Besides Vietnamese goods, this place offers tons of vegan and vegetarian fake meat options (shrimp, chicken, beef, ham) Predominantly they sell tea (Green, Black, Thai), Coffee (Instant, Vietnamese), sauces (fish sauce, soy sauce), fresh produce (fruit and veggies), and fish. Fun to see candy variations (wafers, mochi, cookies). There is a snack bar with little food court. Parking can be little pain from time to time.
A really great neighborhood Vietnamese (pan-Asian) market. Well stocked, great produce, excellent selection of groceries, clean, organized, and many friendly people to assist. Excellent vegan and vegetarian selection. I will definitely shop here again. Shop local; support small business
Good pricesFriendly staff. A bit of a smell🤣But a variety of foods. No mask requirements. Really good prime rib.
Weve been coming here for years. Their food have been consistently good and authentic Hong Kong flavor. The employees are always helpful and friendly.
DONT SHOP HERE THEY ARE A RIP OFF AND THEIR FRESH FOOD ITEMS ARENT FRESH!!!!I had went to this market yesterday and tried to purchase some items. Upon going to the register when items were rung up the price was more than what the shelf tag said. When I addressed the cashier helping me she argued with me and said the price tags were wrong. Then I proceeded to tell her that there are alot of the product above the tag. She still argued the fact that the tags were wrong. So I told her to get the manager but instead she brought back another employee and the other employee told me I was wrong. I said go check the shelf and youll see that all those items were above the price tag. So the employee went back and checked the shelf and low and behold seen the price tags as I stated but still said the tags were wrong WHAT?. So I told the cashier ringing me up never mind I dont want them just ring me up for the rest of the items. But as she was ringing me up another item that I was trying to buy rang up for $3 more. Buy this time the manager finally came to talk to me and I told her about the price difference. She said fine lets go look. Same thing she seen the price tag said $12.99 vs what the register had rung it up for $15.99. Then the manager proceeded to tell me the price tag was wrong just like her employment told me about the previous items that run up incorrectly. The lesson to be learned is if you wanna shop here make sure you check the price of your items before you go to the register because they will charge you $3 dollars more on items that arent food. But whos to say they dont charge you more on food. This place scams people out of money and argues with them when they get caught charging the customer more. Not to mention they have fresh tofu in the hot case thats supposed to be fresh but when you try to smell it-it smells sour which means the tofu isnt fresh. I will never shop at this place again and I hope a lot of others dont either. The only reason why I shopped at this place is because my daughter works close by and its in the neighborhood. But Id rather go out of my way 20-30 minutes then deal with getting over charged and argued with!
They have quite selections for Asian spices and vegan meat. This is the closer Asian grocer from where I live, convenient location.
Vietnamese grocery store with a good variety of Vietnamese specialty items; however, I would be very skeptical with any purchases from here. Bought a bag of rice which I was told was new for the year and found rice weevils in the bag. Yes, the rice was infested with little black bugs that were ALIVE. This is one of the only stores that carries certain veggies I need for recipes and produce is usually fine within a day or two of purchasing, but everything wilts or goes bad extremely fast. At Vons or Aldi, a pack of green onions would still look decent after 3-4 days. I have never been lucky with produce from here. Also questionable how they stock Kirkland products, and most things are overpriced but I guess they do have the market here since they are one of the two main options for the Vietnamese community in north San Diego.
Neat Asian grocery store! I would like to spend more time here to see everything . Small hot deli too.
Lamborghini very cheap its very good
Great breath of congress of Asian food. The restaurant side also does fast take outs.
Eclectic store with everything I needed for Asian inspired dinner
Its super convenient (centrally based in Mira Mesa) and has 90% of what I need for home cooked Asian meal. From when I can tell based on their boxes and stuff they bring in, definitely looks like super local farms that they are sourcing from, which is great to see :)
Convenient for urgent case..howevercould not find salt in the shelves.
Awesome store! Alot of cool stuff :)
Very large selection of soy, fish, crab, sweet and hot chili sauces.
Has Asian ingredients and also has cooked food to go
Its hard to review a business during pandemic, your experience totaly changes with mask and shields and public freakout. We found great price on box of young coconuts. This store is good stop for basic asian essentials.
Very nice people. Extremely helpful. They have some ingredients that are difficult to find elsewhere.
Asian market, fresh frozen seafoods, asian kinds of vegetables mostly available
Buy Asian food here . Good prices.
If your looking for a traditional Asian/Viet market, then this is it. Not too sure about the bakery:restaurant part of it. But for the groceries part, look no further.
