Do NOT waste your valuable time here. This place does not deserve even 1 star. Staff is extremely rude and everything is done in a rush. From someone who works in the medical field, please trust that if staff is rushing, then quality work disappears. Poor front desk service. I have come across some horribly rude staff, but this here is by far one of the worst. Go anywhere else.
Hands down. Lakeshore is the place to go. Dr. Scapini is extremely timely and thorough. Wouldn’t take myself or kids anywhere else.My 13 year old daughter was having nose bleeds and had seen him years prior. She specifically asked for him again!!!
Excellent experience. They use technology efficiently to simplify your check-in and improve the overall experience. Not many places get it right, but this was well thought out and executed. The atmosphere is friendly and casual, and scheduling is effectively used to minimize waiting room traffic. Very good care also when being seen. Would recommend.
Dr. Handzo helped me more than any of the ENT specialists Ive consulted over the past 25 years. His skillful use of balloon sinusplasty has given me relief from the endless series of recurring sinus and throat infections. He was honest, informative, listened to me, and achieved an outstanding result.
The front office was nice and efficient. My husband was a new patient and saw Dr.Handzo. He talked more than listened. Was really rushed and didnt seem to want to listen to my husbands concerns or issues. Was standing in open door trying to leave and we were trying to ask questions. He did ok with the scope procedure but wish wore gloves. The NP Kristina? was quick and seemed to not really care to be there. No bedside manner. Just felt it was a 5 minute visit with a $300 charge and not comprehensive at all. Need to take more time and concern with patients. Also, if a drug rep comes in and wants to see the Dr. that your new patient is waiting for, make her wait. Your patient should be the priority. Will not recommend them.
Was referred to Lakeshore ENT by my primary care physician due to an on going problem with nose bleeds. The front desk staff was helpful & kind. I saw Dr. Roake & never again. I obviously didn’t go to a specialist for no reason, but the way he analyzed my situation, to him it was pointless for me to get checked out. Told him my problems & his attitude was just very rude, kept asking, “so why are you here?” “Sorry I can’t help you with your problem”. The WORST attitude I’ve ever experienced out of a doctor. When the visit was over, he left the room so quick I didn’t even get a chance to get up off of my seat. He couldn’t kindly direct to me to check out, had to go looking around for it.I’m giving this 2 stars due to the office being clean, polite & courteous. But I’d give Dr. Roake a 1 star rating. Very disappointed.
My husband had an appointment and had a great experience. Dr. Scapini was knowledgeable and very nice. Zero wait time.
Friendly and helpful front desk. I was advised to download and complete the health history forms at home, eliminating time in the waiting room. Dr. Rourke saw me after short wait and was helpful. I would return if it became necessary.
Not following covid19 precautions at all. Had to take son to different doctor for care as not interested in finding out sort of infection.
Go see Dr. Rourke!!! He is amazing. I have been having problems with my tonsils for some time so he recommended a tonsillectomy. So happy to finally be rid of my tonsils and on the mend. He made me feel comfortable and took extra good care of me. Even after the surgery when I had a question he was in another procedure and the nurse said he would call me back soon and he did and answered all my questions making me feel relieved. Also before I knew I was having the surgery a while back I had my tragus and conch piercings done but I hadn’t touched them since they were done because cartilage takes so long to heal. I was nervous to remove them so Dr. Rourke took them out and put them back in for me during surgery and made sure they didn’t close back up. He definitely didn’t have to do that. Go see him! He is kind and caring and has a great sense of humor. Thank you for taking out my tiny tonsils and taking the extra time to mess with my piercings.
I went to see Dr. Handzo at the recommendation of my mother. She and I had two completely different experiences. He introduced himself, but didnt bother to address me by my name or make eye contact. When he did look at me directly, he had the worst look in his eyes (we were all masked there). He asked me what brought me in and he didnt even allow me to complete a sentence before he started to talk over me. He didnt really listen to any of my concerns and suggested that if my problem doesnt improve that I should come back for a script. Ha! Fat chance. I am never stepping foot in that office again. If personable, knowledgeable doctors who listen to their patient concerns is important to you, continue your search for an ENT. Handzo comes across as a complete idiot and very rude.
