My significant other and I have been here a few times now and we love it. The menu is unique so I implore you to go for something you normally wouldnt try! Thai-tanic is my go to. The employees are very friendly. Their safety precautions for Covid are above and beyond so you can definitely feel safe if you are one of those with high-anxiety over our current state in America. They also have a punch-card reward system. We are making this our regular Thursday or Friday night spot.
Ive had class 520 before and gave it another try since it was the only one opened at the time I ordered it. Cool concept but it wouldn’t be my go to for ice cream. I got the Rainbow Roll which consisted of ice cream with fruity pebbles and I added condensed milk, graham cracker, mangoes, and strawberries.IMO I thought the graham cracker could’ve been more crushed. Other than that, the ice cream was good. Thanks Class 520.
Real good rolled ice cream and service
Their rolled ice cream is so good! They have a lot of flavors to choose from. They also have milk teas. My son loves this place. I recommend trying it if you haven’t yet.
This place is the only one in the area that does rolled ice cream. The flavors are limited but taste good. My biggest complaint is that their machines arent great. Ive had rolled ice cream at better places (california) and the difference here is the texture and shape -rolls start melting and losing their distinct rolled look
Very very yummy. I got the #3 oreo.
Love love 520. Flavor choices are amazing, and some cool options any ice cream lover will appreciate. Pricing is a good value and the employees are always kind and helpful. Sweet place that I can’t wait to return to for more of 520 Ice cream.
Got rolled ice cream and it was delicious! Great service and great product !
Great ice cream.
Truly gleeful every single time I get a brownie or cookie sundae with two scopes of ice cream from this fine establishment. Peep the pic for proof of a great experience. I really love this place 😋
Best ice cream in the area! Must try!
This is our favorite place to get ice cream in Rockville in the summer!
The experience is unique, which I think is what brought me here. 520 is about customization, sort of like your typical M-nchies experience. However, it is different in that the dessert is made in front of you and its slightly more expensive for the same portion. I would honestly rate this place 4 and a half stars, but will bump it to 5 because it had a friendly atmosphere. I recommend giving it a shot if you are looking for something new.
The place is clean, the staff is friendly, the taste is not as creamier as other ones I’ve had before. I will come again but I have tasted better.. what I liked about this place is that my daughter wanted additional toppings and they gave it to her without charging me. That was very nice! I recommend it.
I will never go there. The service is very bad. Its not quite what I want. Rainbow roll is totally different from the picture.
Great icecream some of the best I ever had
Very good icecream and many options!!
Overpriced ice cream all because they have unique designs. When icecream is made they cheap out and give me only two toppings and one sauce to choose from. Kind of feel cheaped out on toppings because of it. None the less the ice cream tastes good. BE CAREFUL the smell is odd in there and dont like being in there for long because of it.
Parking is tight but the store is big and clean. Fruit seems fresh and good service. You get to pick which mix you want, they have a small list of flavor combos and you get 3 toppings. I wasnt sure if i could choose my own flavor and the cashier told me some of the popular mixes so I picked the trip to hawaii. It had pineapple, coconut, and Blackberries which was good and the base is creamy. However, it tastes more like a sugar free berry ice cream and not tropical. It is good overall but not amazing and I felt a little queasy after. I would go back though and get abother flavor. Im not sure if you could choose your own base abd decide what you want in it instead of the store made options. It would be nice of they had more base flavors like taro or more combos.
Decent place to go for ice cream. Fun to watch them make the rolled ice cream. Great selection of toppings. My daughter’s favorite ice cream shop.
Picture Cold Stone. But the ice cream is actually infused with flavor. The treat you order starts as a liquid. Its poured on to a freezing metal slab to hard the ice cream and mix in your choice of flavors. Then rolled right and stuffed into a cup.Its fun to watch! Its fun to eat! The flavors heavenly and mixed into every bite.
Delicious ice cream with fresh fruit toppings
My favorite place. The owner is super kind. Amazing boba, fabulous ice cream. Super clean and bright. Theres not a single thing I dislike about this place.
Amazing place. Loved the ice cream and people were nice!
Fun to watch them make the rolled ice cream! Kids loved it, and they have some games to play if youre there with a group. Great selection of toppings - we love the toasted marshmallows! Also love that theres free parking. Not sure that Id become a regular, but a decent place to stop for occasional ice cream.
A unique ice-cream experience! Make sure you let them know if you have allergies. The entire process is fascinating and use of fruits and other ingredients is unique.
Delicious! Macaroons are phenomenal!! Taro is my favorite flavor tea. :) Nicest staff and very fun.
