Everything was no-pressure. I really liked the experience and they didnt try to oversell me or take an hour of back-and-forth on closing the deal.However, the financial application could have been handled better. Not long after I left the dealer (an hour trip one way for me) they called and said Id have to come back and fill out paperwork. I find this a bit backward in todays age of tools such as DocuSign. So, I had to drive a two hour round trip the next day again, and likely again once my truck is in stock.HOWEVER, they made this right by offering to deliver my truck to me once it comes in stock.

I just visited this dealership for the first time to drop off my vehicle for just an oil change. All of the service writers were fantastic. Abby even grabbed a loaner to drive me down the street because the shuttle driver was 20 min away. An unbelievable move right there. You can really feel the quality service the moment you walk through the door. That kind of kindness goes a long way!

Best experience Ive had buying a vehicle! Derek was very responsive to my emails, as well as having the vehicle ready for a test drive as soon as I pulled up. Traded in a truck, which was looked over while I test drove. When I returned from the test drive I was told the trade in value, and 20 min later it was a done deal. We just finished a legal battle with the Ira Jack dealership. The intent of this review is more to educate the general public than to try to get people to stop patronizing Ira Jack.We bought a 2020 Chevy Bolt LT from Ira Jack on 29 May. The experience went quite well with little pressure. We purchased it after lengthy discussions about DC (fast) charging and our intent to use the car to take longer trips to NJ (360+ miles) and elsewhere.Approx. charge rates: Type 1 (110V): ~6rph; Type 2 (220V): ~30rph; Type 3 (DC fast charge): ~100rph. [r = range miles] To NJ with the car we were sold - it would turn the normal ~6-hour trip into a ~12-hour trip without DC charging.On 31 May, a friend (who owns 2 Bolts) checked out our new purchase and noted the car had no type 3 charging capability. Immediately, my wife contacted the sales person, Zachary. She expressed her disappointment and wanted to discuss the remedy. She got a call back from his manager, Jim, who started attacking almost immediately. At one point he told her to stop talking and to listen to him. When asked why we were not told that the car did not have DC charging, his response was “You never asked.” When she asked what recourse we had, he said there were no laws allowing us to return the car and that we should not stop payment on the check. When the call ended she contacted our attorney to find out if we could return the car as we felt we had been deceived and mistreated.After hearing our sales experience story our attorney said we had the right to reject the car. The relevant law is Title 11 M.R.S.A. §2-602 and Section 6.5 of the Attorney General’s Publication: Consumer Rights and the Defective New Vehicle. Essentially, we were covered because the car was “defective” due to the fact that it was not fit for the purpose for which it was purchased--i.e., taking lengthy trips not just local driving.Our attorney took over from there. There were several days of legal wrangling with their attorney. We made it clear to our attorney we were NOT going to ever own a car with the Ira Jack logo on it.I started shopping Bolts elsewhere and learned more bad news. Zach had told us the price presented us was set by Chevy and it could not be negotiated. I learned the exact same car was $2000 less at their competitor’s dealership.Ira Jack’s attorney wrote up the initial release including a clause that we could not communicate on social media or anywhere else about our poor experience. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back. We were not going to be “gagged” from telling our story to educate others. We sent back our version without that clause and stated there would be no further negotiation. They accepted the deal, and by day’s end the general manager, Mike, had come to take back the car. My wife spoke with Mike and told him our side of the story. He was very professional, listened well and reacted little. He apologized several times on behalf of the dealership for the bad experience.Here are the key points we want to share:1. Not all Bolts have DC charging capability. Be sure to ask about this explicitly since it’s not listed prominently in the specs.2. It’s against the law for salespeople to sell you something that will not work for your expressly intended use. So be clear about your intent.3. Be wary if you see all stellar reviews for any organization. People are too often gagged.We eventually purchased a 2017 Premiere Bolt with low miles from the Pape dealership in South Portland with more features for a much lower price. The experience there was great. They even tried to find us additional rebates on a new car. The sales person, Jeff, was courteous, straightforward and respectful. We had a great overall experience there--a tremendous contrast to what we suffered through at Ira Jack.Not sure if this experience has caused changes at Ira Jack. Their attorney told our attorney we were the first, in his career, to NOT sign the release with the “gag order” language.

Was treated very well by the whole group over here 😁 They found me exactly what I needed for my family at a great price. They also made sure I would get to have my new ride in my drive for Mothers Day, I wasnt even expecting that!!

I had been searching for used car dealers that sold cars in the $2000-$3000 range, but could not find one in the area until I came across Jacks Value Outlet, which is part of Ira Jack Chevrolet. They sell fixer uppers (sold as-is) and bargains (stickered, 30-day warranty, etc.). I was able to buy one of their bargains, a 2009 Hyundai Accent with 149,000 miles on it for almost $1000 less than the KBB value. Chris, the salesperson, was professional and helpful during the entire process. No pressure to purchase any extras, which I appreciated.
