They did my oil change but found two lights out and had to get it approved due to it being a work car. They called me when it was approved and I went in and they repaired both of them quickly. They were all so nice and accommodating! I will definitely follow up with them.
My car was towed here after it would not start. I was contacted almost immediately by someone at Pep Boys to discuss the problems the car had been experiencing. They explained to me what to expect as they inspected the vehicle and how much it might cost. Upon inspection, they quickly discovered the issue was a mild problem with the wires hooked up to the battery. They quickly fixed it, gave me a call, and informed me they would not charge me because the solution was so simple. I am incredibly grateful they did not take the opportunity to upcharge me when it was not needed. I will definitely go to them in the future for car concerns.

So, I got a blowout and was unable to get across the street. I walked to the store and explained how my car was a few feet away from their store but I couldn’t make it in. They refused to help me and offered to call a tow. A lot of places go above and beyond to help their customers. This is not one of these places, do yourself a favor and drive a half a block north and one block East over to the other guys who actually care about customer satisfaction!
Amazing costumer service and very honest with what you need done and will always do their best to help you not pay a ton for the services. I trust almost no one with my car and I fully trust this shop. I recommend this location to anyone! Great job.
Clinton was awesome! He took great care of my BMW gave me a 30% discount on my oil change, also gave me a rebate for my new tires. They did a great job on the alignment, and made sure I was getting the best tire for my money. He took his time looking in their computer system to ensure I got the best deal, and replaced all 4 tires. He had his team do a full inspection on my vehicle and even turned off all of the dashboard alarms, and reset my cars computer system to show the update maintenance they performed. Which my own BMW dealer didnt even do the last time the took care of my car that I spent over 3,00 0 dollars in repairs and maintenance. By far my best experience at an auto repair shop. Thank you so much! I will definitely be coming here from now on!

One star is as low as it goesMy rear tires from another vendor were wearing horribly on the inside and the rear camber was noticeably out. After paying for the alignment $120, I was told “they got a much adjustment out of the rear camber as possible” I could see with my eyes that the rear camber was unchanged. I performed alignments for nearly twenty years before switching professions and know what to look for. One week later, I took the car to Alignment Specialists. They told me the rear camber was way out of adjustment but were able to make the necessary adjustments using the factory adjusters. Anyone who has performed alignment will see from the attached picture that the camber adjustment was far from being at its maximum adjustment.
Quick, clean, and great service! Oil change was timely and they were not pushy about any other services. Will return.

I came to get a TPMS sensor replaced, since the website says its $18. I was charged over $80. I would have just forgotten about it and accepted that I was scammed by their scummy marketing, but the next day, the sensor broke again. I brought my car back to get it checked. Despite the $80 I paid originally that did not fix my problem, I was charged the normal $15 TPMS reset fee to fix their problem. I also brought in spark plugs to be replaced, just so I wouldnt need to wait for them to be ordered. I was told that they were not supposed to use outside parts. Go somewhere that will fix your problem without scamming you.

Came in for an emissions test, worked with Bruce who was rude - when I got to the at the front of the line, I wasnt acknowledged for 5 minutes. When I was acknowledged, Bruce was curt and didnt make eye contact. Before I came in, though, I scheduled my visit, which took 15 minutes for them to figure out for some reason - eventually I had to speak to the manager just to get something on the books.While I was there, I verified that they would also do a VIN inspection, as required for my car registration. I was ensured that they would, but 20 minutes into the emissions test, they told me that I needed to provide them with the VIN inspection form, and that they wouldnt print one. Oh, and it wouldve cost an additional $15 for the VIN inspection.This resulted in having to cancel my DMV appointment (later the same day), only to find out after the fact that VIN inspections are performed automatically with emissions tests (i.e., the VIN inspection form isnt/wasnt necessary).Overall, staff are unknowledgeable and unfriendly.
I was having problem with battery and they were able to get me right in and replace battery and fix a terminal connection... I was more than distraught and Clint and Andy were the best with the best customer service EVER...I will continue to come here for my auto service needs
Im only giving this a one star because I got a great deal on my tires and the store manager was amazing. However putting that aside, my engine light was on and it took almost all day to diagnose. They called me and told me it was fixed. The very next day the light was back on, brought it back and this time I didnt deal with the store manager. The guy told me that what they had previously fixed wasnt the issue, they have to diagnose it again.So I let them and they call me back and I was quoted almost $900.00 for a secondary valve to be replaced and then being told it may not even fix it. I had already given them almost $2000.00 including the tires. I seeked for a second opinion because I knew something was not right. I found out the actual reason for my engine light was because some wires were not plugged in. It amazes me that it took them two diagnostics and then to be told they are not sure of the issue or the work they would put in will actually fix it. Isnt that your job? I took my car to a real mechanic and the issue was found right away.I was scammed by them because the work they did was not necessary at all. Please go somewhere else if you need work on your car.

