Went today while checking out some cafes and this was first on the list. I love oasis cafe, their sister restaurant, so I already had high hopes that were absolutely made here! I had an oat milk latte which was very tasty with no complaints. I had their corned beef hash and it was so freaking good. Their toast being baguette was an excellent move. It held the food perfectly on it and the jam paired with it, was heavenly. It was probably the best jam I’ve had at a restaurant in a while if I’m being honest 😂 The corned beef wasn’t too salty though I wish it was a little less dry, that’s what the yolk from the over easy eggs are for though; right?! Overall, staff was attentive and nice, food was delicious and filling, and the atmosphere was relaxing and cute. Will be dining here again and cannot wait to get a group together to come here for brunch! Do recommend ♥️Note: If bugs bother you, aka springtime in Utah 🥲, then I don’t recommend sitting outside as there are quite a few around the plants. Though, that is also quite common and not the restaurants fault 😉
Cafe Trio is a delight to visit. We stopped by at around 4 on a sunny Friday. The patio environment can’t be beat with a beautiful canopy of yellow and white adorned with greenery. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and well paired. Rosemary flatbread was a favorite. The reason why there is no pictures is because we are the food immediately.
Perfect spot for breakfast/lunch/BRUNCH! A quaint open-plan restaurant with lovely patio seating and plenty of free public parking. I had the loveliest server, Brittney, who was accommodating in a few of my requests. The bathrooms were very clean and it was very comfortable to be on the patio. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, the mushroom entree, side of shaved brussel sprouts and cauliflower. The flavors are unique and I recommend that you ask many questions to discover exactly what you will like and what you won’t. The cauliflower was most unique, the cheese may be too strong for most. The mushroom scrambled eggs was great, love to see mushrooms elevated! A bit too much dressing on the arugula salad, but I loved the arugula. The home made English muffin was great! Lastly, the brussel sprouts were great! I liked their buttered sweetness. Overall, I had a splendid time and enjoyed all my foods, they were light and made me feel full but not heavy. Would definitely recommend and return!
Food was excellent! For brunch I had the mushroom scramble and my husband had the corned beef hash, we shared an avocado toast as well. Scramble was pretty straight forward (I loved it). My husband said the corned beef was probably the best he has had in a long time; maybe ever. The avocado toast was awesome, I could have been full on that alone really. Overall great brunch
Cafe niche claims that their partial closure is due to labor shortage, but their dinner staff left because they were denied higher wages. some of these employees were making minimum wage even after tips. For cafe niche to function in its own best interest before even attempting to keep loyal employees, and then throw a pity party and front as a victim of labor shortage doesnt illustrate what was actually going on here. People need jobs, so what does a labor shortage actually look like when you offer your employees adequate wages?
We were recommended this location by my cousin who suggested to have a nice dinner there. Its a small quaint café that sits in a neighborhood. Making it feel small and personal. The patio you can see the Wasatch mountains. The drinks are all well mixed. But the best part was how good this food was. Usually one of us gets something that outstands from the rest but all of our food was soooooo gooood. Even my daughters tomato soup was soooo goood. The mac was good, The chicken and then almond crusted salmon was all very good. I heard, and read, that their brunch is good. Plan on going back.
Used to love going and get the niche breakfast. But went a week ago they only gave me 2 little slices of avocado instead of the whole half, pencil thin apple slices as “fruit”, and they no longer do deviled eggs. And I was STILL PAYING THE SAME PRICES! After years of support, I will not be going back because they have gone completely cheap. They also stopped allowing dogs on their patio…
A delightful experience all around! Very friendly staff, tasty food, bottomless coffee, and a lovely interior.
We came for brunch on a Tuesday. The outdoor seating was great, although several wasps were present. I had the Biscuits and Gravy and my significant other ordered the Burger. Both dishes were good, although a bit bland and required seasoning or salt and pepper. The dishes and sides, while filling, were overpriced. For instance, a side of egg or sausage is $4 per yolk/link. The biscuits and gravy were $12, and came with a single biscuit (still excellent).
We found this little gem and it has been our go-to breakfast place whenever we are visiting SLC. We love the Niche breakfast and it is a toss up between the jalapeño biscuit and the homemade sourdough toast! Jakey is always a great server!
Our first time visiting Café Niche and I will say that we were not disappointed. The corned beef hash was delicious. We also tried the wild mushroom scramble and the French toast. The jalapeno cheddar biscuits are amazing too. Our server, Sterling was wonderful. We will be returning soon.
Wonderful atmosphere, attentive staff, and yummy well thought out dishes.
