This location has gone downhill in the past few years. Dirty and sticky tables with crumbs on them always, along with unmopped floors and walls with dirt stains. Even if your snacks are good, if your lobby and waiting area are this dirty, I can only imagine the hygiene in the kitchen area where we cannot see. Basic cleaning will make it seem somewhat welcoming.
Used to come here all the time, I moved out of town and after a year I was super excited to come back. The elote was bland, mushy and just gross overall, took one bite and threw the rest away. The cheese on the hot cheetos had a weird texture but tasted fine. Worst of all my moms food had a hair at the bottom.
It is a pleasant place, it has a very friendly staff and meets the needs of the client, they have a clean area, the products they sell are very delicious. The only detail is that the A/C, does not work and it really feels too hot inside, thanks
Service not good and food not flavor. Taking too long to prepare the food
Just left here. 7 minutes to bring out a AGUA FRESCA? Then she hands it to me and doesn’t even say anything back after I say thank you. I’ll never come here again. I’d rather go to Chivitos. I can get an agua Fresca there in 30 seconds. Also, no AC in their building?
We spent $30 worth of snacks. Not worth it. I had a mangonada (not good), my girls Had some strawberry ice cream that was melting and was impossible to eat (hard to try to catch it as it was dripping off the cup). I order some papas preparadas, the cucumber and Jicama was old. Staff was nice enough to prepare another plate. Still, sorry to say, not worth it. 🙁
Discovered this place when we recently moved around the corner! Love all the food and snacks! Service has always been quick, and orders perfect! :)
Rude. Came with my partner and we had to say hello before anyone said anything to us. The waiter starred at us as if we just had to be patrons. But greeted the couple in front of us. First and last experience. Ice cream was good though
Got hot Cheetos and corn the corn taste sweet and not authentic corn does not taste good
At first I was skeptical their prices are accordingly to the area of town. The elote was very good, but not the best there was a lack of lime. Also serving the hot corn in a plastic cut did gave me the sensation of burning when I grabbed the cup. The mangonada looks great, I would highly suggest adding a bar with chamoy, valentina, and other stuff. I mean that is only the standard anywhere else.
This is not authentic corn in a cup. We called ahead to ask if they had white corn, and they said yes. The corn was sweet with bland chile powder and not at all what an “elote en vaso” tastes like.
I stopped in before and after a painting class. This place is amazing! The fresanada and mangonada are perfectly sweet with a just enough chamoy. The corn in a cup is good. I’ve never had this before. So, it’s hard to compare it to anything. Great customer service! Reasonably priced! I will definitely be back.
Best place near work, I love that the staff is always friendly. The tostielote is our go too at work. And their Rusas are honestly the best Ive had in san Antonio!
Corn cups terrible and lemonade drinks the same👎 customer service the same.
Chicken salad sandwich and spinach empanadas are the only reason I gave this place another chance at redeeming themselves. Their service deserves 0 stars. I have gone 3 times and the service has been poor every single time. Teenager working the front has no customer service skills. Cannot get orders right and has a poor attitude. They treat you like its an inconvenience youre there. Take your business elsewhere! The Sonic in front of it has way better service!
Very good service, excellent place to get something for the muchies when youre tired of pizza and hamburgers.
They too 50 minutes to give me my order
Delicious Mexican snacks and food! Will be coming back to try out more!
Very friendly and attentive!!! Chalupa was so fresh and tasty!!!
Its a great place for a good snack, I wish the gentleman at the register had a better attitude. He totally kills the vibe.
The Elotes and manzanas are as good as they get! Reminds me of L.A
Chamoy and tajin covered apples are sooo good! Cool spot to try new snacks.
Great snacks but workers are always in a bad mood. Makes me not want to order anything.
Their mangonadas are absolutely insane. Just beware that their quantity is very Texas sized so bring a good appetite. Would highly recommend. A bit pricey but well worth it!
Wonderful owners / staff! Excellent assortment of choices. Very well presented and clean. Simply a favorite place for cold treats!!!
This places was very disappointing to say the least! 1st they got my order wrong and gave me 2 tostilotes instead of 2 tostitos estilo Mazatlán (I also ordered 2 manzana preparada). By the time we made the 20min drive back home we decided to just eat what they gave us instead of drive back. As my family and I were eating I found a HAIR in my tostilotes as I was half way through eating them. Then my daughter found a hair in her tostilotes as she was almost done eating them. I will not be returning to this place or ever recommend it!
Great mango shaved ice and good ice cream. The chicharron preparado is a must try. Ring the bell for service. Neat and clean dinning area. Patio is pet friendly.
