Salt Lake Sewciety is THE PLACE for apparel fabric. It has the best selection by far of any other fabric store in the state. They have high-quality knits, wovens, and any other notion you would need. They also offer classes that are so helpful and where you can meet other people in the sewing community. The owner really knows what they’re doing and is always genuinely happy to talk about anything sewing related to help you. I’ve gone back many times, and I will continue to shop there! I can’t recommend this shop enough.

I had a great experience. While confident in my sewing I’m not familiar with fashion sewing. I want to make and modify my own clothes to make them look better and last longer. I took a class and was nervous about doing so due to pandemic but masks were required and the space was big enough to spread out. They were able to help me size up the class’ pattern to fit my exact measurements and now I have a beautiful, bespoke dress! Having the option to take classes virtually is a great offering to have during the pandemic and one I hope to utilize.

Not a sewer but now I’m hooked! I took the Monroe Turtle neck class and had a blast! I feel like it gave me enough skills to replicate this on my own. Plus I now have the pattern for making various sizes as gifts for family and friends. It was a great intro to sewing and I got an adorable Free-People style waffle knit! I love that the fabric is sustainably sourced as well.

Salt Lake Sewciety is such a wonderful offering to the local area. SLS provides HIGH quality fabrics, thoughtful notions, and most of all a supportive community / educational space! The sewing classes that I have taken from the owner helped build my sewing confidence and the instructor was beyond kind and knowledgable. Truly a gem of a studio. Go visit!

Took an overalls class as a beginner and it was great! Small class of 6, so I got assistance as needed. Delaney is welcoming, easygoing, and made me feel confident in my sewing potential. Yay for a new hobby!

This is such an inviting space with a beautiful selection of fabrics. 10/10 would recommend signing up for one of the classes if you are looking to expand your sewing skills. I took the Monroe Turtleneck class and left with a shirt I absolutely adore and a ton of confidence in my sewing abilities!

Hands down, best fabric shop in Salt Lake. They carry high quality fabrics and notions- much better than the chain stores. They also offer classes in a small setting (COVID friendly!), which are so fun!

I loved taking a sewing class at the Salt Lake Sewciety! I made the Monroe Turtleneck and I love it! Such a cute space, and the owner/teacher Delaney really knows her stuff! I’m so glad this business exists! I’ll be taking more classes and buying more fabric in the future!

Ive taken both a class and had a custom bra made. Both experiences were awesome. The owner was super quick and excited to make the bra which made me even more excited. She was also one of the most patient sewing teachers Ive learned from. Super clear and knowledgable. I was very intimidated going into the class but came out with heaps of confidence. This shop is a fantastic addition to the community.

The owner is super nice and very knowledgeable about sewing. I attended one of her Mending Monday classes, and felt super supported and learned several new things despite already being an intermediate sew-er. I am definitely looking forward to taking more classes here!
