This is such a nice coffee shop! I feel as if it is very open with different types of seating inside and out and the staff is super welcoming and friendly! The coffee and pastries are good and I love the comfortable atmosphere! Definitely a great spot to hang with friends, bring your dog, or study!
This is one of my favorite coffee spots in the Sacramento area. The espresso has great flavor and the people who work there are always nice. You can also bring your dogs inside to order and sit outside on the patio which is nice. I recommend the vanilla latte.
September 2021. My ongoing coffee shop tour continues! Tupelo Coffee & Roasting is located on busy Elvas Avenue in East Sacramento. The parking lot is designed for several businesses. The outdoor seating area is spacious and has bright red awnings. Inside seating is good. I enjoyed a delicious Cafe Mocha. The barista was friendly and provided excellent service!
They have my favorite coffee in all of the county and part of that is nostalgia because I have been coming here since I was a kid. Their blended blanco coffee is still my favorite
Had a cup of tea. Nice cafe
Yummy drinks!! Love the lattes here :)
Neat midtown location. In a cool little shopping area. Really good coffee and food. Very friendly staff.
Coffee is the best. Not acidic as some places can be and the quality of ingredients is evident. The chocolate in the mocha is also divine!
Came in ordered almond mocha, everything was good. Got my order walked outside, tried coffee really liked it came back inside to ask for the name of my drink since I really liked it. Right away she was rude and ordered me to out my mask on!!!! 🤔 are you kidding me there are so many people around me without a mask and I just came in for 10 seconds to ask for the name of the drink and you’re going discriminate me? it’s a no go for me anymore. Segregation, when every lid that goes on your cups the girls touches them inside with her bare hands without washing or wearing gloves. 1/10
I like sweet drinks. Their Thai mocha is pretty good!Good service. They’ll bring the drink to you. Staff is friendly as well.I can’t complain.
If you’re okay with a little background music while you’re working or studying, I’d highly recommend this place. I like the coffee here.Of course it is not super cheap price for the coffee but it is reasonable. You get a nice place to stay in, lovely atmosphere, friendly service and decent coffee after all.It is 5 minutes away from Sac State (without traffic). Many people come here to study which is nice, you wont feel like you’re bothering anyone just because you stay here a little bit longer than usual.
I’ve thrown away my last coffee from this place… It’s low-key overpriced garbage sometimes, and other times they really deliver; it’s ALL about who’s behind the counter, and today was NOT their day…Neither of these ladies knew how to pull a proper espresso shot, and I’ve noticed a trend in who they’re hiring lately; it has gone straight downhill since the remodel. The Vietnamese I ordered tasted like watered down Folgers, and the mocha was all but undrinkable. I drank about 1/3 of mine on my walk home and chucked it in the trash… ~$13.XX down the drain. The crew that usually works the weekends does a good job! I’ll just have to keep an eye on the calendar before walking over.
Really cute coffee shop in sacramento. Got their bowl of soul. Definitely recommend.
Best coffee in Sacramento. A great place to work and study. This place has power outlets everywhere.
Super delicious pastries and specialties. Friendly service and clean facilities. Definitely a good place to stop and recharge or start your day.
I have been to Tupelo several times. The coffee and atmosphere are good and I really enjoy the bowl of soul. The less than 5 stars is for the lengthy wait. I dont think Ive ever gotten my beverage in under 15 minutes (to go or stay).I recommend Tupelo if you have time and are having a leisurely day. If you need to be somewhere, you may want to consider visiting this establishment another time.
They have thai coffee! And it was actually amazing which is so rare to find. Also my sibling who doesnt usually have anything to drink at cafes (hates coffee, tea, soda) normally finds hot chocolate somewhat okay at best and actually fully enjoyed their hot chocolate that they got so thats a win for the day. Glad that the cafe also had naked juice brand juice and the staff was willing to work with us (and yes we asked when there was low traffic and we came by after a very long day where I had to have some coffee in my system and didnt plan accordingly for my sibling so thats a my bad on me)
Friendly staff, great cup of Americano.Nice natural wood tables.
Cashier was wonderful and helped me pick out a beverage as I was unsure.
I honestly think this is the best coffee in town. Your baristas are like experts when it comes to my morning coffee:)
Good cold brew and Vietnamese coffee latte.
Nice atmosphere and a unique menu.
This place holds a special spot in my heart - I’ve never been to any other cafe or eatery in general that screamed “home” so much. Not to mention that the drinks are delicious - blended blanco, bowl of soul? I guess I’ll have diabetes. I think the single best part is that they come and bring you your drink after you leave the counter. Sounds simple and stupid, but there’s something sweet about it. I don’t feel pretentious the way I might in a similar type of place.
Love this place! Come get a coffee today!