Love them at first, but then the having more clients and opening more branches made them started to reduce the flavor of their food( I believe that it reaches them more times and to earn more $). The nachos cheese tastes literally like milk, the chamoy tastes like water. It is my fault for coming back and think that they will improve, but the more customers the worse service and food. Just remember it is not the quantity but the quality.
Very small menu, corn in a cup was very spicy. Could not even finish it. The shaved ice wasnt even shaved ice. Your choice of flavors are very limited and only 3 choices for smoothie or ice cream flavors. Your better off going 4 miles up the street to Aloha. They were closed today so we decided to try this place. Wont be going back. The corn in a cup is a joke...unless you enjoy very spicy corn.
Best mangonada in the city and I have been around the city.
For some reason the corn-in-a-cup is made with mayonnaise instead of butter, but it was still good. The facilities need work too.
I agree with other reviews even its little expensive to start, compare to other places, the teenager in front with very poor attitude, I would leave him in the back and get someone with better customer service.
They only take cash, but have a great selection of snacks to get you through the day of shopping and site seeing.
Great selection of refreshing food! I enjoyed the elote cup and lime fresca. Kids had the strawberry shaved ice, they loved. Will be back to try some more!
Great place to get North Mexican treats! Very affordable and the test is really good. Check this place out!
I love this place, I really do, but I compare it a lot to McDonald’s with their “oh our ice cream machine is broken” constantly. Every time we visit this location, either the churro machine isn’t working, or they are sold out of churros. I’m writing this review specifically for today because the couple outside was EATING churros when we walked in, so we got excited that we’d finally be able to order some. But, no, still “sold out”. The cashier never looks us in the eye when he breaks the news, so it appears that they just don’t want to take the time to make them.
This place has great customer service and even better food I love the mini churros and ice cream combo . They serve the churros hot it’s amazing ! I’ve also tried the chicken salad sandwich which was very good as well . Overall I would recommend this restaurant as a alternative to any ice cream place as the prices and good along with the food portions.
I love this place. My favorite is the fruit cup. Always fresh always great.
Clean and very helpful staff. Food was good and definately did not use corn from a can on their product. Must try.
The little lady at the counter was so sweet! Very helpful! Everything was delish, we will definitely be returning when we visit San Antonio next time! Thanks!!!
Liked it alot, prices are affordable and the only thing is the guy at the register was not friendly nor had good customer service it made us feel uncomfortable he looked like he didnt like his job, but the lady that gave us the order made a difference she was very nice and jolly, will definitely go back again...
Best place for a quick snack!
Delicious! Super nice, seating is available inside. In a cute shopping center.
I absolutely LOVE this place!! The Tosticeviche is to die! Mangonadas are extra yummy, with the big chunks of ripe juicy mango!😍 Staff is always super friendly and sweet. All their snacks are legit what you would get across the border👍👍.. I live about 10-15min away but Its totally worth the trip!
First time in this place, and it was amazing. Nice staff, super helpful, quick service and delicious snacks. The mangonada has real mango, the manzanas peparadas are amazing! I will definitively come back to this place
Tasty yogurt! My kid has food allergies and its very convenient that all allergens and ingredients are listed.
Would post zero stars if I could considering me and my girlfriend waited about 10 min at the front for someone who works there to appear which turned out to be a complete waste of time. After a few shouts down the hallway to the dude sitting in a chair looking asleep and loud swats to the bells on the door we decided to give up and take our business to a local mom and pop fruteria. Maybe turn down the Lady GaGa next time stop your pre closing 2 hours before your posted close time and tend to your customers, the register iPad was turned completely around to where I could access the register functions, I honestly thought I was supposed to order and send it through myself ha. Don’t go here it has no soul so many more places to go other than this.
The food and drinks are delicious my girls loved it great service it was fast too I would totally go there again
Amazing place, they are the best snacks in SATX! Try them you won’t be disappointed.
Good place to go if you’re looking for a quick snack.
Pretty good and pretty authentic when it comes to Mexican snacks. The only reason I didnt give 5 start was because the corn was hella spicy!!! Lol, still good but take it down a notch. Highly recommend it!
Love this place so far Ive try a few items from the menu and I can honestly say I love it!!!.....I stop at least 2 to 3 times a week after work or during lunch is worth your money portions are big . I highly recommended my kids love this place 😋
We loved this place when they were at the original (tiny) location and its even better now - my favorites are either the fruit cup or the mango shaved ice with a chamoy stick added to either one... Mmmmm! Lots of other options too...
Stopped by here because the line at Sonic was really long. I loved it! Great aguas frescas and the elote was super yummy. Also nice staff and pretty fast service. The place on the inside looks a little small but its cozy in there, and they have a good assortment on their menu to satisfy your cravings. Ill be taking my husband back with me.
Great for a quick bite and tasty treats. Would recommend!
Great service. Not much of a selection.
