along the way someone destroyed it w by stacking a bunch of other things on it or was destroyed by a forklift. Gold star wasn’t willing to help with any sort of exchange or refund the delivery charge of 150.00 so that we can purchase the microwave which is now 700.00 at a big box retail store. The manager even accused us of damaging it ourselves. I would highly recommend just purchasing GE appliances from a reputable/known place so that in the long run you save yourself the possibility of a headache down the road. If you do purchase from here, you need to open your boxes. Shame on us for assuming that something in a box would be in good condition.
They honestly have so much business youll have to chase them down to check on your order and give them your money. After 3 months, I finally just asked for a refund and they werent bothered a bit. They must be doing something right to be so busy. Before anyone replies to this and blames Covid and the supply chain...your phone and email should be working fine.
Ive purchase several appliances from Gold Star. Very trustworthy and honest business.
We purchased a vent hood from Goldstar they had no stock so we waited about 6 weeks for our order. We love the hood but never used it because the granite mounted on the wall upside down was blocked by the hood design so we needed another style hood. I spoke to the manager who told me that all hoods are considered SPECIAL ORDER AND ARE NOT EVER RETURNABLE !An important fact they conveniently FAILED TO MENTION. $ 700.00 down the drain . But I’m sure Goldstar is very happy with their self serving secrets .Beware my friends !
After 27 years, my wife and I were finally able to do a home makeover. As far as appliances go, we canvassed a lot of the major retailers and compared brands and prices. We were overwhelmed with all the selections and options available. After exhausting our time reviewing online and name brand stores, we ended up visiting Gold Star Distributors in Richardson. This should have been our first stop. RJ Marquardt first asked us what our needs were. He introduced us to several brands and models describing each product’s uniqueness and offerings. He provided information about the brands, their history, performance, customer reviews and reliability. RJ was very patient and allowed us to narrow our choices and make the best selection according to our needs. We decided on Thermador appliances (refrigerator/freezer, speed oven, range, dishwasher and beverage center). After our decision he made the warranty, delivery and installation process a breeze. We now have our dream kitchen and look forward to many years of joy preparing meals and entertaining guests. I have no reservations in recommending Gold Star and their service representative RJ Marquardt. (Pardon the fingerprint marks on the appliances in the photos)
Go see RJ! Ive purchased numerous appliances from RJ at Goldstar Appliance and have been super happy! RJ is knowledgeable, very friendly and works hard to get you exactly what you need.
In the market for a pro style range, and our designer strongly recommended we visit Gold Star. Customer service was outstanding. The sales person we visited with, Raul, was extremely knowledgable about the different brands and helpful in helping us pinpoint which range would be best for our style of cooking and entertaining. These high end appliances are not one size fits all...each have unique strengths in different areas, and it is very helpful to understand which ones offer the best features for how you will actually use them. The showroom has many models on the floor to actually see. We did not feel rushed or pressured toward any particular decision. In addition to the features offered by each brand, Raul had helpful advice about service, warranties, and maintenance; all of which are significant considerations with these appliances. Their pricing was also extremely competitive, and considerably lower than a huge furniture outlet further north, which was quite surprising and very pleasing. Highly recommend stopping in to visit with Gold Star when making the rounds on any appliance purchase.
Knowledgeable staffFriendly & infornable
Rude over price appllances
We looked for a company that had Monogram ovens and cooktops on display, and lucked into finding Gold Star. Raul Ortiz helped us, and was fantastic. Unlike Nebraska Furniture Mart, Goldstar had a working display of the stove top, and Raul gave us a full demonstration. We ended up buying all of our appliances for our home build through Raul. He gave us a deal that couldnt be beat elsewhere, and even came in on Sunday (the store is normally closed), to pick up the check! If youre like us, and you get frustrated by the poor service at large box stores, please give these guys a shot, and ask for Raul.