Great little neighborhood coffee shop the company roast their own beans so its got a niche good customer service
This has never been one of my favorite coffee shops in town (partly because Im not a fan of the volatile and generally unlikeable founder, but also because its just kind of strip mall-y and not very cool), but now I have more of a reason to skip it when Im in the area. The indoor seating feels almost as crowded as it did before the pandemic, even though there is some outdoor seating available, and the air has that hot and stuffy atmosphere that lets you know the ventilations not great. Most people indoors were not wearing masks, whether they were actively drinking or not. You can get your cuppa somewhere else.
The customer service was really bad. They made me a coffee and it tasted like water. They refused to remake it.Don’t recommend it to anyone!
They have nice service interesting choices of coffee.
Love the Keroac, cant get it anywhere else!
Delicious iced coffee.
The atmosphere is colorful and relaxed with plenty of seating inside with surfaces to work on. They keep the joint clean too, which is nice. Awesome menu of drinks and good selection of snacks. My latte was legit and kept me going through several hours of work. Definitely worth my drive and definitely coming back!
First time. Ordered a mocha and it was great. Wasnt a fan of the interior but that shouldnt detract from the quality of coffee and great service. If you need a power outlet they have many. If i am in the area i will be back!
Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. There was quick and friendly service. Bring your appetite because portions are large.
Good people fast service
I actually was at the Article clothing great price, excellent stuff
Love love this place. Awesome coffee and great customer service every time. They make high quality coffees for those who are picky. Highly recommend. I don’t live close but I still make it by once a week.
Service was great and so as foods.
Tasty, hearty cup of coffee served by attentive staff. Nice patio out front. Students from nearby Sacramento State University and local neighborhood residents occupy most of the spacious indoor space.
Really dope coffee shop. Tucked back away where you might not notice it, but this place was amazing. Grabbed the Kerouac, and it was epic. Treat yourself to this eclectic hipstery coffee joint. It doesnt disappoint.
I always love this place for a sit down coffee house. Great coffee, mom and pop feel with a great sitting area to chat or work!
Walked all the way from Indiana, it felt like, so when I waltzed in to find a drink called the Kerouac, I was overjoyed with the serendipity. Marvelous scape, relaxing vibe, friendly staff, wonderful beverages. Thanks for the welcoming time!
Robust house coffee tasty, served at right temp to sip and enjoy. Outside patio convenient to catching winter sun and warm up.
Great selection of tea. Food was good. Great service. A fresh and flavorful food.
Great service and great drinks!
The bowl of soul is amazing!
Great coffee shop to study, work or just hang out. Drinks are always made fresh and taste great.
It is much more than a coffee drinking place and I always experience a very relaxed time here.
3.5 stars -Coffee is good but on the pricey end. I love the work space available and the music they play. Theres a lot of natural light that comes in and the staff are very courteous. I wish they had better Thai and Vietnamese coffee, but the Bowl of Soul and Guatemala blend is really yummy.
We totally enjoyed their coffee. Good roaster and the staff were super friendly. I would recommend a couple of umbrellas for the patio in summer.
You know the best thing about this place is that it is right on the Union Pacific railroad main line south. You can sit and drink coffee and watch trains.A little on the high priced side compared to my neighborhood coffee shop but that comes with the upscale atmosphere they provide.
Loved the vibe. Their coffee was eclectically crafted- full of flavor and aromatic. The place was full of patrons which indicates the growing popularity!
The coffee was alright, I had a pour over that tasted like it could have been brewed in a regular coffee pot... The outside of the place looks like it used to look nice, but the wysteria hasnt been taken care of and subsequently died off. The staff was nice and why I even gave 3 stars.
If your looking for a quiet place to study, this is not the place. Music is played loud all evening and chairs squeak on the floor whenever someone gets up. Smokers are right outside the door to assault your senses upon entry or exit. The only convenience is that they are open late, but I could sit in my car and have much more peace and quiet to study. On the other hand, this would be a great place for a quite conversation with friends. However, my chai latte was served lukewarm.
Delicious coffee and a super chill environment. Ive spent many long afternoons there doing my homework. There isnt a ton of seating so I am guessing you have to show up early to snag a good spot.
I want to give this place a higher review. But the wifi is always awful. Its not just my laptop either. Ive used several different computers here over the years. I keep coming back for the convenience, but if there was a place as close to my house I would go there. Ive heard a lot of negative things about the owner, so Im guessing hes just too cheap to buy the kind of professional-grade router a cafe needs. Writing this review in the hopes that hell finally fix the issue, because I do generally like the atmosphere and the employees.
Best hot chocolate in Sacramento by far and is definitely worth trying. Their coffee tastes pretty great too. Customer service can be a hit or miss at times, but would still recommend going for the coffee and or hot chocolate.
This is a nice friendly cafe perfect for studying or catching up with a long lost friend. They have indoor and outdoor chairs as well as couches for relaxing, and the temperature is nice inside when its hot out. Theyre dog friendly and have functional wifi. My only suggestion is it would be nice to have self serve water.
