Easy to find, parking lot was a little busy because there are other stores but it was manageable. The shop is moderately sized with some seating. I ordered pastries and coffees, it was a little pricey. Service was fast. The pastries were ok, and coffees were ok, and that’s the best way to put it. Just OK. It did not make such an impression that I would go out of my way to return any time soon
So I’ve decided to try other coffee shops other than Starbucks (which is honestly just fast food let’s not call it a coffee shop.) and I came across Coffee Republic. This coffee shop is so cute !!! I got a iced, calm bean, which has lavender and vanilla. It was so good and so much better than I expected it to be. Will definitely be coming back. And the woman that took my order was such a sweetheart ❤️ I wish I got her name she was extremely nice.
Alright - GET TO THIS COFFEE SHOP ASAP PEOPLE! I’ve lived near it for the past few years and I never thought to stop by. I recently went in just because honestly Starbucks is not that great compared to other small coffee shops, and I wanted to try something new! I ordered the the calm bean latte (lavender and vanilla) and it was freaking amazing! The service was also really nice and I got my drink in a timely manner. I would definitely come back here again for a treat. I just feel like it is a little expensive. I paid $7.37 for a 16 ounce latte with oat milk.
Why didnt this exist when I lived in the neighborhood a few years ago?! All we had was Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks! My girlfriend and I were in the area running errands. We needed somewhere to stop for coffee and work on a couple projects.Coffee Republic is super modern, clean and spacious. Their drink menu carries some unusual items you dont get to see elsewhere like... Nutella Chai, Hazelnut Truffle & Honey Almond. We had...Honey Almond Latte with Almond MilkHazelnut Truffle Latte with Soy MilkI wasnt a fan of the honey latte. It was a tad too sweet for me. And I didnt taste almond. But the hazelnut truffle was amazing! BUT these arent strong lattes, Id suggest getting an extra shot if you like your coffee drinks semi-strong. I was still sleepy after drinking this!Parking is easy.Prices are reasonable.Nice little spot!
The place is cute and I was really excited to try a new place since I’m new in town. Unfortunately we were greeted with rolling eyes kinda of service. The cashier literally rolled her eyes when we asked about a dish that they don’t have (we just asked ifWas possible to make)I ordered a white chocolate mocha and I tasted like regular coffee with creamer, the quiche was definitely not what I expect, wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either and really overpriced. On top of all of that the service was really slow considering the simplicity of the order (microwave a quiche and two coffees)Im giving two star for the location and the space but I’ll not coming back.
Everything was fine... Regular coffee shop. Nothing to hoot about, but I do like that you can mix and match smoothie flavors... And the chocolate croissant was good warmed up
Found this place a week ago and I keep coming back since Ive been obsessed with their coffee. Calm bean latte is my favorite. It took me almost 40 minutes to drive to this place but it was worth it.
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Warm, cozy, and welcoming. I love how the baristas make sure that my drink meets or exceeds my expectations. Always something new and adventurous to try on the menu.
This place has been great over the years. We live in KF and have very much enjoyed watching our daughters grow up in the groovy atmosphere and varied music of the shop. However, their tea selection is really not good. Owner: if you are reading this, which I am sure you are, please provide non-herbal black tea both decaf and regular. We always have to bring our own tea in.
I am giving 2 stars only because the guy who waited on me said it was his first day, otherwise I would give one- and some of my experience wasnt his fault. My ice latte is ready so I pick it up by the top of the cup (NOT the lid). The lids for the 24 oz ice coffees are so loose fitting that mine pops right off and spills coffee all over the counter and floor. No one behind the counter seems to notice so I clean everything up and attempt to pick up my coffee, again, this time more gingerly. Again, the lid pops right off. I note to the barista that they are very loose fitting. Yeah, thats just how they are. I ordered a quiche and they gave it to me in a bag- cold. I go back inside and ask if they have a way of heating it up. New guy microwaves it and hands it back to me, IN A BAG. By the time I get to the car, the bag is soggy from hot quiche and the quiche falls apart as Im trying to get it out of the bag. Perhaps a flat-bottom container would be better for these things?? My first and last time to this coffee place. The silver lining was what was left of my lavender and vanilla latte was delicious.
Coffee was pretty bad. Banana bread and egg and salmon was tasty! But I came for the coffee very disappointed!
I was here to kill time while my cat was at the vet. The young guys working were so nice, knowledgeable, and really seemed to enjoy working here. Very pleasant atmosphere. I stayed a few hours reading, enjoyed 2 delicious drinks.Would recommend and return.