Excellent food. It wasnt that busy, no wait to get in. And still took over and hour for food. Eggs, bacon, and toast. Doesnt take a hour. The server was very apologetic, how ever it still to an absurd amount of time for eggs, bacon and toast. Will i come back? Maybe
Partner and I have always loved this place for brunch; we brought our friends from Barcelona here for their first American brunch experience, and they loved it. My personal favorites are the biscuits and gravy and the Reuben sandwich--and the mimosas are a must!
Stopped in for Brunch and we were very impressed. Quaint, modern decor and an outgoing, pleasant staff set the tone immediately. The menu was short but the list was intriguing. I had the niche breakfast, eggs, ham, spinach and delicious fresh fruit with a great cup of coffee. Their cocktails are original and delightful.
We went for lunch and ordered breakfast instead! The choices were typical breakfast fare with an amazingly fresh twist, like a very tasty green salad with my wild mushrooms scrambled eggs and Niche made English muffins. We tried the deviled eggs and roasted tomatoes, nicely done! Definitely a must do again!Parking was easy, lots of street spots available, nice patio, all very accessible.
Great experience. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. Jake, I believe his name was, provided excellent service. That’s what a waiter should be in my book. Definitely will be coming back.
Nice little restaurant, polite hosts and servers. The chicken ceaser wedge salad was good!
Extremely expensive, slow service, and not good food at all. We brunch out weekly and were looking forward to Niche. I suggest against it 100% . The food was mediocre, service friendly but impossibly slow. My food came out cold, my bloody Mary was Virgin i am pretty sure, and the cost was very high!! (Go literally anywhere else!)
Very nice little cafe in the middle of a cute downtown neighborhood. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Very small brunch menu but we were very pleased with what we ordered. And you can order cocktails after 11:00 a.m. for those who care about that sort of thing!
My first experience was better. This time I ordered clam chowder and tacos. It wasnt best choice. Friendly but slow service.
I had the biscuits and gravy and it was wonderful! The sausage was tasty and I loved the jalapeno cheddar biscuits. The portion size was perfect, not too big. I also had a bite of the cinnamon french toast and I really enjoyed it. For drinks I had the bloody mary, it had really good flavor and was very filling. I definitely recommend this place for brunch.
This place is so cute, and you can smell the delicious food even walking by. We came for brunch, and tried niche breakfasts and the mushroom scramble. We also had a tuna tartare. Everyone was really happy with their meals, and it all came out presented very pretty. We each had a different flavored mimosa which were also very pretty, and they have so many wonderful flavors. Mine was lavender which I loved, and I had never had as a mimosa before! So good, and Id definitely come back.
I love this place. It is my favorite local go-to restaurant.Great food and service. Very friendly.
Due to the short staff it was a long wait. But its to be expected during covid. Very pleasant staff. Food was amazing and atmosphere was perfect.
Delicious spot for brunch. We got the Croque Madame and Niche Breakfast. Both were great. This place felt a little fancy, and I liked it. They had a lot of covid-19 precautions in place. They have about 5 tables on the patio. Getting there around 9-9:30 on Saturday, we had no trouble getting a spot outside.
Been to a couple brunch places downtown this is the only one that didnt let me down. Food was great, server was nice and environment was very pleasing. Wait time and price were both good too. (less than an hour wait for brunch on mothers day weekend) Cant ask for more than that!
The food was ok it came out soggy and a little cold. The drinks were good though. We had to wait and hour just for the food to come out. The workers are nice and helpful.
Excellent food and staff and if you can only do dinner go to Cafe trio same owners and quality
The food was good, but not good enough to make up for their servers being a mess. When we first sat down, they were immediately putting food in front of us. When I mentioned it wasnt ours as we hadnt ordered yet, the server was disgruntled and rude to us even though it was their mistake for going to the wrong table. I then ordered the Cafe Niche Margarita, and was brought a mimosa instead. I asked my waiter if it was the margarita Id ordered, to which he said yes, and that he had just added a splash of orange juice (when the menu didnt say their margarita contained OJ). When I took a sip, it was solely OJ and champagne. No tequila or any other margarita ingredients. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant.
Unique menu that is different but not over the top! Friendly staff! One of our faves!
1st time was awesome. We had breakfast. Jess was a perfect waitress
The wedge salad was delicious! The food has a nice fresh taste. And the service was excellent!
Service was fantastic but the food was honestly kind of gross. I barely ate anything and ended up paying a $65 tab for two people (including tip). I don’t plan on coming back.
Great food and great service! They have declicous coffee, and you cant go wrong with anything from their breakfast menu!
