This place was so cool I went on my birthday alone & The gentleman who had to work there brought me out my waffle with a sparkler candle🥺😭😭 it was the sweetest thing ever the smallest act of kindness they displayed on my first visit was overall amazing! It made my whole day!! I definitely won’t forget this place & will go back again soon!! Food also was amazing!😊

The food is excellent; the environment is a little spartan (and chaotic when its busy, 10+ customers). The waffles are very good, but the fries are just like in Belgium, right down to the plethora of sauce choices. Creme fraiche is not very tart and really seems like its just whipped cream.

Everything about this place was great. The workers taking the orders were so friendly and the waffles were amazing. They have a sweetness and vanilla flavor to them which is just delicious. And THEN they throw on some amazing toppings to literally top it off. Would recommend to anyone

Nice place for brunch. We had the monster waffle for the sweet one and the machine gun sandwich with fries. I liked both. But note that the machine gun sandwich has lamb sausage, just FYI because I know a few people who dont like the gamey flavour of lamb. Enjoy!

I’ve been here several times over the years. I always find the food delicious. The fries are super tasty all the waffle options are tasty as well. I go places and typical say to myself that I can replicate this at home. I don’t think that is the case with these waffles. They are delicious. They do something different to the batter. So good. The topping options are wonderful. The atmosphere and location are perfect. Parking is easy. I highly recommend.

A must when youre in Salt lake City. Tell the owner youre from out of town and he will make you feel welcome. He explained the menu helped us order. Authentic Belgium food! You must try the fries with the dipping sauces, yum! We had the sausage and egg with both sausages. Very unusual flavors. The lamb sausage they import seasoning from Belgium to mix with local lamb to create it. It should be on Guys Triple Ds list!

This is where I first tried chicken and waffles a few years back! We love coming here for authentic Belgian waffles and delicious fries. All their sauces is to die for and I love how cute the presentation is every time. Cool decor and great staff! I haven’t been able to go over there since covid but plan on stopping by soon!

So amazing! We had 6 people and got everything from breakfast waffles, sweet waffles and sandwiches. Everything was fantastic and the staff was friendly, efficient, and checked on us after we got our food to make sure everything was great!! The waffles are frites are the best things we had. The food itself tasted pretty good, I ordered the chicken and waffles. However, it was almost impossible to eat because for some reason they gave us wooden utensils, which weren’t nearly sharp enough to enjoy the chicken and waffles together. Why they couldn’t just use plastic utensils I don’t know, as they had plastic cups, lids, straws, and containers. Also, the waffles were covered in whipped cream, which was extremely sweet and in my opinion unnecessary due to the syrup already providing sweetness. The bathroom was also unnecessarily hard to use, as it was locked with a code that I had to ask the cashier for, when all I wanted to do was wash my hands. Overall good food, but less than satisfying experience.

I love the decor, showcasing fun Belge landmarks, cartoons, etc. Staff has always been accommodating and helpful if you’re unsure of what to get. The waffles are thick, warm, and flavorful, complete with sugar pearls. I can’t forget all the tasty toppings they offer as well. They also have the famous machine gun sandwich, something you don’t want to miss if you’re a foodie. If you’re looking for an authentic Belgian waffle, look no further than Bruges!Most recently I tried their pig on a cloud waffle, served with crème fraîche, bacon, and caramel and I highly recommend it.

Great classic Belgium waffles and fries! I got the machine gun since it was featured on man v food, and it was good, but I’d recommend coming here for the waffles instead :). My wife got waffles and chicken and it was amazing.

A few good & bad thoughts... Good; Apple pie waffle with a cinnamon waffle and salted caramel sauce is haven. Bad; But, I would not recommend anything with meat in it. We ordered several meat options and the burgers were flavorless and dry. The fries were also soggy, so Im not sure why those are so highly recommended. In all: Go there for the sweet options, but skip the savory.

Bruges has the best waffles Ive ever tasted in my life. We ordered The Favorite and Pig on a Cloud at their recommendation, and we were blown away. Pig on a Cloud tastes like the most delicious savory, sweet breakfast youve ever had. The bacon inside the liege waffle just takes it up to the next level. The Favorite was delicious as well. Cant go wrong with creme fraiche and raspberries/strawberries on one of these delightful waffles. We got a side of Belgian chocolate sauce, but honestly the flavor of these waffles is subtle, and we felt that the chocolate masked some of that flavor with how strong it was. So even though Im a huge chocolate fan, I actually loved the flavor more without the chocolate. We will be back here again and again. I have no doubt.