They refused to serve my mom because they thought she wrote a bad review when in reality she didn’t, they saw the same name as my mom but it wasn’t her who wrote it. Why would someone write a bad review and go back to the place? She doesn’t even have a Yelp account let alone know how to use it! My mom and little sister loved this place and went there almost every morning but now they’re refusing service because of someone else’s action. Be careful, if someone posts a review with the same first name they’ll look in their system for the name, search you up on Facebook and contact your job. Very stalker like and so unprofessional
Best place to get coffee in Rockville, MD. Find another spot better than this. Ill wait.
NOT a good experience. I came in for coffee and cake while waiting for my husband. The server was not exceptionally friendly, but OK. Coffee weak but acceptable, no great shakes. Could not put the cream in myself, and it took about three tries before the server could get it right. But the worst of the experience was the apple cake I ordered. It was so dry that I actually choked trying to swallow it, like even dryer than day-old would be. I took it to the counter and asked to exchange it for a different pastry, and the server told me she would have to charge me for an additional pastry, since I had already taken a bite. I asked her how on earth I would be expected to know if it was unacceptable until I had taken a bite, and she had no answer for that. All she would do was offer to warm it up, which helped only a tiny amount but actually made it even worse once it was cool. VERY unhappy with this level of “service” as the customer is basically at the mercy of the shop if what they serve is not good. Would definitely NOT recommend based on this experience.EDIT: I was contacted by management and offered a full refund for the day in question. In addition, they promised to include this in their staff training so it won’t happen again to other customers. Very impressed with management response to this! Increased my review to 3 stars because of the prompt and courteous response. More businesses should follow this customer service model!
One of the few coffee shops that have lavender, orange, and honey/cinnamon as flavor options for your drink. Also, the staff handled the sudden influx of customers like pros!
Cute place with good coffee, but it was the slowest service I’ve had in a long while. There were not many patrons there (and only two in line ahead of us), but we still waited over 10 minutes just to order and another 10 for our order of an iced coffee and 2 quiches.
This coffee shop was practically made for people who take coffee photography. Not only is their espresso machine 1. High quality 2.close to bar.The floor has a beautiful tile on it. As a photographer and Barista this shop is quickly going to become a regular place for me I fell in love with it very fast.
Love that this place takes the time to actually make REAL coffee. So delicious!
The service sequence was brilliantly performed! The coffee and foods were delicious. I greatly loved everything in this shop like the waiters/waitresses, place, and foods. Thank you so much to all of you guys because I came to work full of energy and confidence. I will surely come back! Thank you so much, guys! Highly recommended your shop!
Very nice area I didnt go to that store
Happened upon this place, and was not disappointed. The staff was super friendly and fun, and the espresso is really good
Nice place, slightly outdated design from the first look. Often you will see a long wait line, because it is a one-man operation. Nevertheless, a better pick than any Starbucks.I got my Americano and was told it was a medium roast. But it tasted like over-burned dark roast that killed all the flavor. There’s still hope for this local neighborhood coffee shop, hence 3-stars.
This is my first time coming here. I am very disappointed with this place. I bought a large iced chai latte, and it was very watered down and didnt have much of a chai flavor. For the price of this, I would expect at least a basic chai latte.I found a very nice place yesterday and it was amazing, I will go back there from this point on.
Great pour over and super dog friendly!!
It was great coffee shop. They were extremely easy to communicate with! coffee shop were really respectful of our place. Thanks so much for for the great experience! Highly recommended!
I went here last week for a meeting with a friend. The ambiance was pleasant and the wait staff was very friendly. I ordered an iced coffee, it was mostly good. My main dissappointment was that I clearly got the bottom of the container since my coffee was filled with grounds. I would probably go again.
Great coffee, great atmosphere and friendly barista. I tried their cappuccino and latte. I also had a giant 🍪. It was so good and fresh. 😍 Definitely going back! ☕️💕
This will he my go to place to get work done. Coffee and ambiance were great!
Delighted to have stopped by. Coffee was excellent and barista was super friendly and attentive. Will come back for sure.
Got pound of 10xx whole bean ($16.xx). Based on this one stop, its overpriced and rather poor quality beans and roasting. As you can see in the pic, beans differ drastically in its size, shape and color. The price is a premium price but quality is poor to bad. They must not sell much whole beans because a server evidently wasnt well trained on weighting and packaging.Overall reviews here seem positive and I dont want to take anything away from them unfairly but I really wasnt happy with their whole beans.
