I went to this body shop after being hit in the right rear. My advisor was very friendly and helpful. My vehicle was repaired in less than two weeks and the quality of the repairs are outstanding. Of course they detailed my vehicle and did a very good job at that as well

I chose Penske because I had a good experience with the Escondido dealership when I purchased my first Mazda there in 2014. I called the dealership to get a recommendation. I live in Escondido so when I was referred to the Penske Collision Center SD I called ahead to ask about the process. I scheduled an appointment to bring my car in because it was my only car and I needed to make arrangements to do without it while it got repaired. I was told initially 40 minutes to assess the work needed and 3 days to complete it. When I took it in I was then told the work might take 2 weeks. When I called a week later to ask about progress on my car they had not even begun the work. (I was frustrated and angry that a week of my time and money was wasted that way) When the car was determined a total loss I came down the next day to fetch the items from my vehicle that I wanted so it could be released to the insurance company and I gave my consent in writing but my insurance company was not able to get the car because there was no response from Penske. I had to call and request that the car be released again a week after I already gave my consent because my insurance could not pay me until it was released which slowed the process of me replacing my vehicle. This was another week of my time and money being wasted. So this is why I did not want to recommend or refer other people here. If I ever have to take my car to a collision center for repair again I will be looking closer to home.
Had to replace the door on our GLC300. I was offered a tour of their facility during my first visit. They won my confidence with that tour. The final results was impressive. You would never know there is a new drivers door - the car looks just like it did when it came from the factory. Thanks!
I was referred by San Diego Lexus after a hit-and-run on my parked RX350. Sarah was my contact, great communication and overall customer service. Seamless co-ordination with my insurance company. They took care of everything. Beautiful repairs. Perfect paint match. My 8 year old car looks like new. I couldnt be more pleased.
Would give 5 stars, but this last time when I picked up my car, it was covered in what appears too be water spots… problem is the roof has a wrap and still have been unable to clean it up…. So now having to consider redoing the wrap..was disappointed in the car not being cleaned or returned as clean as it was before the service

Great service at a great price
Penske Collision did a wonderful job in fixing my Toyota Corollas bumper. Even though, the car is practical use they still worked and fixed up the vehicle efficiently. Most of the car that get fixed here are German and Japanese cars. The front desk people are there to help out if you have any questions and concerns. They use to have free coffee and water. Due to covid they dont serve it . If you bring your own cup or water bottle you can still use the coffee machine. They dont provide disposable cups.

This was the only certified place to work on my car in San diego. You have to keep calling them for updates. They totalled my car but never called to let me know and had said theyd follow up after the mechanic looked at it. They have good customer service when u do talk to someone.
I feel like I wasted my time and money here. I had two different claims, one for my glass and the other for the rear. I was told they would try to get it under one claim and they’ll call if they needed the other claim number. I was 100% offering to give both because I just wanted my glass fixed so I could avoid a ticket and get everything done. My car was there for almost 5 weeks. The first week and a half it was waiting for my insurance to approve because the estimated cost was way more than initially said, before they could order the parts. In that time, I spent $600 on a car rental (being under 25). Luckily, I went back home for two weeks so I didn’t need a car rental anymore. My car was supposed to be finished in that time, but there was an issue with wrong parts being ordered. I didn’t find out until I called before returning to town if I’ll be able to pick up on the following business day. That’s when they told me the unfortunate news, and I told them that I wasn’t planning on getting a rental because it was supposed to be done already....so they offered me a free car rental or $100 off my deductible. Obviously the car rental. After 5 days with the rental, my car was ready. When I picked it up, everything seemed nice until I got my keys and a business card to call for my glass repair....I’m taking my car somewhere else for that. Hopefully where they won’t waste my time.
I took my truck, which is my pride and joy, to Heidi Howie. She and her technician Theo are your go-to for all of your paint and body needs, along with anything else that you desire, or that your vehicle may need. They are without a doubt the best in the business. They are perfectionists, and they treat your vehicle as if it is one of their own. I am ecstatic with the finished product, which is nothing short of show quality. I have gotten multiple compliments on their outstanding work. Thank you guys so much for your hard work, strong work ethic, professionalism, dedication, and for making it such a pleasant process!