I bought and paid for a Kitchen-aid Double oven last September and was told it would be available in October. Every month the date was extended by 3 weeks until finally they said February 5. I finally cancelled the order and shopped elsewhere. Julia was our salesperson and she would never even call to let us know of delays. I had to call her myself and wait on hold only to be told the delivery date had to be extended.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Above and beyond my expectations with their service, great location and great follow up. The best prices and personal service. The install was explained to me in terms i understood and much less expensive than other places They were in and out quickly, professional, efficient and cleaned their mess. I understand the way some people felt about the showroom because they have a lot going on in there with the smaller showroom and the lights everywhere makes it look pretty busy- but they are renovating and I love it so far! Very excited to see the changes coming-but with the same great service Ive come to expect and love.
My parents were in need of a new refrigerator when theirs died during the Covid-19 shelter-in-place guidelines. We found a GE one we liked, but we made the mistake of ordering it online from one of the big box stores. My family waited a week for delivery and -- heres the kicker -- the installer showed up ready to (1) remove the old refrigerator and (2) hook up the water/ice maker...but he didnt have the refrigerator! Confused, the installer called his own big box people, who were super rude to the him, and call-center lady simply said that the refrigerator delivery was rescheduled (i.e., it was cancelled with no notice to my parents or to the installer). The absolute earliest we could get a refrigerator was six weeks out.Gold Star to the rescue! They helped my parents with an oven installation several years ago, and we should have gone to them first. Julia on the phone was kind and helpful. She found us a refrigerator that was almost the exact same my parents wanted, making sure the dimensions and details were accurate. Even better, we got it delivered the next day!The two installers complied with all CDC guidelines, removed the 25-year-old refrigerator, and installed the new one. The whole process took less than an hour.My family continues to be impressed with the quality and commitment of Gold Star Distributors. We will be using them again, and we recommend this local business without reservation.
Lots of top line appliances, staff was very helpful but no all stock is available for quick delivery.
This place has anything and everything for your kitchen remodeling needs. I saw a 60 range and full double oven combo set that cost as much as my first home in the early 70s! They are very knowledgeable and helpful.I was introduced to an under the cabinet drawer microwave with tilt out controls that close for a clean look. Very impressive!Years ago, I bought a freezer for my daughters dorm room here.
Umm - for a lighting store it was very dark inside. The guys that were there well - there isn’t anything nice to say so I won’t. 🤦🏻♀️ It was kinda creepy, I didn’t feel comfortable walking through the store for fear of being followed into a dark corner, so I’d didn’t actually see the whole store. I was relieved to leave. So thankful my husband was with me!Prices are decent (for the items that are tagged) but don’t expect them to know what the prices are or help if you shop on the weekends. Apparently the week crew knows what the heck they are doing. Also, if you leave your name and number - not that it would make a difference because they did not seem too happy to be there themselves - don’t expect them to actually use your name. 😑Oh - if you like drama - hang around a while and you can listen to their personal phone conversations - which unfortunately is on company time! 🤦🏻♀️I am not sure how they stay in business. Truly disappointed. I will not/could not recommend this store to anyone.
Goldstar is one of the better appliance selection places in DFW. In addition, their staff is knowledgeable and professional. RJ is a pleasure to work with.
Jesus and another gentlemen installed my refrigerator last month and did an excellent job. These two were amazing, No mess was left behind or marks on any of my walls. Gold Star also offered me the best deal I could find fro my GE. The lady was very helpful with my original quote and Hayden placed my order and answered my final questions.
I went to this store. The salesman showed me a dishwasher with the price clearly marked in the unit with a bright yellow sticker. I agreed to purchase the unit. He went to the back to see when it would be delivered. He returned and said it was out of stock and a new one would now be $100.00 more. Clearly this was a bait & switch scheme.
Gold Star sold us a lemon GE fridge years ago and refused to do anything about it. Ill never shop here again.