Great foam work at this little coffee place. Love the lattes. Wonderful service.
Tasty treats and beverages, served with smiling eyes (assume also a smile...but masks keep me from knowing for sure).
Great coffee, ample seating, and quaint atmosphere. Ive met friends and family here for tea or coffee plenty of times. Whether your working, catching up with friends, or warming up on a cold day, I recommend stopping in.The only reason I gave them four stars is that there are items on the menu that they dont have yet.
Stale chocolate croissant. Dont serve stale food.
One of the worst coffee experiences. The barista was working very hard, but on a Saturday morning the place was aggressively understaffed. I had to wait 30 minutes for regular drip coffee.
Fabulous coffee! Best in Rockville.
Great atmosphere, good service, great coffee.
Used to be really really great. I’d come here almost every day at some points, especially after they reopened after quarantine started. Wonderful coffee, great baristas and excellent costumer service. With the new management, however, Im a little disappointed and I don’t think I’ll be returning. Been there three times so far and the coffee hasn’t been on the same level and the prices are way too pricey. The same drink that I was paying 5 bucks for I was charged almost 8 dollars. That’s way above the average cost of the same drink at most places around here. There’s other wonderful coffee shops around here that I’ll be trying out instead. It’s unfortunate but things change, I suppose.
A tall gentleman with tattoos saw us on Thanksgiving, after he flipped the sign to closed, and continued to invite us in anyway. He treated my mom so nicely!. He was very cordial so I gave him an excellent tip (something I rarely do since I feel it is earned). Also, the coffee was outstanding. Nice job.
Great coffee, great location, and great atmosphere. I had a large hot latte, lavender flavor, and a delicious pistachio croissant! Everything was wonderful. Ill definitely be back!
Lavender Daydream is my new favorite.
Great place, good coffee and good vibes
Definitely one of the better coffee shops in the entire region. Service is always top notch.
Great coffee, but more importantly a great place to sit and enjoy it. Out here in the burbs, we lack for comfy coffee spots.
Best coffee place in the area. First of all, the coffee is so great. The flavour is rich and profound. Pastries are also very delicious. Most important of all, the staffs are so friendly. They always wear smiles on their face and talk nicely. I always bring my dog to the store and always get offered dog treats. Lastly, I love the vibe of the coffee shop. Music is awesome. Environment is chill. Will definitely recommend this place to relax, study and hanging out with friends.
Awesome little shop! Come here and sit for awhile outside or in. Great atmosphere, seating, drink choices and staff!
Great place to get coffee and breakfast
Great drinks and great place to meet in the King Farm neighborhood.
Don’t buy the banana smoothie 🤮🤢
New management stinks(OWNERS ARE NOT LOCAL) and the coffee is overpricedi’m not a former employee! just a gal with an opinion
Very nice place, good for getting a quick bite or coffee to go.
Quick service, friendly staff!
Great place, great coffee, and great people. I love coming here to hang out, chat with the baristas, and/or study. Awesome local business.
Cozy quiet place, great coffee super nice baristas...
Good coffee
Gem tucked away in king farm. We need more local cafes like this in the area. Their aesthetic is modern yet comfortable. The coffee hits the spot and comes in adorable ceramic mugs. I tried their seasonal lavender latte the other day. They also sell various pastries.
Adorable place with really friendly staff.
Coffee Republic is a pretty solid spot to get a nice cup of coffee or an espresso drink. Their food selection of usually pretty nice, too. While theyve got done of the largest apple fritters Ive ever seen, I usually end up visiting on Saturday or Sunday morning, and their breakfast sandwich selection isnt really consistent. Sometimes theres just a bunch of different types of ham biscuit/bagel/croissant sandwiches and Im not a fan of ham and wishing they had the turkey sausage. Also the seating is really limited if its even a somewhat busy time of day. But the staff have always been fantastic, friendly, and efficient.
The only good thing about this place is the design and vibe. The Iced coffee wasnt good. Also ordered a quiche, the shell was oddly sweet and very thick, very little egg & filling. Service was lacking- they didnt take down names and made little to no eye contact, even when they called our order. Didnt communicate that the quiche would take a few minutes to warm up. Overall just an underwhelming, disappointing experience.