I would definitely recommend Penske Collision Center San Diego to anybody who needs bodywork done to their vehicle. The work they done on my 2020 Toyota Tacoma Truck was simply amazing. And, only short of a miracle because only God can perform those. My truck looks untarnished and as good as it did when I drove it off the car dealer lot when brand new. I took my prized possession to Penske for a fender bender. Mike kept me updated throughout the process although I didn’t have an urgent need for the return of my vehicle. I found the vehicle to be very clean inside and out. It took a little longer than expected but I was okay with it as long as the job was professionally done. Well, I am no longer reserved about driving a car with a damaged fender. Mike also offered me a rental car since the job was taking a bit longer but sometimes going to get the car rental place can be more trouble than it’s worth but I appreciated the offer. Overall, I would take my vehicle to them again despite the distance from my home.

Crappiest experience I have ever had with a collision center Matt merrier wouldn’t recommend letting attend any process here. Should have known better than to go here as when I arrived to drop off the car in the beginning they were going through a customer complaint of roof damage not being fixed from initial drop off. I dropped off my vehicle for rear fender damage and a month later get it back with chipped paint to the repairs. Such a waste of time, money, and space to attempt to say they are about the quality of service and or work. Rate a -15 if was an option. Never again. You shouldn’t either.

Petty complaints miss the point. This is the finest most expensive body shop in town. They do real volume and get it right the first time. Their work goes through a series of checks each step and if it doesnt match up to their high standard they send it back through the line. Their high standard of craftsmanship makes cars later than what they might orginially state. But what do you want? The highest quality from here or what the other guys offer? I would rather have their top shelf refined quality and wait a litle longer. The quality beyond all others is why you come here. To understand this place, who they are and what they do, you know you have really got something when they build your car back from a wreck to where you have got your car back looking and driving like new again. In all the cars they worked on, it loooked like new when finished and I never once had to come back to have them fix something.
This place was absolutely amazing they handled my entire claim with my insurance company kept me updated through it all. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family! Sam was very kind in assisting me and explaining to me the entire process of how the buyback process works with a salvage vehicle as well as giving me enough time to think it over ! 10 stars if possible

I took my BMW there a few years ago for some minor repairs after an accident, and you could not tell the difference between the original factory paint and the work Penske had done; so when a rock hit my new car causing damage to the hood and windshield, I did not think twice about what body shop Id take my car to. My advisor, Kenneth, kept me informed as to the status of my repairs, and made the experience as painless as possible. My car is getting fixed properly now. They were great in dealing with the repairs and making the modifications to the issues that I found repaired or fixed. They are AAA approved, so adjusters are on site, quotes get processed and approved quickly. Would definitely go back for repairs. My reparations are lifetime guaranteed too.Anything, I go back and let them know what the issues are; they will take care of them.Service manager was very attentive and took care of anything I needed.