I mistakenly tagged Gold Star in my first review for another retailer, here is the true review for Gold Star.Very disappointed. 6 years ago we purchased our wall oven from here and it was a great experience. So, when we in need of a dishwasher we believed it would be the place to go.Unfortunately the customer service was less than stellar - over the phone the salesperson didnt have the answers to our questions. Put us on hold to get the answers from someone or somewhere, didnt collect all the info, so kept putting us on hold to get the answer to EACH question. We thought this person was probably new to the job; turns out they have been with the company 6 years. They didnt have what we wanted in-stock and were then offered to look at floor models; they didnt have a satisfactory product for us, so we went elsewhere for our purchase.
@Anne Marie Poteet, not sure what store you went into, but today I picked up a microwave Id ordered and browsed while they got it ready. I found that it is quite brightly lit, as one would expect in a store that has tons of lighted lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling and numerous windows...Anyway, my experience was great: they were very polite and loaded up the microwave in my car for me, and the price was outstanding. The store has a great selection of appliances, light fixtures (indoor and out), fridges, ranges, built in outdoor grilles, the works. Had a good range of stuff, the usual brands and the premium brands as well too (Sub-Z/Wolf, Viking, Bosch, Miele, Monogram, etc.), and *lots* of displays with the appliances mounted up so you can actually see how theyll look once installed, a big plus. If youre in the market for any of this stuff, I highly recommend this place.
A surprising place to find chandeliers different from the big box stores. A wide selection. They made a deal since I bought two. Staff friendly and helpful.
We were looking for a 30 gas cooktop and the prices for them are not displayed on Gold Star website. It shows Call the store for best price. When we call the store, we had to wait back and forth and then get a price of $1150 from Mr Raul when the same model is available on the internet for $365 (discounted price) and $595 (regular price). Not sure what kind of game is being played here.
One of the few places if not only place to get 30 watt equipment. The newer appliances take 40w now so its very important for older houses. Reminder that the bill for installation is C.O.D. so you will have to pay that separately.
I do not normally post reviews, however, I am so happy I found this place. I love supporting local businesses, and this one has been around forever. I worked with Jim and bought an entire Kitchen Aid package from him. Im all about Kitchen Aid, always have been. I seriously could not be happier with the service and simplicity of it. I walked in, talked to Jim, he knew what I needed, and after I picked everything even came to my house to take measurements to be sure since I wasnt positive. Really really great service.
Extremely knowledgeable salesmen, knew how to find a refrigerator that fit our small space. Delivery guys called us before arrival, and showed up on time. Got everything up and working, I couldnt be happier. These folks are the best!
My husband and I went because we are remodeling our kitchen and they have a fridge that matches our cabinets. No one greated us. They were busy. So we walked around. As other couples came in workers kept telling them we will be with you shortly. Look around. We stayed about 15 mins with no acknowledgement. Decided to purchase someone else.
Bought a new fridge here. The one we originally ordered got to our house (the next day!) and didnt fit in the space very well. I mean, wed measured and it did technically fit, but it would have been practically difficult to use.So we called Jeff at Gold Star and told him wed need to order a different one; we wanted the same model, but counter-depth instead of standard-depth. He looked it up, called us back, and told us it would be available for two weeks. That was disappointing, because we didnt have a fridge at all at the time and we didnt want to eat non perishables or take out for two more weeks. So we told him wed be flexible on the model. He looked it up, called us back, and said hed sell the floor model. The only thing as it had a small ding in the door, so hed have a new door put on. We didnt ask him to do it, and he didnt charge us for it. Fridge was delivered two days later. The prices sometimes look higher than what youd pay at Home Depot or Lowes, but the convenience, service, and reliability is well worth the extra cost. Also, if you get a warranty on any of your appliances from them, Im willing to bet it is cheaper than anything Lowes or Home Depot would offer.