This is a unique experience. So many options of flavors, textures and extras. After making your choices, a bowl of flavored cream is poured on an extremely cold metal plate. Fruits, crumbs and other flavoringsare minced into the rapidly freezing puddle. When everything is a thin solid consistency, your server begins to scrape and roll the ribbons. They will then gather them into a cup. Toppings and drizzles are added. Time to taste! Yes, they are a bit expensive, but you get a bit of theater with your treat. Enjoy.
A friend of mine recommended me trying rolled ice cream, so I searched on Google near by and found Class 520 in Rockville, MD. I was satisfied with the quality of the product but I left very upset because I witnessed the manager or owner who is Asian mistreating his employees in front of all the customers. He is so unprofessional and it hurt me to see the way he would even grab by the arm and yelling into the employee’s ear. I was not the only customer who witnessed and noticed this moment.
Yummm! What a treat!
The new girl is great! I think her name is Briana. Great service. Excellent ice cream, even better prices! 10/10 would recommend
LOVE THIS PLACE! I drive 40 minutes just to go here for the cool ice cream and even the fresh bubble tea that comes in a light bulb. This place is super unique and the vibe is very fun & friendly!
First Thai ice cream experience, I agree that the ordering process can be better but the ice cream itself was pretty good. It’s like a Cold Stone Creamery except that the whole product is made in front of you instead of just mixing toppings into already made ice cream. The process takes a little longer but the results are worth it.
Not a great experience from the get go. The music playing was inappropriate (contained the F word) and was too loud. The lady working, who we later found out was the manager, didnt even hear us come in or talking. The music was finally changed after we heard the F word a 3rd time and my sister and I exchanged glances. The ice cream was ok, but I lost all interest after ATTEMPTING to use the restroom. It was absolutely disgusting! The toilet was covered in urine and there was a pubic hair sitting in a puddle of urine at the front of the seat/bowl top. Obviously it hasnt been cleaned in a week or more because the base of the toilet and the back of the bowl were covered in dried urine and dust. If the restroom looks like this, what does the rest of the facility look like and how is it cleaned? I couldnt eat another bite after seeing this and threw out 3/4 of my $7 ice cream! When I said something to the lady, her excuse was I didnt have time to check it. Still grossed out 3 hours later...
Once you come here, I doubt you will visit your old ice cream shop as often. Made fresh right in front of you, and many toppings to choose from. Also give the vietnamese coffee a try.
I tried the Trip to Hawaii and the Green Super Giant and as far as taste goes, both were great. The only negatives are as said by others already, the parking can be a beast and if you are past a certain age, the loud music can be like finger nails on a chalkboard after a little while . Recommend you try it once for the experience then go elsewhere next time. Id be a repeat customer if I lived on walking distance but otherwise one and done.
The ice cream was delicious and very amusing to watch it being made. My family and I go there often, the people that work there are very nice and friendly. All in all,Class 520 is the best!
Actually got delivery from their College Park location so I wanted to try the Rockville cuz its closer to my actual house. Mind you my ice cream was perfect from CP. I read it review talking about the texture and I was really confused because my ice cream that was delivered didnt melt and I was shocked. So if youre thinking about delivery this ice cream actually delivers really well too.I was very pleased with the service. The ice cream is stuck at it I did the smores galore. My cousin did the monkey business and as much as I hate banana I actually liked her ice cream too. I also did the milk Thai tea. The cups are super cute. My cousin and I were literally silent because we were shoving ice cream into our face. We both were laughing cuz it was so good and everybody else around us was talking but we were just silent happily eating away! We did come to Rockville for the eat in review it was wonderful!!!
520 is such a lovely place. I loved the atmosphere and its a great place to hang out with friends. The drinks are so fun and the ice cream is so fresh. The toppings are also quite unique and refreshing. 520 is the place to be!
Delicious options, great ice cream spot! Friendly and fun atmosphere. Great place for any type of group! Staff is always great and inviting!
This is one of those rolled ice cream places. They make it in front of you on a freeze plate. Kind of like cold stone meets molecular gastronomy. The ice cream was good. The toppings were extensive. It was expensive though. $7 for one. But they did cool things like toasted a marshmallow fresh for a smores flavored ice cream. This is a once in a while place. Not an every week place.
Love the ice cream and lovely toppings, fantastic workmanship from the crew! they work hard to bring us some tasty treats and there lounge area is incredible!
I love this place, their ice cream is always on point.
Results of the ice cream was good and the application of it was interesting. I would go back
This place is hopping with a youthful crowd, but still good place to take the kids or parents. The rolled ice cream is delicious and they have great, fresh selections. Highly recommended!