Great staff! Awesome Dr!
Staff was nice and polite. Doctor was on time for examination, asked me a lot of questions for ear drum cannel issue. Doctor was informative with his analysis.
The worst doctor ever .. I will shorten the words. It was a long nose shape, but without the presence of a bone, the operation was done for me, Doctor Jordan. Now the shape of the nose has become very wide as if there is a mouse sitting on my face. Now I have to go to another doctor to fix what the first doctor has ruined .. worse Absolutely doctor
Very good experience - Dr Handzo is very skilled at what he does and has a great people personality.
The best.
I have never written a bad review before but this place had so many issues. I told them to send the prescription to the CVS on Livernois and they sent it to the one on Walton. I even wrote on the form that they make you fill out in the beginning that I want it at the Livernois CVS and then she continued to ask me which one I wanted it again. The old lady at the front desk was extremely rude and the girl Christina checking out my ear was so rough and disregarding of the pain she caused my ear even when I told her two times that she was being too aggressive. Very unprofessional and careless.
I was referred to Lakeshore ENT Rochester by my primary care physician due to an issue I was having with one ear. (Whooshing sound that is continually getting louder and having issues hearing on that side). I went into the office looking for answers to something I assumed would be related to fluid on the ear.The NP that saw me (Kristina Gojcaj) rushed through the paperwork I filled out, rushed through a check of my ears, asked me very little questions, and ordered hearing tests. Upon completion of the tests, the same NP started rambling about my test results showing some dramatic hearing loss in low frequencies (ASHL), how steroids might help but probably not, and how I should get an MRI to check for a tumor. I had to ask her twice to slow down and explain what she was talking about (and Im a well educated smart person) because she was rushing to get out of the room. I still left feeling like I had no idea what was going on as she hurried out and told me to go to the checkout. She told me that they would prescribe me steroids that likely wouldnt work, and call me after they had my MRI results. I was completely freaked out, devastated and overwhelmed. What just happened? Am I losing my hearing? Do I have a tumor? Normally Im comfortable asking questions and staying in an office discussing results in an educated manner but I just wanted to get out of there.Immediately I made another appointment at another office because I wanted to understand why I had been diagnosed with ASHL and wanted to find someone I felt more comfortable talking to. After my $600 out of pocked MRI (which was normal thankfully), the office called me and said they reviewed my results, the MRI was normal, and I should come back in ONE YEAR for another hearing check. I literally laughed and said, what? Thats it? To which the woman on the phone replied yes one year come back.I cannot believe an office that is considered a SPECIALTY health care provider had so little care and concern for a patient experiencing this that they would 1) not even ask how the steroid treatment went, 2) if i had noted any improvement or worsening in general and 3) to discuss next steps and what it all means. If it werent for the office staff being friendly I would give zero stars. Dont go here unless you want to feel like you are just a number.
Staff was kind and polite. I felt listened to as a patient. Thank you!
Ive been going to Lakeshore Ear Noise, for about 15 years and Dr. Scapini has been my doctor whom is great and very thorough on his treatment.
I had a hearing test and was seen by the doctor chronic sinusitis. From the receptionist on everyone was kind and helpful. The doctor explained the protocol and what the next steps would be. I would recommend Lakeshore ear nose and throat.
Dr. Handzo is great and very informative! He gives you all the info and definitely helps you not be nervous about procedures. Although, the waiting times are a little ridiculous considering my appointment was at 9am only a half an hour after they opened and he wasnt in the room until after 9:30am. There was a woman (assistant of some kind?) who was constantly swearing and being very loud while I waited in my room which was right across from where they were sitting at their computers. It was very unprofessional.
I had an appointment for my kid and this was going to be our first time. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and it is in a convenient location for us too. The doctor was very nice and explained everything of concern and either way too. I will highly recommend this place for anyone who has concerns for their kids nose ear and throat. Thank you again.
Love an office that doesnt keep you waiting. The staff is really friendly and can answer any questions. They know how to run a doctors office. I was in a room and seen my my doctor in a timely fashion. This is a great solution to you ear, nose and throat needs.
