I usually go here for breakfast cause the Mez Waffle is delicious but I decided to try a newer lunch item today. The Turket Pesto Panini was so good I forgot to take a picture of it. Will definitely be visiting for lunch again soon! Get the Mad Delight while you are there 🙌👌

Stopped here before heading back to Idaho. Coffee was good and the food was delicious. I had a BLT wrap. My friend had turkey on a croissant. The gals working were friendly, laughing and having a good time. It was refreshing to see happy employees. I will definitely be back next time I am in Utah.

I would have thought I had written a review already about Mestizo Coffee House. Theyre a good local coffee shop, and so far as I know the only one between downtown and the airport. They have a good selection of hot and cold drinks, but the real stars are the baked goods. They make them fresh daily and are sold for very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and happy to give recommendations.

The best place for special coffee drinks and breakfast. The different beagles with eggs is a great portion. The prices are reasonable. You get amazing brownies and chocolate coffee treats with order. You can enjoy a enchanting environment with a gallery. Makes any day special!

Love this little coffee shop! Great selection and yummy coffee. Love the art and decor on the walls. My favorite part is when they give a little free pastry with the coffee.

If I could describe this place in two words, I would say its magnificent and wonderful. More than a coffee shop. The preparations for Halloween are wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful

Good food and decent drinks. Severely understaffed today. My wife and I ordered a coffee, a smoothie, a pita sandwich and a cheese Danish. We got the drinks within five to ten minutes. Got the sandwich after about 10-15 minutes. We waited over an hour for the Danish that was waiting on a shelf, then disappeared when I got our drinks. Ill never be a patron of this shop again.

Mestizo has some really great unique coffee drinks and treats, I have been going here several times a week since I moved nearby and everything these lovely folks create is amazing! I recommend the pistachio frappe (caffeine free) and the iced white mocha! As for food, cant go wrong with the brownies and the Ranchero breakfast bagel!

Very cool vibe. Egg sandwiches were amazing with some of the biggest crunching pieces of bacon. Enjoyed the latte too. There was a cool treat on our latte. Great place to check out for coffee and a hang out.

Traveling to salt lake. Staying across from this coffee shop. Two girls did coffee, drinks, and food. They killed it. Everyone was happy and the products were great. Highly recommend

I had been here before to meet a friend but I don’t know if I ever got to try their coffee until my coworker had her sweet daughter delivery us some all the way to the salon were at in Sandy (hashtag hair) from this downtown spot!Had something iced coffee like with oat milk and it was some of the best tasting coffee I have had, let me tell you!Big location, kind of hidden, close to a lot of apartments, over the freeway overpass, and close to a market I believe. Lots of art hung up here and it is creative looking for sure.

The coffee was average (pretty comparable to Starbucks) but the wait was so long. They give you a little piece of brownie with your drink. It wasnt that great either

Great coffee, awful customer service. This place is truly a gem in Rose Park but we will not be returning because of how bad we were treated on several different occasions. My husband wanted to place an order and the barista was very disrespectful and asked “what do you want?” Then she went straight from handling money to preparing coffee and orders with no gloves or without washing her hands. Super disappointing!

My throat is happy again! I went in with a sore throat and the amazing owner suggested Eucalyptus and honey tea...WOW. Best tasting and currently my favorite selection at this cute coffee. A MUST for any coffee or tea lover.

Found this little local coffee shop hidden as part of an apartment building, a little difficult to find, but definitely worth the effort. I appreciate the efforts they are making to taking temps & contact trace. The shop is peaceful & welcoming, the staff is super friendly as I expect at any coffee shop I go to. Price is about the same as most coffee shops, but the atmosphere (& it being a local business) would make it worth going even if they charged more.

A great coffee house, worth going out of your way for even. Their pastries are out of this world,!with a full vegan and wheat free selection farmed from different local bakers. Also, the only place I know where you can get a cup of joe in a mug for a buck! That’s right, $1.00

Hipster cool-kid vibes. Queer friendly. Pastry options could be better. Barista’s people skills could be improved. While I appreciate the serious covid precautions they take, I felt uncomfortable with my contact info for contact tracing be out in the open on the sign in.

