Since he fixed everything that other people didnt fix the first time (LAMBS), I dont need to go back. When I do need something fixed, I will use him again because he did good work the first time and completely fixed the problems and was honest up front about the costs and didnt try selling me things that I didnt need. He did more work than the competition and for less money. He is a well rounded mechanic and could fix about anything.

Our 2004 Ford Excursion PSD recently experienced a coolant leak while pulling our travel trailer. The truck was put on a dyno and pressure tested. The diagnosis was blown head gaskets. Of course all of these types of failures happen when you only have a couple of weeks before your vacation trip. I obtained price quotes from 3 shops and our local Ford dealer but was not satisfied with the reviews from these shops. I made a few phone calls looking for an experienced diesel tech. Those calls and Yelp reviews led me to Mannix Automotive in Round Rock. All I could find were 5 star reviews and now I know why. With two weeks to go until our trip Rich agreed to take the truck in for the needed repairs. With his diagnosis we agreed to replace several additonal parts in addition to the head gaskets. The truck body was lifted off the frame to make the engine more accessible. He also went the extra mile to have a machine shop resurface the heads and hot wash the intake manifold. The goal was to bulletize the Ford 6.0 liter engine. He finished the work with 5 days to spare. He asked that we drive the truck for several days then return to his shop for a final inspection. He is a one man shop but does amazing quality work. Two days after receiving the truck back we hooked up the 10K pound trailer and headed for the Rocky Mountains. We drove about 2100 miles at altitudes up to 13K feet. We had no issues with overheating or coolant puking. Truck performed flawlessly. Im not an easy person to please so its not often I write a review. Rich comes highly recommended.