I would give 0 stars if I could. I saw Dr.Handzo and this was the first time I had ever met him. He was the rudest man and doctor I have EVER met. When I asked if removing tonsils changed your voice, he literally said “why? are you a professional singer?” Who talks to their patients like that?! Any other question I asked he acted as if I was bothering him or taking up too much of his time when he had been in the room with me for not even 5 minutes. Every other question was answered with “no”, giving me no explanation or reassurance to my concerns. Then he hurried me out of the room. As soon as I walked out of my room they immediately brought another patient into the room I had just been in. Without cleaning it. This place is terrible.
I, as well as my family and friends, feel very lucky to have found Dr. Arden. I was referred to him when I found out that I had papillary carcinoma in a thyroglossal duct cyst that had spread. Although cancer in this cyst is rare, Dr. Arden took the necessary time and effort to figure out the best plan of action to treat me. He and everyone involved were very careful to make sure they were making the right decisions. I had surgery just over a week ago with him and everyone is amazed at how good my neck and incision look already. My very scary experience with cancer has been much easier because of Dr. Arden and his staff.
Had my tonsillectomy done by Dr Scapini, he warned me about the pain and gave me all the proper information to deal with recovery. Overall considering what was done, I was incredibly happy with the procedure and feel my recovery went so smoothly because of how well the procedure went.Thank you again for the amazing improvement in my day to day life.
First visit to this office, I went to the bathroom came back attempted to sit down and my name was called. Awesome! Was put in an exam room, the residents came in less than 5 minutes. Then went for the doctor ( Dr. Scapini) and he came in 5 minutes later. The best doctors appointment Ive had in a very long time at least 10 years. I look forward to going back in the future.💁
Simply the very best E.N.T. practice around. The staff here is top notch and the doctors are the very best.
Very caring and professional staff. Place was clean and I was seen quickly after arriving. Nice facility, would recommend to anyone in the area and beyond.
Another Dr who was just trying to make more money it seemed. First the medical assistant came and was nice then he went outside to discuss with the big Dr and guess what I heard their whole conversation about me which I thought was rude and the Dr was arrogant. Then my simple diagnosis becamea surgery with general anesthesia !!!!! No thank you!! It was a small thing on my ear that would have been easily done if I went to a dermatologist first. Anyway I will not go to this place again!!!!
I had rhinoplasty twice by the same dr and he did the worst job. I went to dr Arden for a consultation. Before even telling him what I hated about my nose, he pointed the areas out. He went over what he would do to fix those areas. He was very nice & answered all my questions. I did my nose in October & I love it!!! I would def recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Arden is amazing! Went to him for a rhinoplasty and results are phenomenal. He explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable with the procedure. Very friendly, caring and professional. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Rourke and Dr. Becker are very caring doctors that are excellent at what they do. I have had life long sinus issues and had one previous sinus surgery with another ENT (at a different practice 5 years ago) when I was told that I needed another surgery I got a second opinion from Dr. Rourke. My results have been life changing. My son sees Dr. Becker and has had great results after his tonsillectomy. Him and I both feel better than ever and I am so thankful that we found Lakeshore ENT.
We brought my 95 year old dad in to see Dr. Rourke last June and were elated with the outcome that my dad could hear again after Months of earwax blockage that was not removed from our first visit with another ENT. The staff was very compassionate. My dad was not very happy until the end when he could hear all our jokes being told we all went out laughing.Big Thank you to Dr. Rourke from the Kraut family.
Have seen Dr Arden several times and 2 surgeries over the last 9 years and has alwaysbeen a great Dr in my opinion. Would recommend to family and friends
I hope the doctors here are punctual enough than their patients... also i wonder if they keep a stopwatch to see their patients. 😂
I had a revision rhinoplasty done by doctor Arden. I believe he is a caring surgeon but the results were terrible. I had a great looking nose before and just wanted a minor revision to allow for better breathing. I received an aggressive revision that entirely changed the look of my nose. My breathing is better but not great and the change aesthetically has been drastic. My nose is now wider and crooked. It has been overall a very tough experience and I am now looking down the barrel of a 3rd surgery when I had a great nose to start out with. I regret my decision to have this revision done.