Our party of 7, five adults and 2 kids arrived at Niche before it opened to make sure we could be seated on the patio. We waited and as the 1st people lo e in line asked for the patio. They said their tables seated 4. We asked if we could push 2 rectangular tables together. The hostess said no. I asked what their rationale was for this policy. I asked very nicely. She looked at me and said because that is pur policy so .... we are here for a wedding so eating breakfast together is important. The policy makes no sense. The rudeness was uncalled for. I live in Seattle. I always eat at Niche when Im here. Never again.
Great breakfast!! If you’re more than 1 be sure to make a reservation. This place is full!
This place was so lovely and the food was wonderful! My mom and I came here for lunch one day since we had read good reviews on the food here. Since we came a little later, the place was totally empty. I dont ever mind empty restaurants. I know some might be deterred by this since it might mean the food is not great, but it was a weekday and it was late in the afternoon, so I chalked it up to the timing. We started with the shaved brussel sprouts which were delicious! I love brussel sprouts. Theyre probably one of my favorite vegetables ever. The shaved aspect was a little unfamiliar to me, but not so much that I wouldnt have eaten them.I ordered the beet and goat cheese salad with salmon and my mom ordered salmon and some vegetables on the side. The salmon was delicious! I thought the beets were a little overwhelming so I didnt eat them all, but the goat cheese was quite delicious and the portion was large. My mom let me sample her vegetables and they were seasoned perfectly. Really delicious.Service was friendly and our server seemed really passionate about the food here.Would definitely return for lunch again.
Great food. The flavor profiles are extremely well thought out. At a lot of breakfast places Ill find myself reaching for salt, pepper, or hot sauce. Not here. Atmosphere is very friendly and they are celebrating pride with lots of decorations. The price is reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
Still a favorite spot! Great food & the service is professional. Also a nice patio is available. Id recommend the Cobb salad and salmon.
We met friends for dinner, and based on reviews anticipated a tasty meal. Nobody enjoyed their food. My husband found a hair in his meal. Our server was super kind and positive, but I would NOT recommend this place.
The food was absolutely delicious. The cornedbeef hash was to die for, with just the right amount of everything. The jam was splendid as well. The service and staff were attentive and super nice. 100% recommend.
When the food is good and the ambiance is good, why wouldnt you keep going to a good place! My little during the week peaceful getaway!
Wonderful Quality food. Great staff. Enjoyed everything to highest levels.
Delicious brunch, tasty cocktails, and the patio seating was very comfortable.
We ended up here for dinner as our first option was closed. The drinks were quite good, but the food- bad!!We had the Brussel sprouts, almond crusted salmon, and bacon burger. Not a single dish tasted good- overall quite disappointing. Maybe will go back for breakfast.
Always delicious and suitable for good conversation and company. Fresh avocado, spinach, and espresso make it a great way to begin the morning or afternoon.
Ordered the biscuits and gravy and got one biscuit with some “sausage”that tasted a lot like hot dogs. Portions are quite small for the price. The oat milk latte was very good though! I’d come back in the summer to enjoy coffee on the patio.
This is the perfect brunch spot! We got fresh grapefruit juice to start, which really hit the spot. Then, we got biscuits and gravy and corned beef hash. Wow!! Their homemade English muffins are the best I have ever had, and everything was perfect. The corned beef was sourced locally and was incredibly tender. They also were very committed to social distancing and keeping everyone safe. Would recommend to everyone!
The food was okay but the guy that takes your order does not lesson. Or fill the order the way you ask. Gave me the filling that all he hears is bla bla bla then does it as he likes. ( Asked for extra green salsa, and to hold the red hot sauce, and some of the pickled jalapenos and carrots) witch I could planly tell he did not want to lesion to or hear he did not fill any one of my requests. = Zero tip!!!! This is consistent behavior at the north temple and 800 west store. I guess they dont like tips? Okay by me!!!
I really loved this place but my wife did not. They have a lot of unique and unexpected flavor combinations that i appreciated but she was thrown off by it. I had a tasty blue cheese salad and the salmon was excellent.
Nice and friendly servers. Grapefruit cheese cake is yummy.
I LOVED everything about our meal here! The delicious food, amazing service and atmosphere made for a wonderful evening. It was a perfect evening to eat out on the patio with flowers all around. Our server was great and knowledgable of the items on the menu. We got the deviled eggs and they were spectacular! Perfect amount of horseradish. We both got the special which was a Basil Elk Burger with a side salad. All the flavors melted together perfectly. The salad had a citrus dressing that was so fresh tasting. We got the cheesecake for dessert and it was amazing. I wish we could have tried the Black Muscot but they were out!! Sad but it gives us s reason to go back. Writing about my meal makes me crave it!
This place is awesome. It has a great vibe from all of it employees. They welcome you Im and you enjoy the ambiance from there on. My fiance loved her dish and I did as well. The server was very freindly and checked up on us regularly. The chef was singing in the kitchen. You can hear him as he made magic happen im the kitchen. This business overall is a top favorite for us in salt lake.