Love the Vietnamese groceries from here. The food place inside the marker has good food too, I like the peking duck and roasted pork a lot
Great place! Per previous post. Still has great prices, selection, and choice. Give them a visit 🙂
I would never have expected to find such a great little restaurant tucked inside this supermarket, but my friend stopped there to get appetizers for a party we were throwing. He brought the salt and pepper chicken wings, and everyone loved them! They were so crispy and fresh, a real crowd pleaser. Well definitely go there again!
I like asian food 👍
Pretty okay. It could be more organized
This is the quintessential Asian/Vietnamese market. For people who are looking for hard to source Asian ingredients, this is the place for you. An amazing fresh meat counter, beautiful fresh fish, great and unique product - true galangal and fresh bamboo shoots. Havent tried the roast Pekin duck yet, or the crispy pork, I had to save something for my next visit!!
Lots of check stands open. Very fast service.
This one of my favorite market to shop for exotic Asian groceries. Not only they have lots of varieties of Asian products imported from overseas, but the prices are fair and reasonable. Give yourself some time to shop and see what they gotta offer. If you have no ideas about stuff you buy but dont know what to do with them, then just ask the cashier ladies. They were trying their best to explain even though their English was quite limited.
Great place for fresh produce
An old Edwards Cinema building turned Asian-Vietnamese supermarket. Its not the largest Asian supermarket in Mira Mesa but they have a good selection of meats and live seafood for less. If only they can improve on cleanliness and apparent hygiene of their staff - by providing one-time use sterile gloves and clean aprons.
Its ok dont have what I was looking for like cool whip
Most stuffs here are expensive. You can find similar things cheaper elsewhere. So I dont recommend this as your primary grocery shopping store.
I wouldnt normally shop here but I got a gift card through my church and they had such a selection of seafood and meats, they also have a very good restaurant within the market. Excellent rice but very expensive. I give it only 3 stars, sorry Im a Vons girl at heart...
Great service 👏
Customer service, No English speaking. They dont know their product, I even show them the photo.
Decent Vietnamese market with good meat prices. Still improving on their not so fresh vegetables. Family friendly cashiers..
Great place for your shopping needs!
Great prices probably the cheapest in mira mesa.
Great place 👌
Great store in Mira Mesa, I came from city heights in San Diego which has way more Asian stores around so coming to Mira Mesa I was a little scared on getting all my herbs and spices but now Im more excited than ever about having this less than a mile from my house. Amazing store. The restaurant inside is incredible as well.
Good produce at great prices. The Asian food selection is huge too. Spices, sauces, noodles, delicacies, baked goods, teas, meats and a variety of eggs. They also have take out, I hear its good but havent tried it personally.
Good place for asian guy.
Vietnamese supermarket with plenty Chinese ingredients too. A very large selection of meat cuts (beef, pork, lamb). Vegetables selection is ok, and fresh. Very clean and bright compared to most Vietnamese supermarkets in San Diego.Four stars because it still misses some items. Frankly, I havent seen any Asian supermarket I would consider a 5 star in San Diego.
Excellent Asian market. Good meat counter.
The best thing I like here is seafood. The only drawback is,they dont clean properly and hence stopped going there. Apart from that you can get all Chinese grocery. The other thing, you have water to fill in reusable bottles. Water quality is good and cheaper ($1/5 gallons),so far what I come across in San Diego and surroundings.
Pretty typical Asian supermarket. Lots of selections, lots of parking, the inside smells funky (to someone who isnt used to the food). My friend who is used to the food says it smells delicious. Not really technologically advanced. Even though the lines arent very long, it always takes forever to check out.
Good selection of fresh meats and vegetables along with many Asian items. The only problem is the indolent attitude of the staff. They seriously need training in customer service.
This place has everything I need for my Vietnamese cooking. There is a great selection at a good price. The bad part is that this place is a little dirtier than Id like but the convenience cant be beat. There is a bakery, restaurant, video store and other small stores connect next door. The dim sum restaurant inside taste great but Id recommend ordering the items to go. Fun fact this place used to be a movie theatre.
Fresh noodles, dry noodles, invisible noodles, and free eggs at $50+. This place has all the Asian cooking foods and utensils you will ever need. Sadly no coffee tho :(
I got coronavirus from here.
Lots of different kinds of Asian and even Hispanic food, good prices and the drinking water outside the store is only 1 dollar for 5 gallons
Asian convenience super market, they even have restaurant inside the store. 1 stop shop and eatout with family.