I love this café so much! There is always local art on the walls and beautiful displays. There is plenty of seating and a large room for regular meetings/meet-ups. Its fun, its cute, the coffee is delicious.

The staff are always friendly, drinks are superb, and the art and décor is delightful.

Absolutely love this place. Beyond having good food and drinks the decor and spirit (for lack of a better word) are inviting, eccentric, and vibrant. Its a really great feeling to be able to support a local business that supports its community. There are open mic nights every Wednesday. Meet ups for tango on Sundays and lots of other community events through out the week. Local artists have their pieces on display and for sale. Thanks for bringing our community a clean and inviting space. Oh also if I didnt make it clear, the drinks and food are amazing. The staff is warm and friendly.

Use to love this coffee place, went in today and they wanted to check my temp. Such a turn off. People who think COVID is dangerous might as well stay home. I’m disappointed with this coffee shop and the world for thinking we need such “guidelines and precautions”. I will never go here again and or to any place that requires a temp check. Foolishness!!!

It is a very cultural place (sometimes they have events like poetry) and it is a big coffee shop to have a cozy study evening.The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because some of the staff arent friendly not to generalize the entire team I do have my good experiences :)On the picture I have matcha frappe.

I judge coffee shops by atmosphere and their ability to make a normal drip cup. The atmosphere is so interesting and artsy. Its a good place for groups! However a normal drip cup isnt the best and honestly tasted a bit sour. Other than that they have other good drinks.

This place is a really good hangout and has excellent service, its awesome to study in and is very relaxing to go to after a long day. Cups of coffee are delicious and pastries and meals are exquisite. Fun events on a calendar inside varying from open mics to meditation meet-ups

Mestizo coffee is the best coffee anywhere in the area! The staff are all awesome and kind. Its a great environment too! They have interesting art, and a cool lounge-type feel, and their drinks are the best! I recommend the Dirty Monkey! its a mocha latte, with banana flavor. :)

Great coffee shop, very and cozy with a little art gallery to look around in while you wait. My only knock is all their pastries come from Costco, so just something to be mindful of.

Ordered a blended dirty monkey and it was everything I ever wanted in a frappe. Not too sweet, not watery and the consistency held up - I didnt have to stir it to keep the ice distributed through the coffee 👌

Awesome place to chill with friends and hang out for a little bit. Maybe get some school work done. The barista was also pretty cool. They have an art exhibit and the drinks are good too.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to chill and looking to sip on something hot. 🤓

It is a very cozy coffee House in a quaint part of town. Service was good.Its a hipster environment with good music playing in the background lots of art on the walls and unique sitting. I only gave it four stars because the lunch selection is not very extensive.

Cute little coffee house that gave me the true Salt Lake City hipster vibe, and even had an open Mike night. This coffee venue was very quiet, and had plenty of places to chill or study with friends, or even as a solo outing. I ordered the Dirty Monkey (mocha with banana) and a BLT on croissant; they were both delicious!

The environment is amazing and chill, the baristas are friendly there are things here you can buys that look super cool and I’m about to try their blended Mexican mocha I’m super pumped for this, they are against the homeless one of the people here said and won’t let them have water, they do serve food here at this location including breakfast and lunch, the parking for here isn’t too bad it’s in a strange location at the apartment or condo complex but it makes for a super interesting environment. I did see a mouse which was not fun to see (After trying the Mexican mocha ) : The mocha taste super great, has chunks and is super dark which is great for a blend

Just stepped off the plane in Salt Lake City, looking for a place to kill some time until my meetings began. Googled coffee house and Mestizo came up. After doing a little research, I seen I can take the train straight from the airport. I walked in to an amazing environment, art on the walls, great music playing in the background. Order some coffee and a sandwich was I was pleasantly surprised. IT WAS DELICIOUS. This place is 5 stars, I recommend!

This place has a lovely artsy atmosphere. The windows provide very warm lighting and theres plenty of space to sit and enjoy yourself, from couches to tables to a piano in an offshoot room. The staff was wonderfully friendly too! Even gave us some recommendations on what to see in the city.

So glad they have finally opened back up! Coffee and breakfast sandwich we had were both so good!