After scheduling an appointment to install a tire Pep Boys cancelled. Instead of performing the service as scheduled they tried to push it nearly a week. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Luis C! He saved my four winter wheel mounts when installing my summer tire set on my VW GTI. The wait was longer than expected, but it was no fault of the mechanic who wasn’t expecting steel wheel mounts. Alignment is $120, which was needed for wheels and tires only six months old. Granted I haven’t had an alignment for over a year. Well done!
Literally I came in for an oil change without an appointment and they were full. That’s fine. But like before he told me they were full, he was on his computer and then made a phone call and just had me waiting. He definitely could have had that 15 second conversation sooner. So rude in my opinion.
If I could rate them below a 1 I would. But a 1 is to high. Had a flat tire and stuck in SLC on a Sunday. They were the only shops I could find open. How long does it take to fix a flat tire. 1 flat tire? Needless to say we didn’t get our tire fixed because it would take to long. So going forward I would never go into Pep Boys again.

These guys are professional, and fast. I had my power steering pump blow on a Saturday and a bad leak. They got me in and out in a few hours despite it being a weekend afternoon. Every time I go in theyre helpful, tell you how it is, work with you, and never push anything that you didnt come in for.
Just went in to Pep Boys yesterday to get my tire patched up. The boys were able to get me in and out with speed and Clint went above and beyond with his customer service!
I didn’t even have a chance to get work done- stopped in at the end of the day which I know was annoying, but it was a Sunday and I got a flat tire I was desperately hoping to have patched. The guy at the register didn’t even acknowledge me when I walked in until I saw him and walked over. I asked politely if anyone could help me though I know they were closing soon or at least help with air for my tire. He told me that his mechanic had to go to dinner and get cleaned up. I said “even though you’re still open” and he dryly just said yeah and that was it. A little customer service goes a long way.

I was in the a dire situation when, while I was driving over a rocky dirt road under construction, the front undercarriage of my car was practically ripped off, and was hanging by a few bolts.I was worried that it might come off while I was driving and cause a bad accident.Luckily, Pep boys in sugarhouse was nearby and I slowly drove in to their spacious parking lot.I was impressed with how clean and organized they were when I walked in.Reed greeted me and was anxious to help me in any way he could.He was friendly, courteous, and kind as he offered to walk out to my car with me. After taking a look he was more than happy to remove the undercarriage.All the while he explained everything he was doing and he even made sure that nothing else was damaged so that I could drive safely.The professional and courteous respect I received in my time of need, will definitely bring me back to PepBoys in Sugarhouse.Thank you Reed, and the other friendly employees!

I have had an awful experience with Pep Boys and we will not be back.Last week I made an appointment for a wheel and tire install of our snow tires for the winter season on our 2018 Subaru Outback. We went with Pep Boys because we bought tires with them after a flat tire in August and were sold a lifetime alignment at that time.At the time of making the appointment, I asked for a wheel and tire mount plus an alignment check to use our life time alignment (note our snow tires are on their own set of wheels). On 12/2/2020, after waiting 1.5 hours, I was told I was all set. While checking out, I asked if they had to do an alignment - Nick said “oh yeah, it was fine” despite this not being anywhere on the paperwork. I asked for the paperwork with the current measurements (as I have been giving at every other mechanic) and he stated it was not usual to do so if the car didn’t need an alignment. After waiting for 1.5 hours- I decided to go home and call a manager the following day.I called on 12/3 and spoke with Bruce (assistant manager) to ask if an alignment check had been done on my car the day previously. After looking in the system, he said if it had been done it would be on the paperwork and told me when the earliest I could bring it in would be- he was able to rush my alignment that afternoon.A week later, the TPMS had not yet registered (I paid 15 dollars for the sensors to be reset), so I brought the car back in on 12/10. Nick helped me again. They checked the car and told me “there are no sensors, your computer is not reading them”. I asked “That is strange, as this will be our 3rd season with these tires and they have registered previously”. I was continuously told “there are no sensors” until I was able to pull up my receipt of purchasing the tires in 2018 and show them that I bought these wheels and tires with sensors. I asked multiple times, what would be the reason they wouldn’t register be, my question was never answered and I felt I was being talked down to by Nick.Bruce looked into the TPMS system within pep boys and said that my sensors should be 315 MHz and the ones I had were 433 MHz so they are incorrect. He said he would check with his manager and have him call me tomorrow.Upon a quick google search, it seems the 2018 Outback can possibly read both 315 MHz and 433 MHz. I am unsure if Pep Boys system is outdated or they just unable to figure out this information. It is also strange as the Outback is a very popular car in Utah so I would assume they have dealt with this before.Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service and overall lack of knowledge of these “mechanics”. I am shocked that a business would run with way with the liability that’s accompanies working on cars.We will not be returning to pep boys.