Great friend me people waiting is the longest part but once you get a room its pretty much in and out unless you have questions they take the time to answer those and so you understand
Dr. Becker I great! My kids love him. Hes a great surgeon as well.
Dr. Becker is amazing with my 8 year old! He always makes her feel so comfortable and not nervous!
9/2018 - If you cannot get past rude front office personnel, look elsewhere. Dr. Arden is well respected in his field and is highly rated. My surgery is too fresh to pass judgement on, but so far so good.5/23/19 - OMG, the surgery is on the ONE! It came out perfectly. More than worth my bruised ego from the front office. Up a star for sure.
For Dr. Handzo.I take meds that can cause lymphoma and have Sjogrens Syndrome, which causes swelling and blockages of various glands, especially salivary glands. Have noticed one side of neck is more swollen than the other. Asked Dr. Handzo why that might be (because Im concerned about Sjogrens and Lymphoma) and he said Id have to see a plastic surgeon to get fat around neck removed. Wow! Is that what hed say to a man? Why did he think I was concerned about looks and not about health? He did a great deal of sighing and telling me he could send me to a bunch of doctors and theyd all say I was fine and Id waste a lot of money. One of those doctors who looks at a woman and sees a hypochondriac, apparently.--My response to your response --So the answer is I should be pleased that the insult was free? I was sent by my primary doctor and didnt know that my question was not my primary reason for going. I asked my doctor about the neck issue and she said she would send me to Lakeshore. They didnt ask me why I was there. If I hadnt asked I would have missed asking about MY primary concern. And let me correct you -- he didnt evaluate me. I asked why would one side of my neck would be so much more swollen than the other side, something that is new for me over the last year of my 53 years with Rheumatoid Arthritis, so he may have concluded that since my neck is partially auto-fused the muscles are building up differently; he may have said hes seen that before, so dont worry; he may have said thats unusual, but he can tell by touching it that its fine. But no.There was no evaluation. He just said, Yeah, only a plastic surgeon could fix that. And maybe you could have the gland removed but that would be really bad for your health. If you dont know thats condescending as hell, than youd better question your ability to communicate with patients as well. But fine, the fact that he didnt HEAR my concern and gave me a rude, thoughtless answer is cool, because I had some nerve asking a second question. Gotcha.
Great Doctors & staff, great with children too
Had a great experience, came in for a consultation for My troubled breathing.Dr Arden gave me a honest answer and told me to wait until I stopped doing jiu jitsu before thinking of any procedure.Could have easily convinced me to proceed to a surgery but gave a honest answer.
I would definitely recommend lakeshore ent.
Dr. Arden is incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and caring on top of being an amazing surgeon!
Doctor talked more than he listened, put together care plan and treatment very well, seemd very educated, socially skills/bedside manor needs improvement.
I had to wait over an hour past my appointment time to see the doctor. The protocol provided for my recovery was very good though.
Dr Arden has done an amazing job on the recunstruction on my Under eye & cheek area after having a large portion of skin burnt off from a Skin cancer mole that was removed days before. I had went to him from referral from a friend & the Dr that did the cancer removal. (Spot under my eye was bigger than a quarter) within 3 months & 2 skin recunstructions (which he was talking 2-3 before completed) barely any scarring could be seen. Its been 7 months now & as advised, Unbelievable nobody can even notice the scar at all now, I can hardly notice it myself. Def would refer him for any skin reconstruction and would feel 100% comfortable that he KNOWS exactly how to fix any type of issues. Hes amazing.
Reception staff was very nice, Dr. was friendly and professional, audiologist was also friendly and efficient.
