5-stars for the wonderful hospitality! I love how they went above and beyond when asked if they had vegan options. They have a couple of vegan options and one they recommended that was off the menu: a bagel sandwich with hummus, avocado, cucumbers, and veggies. It was good :) We also ordered a hummus toast, a vegan chocolate cookie, and 2 iced soy lattes. The place is so cozy and nestled in between a neighborhood. Overall, nice place with amicable staff.
I always have a great experience at Alchemy. They’ve always taken care of me and made me feel welcome. I usually don’t do anything special I usually get a latte or an Americano. The coffee tasted excellent. I’ve also occasionally had the pastries, scones, and quiche. All were solid. The service is awesome. The baristas are friendly and provided great service. They got a couple booths in that are great for working/studying.
I love coming here so far! They require masks, which is awesome. Their cold brew coffee and iced tea is excellent! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious too and come with fresh fruit. Yum!! It’s so reasonable priced here too. Cute inside and outside seating. Dog-friendly, as well. Love it and will be back!
Alchemy Coffee is a delightful little shop. Nothing in this place is cookie cutter and overall this shop gives off an earthy hipster vibe with a local feel, exactly what I was looking for. There’s even some beautiful plants inside to ponder at! There are certainly some fun areas to work on a laptop, read, or hang out, but on a busy weekend don’t count on getting a spot to sit. There simply isn’t enough seating, but if you do get a spot, I’d suggest sitting under the tree. How often do you get the best of the indoors and outdoors combined? If you’re up early in the morning, new to the area, and want to see what Salt Lake City has to offer, grab a coffee and then head to Liberty park or Sugarhouse park for a mind-resetting stroll. By this time you’re probably dying to know what my go to drink is, and lucky for you, I’ve giving away all my secrets today. My caffeinated beverage go-to and the drink I decided to sample on this fine day, was a cold medium latte. I flip back and forth between hot and cold lattes depending on the weather. u2028u2028Thanks Alchemy Coffee, I will be back!
Visiting my daughter and she likes this place. The people are very friendly and it has the funky vibe that is present in a local coffee house. My daughter loves the coffee you can buy in bags to brew at home. The breakfast sandwich is fresh and delicious. I usually want bacon or sausage on mine and meat is not available BUT I didnt miss it and it is better for me anyway.
Im not a coffee drinker, but my daughter is. We were very impressed by the high standards of quality f product and customer service!! I had the Matcha, and it was sooooooooo good!!! Very hipster place. The young ladies were very friendly. Our order was quick and correctly made! Place was super clean, and hand sanitizer was readily available upon entering the facility. We went to another coffee house yesterday and honestly it did not impress me...it was overpriced and underwhelming!!
This has long been my favorite go-to neighborhood coffee shop. Its on a little more quiet street, 17th, the vibe matches that. A little slower, a little more quiet, a little more secluded. The perfect place to curl up with a hot cup of joe and a good book for a few hours.
Pretty cool place, unique retro atmosphere. Avocado toast was great, well-seasoned. Cucumber slices on the side were a nice touch. Spicy chai was okay. Not a ton of flavor but it still hit the spot.
I totally recommend the Voldemort aka. he who shall not be named. LMAO due to copy right. People who work here are awesome creative and fun.
Love coming here to read and write, the service is always stellar and the ambiance is always what Im looking for. Earthy feeling, moody lighting. Try one of the Yerba Mate Lattes!
Alchemy coffee is the jam, jam and the cream cheese filling when it comes to local coffee shops. It is very eclectic and not your everyday coffee shop or Starbucks. Small locally owned (I believe or assume), and they have a decent amount of space in the back to work on homework or just get work done whatever it may be that you want some solitude to focus on.I love the lavender lattes and they have different options for non dairy milk. Some of which are... oat milk, coconut milk, almond milk, and soy milk! The options are great and the coffee never tastes burnt.Friendly staff and it is right next to the laundry Matt on 400. So if you’re doing laundry, definitely walk over, grab your favorite drink, and if the home decor store is open next door; check them out too! Not open super late, only until 6pm.
I recently went to Alchemy coffee based on a recommendation it was my first time at this coffee shop and the customer service was terrible the staff was very rude and the coffee was subpar. There are much better coffee shops in Salt Lake City with more pleasant staff. Avoid.
Fast and friendly service. Lots of seating inside and out. I enjoyed a very comfy arm chair while I finished a book. Dog friendly. Other customers got water for their dogs
Everytime I come here the service is fast and the coffee is delicious.❤☕
Awesome place for coffee! If you are looking for a coffee and you are in the area, this is your stop. Great drinks, great pastries, and great atmosphere. They have nice areas and chairs to hide out and get some work done as well as places for a quick little meeting. They even sell art here. This place is much more then just coffee and donuts. Alchemy coffee has a vibe and a style all it’s own. Defiantly a unique coffee shop for the salt lake area.
