My 1999 Saab wouldnt turnover so I had it towed to The Foreign Service. There arent many places willing to work on a 22-year-old car thats no longer in production. The ignition switch was a known problem. Stew, the owner, along with his staff, replaced the switch, resynced the new switch to the security system, installed the correct spark plugs and solved other issues. Now the Saab is running again. They did nice work for me.

This shop was recommended to me by a friend. We received excellent customer service and good communication. They fixed my vehicle for $1000 less than I was quoted elsewhere. The vehicle is still running well and I intend to bring it back for future services. Betsy was a huge help!

Good service, honest shop to take your car. I own a pretty rare car from a manufacturer that is no longer open and Andrew and Stu work with me closely to keep it in good shape. Fair prices as well. Would recommend.

We recently had the oil changed on our Saab at Foreign Service. When he closed the hood after changing the oil, the technician caused the hood to come off the track and the hood did not close correctly. Upon opening the front door on the drivers side, the hood which was off the track gouged the body of the car thereby damaging the finish/paint on the car. We returned the next day and the owner offered to repair it. However, when we returned he had not repaired it and he told my husband that he couldnt find that particular paint color. And there was nothing he could do! We went to a body shop in Little Canada and had it repaired for $200. We went in to Foreign Service for a oil change and came out with a $200 repair for damage on our car while it was in their care. Very disappointed. So our warning to potential customers: Buyer Beware. In a folksy little news letter that arrived in the mail today from Stew (the owner), he writes an article in which he relates several stories of poor customer service by Toyota dealerships and service advisers. He even goes so far as to accuse them of engaging in a practice we call double dipping. My suggestion is that Stew look in his own backyard before he goes into others.

If I could rate this shop less than one star I would. Brought my car here because it wasn’t working and I had high hopes because someone recommended this shop to me. I paid $140 for the diagnostic test and another $140 for an additional hr of service and they couldn’t diagnose my car. Everything seemed fine until I got my car back and brought it to another mechanic who now has to clean up after the mess this shop made. None of the bolts/screws that they took out were put back in, my computer system for my car was left unplugged along with a bunch of other things and they left mud all over my carpet. I paid $280 for them to do a half ass job and they couldn’t even figure out what’s wrong.

One of the worst auto repair shops ever seen in my life. I went there for a wheel bearing repair and they damaged the ABS system of my car. The next day I went back to them and have someone look at that and they said this is not our fault and we can do nothing to fix your car and we are not interested to work with you anymore. I had to call the cops to come to the site and create a statement about that . I am going to sue them through the court this week. This was the weirdest customer service ever . I highly recommend people not to try this shop ever. I dont want you guys to have the same problem I had with these guys.

My family has been taking our cars in to The Foreign Service for 15+ years now. Extremely intelligent mechanics who are dedicated to getting it right and excellent, personable service is what keeps us coming back. TFS should also be commended for not recommending expensive repairs when more economical workarounds might be possible.

Dont do business with this company unless you want frustration every step of the way. From the starting point where it took WEEKS longer promised to not standing behind up there warranty, it was always another excuse. When after i pay them when they said the car was done, mystery now when they moved the car it doesnt work right and will take another 4 days to fix. Then after getting the car back it breaks down again. My lack of trust with this company I brought it somewhere else to have it looked at and fixed. But they said the battery they put in my Prius was garbage and would cost $2500 plus I was forced to bring the back to this company for another round of abuse and excuses. What fun. Then it took them weeks to get the car back to me and also left me with a bill from another shop and a tow bill for there bad service. If I could give this company a negitive number I would. I suggestion would be have your teen ager that knows nothing about cars work on your vechile at least you might get honesty and probably a better job with out the run around...