Update Nov 30 18: Here is the final update on the bill. The office finally accepted their mistake, and they said they would take care of it. In summary, they are going to rebill my wifes insurance Beaumont Health with the correct tax ID, and it will be taken care of it. All I am responsible was the copay which I paid it back in Feb 18.The kudos goes to the office manager Sheela working with me understanding the situation from all sides and working on a resolution. Thank you, Sheela, for resolving it. Appreciate it.Not changing the rating because 1) they could have fixed it a long time ago. I didnt need to bring in my attorney and to send the bill the collection agency. 2) Dr. Becker should not just take sides of his office and say it is okay these things happen. Understand the whole situation see where the problem is and own it. It is your practice.---------------------------------Try to avoid this place as much as you can. This office does billing malpractice, and thats how they make money. My wife is a provider at Beaumont, and she has Beaumont insurance. After the birth of our twins, their Pediatrician recommended doing an ENT visit. The twins were less than one and a half week old. This was back in March 18. My wife called the office and said she has Beaumont insurance. The office gave us an appointment and told us to come to the Rochester location. When we went to the office the staff at Rochester location said they do not take Beaumont insurance and we will have to go the Sterling Heights location. Now bear in mind we called the office ahead of time and made sure they take Beaumont insurance at Rochester location. They said yes. They made a mistake. The office staff said if we want our insurance to pay for it then we will have to go to the Sterling Heights location. Cancel todays appointment and then reschedule for a different day and time. My twins were less than a week and a half old. I took time off from work, and we had a follow-up appointment with the Pediatrician in two days. The office staff did not help us. I didnt want to bring my twins in the cold twice and make my wife travel in her maternity leave when she just delivered the babies after a c-section.The office staff spoke to the office manager Sheela, and they said we could do an out of network and the bill will be a few $100. I decided okay. It is still worthwhile rather than traveling with newborns in the cold. Dr. John Becker made a diagnosis on my twins. His bedside manners were terrible. He took sides of his office staff and said these things happen.Next, I see a bill of $1000 total. I got the bill in May 18. I called the office again, and they said we didnt go the correct location and thats why the bill is so high. First of all the office made a mistake and secondly, they said it would be a few $100 for out of network. I did not expect $1000. After making multiple calls with my wifes insurance at Beaumont, my attorney and speaking to Lake Shore office manager Sheela, I realized they billed me as if I have no insurance at all. Not even out of network. Had I paid it to Dr. Beckers office they would have $1000 for their wrongdoing. This is ethically wrong.Next thing they tried to fix my bill by billing as out of network with Beaumont insurance. Soon my bill came to a total of $496 after calling my attorney and initiating a claim with Beaumont insurance UMR wondering why the law is still so high. The reason is that Lake Shore ENT billed me with a different tax ID. My attorney said they could fix the issue by putting in the correct tax ID. Beaumont insurance also said the same thing the insurance will pay for it if Dr. Beckers office billed me with the proper tax ID.Now it is Nov 18, and the case has still not resolved. The other day I noticed that they had sent the bill to a collection agency.I am still fighting for it. I told the office if they dont fix it. I am taking the case to Beaumont Provider Relations and bringing them to court.Be aware of Dr. Beckers billing malpractice!!!
He has been amazing for my 2 kids (ages 3 and 7). They love going for an ent visit! Hes very quick and efficient. He helped my sons hearing fully recover and no more sleep apnea or constant infections. I highly reccommend Dr. Beckard for children of all ages! ☺
They prescribed me 7 things in two visits and my symptoms have only gotten worse just for one throat infection... they probably help the kids get better but just stuff the adults with as many prescriptions as they can to make more money.
Dr. Arden is the best dr in the hole world he did an amazing job for my nose before it was terrible I even was don’t like to see my self in merrior but after he did the surgery for me am in love with the results he’s amazing I want to thank him soooooooooo much ur the best and awesome
Great place if you have any type of Throat, nose, ear problems
Went in as a new patient, received a confirmation call about my appointment, when I arrived I was told I needed a referral from doctor. I told them they sent one over, immediately I was told it was not the right referral then was told I should know my insurance. As a new patient to the practice first impression last long time the first impression I was given was not very good at all the staff was not very accommodating and actually not very nice, kinda of disappointed. Also was unable to see the doctor and was told I needed to reschedule in 3 weeks after waiting a month to see the doctor.
Love Dr Becker
Great place outrageous prices $300 for one visit with insurance
Know it all doctor, doesnt pay attention or listen to everything the patient has to say. I underwent a nose surgery to no avail, completely pointless with no improvement. Still cant breathe through my nose at all, complete waste of money and crap doctor. Go somewhere else
Didnt really give me an answer, but sure. Theyre ok
Super friendly staff and doctors.
Excellent experience.
Great doc
Saved my life
Good doctor and explain all the details