I simply cant get enough this place! The food and atmosphere is seriously great. And I love that its one of the few breakfast restaurants, besides the major food chains, open on a Sunday! Id highly recommend any of their signature waffles, although the chicken and waffle is my favorite. The frits with cheese were just right level of savory to help balance out the sweet! Every time I go there the staff are helpful and professional. Theyre fast on the food without compromising the taste/look. Its seriously ruined other waffles for me elsewhere, as nothing else compares to what you get here. The slight downside is the price, but you get what you pay with quality ingredients and phenomenal taste. If I lived any closer Id probably eat here once a week, easy! Perfect place to get a filling brunch and nice place to take the family. I will definitely be a returning customer! Go try it yourself!!

Bruges for the win! After a relaxing road trip up and down the Salt Lake Valley hunting for a rental properties, Tiff and I worked up quite the appetite. Before continuing our search, after perusing the sugar house area, this little bistro popped up as a nearby Google recommendation. The building is small and has a bunch of outdoor seating, it’d be a perfect little stop to grab a bite in the summer! While it appears waffles are the specialty here, we both ended up going with the Belgian Dog and couldn’t be happier with the choice. They even have a long list of dipping sauces to pair with your fries. I’m a big sauce guy so any place that offers a wide selection of flavors usually sparks my interest. The fries were crispy and delicious. The dog was uniquely flavored and perfectly tucked away into a savory warm hoagie roll. It’s safe to say, the entire meal satisfied me and I will be recommending this place to friends.Great food. Cool neighborhood. I’ll be back to try their waffles!

Was hot waiting for bus, their just steps away. I ordered a cold drink to sit with outside. They had seating out side and had restrooms available. Nice variety of drinks and food.

Authentic Belgium Liege waffles and one of my favorite all time SLC restaurants. Whether you are there for the frites to get lost in the dipping sauces, the enormous machine gun, or to enjoy the sweetness of the liege waffles in all their doughy sugar crystal glory. My go to is the classic leige waffle with the homemade whipped cream and biscoff cookie spread. I love the sugarhouse location and they have always shown great customer service, they put a sparkler in my waffle when they heard it was my birthday. I have been coming here for years and they are consistently exceptional from their food to their service!

My husband lived in Belgium a while back and he said this was the most authentic place hes found in the States. One of the employees went above and beyond, I dont remember his name, I want to say it was Ricci. He was incredibly kind and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. The food was outstanding to say the least!

My first time trying Bruges! I tried the machine gun sandwich with side of frites this place is my new favorite my mouth is watering thinking of it did curbside order but still had to come inside to get it.

This bistro may be one of my absolute favorite food places EVER! I AM 100% NOT KIDDING!! Any time I am in the Utah area, I try & stop at one of the locations. I tend to stop at the one in Provo or this one near Sugarhouse. The fries are to DIE FOR! The waffles are exquisuite! Dont get me started on the chicken & waffle option!😍😍 For a southern girl, that brings me pure joy! There is an option for everyone in the family! Ive been coming to Bruges since I was a young girl! Dont walk but run there NOW! 👏👏

We have been there couple of times. Yesterday we went there and pretty politely asked the server if we can use the patio tables. She said she will ask the manager. Then the manager showed up from the window and started yelling at us saying that he needs that place empty.While he could simply reply that this place was not available, he chose to be rude. Salt lake has hundreds of restaurants with well-behaved servers and managers and ofcourse good food. No one needs to go to this rude one. Will prefer to avoid this place in future.

I had the best experience here! A friend recommended this place, so my husband and I visited for Valentine’s Day. We drove from Logan and it was well worth the drive. My husband had the Cinnamonster and loved it. I can’t eat gluten or dairy so I had the Belgian Dog without a bun and it was delicious! The cashier (I think his name is Lu) was super nice and adjusted the price for me. The sauces were really good and the fries were perfect. The fries I had here are the best fries I’ve ever eaten! I was amazed by the service. There was a line when my husband and I walked into the restaurant so we decided to use the bathroom before ordering. When we went to use the restrooms, we found that we needed codes to get in. We returned to the line to order and when we finished ordering, the cashier gave us the codes to the restrooms because he said he had noticed us go to the bathrooms and then return to the line. Our food was given to us in under 10 minutes and it was all cooked perfectly. We will be back!

Bruges waffles have a very specific method for making them and not a lot of places serve them, it involves sugar pearls that caramelize on the inside and give the waffle a caramel crunch to it. The waffles are good, but I feel like they didnt have enough of the pearl sugar in them because the overall caramel and crunch were faint. The lack of that and the smaller portions made it feel a bit pricey for what you actually get.The fries we got were all little nibblets, like the last scrapings at the bottom of the frier. Which for $4 was really disappointing.And, though it didnt happen to us, the table next to us only received one of their two meals. A woman watched her boyfriend finish his food and kept asking when hers was coming out. They kept telling her any minute but 20 mins later she asked for a refund and thats when she finally got her sandwich.I would not go back here.

