My glasses from last year werent as good of a prescription as the ones from 3 yrs ago. Went back for my annual, Im not wearing a mask! Staff insisted it was mandatory, even as we saw 3 ppl (2 behind clerk) with masks under their lips/chin. I dont think so. If a place of business requires their staff to wear a mask for their own protection, why isnt that enough? Lost me as a customer.
Dr. Larsen was very nice and so was the staff. I went back two months later because the coating was coming off my frames and was told I hadnt bought insurance to cover frames for a year after purchase. Was asked if I was out side in the sun alot because that could cause coating to come off, apparently I had purchased indoor glasses only and not glasses to wear outside, go figure. I guess the transition lenses I purchased was for if my TV got to bright the would darken. I paid over $400.00 and instead of getting another pair of frames I was offered a discount on buying more glasses and frames. If they cant afford to replace a pair of two month old frames to satisfy a customer I cant afford to keep spending money at this place. I would recommend anywhere else to get glasses but here.
Doctor Larson was great himself but the staff was terrible. They over charged my wife $102 and when I called them to go over the receipt and explain how they had over charged I was continually told I was wrong and that the charge was correct. I had to call my insurance and have them call the family Eye care office and explain it to them themselves. Finally they said I would have to drive back in to get reimbursed with my card and didn’t even apologize for the massive over charge. Terrible service!
Coming back to leave a second negative review. My 10 yr old who chose contacts (as my previous review stated) now needed another 6 month supply so we went in December to order them. Here it is February and we never received a call stating they were in. I went TO the clinic today to inquire and they couldn’t be found. I was told a contacts specialist would call me when they returned. 2 hrs later I called the office to speak with this person and was told that the contacts order was “cancelled or returned or something” and that they’d be reordering them.I will be retrieving these contacts once they FINALLY get here and then we will be finding a new optician. We love Dr Larsen but his staff is incompetent.
This place is aweful!!!! We went in to have our eyes examined both myself and my husband. It took more than 3wks to receive my glasses..When I did finally receive them my prescription was completely WRONG!!! some guy that was at the office when I stopped in to give them back my glass s to see if they could correct them offered me some empty explanation without any real sincere apology.... Completely unprofessional are each one of the front desk workers..I hate SanAngelo and this only adds to it!!!!
Everyone was so nice and helpful. Dr Larsen was so interested in my diabetes and how my eyes were doing well with my low A1C. They were busy but I didnt have to wait too long. They have all the up-to-date equipment needed. I will keep him as my eye doctor as long as I live here in San Angelo.
Dr. Larsen is the kindest man. He works hard to make sure I can see. If there is an issue he will work until there is a way to fix it. Love his work ethic.
I love Dr Larsen - and love the way he is with my kids... I’m disappointed with the staff though, and feel like the entire operation needs a little help. My 9 yr old opted for contacts, but a child should be given glasses as well for the times their eyes may be tired of contacts or on the days they need to go without them. This wasn’t suggested or offered. When I did go back to order glasses I was told they’d be ready on Thursday, when I called it seemed like they’d forgotten to order them. They texted me the following Tuesday to let me know glasses were ready. I go to pick them up and they asked for the frames, but I’d left them the frames on the day I went to order. Now the frames cannot be found and they’re short staffed and the guy handling the order won’t be in until tomorrow. I don’t appreciate wasting my time or fuel and certainly don’t like the confusion regarding service that we’re paying for. I’m afraid that if the quality of service continues to decline we will be seeking another optician.
Dr. Larsen himself is great! His staff is horrible, rude, inconsiderate, lack of empathy and lacking interpersonal relations! This is not related to the Covid-19 situation, this is standard practice! Think about this, you see Dr. Larsen about 10 to 15 min. You have to deal with his staff before you see him, after you see him and any other circumstances that dont directly involved Dr. Larsen. To sum it up, Dr. Larsen is great, his staff leaves a lot to be disired!Follow up, gave them my recent clear prescription $600 pair of glasses ( that got scratched ) under replacement warranty 2 weeks ago. Told it would take 7 to 10 days to replace. Called last Friday to check status, was told lenses had arrived ( Note, they didnt call me, I called them ) that I needed to bring my glasses in and it would take them about 10 minutes to replace lenses. I set appointment for 2pm Monday, waited for 25 min. One of the staff brings my glasses out to the waiting room and ask me if I had ordered prescription sunglasses replacement, thats what she was holding. They had not even checked my order to makes sure it had been completed correctly. They then tried to tell me the lab screwed up the order and they had to use that lab because of my insurance. I use Eyemed and Dr. Larsen is an Eyemed in network doctor. Now Im waiting another 7 to 10 days for my glasses. This is what Im talking about, his staff is not doing him any favors.
