Fairly certain in the multiple times Ive been there, I could have entered and left without the shop keeper(s) even knowing I was there.

Pretty cool place. Tons of anime products. Somewhat cluttered but definitely something for anyone into that kind of stuff.

This store is super cool. I can walk around it for hours. All kinds of Manga and Anime Merch, and all the cool things from Japan are exciting to look at they have special Niche sodas and food as well I definitely make this a stop anytime Im in Henrietta we are lucky to have such a unique store in the Rochester area.

They had a wide selection to choose from, pins, bags, plushies, manga anything you could want, my only problem was the cashier at the time, I had 2 items and when I went to pay I asked if I could use card and the cashier said yes and pointed to this little gray box that’s obviously a chip reader, I said how my card is swipe only and they took the reader of the stand and set it on the counter and said to swipe at the top, I was very confused because at first glance you can’t tell there is a place to swipe your card, I said how I was confused, instead of indicating where to swipe my card the cashier just raised there voice and said “the top” I figured out that the microscopic lip at the top of the reader was meant for swiping and not just how it was built and swiped my card. I knew it didn’t go through as a receipt didn’t print, the cashier then typed at the computer and side screen for a few minutes not saying anything and then pulled out a normal card reader and told me to use that. I paid and left and I just want to say the whole interaction made me extremely uncomfortable and even my friends who were with me said how it made them uncomfortable and how they didn’t understand why the cashier was upset. Not sure why they felt the need to raise their voice as it was a simple fix, the whole transaction process was around 5 minutes for 2 items and the cashier did not explain what they were doing or to swipe my card again or how they were getting the other card reader, wish it was a better experience for my first time visiting the store.

Been coming to Hammergirl for years. Great store, they have plenty of items you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else. The owner Luke was great, and patiently answered my daughters questions.

This store is heaven love this place I never leave without buying something there hands down. If you love Anime and want something that has your favorite shows this is your place. Give this place a try anime lovers and video game lovers will love the gifts you buy from here.

Surprisingly large selection, staff is friendly too. Only place Ive found for Melonpan as well. The few items I price checked were cheaper than online stores. Highly recommend.

Jam packed with anime and manga. Gunpla section was a lacking in size but had good variety.

Even if you have only watched one anime you will feel at home here I mostly buy figurines and I just absolutely love being able to buy them in person compared to Amazon

Most of the manga i get there is in good condition or ok condition. on one of the covers in the corner the paper had been scratched, but thats about it. most of the time the manga is in good condition or almost perfect. the figures are good priced, some dont have the best paint job, but theyre also priced really cheap, about 30-40 dollars. the more expensive ones are really good quality, and arent even that expensive. the other merch suuch as pins, posters and such are also great, there isnt a huge variety of anime but mostly mainstream. there snacks are also good, and theyre plushees are cute. would highly recommend!

This place has been around since I was in my teens and there is a reason why. There are few places left that are dedicated to selling Japanese pop memerobella, physical anime media and Manga and they have an extensive collection.

The owner is a true otaku super nerd who is happy to help his patrons. He is very knowledgable and you can tell he is very passionate about the business. Ive never had a bad experience here, sometimes I feel the selection is alittle limited, which isnt a bad thing per say, but I would rather shop locally than shop online, but with a limited selection Im if course gonna have to do what I can. But out of the selection they do have, I always find quality items!

I drove 4 ½ hours to come here and I would do it again in a heartbeat. this place had the best selection of keychains, pins, figures and plushies that Ive seen yet. the staff was super friendly and helpful. the manga was good as well but the store is really mainly merchandise. this place is awesome. Very friendly staff, and a very wide variety of anime and manga. Lots of Weiss Schwarz and other card game supplies too. The prices were very affordable and comparable to online pricing as well. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be a regular spot for me.

The only place I can think of to get anime and manga goods. If you are looking for Keychains, plushy, figures, pins and badges of your favorite anime characters this is the place.All of the products come from Japan so the price reflects that, but with that being said prices are still reasonable. They get new stock in regularly, and keep their website updated.

The employees need to learn how to talk to people- over the phone and in person. The sickly, groan-y, monotone employee I just talked to needs to learn how to be patient, not raise his voice, and how to not get frustrated. Put that ego in check. Love the store, the employees are meh.

They were very kind and very quick. I live all the way in California and usually have a hard time ordering imports from Japan, especially from small businesses, but I am glad to say that Hammergirl proved me wrong. Their customer service was quick and very helpful. They sent my plushes way quicker than expected, and they even sent over little candies and a note that thanked me for my business. Little touches like that really make this an unforgettable experience. 11/10 . I will definitely be ordering from them again very very soon.