My newest favorite place to come work for the afternoon. Alchemy Coffee is a cozy spot with indoor and outdoor seating, coffee, tea, and pastries. I love the decor and vibe. People here seem to come here a lot and know each other. There are spots to work on a laptop, but a lot of people just come to hang out or read a book over a cup of coffee. This place is near my dog’s daycare so I decided to come here and work and was glad I did. It is my new go-to spot.
This place makes great breakfast sandwiches and a delicious sweet Chai.
An eclectic coffee shop with nice espresso and vegan friendly pastries.
Great coffee recommended by a friend. I decided it check it out, as I am from out of town. Nice seating outside and inside. Most of staff was nice except one gentlemen who was snarky and rude. Interestingly enough it seems people in SLC are rude and generally not nice. Funny, considering this is such a small city.
Awesome, cozy space. Great drinks and food. Fun open mic. As clean as an open mic can get!
Awesome atmosphere. Seating outside. No drive thru.
The atmosphere is amazing the coffee is just okay theres not much diversity
This place is Awesome for a cup and the staff go out of their way to make you feel like family
Always grateful for the service and wonderful atmosphere.
Got a latte and the milk was pretty overstretched, but still tasty!
If you’re a believer in constructive criticism, I have some WITH a five star rating because this is my Go To coffee shop ever since I moved to Utah almost 3 year ago. I haven’t been visiting lately because of personal reasons with Life. Anyways, I went their this morning to stock up on my favorite selections of whole bean to take home with me and I also ordered a small Alpenglow. I knew instantly that something wasn’t right, because it’s my favorite choice. Anyways it was like drinking an espresso, which I love but not my choice this morning. It was SUPER bitter to the taste. I brought it to their attention and we tried another brand. Much to my surprise it was just as bitter. I’m sure it was a simple mistake of maybe it was ground too fine or something to that nature. I hope next time I stop for a coffee that I don’t experience this again. Again it’s only constructive criticism with a 5 STAR. Peace!
I tried them for the first time a little over a month ago, and it’s safe to say i’m obsessed! it’s my new favorite go to!
Really great coffee; both the iced americano and cortado
Thank you for the honey 🍯 latte, and the sweet sticker! Alchemy is the best!
Great coffee. Not much food selection. Service is usually good
Amazing coffee and good vibes. Would definitely be my go-to spot if I lived in town.
Coffee was mediocre, the vibe inside was not welcoming.
Good coffee, nice ambience. Simple, small but can sit outside or inside,
The inside of this establishment makes me happy. Great interaction with the proprietor of this shop and staff alike. Alchemy is rocking a Rancilio spring lever espresso machine and it pulls deep shots with an extremely heavy body that will blow your mind. Anyone who loves their modern espresso needs to come here and see what its like when the skill of the person behind bar is absolute magic in the cup.
I was in yesterday For the 1st time in a long time and I had brought family with me that I havent seen in a while because we just love alchemy but the burista that served us was very rude and she was actually fighting with a customer to the point where we were uncomfortable and we had to walk out. Very disappointed
Great coffee really great decor!
Always an excellent staff and the pastries are the best. Coffee too!
Good coffee, with lots of vegan options, donuts, scones, brownies, etc.
Cool coffee shop with delicious Expresso drinks and breakfast sandwiches!
The atmosphere is really, really great here. Try the cold brew!
They have really great people working here, try the Billy Holiday if you like tea lattes.
You can always expect great service, and great coffee at Alchemy! Oh, and they’re bagel sandwiches are bomb.com!
Fun little spot love the decor.
Great service awesome coffee and loved the skull stuff they had for purchase!! Unique little shop I would recommend them to anyone!
It was my first time in Salt Lake City and I went to Alchemy Coffee. I live the setting and decor in this place! Lots of interesting decorations and plants within this small coffee shop. The staff working was very friendly and energetic... even visitors were friendly and entertained me with information about the city.
Excellent service and quality!
Had a pretty great smoothie, a lot of cool art for purchase
Filled me up in no time. The service was very helpful and observant. This place has a cool feel to it.
Consistently make a very nice flat white.
Love the decor, more importantly though - super good lattes. Deep, dark, rich, hints of dark chocolate. No burnt or bitterness.
Very friendly baristas and a unique atmosphere. (They also have matcha!)
Super nice people working here and coffee always great. Could use some more exciting food items (i.e, lackluster scones) but I just come for the coffee and a friendly greeting, both of which are 5-star.
Was having a rough day so I thought I would stop in for my favorite coffee spot in SLC. Splurged and got their b-sandwich on a croissant (they added amazing mixed fruit just for fun) with peppermint mocha. Fed my belly and my soul.Thank you!!
I love this shop, its cute and local and has an overall good atmosphere. The employees are incredibly nice and make sure your day is going good. This place definitely deserves a 5 star rating. Ive been going here for years and I havent found any other coffee shop that comes even close to being as good as Alchemy.