Best Mexican snacks in all SA! They use white corn for the elote and put real mangos in the mangonada!
Yaaaasss soooo good!!!! You have to try a chamoy apple!
Definitely a great place to get your sweet/spicy fix on!
Best looking mangonadas, but not the best fruit quality, everytime I go they give me unriped mango, its stale, hard, bitter taste and im not talking about 2 or 3 pieces.. its like they dont put enough attention and cutting just to cut and fill orders..just before you leave the store make sure you are satisfied we are paying for fresh quality snacks. Other than that good location and great people.
Mango chamoy drink amazing😍 corn in a cup not so good 😞
LOVED THIS PLACE. but I will WARN YOU or LET YOU KNOW the ceviche (tosticeviche) is only available on WEEKENDS. I did not know until I got their and it was stated in their menu. However it did not affect me since I went on a Saturday (weekend). The ceviche was so good. The drink (mango) was delicious. And so was the corn and tositos preparados. Perfect amount of spice and everything. Super delicious and will go everytime I get the chance to!
The teenager that took my order had a Poor attitude. Had a mineral water that was Awful They drowned it with Their ingredients.
Great selections.. just had to stop by for Hot Cheetos and Cheese!
Delicious snacks! Be careful in ordering anything spicy, they arent playing around ;)
Good service, nice outside seating, snacks that hit the spot!
I got their deal for 5 dollar fill up! it was super cool!
Cool local spot with nice outdoor seating, with a tasty selection of mangonadas, raspados, dulces and other chucherías to snack on.
Clean place! Awesome for some Mexican snacks to help you with cravings! It might get a bit expensive but it’s worth it! I would recommend the mangonadas and the gummy bears with chamoy!
First off, walking into the this location, there is not much room to sit down. Not to mention chairs were ripped and torn. I had seen that Munchies has churros online and on their Instagram page, and that they had ice cream. However, online there were no specifics on flavors. My husband and I arrived and noticed they only have 3 ice cream flavors, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. (Side note: there are no sizes and the flavors of ice cream are also the only flavors of shakes or anything else ice cream related☹️) So we chose strawberry to share, and I asked for an order of churros. The attendant said that churros are a winter snack, and that the season is over. Very confused, we took our ice cream and sat on ripped bar stools. The strawberry ice cream tasted quite bland. Nothing there looked homemade or from good food manufacturers. Overall, an awful experience. I will never go back. Very disappointing.
Below average. Better places on culebra and bandera. Eloté was terrible. The corn was sweet and there was not enough spice. Terrible.
Love their mangonadas. Real pieces of mango on top, large cups. This place is legit.
Loveee it
Very delicious. Place was nice and clean and staff was friendly
Awesome snacks! Very nice and hardworking people.
Awesome staff! Great botanas and damn good rusas!!
This is the go to place because it has great atmosphere, but they tend to run out of things a lot and were forced to order something different or have missing ingredients
One of the best places to get some snacks at :) everything is delicious!
The nachos I ordered were good except the fact they were all soggy I didn’t like that. The magonada was delicious but not the best I’ve had.
Great food to munch on Antojitos Mexicanos, great ceviche great clamatos 😍😋
Excellant mangonadas
Fast...friendly..big portions...I got mangonadas big pieces of mango tamarind straw candy and a order of churros (3) that were filled with yummy gooey carmel tasting something 😀 prices 10 bucks for both
Cool place with great snacks. Friendly people
This place is awesome! Definitely recommend the mangonadas!
I get my clamato here. Pricier than the places on hildebrand and west ave.
Purchased the simple fruit cup with chile, and just so know the fruit cup only came with cantelope, watermelon and pineapple. by the way the watermelon was not fresh tasted like, it was a couple of days old. there was no mango, grapes, coconut, or jicama.next time will drive the distance to Hildebrand or zarzamora fruit locations
Seriously? Did the bag of sugar fall into the can of corn they were opening while making an elote? This is seriously the most sweetest, watery, tasteless imitation Ive ever had the chance of trying. Save your money and time and pass on this disaster.
Munchies has the best mangonadas in town...I know because I really tried every place in town. They top it off with fresh mango cubes and just the right amount of chamoy and a delicious tamarindo straw. About two months ago, they switched to a different tamarindo straw (maybe to save money??) and it tasted awful but Im guessing people complained and they brought back their usual tamarindo straws so all is well again. Also, their corn in a cup is one of the tastiest Ive had, my husband loves it.
There snacks are the bomb my family and I usually go once a week differntly worth it
Grate expirence
They have great mangonada and cucumber cups
DO NOT EAT HERE, I REPEAT DO NOT EAT HERE. THE FRUIT IS OLD AND MOLDY AND THE STAFF IS RUDE. SAVE YOUR TASTEBUDS TRUST ME!!!