Spent 5 years in Belgian and lived the waffles. Belgian waffles are not sickenly sweet. They do not sweeten their whipped cream. Paid 21.00 for a sausage dog and waffle with strawberries and cream. Im sorry but the worst waffle ever. Itwas

This is a wonderful place to get a delicious dessert waffle! The cream they put on top is to die for. They also have the best fries, or frites which they deep fry twice. They have yummy dipping sauces too. This location is a little smaller than draper, but bigger than slc. I ordered a grilled cheese type of waffle sandwich today and it was just okay. It was the first time I ventured away from a dessert waffle. I am just going to stick with a dessert waffle from here on out.

Bruges is a lovely place to get a tasty breakfast. The style of waffle at Bruges is a thick batter with sugar. so it’s extra sweet. You can get different things on top like bacon or sausage on top and eggs as well. They have quick service and we were able to hang out for quite a while and enjoy it. I would recommend!

Awesome place! I had the Belgian Dog with Frites and a Bavik super pils. The dog, though it had a bit too much bread, was delicious! The frites were golden and crispy. The staff and owner are welcoming and friendly. You can really tell this place cares about its craft. Highly recommend!

The frites are to die for. Try the curry dipping sauce. The croque madame was good, but I prefer it with the egg yolk slightly runny instead of medium hard. With the paper containers, though, its probably just as well. Didnt have a waffle this trip, but theyve always been delicious. I do want to lament the loss of the breakfast menu, particularly the William, which is my favorite egg dish. Im assuming the disappearance of this item is due to the pandemic, but I miss it nonetheless.

Was only here for two days and it was so good I went here for lunch both days! The machine gun sandwich was good but I preferred the avacode waffle sandwich I got the other time. Both are pictured.

Usually I love the waffles I get here, especially the sweet ones. But I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken tenders tasted fishy, which was really weird. I didn’t finish eating the chicken but the waffle itself was good. Would recommend this place but avoid the chicken.

I do not advise ordering online. I just had an awful experience here. I ordered because they advertised curbside pickup since I had a baby and toddler with me. When I got there they put me on hold and then told me I had to walk up to the window.Then I got my order home and saw it was majorly wrong. I ordered chicken and frites, a strawberry waffle and a chocolate dipped waffle. What I got was a few frites with zero chicken, a regular waffle with no chocolate, and the strawberry waffle. When I called to tell them my order was wrong the woman on the phone just said “well if you want your chicken you can come back”. I explained that I had two small children with me and coming back was not an option so I just wanted a refund. She just said “on the chicken?” and said ok. Not once did she say sorry and was instead just plain rude. I wish I could get my tip back too.

Knowing the food that is being offered from Belgium I am a bit disappointed. While the waffles were not bad they weren’t the greatest. Kinda dry. Hard to explain. The decor is alright. Nice stuff but needs some help. Some music would help as well. The staff wasn’t overly friendly. Due to the snow outside I pulled my mask down my nose for a second at the entrance to get the fog off my glasses. Right away I was told to keep my mask on. Come on...

Excellent Belgiam waffles and pomme frites.I would say the best in Utah.This is a nice location with plenty of parking around.The waffles are a must try since their flavor is as good as if you were somewhere in Belgium (I’m European and have been to Belgium several times).The pomme frites absolutely stellar with their fresh flavor and crunchiness, forget all other fries you have tried (yes, even the ones from Five Guys, I’m afraid).A plenty of variety of savory or sweet waffles so you can stop here for a meal or just desert.Great service and a couple tables to sit around on a charming location.Always a pleasure to stop by and enjoy some good food.

This place seemed cute and I was excited to try it, but the waffle was one of the worst I’ve had. It was way too sweet even on its own. I got the strawberry and creme fraiche waffle. Made me wish I got the fries.

Bruges Waffles & Frites is one of the best hidden spots in Salt Lake City. I ordered the Machine Gun Sandwich and it was out of this world. It came with lamb sausages, Andalouse dipping sauce, frites, and their secret sauce. I wasnt full enough, so I ordered a liege waffle which tasted like it was straight out of Belgium.

I got my order to go and when I was ready to eat it most of my waffle was melted to the paper tray. The small waffle and two mini chicken stripes was not worth ten dollars. Now Im sure my experience would have been different if I hadnt had too peel my waffle from the paper tray.

Honestly, I debated whether or not to give this 3 stars instead of 4. Dont get me wrong, the waffle was AMAZING. Super sweet and delicious! The chicken, on the other hand, was meh. I would probably go back just for that waffle, though. Also, my husband ordered the hot dog and fries, and it seemed like the very last bit of fries at the end of a bag, so they were all small pieces and were not easy to eat. The small hot dog was also burried in an unnecessarily HUGE bun. Not to mention that the prices are quite high for the amount and quality of the food. The waffles are probably worth it, but Im not sure any of their other food is.

Had a small selection of Belgian beer, good stuff. The frites were good, but nothing amazing. Worth checking out, a bit on the pricy side for what youre getting though.
