The classes here are very fun, I learned a lot in just one 2 hour session! I havent touched a sewing machine since 8th grade, but I learned so much in just one class. The women teaching were very thorough and Im excited for the next lessons. My boyfriend came and he also enjoyed himself and is looking forward to finishing his piece and learning a new skill. Class times are flexible and work with my schedule and they feel very personal. I feel welcome here and recommend it to adults and children that want to learn how to sew. They also have a great fabric selection, I have a hard time picking!
This is one of the funnest places to shop for unique and high quality fabric! They specialize in quilting cottons, though they do carry other fabrics as well. Ive found the indoor canvas upholstery fabric to be some of the best out there. The staff is always friendly and fun, helping me locate items that Im after. Its nice to see independent sewing shops still exist and for the quality youre getting, reasonably priced.
Cute store but they didn’t acknowledge me when I walked in. Not even a simple hello. The two woman working there were just talking to each other. They didn’t even stop talking to ask if I needed something. I walked out without purchasing anything because it just felt uncomfortable.
Carolyn and crew are exceptional . very knowledgeable.
I love this store. The staff is friendly and all of them are expert quilter. The owner designs quilts and can help you create your quilt. She has a gift for color and pattern. This is my go to store.
This store is wonderful. It is small but a gem to our community. The staff members are friendly and kind. Besides structured classes they have flexible hours when intermediate sewing enthusiasts (like me!) can come in for help & supervision. Their fabric selection is much smaller than the big chain stores but they have some darling stuff. I wish Id discovered this a long time ago!
Great store with wide selection of fabrics at great prices. They have regular sales and can help you plan your next sewing project. They also do alterations at a reasonable price and have someone that can help do the finishing of a quilt on her long arm. They do classes too and can help you get setup with a new or old sewing machine. There is also another store in the Rose park area off redwood and 700 North. Definitely worth checking out if you are into quilting, just enjoy seeing or need an alteration. They have helped my girlfriend with material for several quilts and I know she loves the fabric lines they carry like cotton and steel, Moda, and Riley Blake.
This store changed ownership one year ago. Being the new owner, I am committed to being helpful, honest, and kind.Janice, I am sorry that you had some bad experiences. We do not usually let people sift through our scraps and I have never closed early or made a sign that says because we need a break too, though I have often thought about it!!! If something isnt right, please come to me personally and I will make it right. To those who took the time to write a positive review in the last year, THANKS SO MUCH!!! We are trying to make your shopping and sewing time fun and pleasant. We want to add to your joy of creating!!
My daughter has been sewing here for a few years and absolutely loves it. I highly recommend their sewing lessons!
Very nice place to get fabric and all youre sewing needs.
This is a cute little store with lots of cute fabric. The selection isnt huge so make sure everything you need for a project is there in the store or youll have to order it online to finish. They staff is helpful and funny. They seem to like their gossip so be careful what you say ;)
Unfortunate that this store isnt better, because its the only quilt shop in the area. Its a smaller store but it has everything you need in a pinch - if they are chose to be open and you can be talk them into letting you purchase it. Expect them not to offer advertised prices and discounts as well.Examples: i wasnt given the 20% off blue items because the shade wasnt blue enough... after the cut was made. I had picked out the fabric because of the sale. The sales ladies have been visibly frustrated with me browsing. Ive felt that Ive had to sweet talk them into service more than once.I tried to order a kit over 5 times - but was told getting it made wasnt a high priority, and I was told repeatedly to come back another day before I eventually talked them into letting me put the kit together myself. They gave me their scraps to sift through to make my own kit, and the cashier tried to talk me out of buying the haphazard kit because it was going to be hard to ring in.They have been closed multiple times during business hours, with a sign stating that they deserved a break too on a school holiday.
My 8-year old daughter is taking sewing classes there and loves it. I havent experienced any of the rudeness others expressed in reviews and they have shown her how to do things, but not done it for her--shes on her 3rd project and seems to be learning a lot--everything from loading a bobbin to using a pattern, etc. No issues with payment either. Just pay when we attend a class.
Not a great selection of fabrics. Seemed more like a coffee shop where a bunch of women were gathered at the back of the store gabbing about how they wanted more grandkids. Weird vibe. I felt like everything was pretty outdated. Need to refresh.
Love fabric stores but not one of my favorites they do carry Riley Blake fabric!
We enjoyed our visit. The fabric was beautiful and the service was the best!
I am taking beginner sewing adult sewing lessons at age 37! Caroline is an amazing instructor at the Roselark location!
Nice variety of fabric. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
I stop in twice a year for Shop Hop. Theyve always had cute patterns and fun employees. It is out of the way but I never skip them.
I am an experienced sewer and joined their adults lessons because they needed three to a class and two of my friends wanted to learn to sew. My friend that didnt know how to sew at all basically had the lady do it for her instead of actually teaching her.I also told them I was paying as I went instead of their option to accumulate a tab. The woman there charged me for everything and on the last day said that I hadnt paid, and made me waste a half an hour looking up the different payments they had on their computer looking for my transaction when the lessons were an hour long each time. All for a three dollar transaction. I eventually decided it wasnt worth my time sitting there listening to her rant about how she had screwed up (my words no hers) and couldnt find my order, and since I couldnt find my recipe from several days ago I must not have paid when I had to pay for the class and spent most of it getting lectured instead.Awful.I do have to admit the woman teaching the actual class was friendly and talkative, and if it hadnt been (manager / owner) for the woman running the register it would have been a pleasant place, if you knew how to sew already.I vowed never to go back, and none of my friends that took the class ever has either.
Beautiful fabrics and it’s actually AFFORDABLE!!
Best sewing lessons for kids around!
Fun
Love the customers service