I recently had someone back into my car in a parking lot and while it was minor damage, it was still a huge inconvenience. Erin Cruz was phenomenal in making this a stress free experience. She was excellent at keeping me informed throughout the entire process, keeping the insurance company updated and getting my car back to me quickly (with a fresh wash as well). Horrible experience will definitely not be using this shop ever again. was lied to since day 1 about everything, I had my 2007 Honda Civic Si towed to Penske after the driver side door was involved in an accident. The advisor Mike who was my point of contact was not informative at all, and to be completely honest with you it would take me 10 paragraphs to explain in detail how I was treated as a return customer, however after being disrespected by multiple Penske staff and (Management) I will tell all of my friends and family members on social media to stay away from this shop! It seems to me if you have a little Honda Civic and not an Audi or European car, well your not worth Penskes time.
Also, Sarah Farsian was wonderful to work with. I felt taken care of from the minute I started working with Sarah, with her detailed, thoughtful, and consistent manner of communication.
Kenny and The Bumper Boyz did a beautiful job of replacing my bumper, grill and medallion. The went the extra mile to assure the paint exactly matched the pearl white on my Toyota. They even polished my headlight covers! The girls in the office are polite and helpful and are very prompt in handling requests for information. However, I was without a car for about two weeks. I was not informed that parts are not ordered until a payment is made. So, shame on me for not asking more questions. I could have given Precision the insurance check and had the use of my car until the parts arrived. Excellent work and high quality staff.
I own a BMW X5 and that is why I decided to take it here because they are a BMW certified repair shop. I dropped off my car Aug 14. It is now Sept 19, and I have not heard from them. They have a lack of communication. I am tired of calling and leaving messages. No one never answers the phone. I got hit at a stop light and was told that the job would be done in 3 days. It has been more than a month to replace a bumper and paint. The insurance was paying for my rental, which was due Sept 14, 30 days after. I addressed this issue to Penske Collision, in an email, and voice message. I requested they pay for my new rental because of the lack in time with the repairs. I have been left with no car for 5 days. I need to go to work and pick up my kids from school. This is ridiculous. I left my car Aug 14 and they sent the supplement request Aug 27. That is 13 days after. I would never recommend this place and would most definately never go back. I haven’t even seen my car. It better look good after all this time in the shop. I need someone to call me and I need to speak to a Supervisor. This has gone way and beyond. The person in charge of my repair is Erin Cruz. It is just ridiculous. Every single time I call she never picks up the phone. If they had 0 Star rating I would give them that instead of a 1.
UPDATE. 12/09After my post I was immediately contacted by Mr. Fahim i was treated in a very professional manner and ALL of my concerns were immediately addressed and fixed! I just really appreciate there forthcoming! Made things RIGHT! Only reason don’t change it to five Star was because of my original encounter!It took me few days to decide to write this review. I was in an accident with 2012 Mercedes. I took it they said no problem get it fixed it would take approximately 3-4 weeks.Almost seven weeks later after numerous attempts on my part to obtain information about the vehicle. NO customer service no communication by them. I had to consistently send emails to get any type of feed back. My car was returned. The day I picked it up. I was handed the key with no offer of a walk thru no apologizes just here is your key the exit is this way. The car sat for almost seven weeks it was poorly washed and no type of anything was offered car had less then a quarter tank gas. But they did get a 14000.00!!! check from my insurance company.
You spend almost half a month to repair my car. It’s a little long. I hope you can repair a little quickly. Thanks

Super professional. Class act. My job just took longer than expected due to the nature of my repairs. I had a timing conflict on pick up so I told them they didn’t have to wash it. However, I did not expect the entire inside of my van to be very dusty. Not sure why but the entire inside was pretty dirty.
Amanda and the people who fixed our bumper on our 2015 SUV Lexus did an awesome job! I would not hesitate to use them again. The first time we came to get the car the color was not a perfect match but they furnished me a loaner car and, when I went back, the car was ready and the paint matched perfectly!
My AAA advisor Amanda was amazing. Looking at the rest of the comments its obvious she is excellent at her job. Great communication by the team. My car looks brand new and was cleaned inside. Having a car rental place inside the facility is also a great convenience.I cant really comment on any technical skills, estimate accuracy, etc...

Adding in previous review regards Paul Gorden:I went in 04 September for estimate on 2 collisions. Paul sent me an email with total number of each estimate but only one attachment out of two. I called, left messages for him, 2 days later still nothing. I decided to send a reply email stated the missing info I need. Another 2 days gone by. I called more than enough times so I left a message with the customer representative to delivery it to him in person. Today, I take it that Paul Gorden acts on Penske Collision Balboa behalf, decides they do not need my business. I find its amazing that I am the customer and I have to work harder than the employee who works there for Penske to earn its business. I have to choose at least one star for this review. If only there is a choice of zero star!!!! Now, I leave it up to you if you would like to bring your car there.
They call them selves the best but they are the worst, they will charge you top dollars but dont even have the decency to call you, my car has been in the shop over 15 days and i am calling every day and cant get a hold of anyone. Emailed service manager no response, called and tried to reach manager, no response, i was assured 4 times manager will call you but no one called or update me. after being frustrated for so long i am writing a review to let other people know how bad these people are and its time to look for a better shop -- extremely poor customer service.