Absolutely a good place to get you glasses from
Dr Larsen was able to care for my special vision needs. I used to have to go to Lubbock. Staff is very nice too.
Alan Larsen is a wonderful eye doctor. His personality is very pleasing. The rest of the staff are super..especially Brenda. This office takes the time to talk to you and not make you feel they are in a hurry to get to the next client. I have been going to this office before Alan took over. If anyone reading this is looking for an optometrist, I highly recommend you trying Alan Larsen. Once you try him for your optical problems, you will find you will continue going back.
The staff is great. They were friendly, fast and super patient with my special needs child
I have been seeing Dr. Larsen for almost a decade now. He was the first eye doctor I visited when I moved here for college in 2005. When I moved back to Dallas briefly, I came back just to see him. Great doctor. Sometimes the wait is a little longer than expected, but he fully devotes all of his attention to you and your needs.
Great staff. Awesome Dr as well. Understands what you are looking for and takes the time to get it right. Was in a bind and he helped me out! Highly Recommend.
No problem with the Doctor but his staff is terrible. Ordered glasses and paid for them in full and a week later i call them for status and they dont have my info. Biggest problem they never called me i had to call them. Second when i go back to see if i can find the ones i picked, they dont bother to help they just say can you pick some new ones and leave. Needless to say i cancelled my order that apparently they didnt have and got my money refunded.
Ive been going here for a few years now and couldnt be happier. The staff is always friendly and professional.
The staff is amazing! They answered all the questions we had! Will recommend!
Dr. Larson has been our optometrist for seven years. He is very kind, friendly and extremely patient. Like any other doctor visit, sometimes there is a bit of a wait. This does not happen often, but it is worth the wait when you find a doctor you really like.
Very professional office, easy to work with they get straight to the point great customer service. Alan Larson is a great doctor . My glasses came in very quickly thank you so much you guys!
Fantastic staff, Great choice ins glasses and great prices. Always willing to work with us! LOVE this place.
Dr. Larsen and his employees do not hold up to what they say they will do. They never answer the phone, They do NOT return phone calls.I recommend Dr. Lamb off of Beauregard.Upon receiving payment Dr. Larsens office take their sweet time getting your contacts. It has been 3 months now and still they have not got the right contact...nor called back with the latest order placed 3 weeks ago. They are unprofessional in that they order what Dr. Larsen suggests instead of what the customer wants and when you discuss this and tell them you dont want the product, charges you for it and sends it back.I am in the process of filing a BBB complaint and civil litigation against Family Eye Clinic.I would steer clear if I were anyone else.
I have been coming to this clinic for years, and as far as I am concerned they provide the best service and everyone is super friendly.
Great staff. Fast turn around on glasses and very cheap in prices
Love this Doctor!!!!!! He has saved my eye and has treated me and my family better than any other Doctor, EVER!!!! Highly recommend!!!!! He has Great Chair side manner!!!
Walked in and was seen almost immediately! Friendly staff and wonderful Dr.
Kinda disappointed first they messed up in my glasses ( which I dont think I should have paid since it was thier mistake not mine but oh well) second I guess I had to be more specific about my transition my glasses are barley transition NOT happy
Would not recommend to anyone they gave false information over the phone and when I went into office I had the same issue was told I was receiving certain particulars on contacts and eyeglasses and when I picked up.it was not what I asked nor agreed to pay for.
Dr. Larsen and his staff are very friendly and helpful.
Never actually got service. Had me on hold for 15 minutes before i hung up. Called back later and no one even answered.
Awesome