If I could bring my experience as 0 Stars I would. I took my car in to have an issue with the air-conditioning diagnosed. I drive a 2007 Honda Civic. They told me that diagnosing the issue would be $79.99. Could have been my first clue that they were not above board. I sat down and waited approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The mechanic asked me to come back into the shop they had my car up on a lift. They pointed to one of my system that had a pulley and proceeded to tell me how smooth that was running. Then they point to crankshaft and say do you see how that wheel has a little bit of wobble to it? At this point I did not see any wobble so I just agreed and I said I guess so. They then proceed to tell me that because of that I am hearing the air conditioning making noise and my whole engine is shaking ( by the way I never said my whole car was vibrating on my engine was shaking) there was an additional load being put on the engine and basically that my car is in really bad shape. They told me I had two options one would be to trade the car in or to put an entire new engine into the car. I took the car to my regular mechanic who told me that there was nothing wrong with my engine and that my fan motor on my air conditioner might be going out or I might be low on freon but not by very much. Do not think take your car here they do not know what they are doing. And especially dont go here if youre a woman because it seems to me that they believe women are stupid and wont go get a second opinion.

I have been bringing my cars here since high school (20 years)! Appreciate the honest approach and education that comes along with the service. Yesterday I dropped off my truck and key because the key wasnt turning in the ignition. The service team called and explained they could replace the chamber for several hundred dollars but suggested I go to the dealership and get a new key cut off the VIN for less than $100. They even went so far as to tell me to take my ID and title so the dealership could assure that I was the owner. I followed the advice and $32 later, I am good as new.This level of detail and kindness COST Pep Boys potential revenue but guaranteed that I will come back whenever I need service on my vehicles.

They told me I needed new tires and brakes and, all together, about $1,000 worth of work. Thank goodness I went somewhere else to have this work done as it turns out I need NONE of it.
Went in to try and change my battery. Chris was absolutely no help. I needed to use a wrench to get it off, but he said they had none for me to use. Outside theres a sign (see picture) saying they have tools to use, when I pointed this out, he didnt respond and ignored me like I was impeding on his time. What a jerk. They didnt even have my battery in stock anyway, so I wasted an hour driving home and getting my own tools.
After having issues with the Riverdale location refusing to honor a $20 off coupon I decided to call the Salt Lake pep boys which I normally go to and Clint honored the coupon even though the service wasnt done at his location. Thank you for fixing the issue😊👍
Got quoted 3k for a clutch job. Took it to an actual mechanic and he said 1600. Thanks for wasting my time and towing. Shouldve taken it elsewhere originally.

We weren’t sure of the exact details of the wheels we needed and the team there went above and beyond to assist us with selecting the right sized wheels for our vehicle. Made an appointment to have my battery replaced. Verified they would work on my car as it’s a bit tricky to get to the battery. They said absolutely. Got there, pulled in then the “mechanic” said he was too scared to change the battery. They refused to do the service. Absolutely useless people at this location! Then to add insult to injury these idiots couldn’t figure out how to jumpstart my vehicle so I could leave.
Awful service. Staff was condescending and rude. I’ve never written a review before, but that was standout bad.