I had a phenomenal experience at Penske Collision Center. The staff welcomed me and treated me like part of a family. They evaluated my needs and quickly assessed the work that needed to be done. I did not expect to have the repair completed the same day but they performed the work within an hour. The work exceeded my expectations. If you ever have to go to this place make sure you don’t get a person named Kenny. He’s the most incompetent, unprofessional employee they have, and they have A LOT of them. So I went there around 11 am to get an estimate. He said he’ll email me by noon. Then 1 pm I had to call 5 times to get a hold of anyone. Finally the reception said they will get back to me in 20 mins, then 3 hrs later I had to call again. They finally transfer me to his desk, at which point he said it’ll be an hour and a half or so. So I call again, his manager to speak to their answer machine! My whole day.. gone, why not? After all we’re mortals.

I could not be happier with the service and quality of repairs on my MB 2015 GLA250 from Penske. Becky is incredibly helpful and attentive (even when I am hard to reach!), always taking the time to listen to my additional concerns and be upfront about some of the challenges that come along with these vehicles. Thank you for taking such great care - I wish that the first time I used Penske last year was the only time I would need to visit them, but Im glad to know I had a trusted business I could return to with a recent accident.

My 2018 Audi was damaged by flying debris on the road causing a broken windshield, and several small dents on the hood and doors. None of the repair shops in my insurance carriers network were Audi certified so I selected the Penske Collision Center Auto Body shop to repair my car. I am very pleased with the quality of the OEM parts and the workmanship. The repair took a little longer than usual since the shop was not in my insurance network, however they approved all the work and covered the cost of repairs minus the deductible which was my responsibility. My advisor was Mike Manzo who is a not only very easy going and a really friendly gentleman but he is also a well informed and detail oriented professional whom can be counted on for assistance from start to finish.Based on my own experience I highly recommend Penske Collision Center to anyone looking for a great auto body repair and paint shop.

It took some time to get my car repaired but they kept me posted all along. They used OEM parts per my request even though insurance covered only after market part. I really appreciate that. Ive taken one star off because they assured me that OEM part will fit perfectly but it did not. They gave me same excused at the end what other collision center had given me in the past. Disappointed again on quality work.

Penske definitely knows their business. We had some glitches, but not all their fault. the best part is they assigned me to a liaison, Amanda Aguilar. She was my saving grace. She was there informing me of the delays and understanding my frustration.She made me feel okay with everything and was there to the very end, even to get my car and walk me out. She is a gem and it is important and smart of Penske to have such a person.The job they did, was supurb, and they gave me my car back extremely clean.

I was told this shop would do an amazing job for my OCD about my car. The paint was perfect that was the thing I was the most worried about. There was however overspray on the car that they said they were willing to take care of but when they started running there hands all over my dusty car it made my upset and uncomfortable as that could scratch the paint I understand they were feeling for over spray but they should have looked for it like it did because you could see it. Also there were some clips and things missing most of witch I ended up just replacing myself but one of them they did and the clip was on back order so 2 months after fist taking the car to them it’s finally back to how it was. I’ve sadly had to work with other body shops and even with the issues I’ve had with this shop it’s far less of an issue then I have had before. Sad I have to lower my standers but this seams to be a standard in this business you can’t be OCD like me. Again they did a very very good job on the paint witch is the big part of the deal the rest of it is easy to fix.
This is also my first time getting work done at this business establishment, Let me say I am extremely impressed by the amount of dedication and sincerity from their staff. I personally like to thank two employee at Penske that assisted me throughout the process, they are Beatriz Aguirre and Mike Cassidy. I extremely appreciate the amount of effort they have provided to help me and my family. Beatriz has been very sincere from day one when we left our vehicle there, even on the last day I had to pick up my car she went above and beyond. Even though I wasnt able to make the required time frame of open hours, she was nice enough to stay behind to help us. Her smile made me feel welcome every time I came into the office. And Mike have been very responsive to our questions, he provided expert opinions to us. Even questions of how our insurance company deals with Penske which alleviated a lot of the worries we were experiencing before coming to Penske.
