Rude cashier lady..showed her ID for cigarets but my friend who ware there with me not smoking and dnt have ID on him so she refuse to sell cigarettes. Also took my ice tea back and turn her back to me without any explanation and went back to washing dishes.. she make look like she own the store and dont care about customers.. horrible service.. used to go there every day but never coming back again because of this uneducated person..

Best market in town. Staff always helpful and in a pleasant mood.Absolutely the BEST market food around! Our shop is next door and its nice to walk Into a simple market and buy some down home cooking.Im talking about mashed potatoes,ribs, pasta biscuits and gravy. This place could easily transition Into a resteraunt.Thank you for cooking some real food for the workhorses of America!

This place used to have good food and portions for a decent price. Now it’s just another over priced place that doesn’t seem to care about their customers. I won’t be going back

Last year when my fiance & I were looking for a house in Roseburg, we found one close to this market. We werent sold on the house right away, on the way back to the real estate agency we stopped in here to get some snacks. I was immediately hit in the face with the delicous smell of garlic potatoes and bbq ribs. Ended up not getting snacks and got dinner instead. This market is the reason we ended up getting our place. The owner & his wife are very nice and friendly people and theyve made us feel like a part of the neighborhood. The night lady with the tattoos is nice as well, she comes off as unfriendly but night workers are usually busy cleaning up after the day and really dont have time for chit chat, I know from experience. They always have everything in stock and they even have some household items you can pick up quickly instead of having to go to a big retail store.

This newer ladey with the rose tatoos, orange finger nails is alway realy rude to me and today wouldnt ring up the nos 3 for 5 was charging 6:60

Good service, great food, astronomical prices. So Id like to add something to my review. Apparently the only time you get good service is when you dont look like a bum and you have cash. Because even though I was a second person in line because I was there returning 10th I had to wait 40 minutes service. At what point was I no longer customer. I was cleaning up and I felt like walking down to the store cashing in my kids and finding it there store. But instead I waited 40 minutes and then when they finally paid attention to me told me I needed to hurry, I had to handle them myself which is normal protocol, but then proceeded to stand over my shoulder and watch me put each and everyone in told me I wasnt counting loud enough... lets put it this way they dont even watch you this hard when youre taking a whiz quiz. Itd be easier to get away with one of those and trying to put up wrong can and their bin. Ill never go back. Oh and one last thing, they only accept 24 cans. It took me less than one minute to count 24 cans. But they didnt have time for me I still waited 40 minutes.

I told the lady I liked short cigarettes and she yelled at me “well I can’t remember everyone”. The next time I walked straight to the soda machine, didn’t say anything, the same lady said “you’re not allowed in here with that attitude”. Fast forward a few weeks and I go in and apologized and get what I need and go home. Today I went there and the owners husband told me I’m not allowed even though I said sorry. I live near the store and walk extra just to go to J and J, the next closest mini market. 10/10 never spending my money there again. Such a shame for a family owned business to be so rude to people in the neighborhood.

Southgate Market is the best. I live close so I walk there all the time and know all the employees. One has said they would even consider me and my brother for adoption lol. Everyone there is super cool and are fun to mess around with. Great service all the time. 10000000/10. Definitely recommend.

A nice clean store. They have a wonderful menu of freshly made meals, every day. Its a great place to grab something on the run.

Glad to have a quick bite to eat after working a graveyard shift, but not exactly what I expected after the guys at work bragging about there lunch. Maybe they just lack breakfast and lunch is great?

Some of the best food recipes and prepared best in town for a true home like hoagie... Perfectly generous in dressings and easy to eat without it falling apart...minus, no lottery, for those that do...convenience, theres a store for that right down the street.

This is THE BEST market in Roseburg.SouthGate has very friendly staff and delicious food.The owners are very community oriented and are always giving back when they can.Highly recommend going here!

I love the people that own this place! They are pretty awesome.

Daily lunch specials with an available monthly calender. All the food is homemade, and they have take and bake pizza. Beer selection and price is fantastic for that side of Roseburg. Can even eat inside like at your family.

Lasr time i was there the burger and the service were great this time the lady was busier setting up her moving date. Wont be back

TOTALLY BUMMED!!!!What happened????This was my favorite lunchtime place to go for home cooked food. Good portions. Excellent flavor, and customer service was outta sight.Today (Oct 8, 14) I stopped in, thought they would be out of lunch offerings. In the past that would be the case if you were late for lunch the hot deli food would be sold out.Today Chicken Enchilada was on the menu. I was surprised to see they had a lot in the case. I was very excited as, from past experience, I knew it would be tasty good.Now I know why.... Enchiladas, very salty in some bites not so in others, really dry, and what happened to the cheese? The portion was a lot smaller too. I even asked if it was a full portion. It did have rice and chips as sides. But Id rather have a larger portion of the old recipe and forgo sides.I guess a couple years makes a big difference.I was a regular between 2000 and 2010, work schedule changed allowing only now and then til 2012.I wonder if the other weekly items have changed as much!Customer service was so so, no smiles, no eye contact, no bag offered with multiple items.

Worst customer service ever. Owner lied about me. Poor food and bad service. Don’t go to this location. Bad people. Do like veterans.