I got a flat tire at 7pm on a Saturday. I called up this location because it was literally the only place open in the valley. Bruce answered and told me to come on in and they would see what they could do for me. Fortunately, I just had a nail in my tire, and it hadn’t torn, so it was a quick fix. I very much appreciate Bruce and the team staying a bit later than usual to help me out—they even put my tire back on the car for me!
I have been coming here about 6 months now and every visit has been amazing. Bruce has been there all but one of the times and has always gone above and beyond to help me they also always do such a great job taking care of my vehicle. He has amazing customer service and that’s very rare to find these days. Even if I was in another pep boys parking lot I would pay for my car to get towed to this location. They have made a customer for life.
Well, I bought tires here less than a year ago. They are still under warranty. One of my my tires got a bubble on the sidewall, so I came in with my receipt showing the date I bought the tires and the valid warranty on the tires. The employee wanted to take a look, so we walked outside with him. First thing he does is bust out his vape and start puffing off of it on the walk to the car, saying well youre probably SOL hahaha in between drags. Then proceeds to tell us that its not under manufacturers warranty (since when does a manufacturers defect not fall under such a warranty?!) and rudely tries to sell us four new tires that we dont need. Dont waste your time with this rude, unprofessional business. Just drive right on by and go to a big o. Trust me on this one.
I had a really good experience with this Pep Boys. I had gotten a battery from them about six months ago but it turned out to be a dud and after being accidentally drained by a dome light would not charge at all (tried two different chargers). I didnt have a receipt but they had the purchase on record at the store and replaced it without hesitation. The whole process took only minutes. I will definitely go there again. Plus, the cashier and service team helped answer some questions I had about dielectric grease.

I hate coming here. The people who work the register are usually awesome and helpful, but their manager is a menace. Hes grumpy and gets irritated when you ask him questions or in general, look his direction. I live a couple blocks away, but I gladly go a few miles further to avoid this place
DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!I bought tires around a year ago and they were supposed to have 40,000 miles. I paid around $600/$700 for 4 tires and an alignment which was a good price and the service was great. After installation, the technician told me that my camber sits weird but it shouldn’t affect the car or tires and if anything bring it back. I get my oil changed and my tires rotated from the local Honda dealership, I watch them rotate the tires through the glass windows because I usually don’t wanna pay for an Uber just to come back an hour later.During my oil change and tire rotation today the technician from the dealer sent me pictures of the tires balding on the inside with the wiring poking out. The tires had about 22k miles on them or HALF of the guaranteed life. I took the car in and after taking a look at it they were determined that the tires hadn’t been properly rotated. How could this happen if I’ve seen the tires being rotated every time I get my oil changed? After telling them this they said it’s an alignment issue and told me I should get an alignment done EVERY 6 months. I’m no mechanic but that’s bs. I spoke to the “manager” Clint who then told me my cars owner manual should say that an alignment is necessary EVERY 6 months. I searched the manual, and found no such thing. Search up a 2007 Acura TL Type-S manual and let me know if you find that in the 356-pages because I certainly didn’t.I’m planning on taking the manual back to him and letting him find it himself.What started out as a great relationship with this shop turned into a nightmare. I got an alignment done a year ago when I bought the tires. I get it checked every-time I get an oil change and there has never been an issue. I understand it may be the tire/car manufacturer, but it seemed like they were trying to find an easy way out.First it was the lack of tire rotations and then it was alignment and then it was that I didn’t get an alignment done every 6 months.Save your money for better service somewhere else, I’d usually go to them since their prices were the best but I can see they lack in customer service to make up for it. Hell, search up their “headquarters” it can’t even average 3 stars.Save yourself the headache of having to go through something like this only to find out you can’t even talk to corporate because they’ll probably treat you worse.
Just got done with an oil change that was supposed to come with a tire rotation.They said they couldnt rotate my tires because they were too low... Which they arent, but any way, I still paid for it and didnt get it.Gentleman at the front was good, but its insane to pay for something you dont get.Dont go here, just like any other scam you hear about auto dealers sadly.Makes me miss my uncle fixing my car so I know dont have to consistently worry about getting screwed.
This is the place is to for unnecessary quotes and patronizing service.I went in to Pep Boys when I had a tire that wasn’t holding air, and they had just mounted the tires the week prior.A guy at the service desk looked at my tire quickly in the parking lot and said the problem was a patch that was leaking, and it was non-repairable. When I asked if someone could take a closer look, he immediately said no, there was no need. The only option was all new tires (I have AWD), and he’d be happy to provide a quote.He referenced how regardless of that tire, I would have need new tires “by the end of the summer”, which I found odd. Tires don’t wear by the season, and he had no knowledge of how much I drive my vehicle.He also mentioned talking to my husband about needing new tires soon. I’m unmarried, but my boyfriend as I use the same account. He had not talked to my boyfriend at any point about my vehicle.At this point, I was confused and put-off. I dropped off my car for a second opinion at another shop. Within a couple of hours, that shop had removed a nail in that tire and patched it at no cost.I called Pep Boys the next day and talked with Clint (I think he’s a service manager) to share my frustrations from the previous day.
SO RUDE. The guys that helped me was so rude he was short with me rolled his eyes and when I asked questions about the battery for my car he got all huffy like it was so hard to tell me I need to bring my old battery back so they can dispose of it. Never going back there.