Very eclectic and inviting ambience and friendly service. Decent (not spectacular) coffee. The veggie sandwich was not good at all. Not only did I get a heel bread slice, but the fixings were just mediocre. I couldnt finish it. For the price, Id hoped for a lot better.

Ive been coming here for a few years and I have generally enjoyed the experience of it.The food is delicious and the drinks are excellent. The atmosphere is inviting and I love the new expansion of the cafe. The only complaint I have is with the staff. I havent been here in a while and the last time I was here, there were friendly people behind the counter. The girl at the counter now has zero personality, always has her headphones on and is curt and abrupt. She has no customer service or interpersonal skills whatsoever. Talk to her and its like youre bugging her. I think until they replace her Ill go somewhere else. This place does not deserve such crappy personalities working within its colorful and happy interiors.

This business has yet to update for its customers that it is closed. Dont even bother venturing out to this coffee place. Its either been abandoned, or the owners dont care to update that it is closed!!!

Prices here are pretty outrageous the owner/manager will stand outside and watch to see where you park. He loves towing people. He gets a kick down from towing company everytime. I guess that makes up for people not wanting to spend their hard earned dollars on a high priced coffee that isnt very well made. Last I went my coffee was not hot and tastes like milk.. just milk! I wont go again. 711 is a much better option.

Red Hot White’s are amazing! Love this place and the atmosphere! So perfect to just hang out or do some work and admire the beautiful art. Such few places like this in Utah. Makes me feel like I’m in a different state.

Low-key coffee shop. Just what I look for in a place to grab a cup of coffee. Love the murals on the walls and the eclectic furniture in the seating area.

I will never go back there again. I have never been treated with as much disrespect as if I was garbage in my life at any restaurant or coffee shop. I buy a pastry and sit down and one of the tables. And I pull out my pins and a picture Ive been coloring for several weeks now. I’ve recently been trying many coffee places around Salt Lake and this may be my favorite. The drinks are reasonably priced and taste really good, the atmosphere is very cool, good for any occasion like a date or meet up or doing work. It’s my new go-to spot and I highly recommend giving it a try.

I really like this cafe! It has a welcoming atmosphere and is well suited for writing and studying. The also have some of the best coffee shop food Ive ever had! Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing!

Love the employees and drinks. The employees have personality and dont just come off as baristas pumping out coffee, but people who make good food and drinks and have fun doing it. Theyre a lot of fun to talk to and make it worth driving 4 miles from my house to grab a drink. Also, they have an awesome art gallery, and Ive found some really cool local artists through Mestizo.

My wife and came to salt lake City staying at the Hyatt hotel we were meeting my brother who lives in the apartments that mestizo is located my wife stepped into the little store also located there I sat down to wait for the party. Within seconds a rude employee come out and berated threatening to call the police get out he said I was not aloud to wait for the rest of my party this has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They indeed need work on their customer relations.

I just was at this coffee house for a business trip, it’s super cute and the employees are nice, and I was planning on coming here every day while I was in Salt Lake to get their Matcha Frappe, HOWEVER, I was eating a wrap for my lunch while waiting for my drink and the owner came up to my table.He told me I can’t eat here, and that there were signs everywhere saying I couldn’t (there wasn’t). I told him I was waiting for my drink and he said “well we don’t let homeless people eat here off the streets, it’s the same thing”. Comparing me to a homeless person? Nu-uh, I gave him my business (and I was planning on giving more the rest of the week), and I feel like the way he spoke to me was unprofessional.I’m going to take my business elsewhere.

Mestizo is about so much more than just coffee. The coffee is great, but what makes Mestizo my favorite place in the valley to get a cup is the mission and passion behind what they do. They are bringing the arts and culture of the west side into an organized space where all can enjoy. They have been struggling with the construction over the past couple of years, so make your way down there for an amazing cup of coffee for a great cause!

I like Mestizos a lot! Wish they had cold brew *concentrate* that I could buy at a premium so i can dilute it myself, but per the owner, they receive their cold brew pre diluted. However, its all good! Ill still be back when Im too lazy to make my own cold brew, or its too hot to fire up the kettle and do a pour over at home.