This week I went in to buy a new washer and had a decent enough buying experience. I paid and scheduled delivery/install for a few days later 9am-12pm. I made sure to explicitly instruct the salesman that the machine needed to go into an upper apartment of a house, and I was told that the delivery people would call me 30min before arrival. I got a phone call after leaving the store with the rep saying that they forgot to charge me for delivery. I figured it was just a small hiccup, so I returned and paid the delivery fee. No problems.I took half a day off of work on the scheduled delivery/install day so I could be home at the time of delivery. All three hours roll past, with no phone call and no delivery made. I call the sales rep on my way to work, and apparently there was some miscommunication between him and the delivery people, and that the washing machine would be delivered that afternoon. Again, I was told Id receive a call 30min before delivery. Luckily, my roommate would be home in time for delivery and install.A few hours later, I get a text from my roommate asking if I knew only one delivery person would show up. Apparently not only did Gold Star fail to communicate the correct scheduled delivery time, but they failed to call me 30min before delivery, and also apparently ignored my explicit warning that the delivery needed to be made to an upstairs location. So in the end, I paid a $40 delivery fee to have my roommate do half of the delivery and instillation work.I decided to buy from Gold Star due to their generally positive reviews and a desire to support a local business. Ill admit, this was a mistake. I lost out on half a days pay due to the delivery miscommunication, and paid a delivery/installation fee only to find out my roommate had to do half the delivery/installation work himself.I wish my experience with Gold Star had gone better, but due to poor service and logistical ineptitude, I will not shop here again - nor can I in good conscience recommend this place to anyone else. Youll be better off with a place like Home Depot, Lowes, or Best Buy.
Very helpful. Great selection. Jerry did a great job.
Poorest customer service ever and I’ve purchased my appliances there for 20+ years!
High end lighting fixtures that arent your run of the mill Lowes/Home Depot stock, one stop shop! Be prepared for sticker shock though...
Super service and people. Great onestop shop for all your home appliances needs.
Great service good GE products
They have the best customer service and their prices are lower than other places
This is for hector the delivery guy, you dinged my washer and the entrance corner. You delivered last week! I will report this!
BUYER BEWARE! Gold Star subcontracts their delivery and installation, We purchased kitchen appliances from Gold Star, and were quoted a price for delivery and installation. When the installer arrived, he wanted to charge us $120 more to install a stand alone oven. Gold Star eventually sent another installer out with the appliances, and finally did the installation for the price quoted, but we believe the first installer dinged our refrigerator because he didnt place the cardboard packing around the edges when reloading it into his trailer.. We reported the damage to a manager by the name of Todd, and all he would say was,Thanks for letting us know. No offer to repair our dinged refrigerator. Customer service is very poor after the sale. I will never buy from this business again.
Seriously!!! You have to call to get a price. I havent been able to get through for hours. It rings and rings then hangs up on you. ANGRY
UPDATED 5/1/17: Eldridge and Kevin at Goldstar did it again :-) This time I contacted Eldridge for a replacement electric cooktop for my parents who were preparing to sell their home, so it needed to be nice, but not too expensive - and it needed to fit the existing cutout. Eldridge and his installer Kevin Smith once again exceeded my expectations. My parents cooktop was perfect and reasonably priced. Thank you Eldridge and Kevin on your continued excellent service!7/2016: Several years ago we did a remodel and found Goldstar to be the best combination of value and customer service for our appliances and lighting. Last year when it was time to replace our washer and dryer we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set from them. During the installation there was a scratch on one of them. The Manager at the time was helpful but it didnt get completely resolved because I think that he left there during the process. When I followed up with it again sometime later, Eldridge stepped in and took care of us to our complete satisfaction. This is a wonderful place to do business with and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for great value and customer service when buying appliances or lighting. Thanks Eldridge!
Great service, knew their merchandise and very polite......
Great service and high end products.
Best place to buy appliances best prices, installation, etc.
Unique selections
I dont think they understand about refrigerator rollers or wheels. I asked them to fix it but they did not. I cannot move my refrigerator.
Great customer service!!
The people there are simply amazing
👍 great service.
Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They are conveniently located.
Great customer service!!!
I paid over $3000.00 for a new refrigerator with extended warranty from Goldstar in September, 2015. In December, 2015, I received a used floor model with no extended warranty, not even a manufacturer warranty.
The best in DFW!
Very friendly and went all the way to help us pick our Range top. Thanks Gerry.
This place lost my business by closing early.
Julia really knows her suff
Great!!!!