I had a very good experience shopping here, even though it was my first time. The selection was nice and I bought quite a lot of things. Small items like pins and keychains are pretty expensive($6-11) and while visiting Japan I got the same items for a fraction of the price(approx $1-5). I understand they are imported but I do not mind paying a little extra to keep places like this in business.I didnt find the one staff member to be rude in responseto other reviews, maybe a bit standoffish but definitely not in a negative way. Im from Syracuse, and I will be returning and bringing friends along with me.

Some of the prices are amazing especially the nendoroids some are competitive when compared with the price plus shipping but the higher end scales are a little pricy.

I literally dreamed about going to an anime store for many years. Recently I decided to look to see if there were any anime stores in the general area and found this place! My fiancé and I drove about 40 minutes yesterday and today just to see what they had. An amazing selection of manga, figures, pins, and many other things. And I’m pretty sure there are many imported items (the prices are a little high but still worth it!). Needless to say we decided to give up our Starbucks money to start shopping here! You should definitely come shop here!

I LOVE going to Hammergirl Anime ! The owners/employees are knowledgable and have made awesome and reliable recommendations to me in the past. I especially love how accepting the environment feels there. I would encourage everyone to support this place over corporations. For anime fans, its a truly authentic place, with a great manga selection, imported Japanese candy, etc. Im so grateful Rochester has a place like Hammergirl Anime.

Excellent selection, not much else.Been coming here for years, the customer service is not good, the owner always seems to be in a bad mood, maybe I catch him on bad days? Not sure. Many other anime stores have events throughout the week, while Hammergirl only has events on Saturday Afternoons. The prices are good on some things, but way overpriced for others, I just buy everything online from Japan directly because its cheaper.

The manager here is pretty cool, I go to school just down the road so its always nice to stop by and pick up snacks and whatnot. They dont usually have things for the shows I like but its a good store.

Store staff is extremely knowledgeable on anything Ive asked about. Super chill environment (sometimes the place is a bit packed and overwhelmed precovid but thats unavoidable). They were way ahead of the covid safety curve so thats super nice too. The products Ive bought are all high quality, and the only issue I had with a product they helped me figure out a solution in very little time.Their prices are a little high on somethings however for convenience of having it in store, and being a local business its totally worth it. If you like anything anime related I highly recommend you swing by.TLDRIf youre looking for something anime related you wont regret coming here.

Im not even trying to be rude... But my God can we put in a mandatory rule that when you have card tournaments... That the attendees need to BATHE? I went there recently and there was a card tournament going on... My God it was a wall of smell that hit me immediately. Otherwise, not a bad store.

If you have have a sense of smell, Id recommend wearing a scented mask. The store smells the worst during Tournaments.Prices are very steep mostly.For figures expect to pay about 50% more than collectable stores like gamestop/thinkgeek. (not even going to mention online stores)Card games... it is between 50%-100% more depending how you buy. (Individual packs or boxes)Gachas, or keychains they are reasonably priced.Plushies are just plain expensive.

Great selection and even better staff

I guess the usual lady wasnt there today but I couldnt tell. The guy that helped me (me being someone that is NOT into Anime) was totally awesome. I was looking for something out of the norm for my little sister and didnt even know how to describe it well. Well the guy knew what it was and my sister will be thrilled. Super friendly/ knowledgeable staff, pleasant atmosphere, and some really cool/cute stuff. They even had a K-drama stash in the back for a Ajumma like me. Love the store, Ill be back!

Best place to go for anime and other otaku materials in the area

Didnt have what I was looking for, kind of a mess in general but they did have a good size selection overall and some collectibles as well

The place looks like an amazing anime merch store, but I visited during the national tournament for Weiss Schwarz and it was not a fantastic experience due to the store being overpopulated with far too many warm bodies in far too small square footage.

Great store! Huge selection of anime products. They have weekly tournaments and free cards for new players. Weiss Schwartz is heavily supported here, and they host mutliple tournaments weekly, so definitely go to those. The staff are fun and very knowledgeable, but they wont bother you if you dont ask them anything.

A very unique little store that I will occasionally travel from the Buffalo area to go look at and pick up Anime and Manga products. They also have some interesting card games available for sale and the staff is very friendly.

Hammergirl is one of the only places Ill buy my manga from. This store is an absolute treasure trove for manga readers with their extensive collection and the staff is very cool and knowledgeable - especially Luke. I only really go there for the manga, but they also have a large collection of figurines, trading cards, and other anime-based collectables to check out :)

The owners and staff REALLY know their stuff. The shop is friendly to all ages. Its well lit and well laid out. Their weekly Pokémon league also draws a big, family-friendly crowd.