Great selection and have free wifi. Good environment to work in.
Best ice mocha on the west coast.I cant speak for anything except the ice mocha, because that is the only thing I ever order. I travel a lot, all over the west coast, Hawaii, Chicago, the north east. This is the only coffee that I visit when I am in town. I get teased by my wife all the time, but i will drive 20 minutes just to get an ice mocha from Tupelos.
The pastries are pretty good here and everyone enjoys the coffee, which they put a lot of effort into the presentation of. They actually serve you with glass plates and glasses so it feels way more ornate here than say at Starbucks or Petes
First time here, ordered the Mocha Thai, which had hot chocolate, coffee, and condensed milk. I guess should have expected it to be sweet but wasnt a fan. Will take my chances with a hazelnut latte next time if they had it, otherwise, a pretty solid coffee shop.
Good coffee. Friendly service. Fair prices, esp if you want to pay 3.25 for cup of coffee. Remember 25 cent cup?
I love the atmosphere and the coffee at Tupelo but finding a parking spot anywhere close is almost impossible! Im sure theres some time of day where parking is a little easier but its never been a time that Ive visited. However when my best friend comes up to visit from Bakersfield she always wants to go to Tupelo.
Cute place to work when its not crowded. Dogs allowed. This is a perk for me but some people may not like it.
Has an amazing atmosphere. The employees are so sweet and theres a good variety of drinks to choose from. Patio for outdoor sitting and very large indoor seating thats spaces out so you can have some privacy. Would definitely recommend checking it out.
Local goodness and college crowds.Pros:++Great espresso drinks beverages+Tasty muffins+Friendly baristas+Some good unusual creations+Electricity outlets everywhereCons:- Despite being expensive, drip coffee can be not so fresh sometimes, unlike Temple.UPDATE: I was surprised today when I visited that theyve changed the coffee beans they use for their house coffee. Im much happier with the new one. Its finally up to the standard.
An awesome place to have coffee and work. Their pastries are delicious just like their drinks. I had Bowl of Soul and it was yummy!
Great coffee amid a laid back vibe. Parking is tough but dont give up! The fresh roast coffee, fresh staff, and even fresher tunes are worth the trouble! My fave: the Vietnamese. Yum!
Excellent coffee and a pleasantly dark interior. Offering up some amazing coffee and teas by skilled baristas. Im an 80s kid and I love playing the retro games on that huge bulky TV in the back. Always nice to sit in the front window to watch the world go by. Excellent spot and excellent coffee!
Great place to go if you wanna study and enjoy a local cafe.
When I asked for a dark roast they said they had it and proceeded to serve medium roast. They lied but just worth noting that they do not serve dark roast here. Apparently this is a place to go for specialty drinks but not a place for a plain cuppa Joe. My partner really enjoyed the Bowl of Soul.
The wifi is really bad here so idk if its a great place to study if you need internet access to work. The drinks are ok.
I love this cafe because of the good prices, wifi, and service. The number of outlets is great and the seating accommodates plenty of people. You can literally spend hours there without being bothered.
The mocha thai is very sweet so I opted for the regular mocha with almond milk and was not disappointed! This is a great place to study with free wifi, casual, quiet environment, and ample parking. I will definitely be back!
This place has great coffe and for the time stayed in Sacramento we went every single day that we were here. I also would find that the food is good to you have some pastry and bagels.
Very comfortable friendly sweet coffee house and I liked the green tea, but my friend liked Cup of Soul. I certainly going back to next time in town.
Amazing hot chocolate ☕️ 5 stars ⭐️
Nice place quit very clean no mess on floor bathroom very clean ...coffee right on tempatureAnd Ill be back come vist
The Kerouac is fantastic. Make sure you pronounce it correctly or they wont make it.
Really nice place to study. There is great coffee, open space, and some outdoor seating if the weather is nice. Kind of off the beaten path so it never feels extremely crowded.
Best Lavender Latte ever, its a must try! I love the energy of this place super chilled and the interior is sunny and very work/study friendly :)
Worst coffee I’ve had in a loooong time. Uber expensive, lukewarm and espresso was weak. I live in SF and the price I paid for a latte here ($6!!!) of such poor quality was what I would expect if I were at SFO. So underwhelming. You can get a great fabulous quality latte at Sightglass in SF for around $5 and same at Temple in downtown Sac. So sad because this place use to be really good if I recall. Won’t be back and I feel like I should’ve just gone next door to Starbucks! 😣
They really need to do something about the Sac State students camping out, getting their coffee from Starbucks, etc.If Im a paying customer, Id like a place to sit. But if every table is being taken up by students with Starbucks, Subway (hell, one night someone had a full In-N-Out spread), etc. then Im going to go somewhere else.
The Mocha was absolutely superb! First time Ive ever been here and will definitely come again!
Delicious coffee. Best place around.