Good service, lovely little café. I enjoyed my wedge salad... enjoyed our deviled wgg appetizer and we all enjoyed our cocktails.
Small quaint corner spot in the middle of residential Salt Lake. Food is so good though, really loved the breakfast. One of the best lattes Ive had in a long while, this coming from someone who has them daily. (I know, smh) Anyway ambience and hospitality was a total 5 star as well. Moises our server was so attentive and created an excellent experience. We ate here twice in this trip, it was that good
Came here for breakfast. Food was great and the prices werent too bad. Service was quick. No complaints and well definitely come back.
Very cute place, clean, European looking, everything was tasty. I recommend.
I’m sitting here after having finished my meal and feel compelled to leave a review. Every time I come here I am reminded how quality this place is. Can’t say enough nice things about the place. Love the niche breakfast, the ambiance is fantastic, staff are friendly and attentive. If you find yourself going to the Park Cafe(also fantastic salt lake restaurant) but don’t feel inclined to wait 45 minutes for a table, go to cafe Niche. You’ll be seated immediately almost certainly. Which is odd given the popularity of brunch in this town. I feel like Cafe Niche is a bit of a secret. This is my favorite spot for breakfast/brunch in this city, possibly the world.
Always wonderful! Great staff great food!
Went here on a whim. I love every bit of this place. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and very modern upscale atmosphere without being snobby. The food was excellent. This is my favorite breakfast spot in SLC only after one visit. Highly recommend. The food isnt cheap but, this is high quality food with filling portions. It worth the money.
For a vegan breakfast option, order the niche breakfast with sides only (fruit, bread, steamed spinach, avocado). Pretty tasty and filling!
I used to love this place, and their food is still pretty good, but I was treated so rudely by a waiter there two days ago that I will not be returning to this restaurant again. Its a pity that fear has turned this young man into an uninformed moral scold, but this kind of rudeness and stupidity needs market consequences.
Food was amazing, but a few of the sides were not delivered and one of the orders came with fried eggs rather than scrambled.
Nice breakfast place with a cool, trendy vibe, great service and great food!
I’ve enjoyed this place since I began regularly visiting SLC and moved here. I’ve not been here for a while but had a business lunch here yesterday. I had The best Reuben I’ve had, anywhere. My colleagues loved their salads too. Excellent food, very good service, and good prices.
Really good food with some special dishes that are different. Superb friendly staff.
If I had one word to describe cafe niche it would be fresh. You can taste the difference of using fresh, and ripe ingredients make. Their menu is fairly basic. You are going to find a lot of standard brunch dishes with a few surprises. But what you are also going to notice is how much better they taste. The quality of ingredients combined with the skill of the chef makes for excellent food well worth the price. The last time I visited I got the raspberry French toast. They used a challah bread for the toast and homemade whipped cream. It was delicious. The sauce was sweet but not overly so. It retained some of the tartness inherent with raspberries. I also ordered a roasted artichoke. I love this veggie and they prepared it well. It was cooked simply with pepper and oil. But it was served with a mustard that was amazing. We also ordered the niche breakfast. My wife had them prepare her eggs scrambled but well done. A prominent chef once told me that you can tell the skill of a chef by how they can prepare eggs. I have never seen a chef prepare well done scrambled eggs and still retain fluffiness. Generally they are turned to rubber but the chef at Cafe niche blew my mind. This is a restaurant that I will return to often.
Food is amazing! However, the service has been routinely disappointing. I’ve dined there at least 2x per month for the past 8-9 months. The food keeps bringing us back. But the slow service, rude hostesses and ignoring dietary restrictions (gluten- free requests) has been my experience on several occasions.
Nice please! Tasty 😋 it just took them a long time to bring the order!
We shared the corned beef hash and kale caesar with salmon. The salmon was cooked so perfectly with a crispy outside, not dry in the least inside. Brittney was a joy to chat. Along with and the rest of the folks here, shes doing a great job of keeping the place clean and covid-careful. Thank you for a delicious brunch!
The best place to eat in Salt Lake. Food is awesome. And so tasty
Over priced for the bland food youre served. Small portions. The only thing that was enjoyable was the service. Our waitress was extremely nice. The policies are weird, she wasnt aloud to pick up any plates or move anything out of our way. So we just sat with dirty stuff all over our table with no room to eat.Just not good.I dont understand how it has so many good reviews.Skip this one.
We seated pretty easily because we had a reservation. Our waters were on our table 2 mins after being Sat so congrats to the person handling water. Our meals however took awhile and the Sunnyside eggs were kinda cold 😌 They should definately improve in this area.