Love this little place! A sweet girl introduced me to it, and now Im hooked. Friendly staff, great theme, and fantastic brews!
Just discovered this cute little shop today. Their breakfast sandwich and chai are amazing! I definitely will be back. 🙏
Coffee r smaller but more expensive. Unless you know people. Kind of unfriendly place.
I love yall lol. Great coffee and great peeps!
Hands down my favourite coffee shop in SLC. The coffee is always fresh. The staff are always really nice and friendly.
Got a latte with oat milk & regular latte with whole milk. The coffee is too watery more like a drip coffee. Doesn’t taste or looks like latte at all. Also taste is bad. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are looking for a good latte.
Good coffee, for my taste it is on dark roast side. They have tea menu and sweet and savory pastries
Great coffee shop and I always get a sticker from the vending machine they have. I really like the place.
Nice little coffee shop. Ordered to stay, and they made a nice little leaf design in the mocha latte. Not too pricey for a coffee shop, and the beans used werent bitter like the large chain company which is very nice. Good place to go for a little warm brew. Buy local and support your local economy.
The fine folk at Alchemy Coffee make this a hub of SLC community not just your good cup of joe. Hands down the best flavor of java in the downtown SLC area. (I’ve been to all competitors). No burned starbucks junk here.Shae, their resident stunner gypsy queen, Erin, and Soren and Winnie (“No standing only dancing!” you’ll get it when you see her rad truck), are always focused on making this your best joe experience. Their customer service, genuine affection for their clientele, the intimate welcoming atmosphere, and the shop’s talented local artwork on the walls just can’t be topped.MENU: I highly recommend the regular or gluten free killer handmade fresh breakfast sandwich (mouthwatering!), and locally made pastries.Alchemy has helped me accomplish a 40 hour very difficult art piece on a painted helmet I had dreamed of for years. I’d be lost without them.Call to get current info on their weekly local music night (tuesdays?), as it may be on hiatus til our head Cheeto in Chief gets his head outta the sand to help us beat the ‘rona. And catch Soren’s Dali and Kandinsky influenced art work, (December 2020), especially the “ribbons of water, glass of water piece”.
This is some of the best coffee I have drinking in my entire life the customer serviced here is over and beyond exceptional and I am so grateful I came here God bless these people
I’m from Portland, Oregon—my family and I stopped here on our way on a road trip back from Denver, and I was blessed with the best latte I have EVER had. These folks know how to pull a shot better than what I’ve had anywhere in my home city. The employees were also sweet & friendly, and they have a fun local artist sticker machine! The kid in me couldn’t resist. Go to Alchemy.
Im vegan and I almost lost the hope in finding good vegan coffee in Riyadh ! But oh my God this place and their Almond Spanish latte is everrrrrrrrrything you are looking for 💔💔💔💔 the interior is so cool and the music is something else !The only thing I would like them to change is their working hours 😢 guys we need you to open in the morning, we want you to be our first stop before going to work please 💋
It was really worth it one of the best coffees I have ever had customer service was treated well will be back soon
They make pretty dang good coffee here. Pleasant atmosphere, kind staff, extra precautions for Covid.
Fresh great quality coffee!
Seemed like the edgy hipster hype spot without much substance. Pretty cozy inside, if not a little small - not a ton of options for seating either. The coffee is average, and there are the mandatory vegan pastry options as well. The staff is nice, which makes up for a good bit.
Great little coffee place. I love the atmosphere. The baristas are always friendly and fast. It is very dog friendly with a bowl of water outside the door, not to mention how most of the workers there coo over the dogs that come by. The prices arent bad at all. They also support local artists. Love love love this little place.
This place has the best coffee in all of salt lake city. Even thought I just tried 5-6 during my brief visit in town. The large 4 shot latte I ordered had a grainy texture of coffee with a smooth flavor of a latte making it a perfect buster of morning Glory. The sandwiches are perfectly placed with just the right amount of salad, dressing and eggs. A perfect breakfast for an early morning drive to the mountains. And then comes the interiors; a tiny mixture of ancient touches over the modernistic design of a studio. From colorful paintings to the hand crafted stones, this place will not disappoint you. So glad to have wandered to this corner of coffee heaven. Do visit this place if in SLC.
Ive been coming into Alchemy for 12 years and NEVER had a bad experience. Everyone is always so kind and welcoming. Tonight my partner and I came in and got drinks and vegan pastries - my partner could not stop raving about how good the espresso was and the iced coffee was the best Ive had in the city. Thanks for being the best neighborhood coffee shop!
Great little coffee shop. A little spendy--like all coffee shops are becoming, but they have a great selection of coffees and teas. The ladies working there are very friendly and always have a smile. Thank you for my daily caffeine fix with a smile.
Good coffee and food, nice people.
Will surely make a return trip. it has a nice feel to it.