The coffee is below mediocre. But what is extremely subpar is the service. The youngish ladies working there and the older woman with the hook nose all seemed extremely disinterested in making sure that customers had what they needed. The older woman was standing at the side of the counter eating her midday snack in full view of the customers. They “ran out of lids” which makes taking your coffee to go completely impossible. It was as if they were moving in slow motion. They had to be prompted to prepare the bakery items to go with my order despite over ten minutes having elapsed since being served my coffee. Not sure if management really hired the best crew to man the fort during the weekend. This particular set of ladies seemed as though they would be better suited in a salon somewhere threading eyebrows where constant chatting amongst one another would have less effect on the task at hand. Having a “hipster” vibe is not an excuse to have lackadaisical customer service. They have one job and failed miserably.
Cardamom latte is amazing!
Cool little spot to hang out and get stuff done. Unlike so many others, they’ve got a lot of spots to work and a very cool vibe. Staff seemed really friendly and the food was great too. Would definitely come back if I need a place around Rockville to kill some time!
Ive been here a ton of times. And I mean a ton. And I honestly think this is because they either were bought or changed their staff but the only reason I’m leaving this is something i think all boutique coffee shops should take seriously. Many people come here to get well made drinks and they are basically paying a premium for it because the prices are up there with other boutique coffee places. But their staff is literally hit or miss on who knows how to make a drinks and who doesn’t. If you’re a barista and you hand someone a latte, mocha or cappuccino that is too hot to hold without a sleeve, then you messed it up or you don’t know how to make one. And the other half of my visits they are usually great. But I’m serious in saying it is either great or horrible. I don’t understand. They should take this serious and if no one does then I don’t think I’ll come back anymore. I hate to say it but I have more consistency at Starbucks.
Thank you so much for my Cappuccino💜
Nice cozy place and good coffee!
Great coffee, but on the expensive side!
Great coffee and great staff. I have yet to find anyone here with a bad attitude, no matter how busy it gets. The environment is cozy and the latte and other caffeinated options are diverse. I loved the honey and turmeric latte. Keep up the good work, guys!
Latte delicious, great ambiance, cashier was pleasant. I will be coming back! It would be nice if Rockville had more coffee shops like this.
This is a very mice low key spot and the Chai Tea was awesome! You can sit inside where they have a comfy couch and they use actual dishes for a sitdown
Visited on NUMEROUS occasions: NO MORE. Coffee is NOT HOT; dogs on the premise NOT SERVICE DOGS (i.e., pets) sometimes barking. Have observed employees feeding treats to dogs, then returning to work as server behind the counter. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT for quality or service.
Very good coffee and breakfast sandwich. Good atmosphere and decor. Didnt actually serve cold Brew coffee, even though its on their menu. They sell canned cold Brew, so I thought that was odd.
An amazing gem of a local coffee shop in Kings Farm! Im no connoisseur, but the coffee is lovely and the wait staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about their wares. The shop itself has a comfortable, hip ambience that I would not expect of a suburban coffee shop and is great to work in (also free WiFi!). Would definitely recommend for a chill, productive afternoon of coffee and hanging with friends!
I heard so much good things about this place and I wanted to see for myself, I go around many coffee shops and try to see if their claim is good or not, I ordered a cappuccino and I asked where the beans are from, they had to look and read the bag, person making me the drink was very nice and good but the beans from El Salvador and Sumatra don’t make a good cappuccino, also their pastries choices are limited, nice cozy place to relax but I won’t go there again, when a customer ask where the beans are from and when it was roasted (date in bag) I expect an answer. There are lots of cheap mix blends of coffee beans .
Is open again ! With limited indoor and outdoor space. Opening time is changed to 9am
Awesome coffee shop! Alyssa is always pulling top notch espresso shots. The beans they sell are fresh and delicious. The food is simple but scrumptious!
I think its a good place if you like an 100% arabica coffee. And noisy music. The staffs are polite.
Great staff....very attentive to customers. Fun relaxed atmosphere
Love this place! The staff is always pleasant, the atmosphere is cordial, and their pastry offerings are wonderful. Were so happy to see this business come to King Farm and do so well.
I went in to treat myself with a coffee today. I tried to order a cup of coffee but then they informed me they were an hour away from closing and didn’t want to dirty any more coffee cups. So instead, they gave me the coffee in a glass which would have been okay had the glass not been splattered with coffee all over the outside. I couldn’t enjoy my coffee as it felt unsanitary and the service was just plain bad. An hour away from closing doesn’t mean closed. I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had today.
Classically good coffee shop in a nice location!