Not any difference from any other ice-cream Ive tasted. But I guess its pretty cool for kids.
Love it! The ice cream is great and all the flavors are good. Definitely my familys favorite ice cream spot.
Expensive since its a destination, this little hole in the wall Thai ice cream shop is delicious! I love watching the participants do what I cringe to imagine emulating, grinding ice cream made from its literal disparate parts. Watching these masters roll ice into the ubiquitous condensed milk makes my carpal tunnel riddled hands ache, but the botanical finished masterpieces are a delectable treat. Dont expect a lot of space to stretch out, but do expect fantastic flavors!
Clean space and staff and friendly.
Tasty
Such a fun way to make ice cream! And its delicious! My favorite is the Monkey Business or something like that..
Very dense and creamy Thai style ice cream. Pack your patience, each bowl takes several minutes to make. Very worth it.
Over hyped place. Ice cream aint special for $7. You get 5 rolls and 3 toppings. If you join their rewards program you get 10-25% off. Plenty of better places in the area to go to for dessert
Did not know this place even existed. Surprising because I come to town center quite often. We were walking around to see if we found a bubble tea place but alas! We saw this place and it stole our attention. The pictures looked so yummy that we forgot about bubble tea haha! They have an enormous variety of ingredients for your ice cream. I did strawberries, Oreos, and mango and my gf did a crazy amount of ingredients that I can’t even remember. She’s more adventurous....Regardless, It was a delicious combination. I Added cherries and more Oreos on top of mine because why not? Will definitely be back!
Cute and quirky. Love the overwatch themed tea names, and the ice cream is super good. All of the customization options are great too ☺
Fantastic ice cream and milk tea. Loved it.
My wife liked it very much. There are no non-dairy options. Ordering system could be streamlined instead of calling out numbers. It slows down the whole process.
I like this ice cream bar a lot because of their unconventional flavours. Their toppings are really expensive too. I wish it was a little less but its very good anyways its worth it.
The employees were friendly, and the ice cream was so dense and smooth! The taste was very consistent and delicious, as were the toppings. The wait time was almost non-existant, though that being said, I did go on a Monday. Totally worth a try!
Great place fun and interesting. Great ice cream and great tea. Highly recommend
The ice cream tastes good. They seem to do a decent job. Fruit doesnt always look the most fresh, but you dont generally notice it when its chopped up. My main issue is the service. If the place closes at 10 and you go in at 9:45, while they are still taking an order, you should still be allowed to be served. If it closes at 10, that means you stop serving at 10. Not 15 mins prior. I can understand saying the dining area will be closing at 10 so you need to take your order to go, but its very frustrating to get there 15 mins prior while people are still taking orders and be told its closed when it clearly is not.
Great way to make ice cream looks super healthy though. Think I will getting my ice cream from here. Great staff too (I am kinda of biased towards my Asians cos they are cool like that).
Could give them fewer stars if I could. They got me hooked on this good ice cream and then... I came back for more on March 14th, 2019 @ 1:05 pm and March 19th at 12:48 pm and they were closed. On the store sign, it clearly says they are open from 12pm - 10pm every day. When I called them to ask why they werent open, they did not have an explanation. Maybe there is a disgruntled employee that closes the place when it should be open. If the owner sees this, please do something about it.
This was our first visit and found the ice cream really tasty! We tried the monkey business (banana and nutella) and strawberry lady (vanilla, strawberry and graham crackers). Each ice cream can get an additional 3 toppings and a sauce that’s included in the $7.25 price.Cons:- it’s expensive (it’d be great to have a smaller size!)- it was kind of confusing if you are unfamiliar how the process works- we had to sit down and wait for our number to be called. Would be nice to have them make it when they’re ordered - in more assembly line fashion to keep things more efficient- they were a little busy on a Saturday night around 830pm, that said, the staff didn’t seem all that friendly- no curb appeal - with the Class 520 name, i would have had zero idea what it was had we not specifically sought it out tonight.Overall, it was tasty and I’d recommend giving it a try- but it wasn’t somewhere that I’ll likely go out of my way to visit.
Always busy but always worth the wait
Unique experience, tasty ice creams and bubble teas!
We came here for the Thai rolled ice cream. Its a cute little hang out. There are board games, and a mirror that takes up an entire wall to draw on. The ice cream was pretty expensive. We bought 3 and tipped 15%. The total was $25 and some change. Will probably come back and make the kids share.
I love the whole packaging with the Thai tea here. The ice cream is pretty good too