Small hole in the wall market. They always have great specials from 50 cents cans of chicken broth to cheap noodles. The meat specials here are pretty good. They have a wide variety of fish and seafood you can choose from. Make sure to check out the dim sum store inside the market.
I like how well maintained the store is. There are good selections of Asian products. The checkout process was quick as well.
I have been coming to Vinh Hung vietnamese supermarket in mira mesa since they were open. Never failed, the staff are so helpful and super friendly. Will return soon.
They really stepped it up during this pandemic a lot of the vegetables comes already bagged so you dont have to worry so much of it being out in the open.
Good for fish and meat
Feels like go into the old theater. Have all fixings for Asians dishes
Good amount of variety and options however they dont always have the fruits I want.
Good eateries in the food court, especially the one inside the store, but the grocery is low on dumpling choice, mushroom choice. A fair selection of noodles and produce, but *some* of the latter seems sometimes on the verging on spoiling, and employees are unable to tell me where items are. Low variety in soup cups — nothing like the variety of Asian markets like Hankook and Marina in the Cupertino/ Silicon Valley/ San Jose area. I still go here a lot because of the fresh noodle selection.
Store very clean and well stocked. Price is reasonable. Check out line moving steadily.
Great selection of hard-to-find Asian foods.
We love getting fresh meat here. A bit small but prices are good
This place is very good and clean. I usually get cat fish from here.
Good
It’s ok places. Can buy meat, seafood here!
This place is good. Prices are good, selection is big
Has all the essentials for Vietnamese food. Not s fancy place. Acceptable. Affordable prices on everything. Good produce section. Rarely crowded.
Affordable stuff made from Vietnam.. I expected the vegetables coming from them are fresh but not, it only last for 3days..
Great prices, wish the staff maybe spoke more english but like who really cares it’s an Asian market after all, I can find the coconut milk myself.
Wished they had more varieties of Halal Mooncakes from Malaysia...
Always a large section of vietnamese ingredients
Very nice people. Nice variety of food!
Love the way they clean their fish..very clean.Great price..got my salmon head for 2 99/lb they are big and has meat not just head
Great produce section, good prices, seafood is good selection also. Nice staff, friendly and fast.
Great quality cheap meat. Hamburger is decent quality for less than $2/lb..
Shabby appearance, but good prices, especially for veggies/chicken/pork. Worth it if you pick out their fresh stuff.
Good stuff
A full-on, no-hold-barred, this-is-not-Ralphs Vietnamese grocery store. The building used to be an old movie theatre long ago, and its still fun to wander the aisles of fish-sauce, condensed milk, and other condiments most Americans have never heard of while wondering if Big Trouble in Little China was screened here. They have greats deals on things you might find in a supermarket, especially coffee for Vietnamese cafe. Theres a small food-court type setup that looks more like an alley in Chinatown and its fun to pretend youre somewhere other than a shopping plaza in Mira Mesa when out getting some sesame seed balls.
Good place to place to buy all your asian ingredients to make Thai, Vietnamese and or even Chinese foods. Rice noodles, holy basil, mint, etc.
Like a trip to Asia this place is loaded with true authentic ingredients. All be it this is not the greatest of Asian grocery stores it features a small section with kitchenware at low cost that is a lesser known score in the area.
Great grocery store with many unique items!
My wife and I make the drive from North County from time-to-time, and always love visiting this place. Great selection, and fresh Asian ingredients we cant find anywhere else.
I normally go here to get asian snacks for a really good price. They have a bakery inside the building where you can get fresh loafs of bread for a really low price.
Store is good but food is even better
Want fresh vegetable? Go some place else, grocery outlet around the corner in the same plaza.
Get everything I need
Neighborhood market kind-of-a-feeling.
Like Asian supermarkets. They have great selections
Everything I need, they had. Nice people.
A perfect store to find the essentials for cooking all types of Asian food.
Nice vietnamese place. Lots of vegetables, fruits, and meat choices.
I bought some chili pepper hot sauce here and when I got it home to enjoy it, I saw the seal was broken and there was mold inside. There are some good things here just be very careful.
Standard Asian grocery store with just that little bit of funk to make it unappealing to an average American. Not clean like H-Mart. But still good prices on produce.
Underwhelming Vietnamese market. Probably fine for locals who need staple Asian foods, but if youre coming from the freeway, its not worth the drive over surface streets vs jetting down the freeway for a visit to 99 Ranch or Zion Market.
