Bright my car in Monday and it was ready Tuesday afternoon. Good service. Fair labor rate of $75/hour. Some shops charge as much as $125/hour or more. Had preventative maintenance done. Oil change, new filter, new air filter, new fuel filter, transmission fluid flushed and added new fluid. Brake inspection, new spark plugs, tire pressure check and added air, prompt service and good value for all of the services.

Horrible customer service. The lady at the desk was so rude and abrupt to talk to and deal with. The mechanic was also the same way, very cold in how they interact. The waiting room was very hot, not a single fan to be able to breathe. Not sure what stands out here that I can’t find elsewhere. Planning not to come here ever again.

Ive rarely had good experiences with auto shops but I cant say good things about this place. I came in because my check engine light was on and I needed it to pass a smog test. Other shops charge over $100 to do a diagnostic test but I called Hi Auto and they offered to do it for only $65 so I immediately brought it in. Matt was very helpful taking the time to explain what each code meant and he was able to fix the issues without charging me a fortunate in parts in labor. Im very pleased with their customer service and will definitely bring my car back here again in the future!

They installed a catalytic converter protector that i ordered from San Jose for my Prius. They did a great job and let me know it was going to be double the price as there was more work needed than originally believed. I saw the work and we proceeded. Very professional is Matt and his father. Excellent timing and a very efficient upfront office staff

Had an issue and little time. Called Hi Auto they looked at my car and day. The problem was solved the car is running. Unlike other garages they dont try and milk you for money. This is the problem this is what we are going to do. If course they have me a heads up on other issues that may firm but did not push me to spend more cash that day.

His Auto Repair was a breath of fresh air. I went to a few other shops one being suspension Plus and was given a very unreasonable quote. I took my F150 to His and was greeted by Matthew. Matthew and another mechanic inspected my vehicle and found items that Suspension Plus had missed. I received a reasonable and fair quote from Matthew and am very thankful for Hi Auto Repairs team! I needed good Honda mechanics to service my Civics issues without charging me an arm and a leg. And I got lucky happening upon Hi Auto Repair. Not only were they very good but in my opinion they were exceptionally economical as well. I think on many jobs they did for me they could have charged more but. I was just very happy that I found them.

All I can say is I’m a loyal customer of Mr. Hi!I always feel like I’m listened to when I go in, which is so important to me, as I’ve been dismissed or talked down to by former mechanics. I may be a woman, but I’m not stupid and I’ve owned old cars all my life. I’m currently driving a 2007 Ford Escape. Mr. Hi and the manager Matthew are very honest with me. They tell me what they can and can’t do and give good advice for saving money and keeping the car running as long as possible.I send everyone I know here. I can’t recommend this shop enough.

I came in for a check engine light diagnostic. Hai said it would be a couple hours- no problem. 2.5 hours later he tells me they didn’t do the diagnostic yet said he saw another problem and wanted to charge another diagnostic fee. I asked what happened to the first one. Long story short he didn’t do anything.Waste time time!

Seeing as how I am not from the area, I decided to look online for an auto shop perhaps with good reviews. When I tell you how much I really love and respect Hi Auto Repair, its uncanny. My mechanic was Matt and he was so knowledgeable about my car. I cannot thank him enough for his service and everyone with car issues should go to Hi Auto.

I just went there last week to get my catalytic comverter replaced, 2015 ford transit connect, they did it in less than 3 hours price was good to me and fast service Hi was really profecional and always good attitude.

Hi and his team have taken such good care of me... sometimes Im blown away with how well they run a repair shop. I have a 2002 Ford Focus and whenever something has gone wrong... Hi has provided top notch service at an extremely affordable price. I have checked out other low cost repair shops for work and Hi still beats all of their prices! Not to mention his work is solid... Hi Auto is a very dangerous for your car to go to. If you go in for a repair, your car might come out more broken than it came in. I asked the shop to change my cooling fan car and they broke my air conditioner in the middle of summer leaving me hot and Stranded. The mechanics proceeded to find ways to charge me fees to find out how they broke my car, And the main problem with the cooling fan still was not fixed .Hi Auto has given me the worst experience Ive had with a San Diego mechanic, Bring your car to HI Auto at your own risk.

I loved the service at Hi Auto Repair. I needed to find and build a long-term relationship with a local, honest auto repair shop. We only own one car. They were recommended to me when my husband and I moved here this month. It was important to us get to know the local businesses in the area. I had to get a smog check on my vehicle. It took about 10 minutes and they electronically notified the DMV for me. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Ive been going to Hi Auto Repair for a couple years now and Matt is forsure my permanent mechanic and one of the few people I trust to work on my car. Ive had my fair share of car issues and Matt is always responsive via text or even phone call if needed. He always makes sure to explain to me exactly whats happening with my car in lamens terms so that I can understand what hes doing and why hes doing it. Hes also great for general work on the car like oil changes and things like that. I live in OC and come home to SD for my car work so that should say enough! They also always get the work done in a timely manner, its just a matter of what time you come in. So I would definitely recommend checking out Hi Auto Repair and working with Matt or Hi (the owner).

I have taken my cars to Hi for the better part of two decades. Hi Auto mechanics are reasonable, personable and honest and they spot automobile issues quickly. When I get a car, I will ask the mechanics at Hi if they can work on it -- such is my reliance on Hi Auto to keep me and my family on the road!

They gave me a quote and charged me $950 only for me to have to have it towed to another mechanic because they couldnt fix the car for me to drive. The owner doesnt speak English. Very poor attitude, and unprofessional. Used to be good, but this time Hai was angry that someone else worked on my 22 year old van! Broke things that were working before, and failed to complete the repair. Left screws out of my dash on the floor.Been taking cars to him for many years, sent many friends, but can no longer recommend. Unfortunate.

My go to mechanic. Very honest and reasonably priced.

My buddy got took his truck in. They charged him 2400 for a head gasket and valve adjustment and didnt even bother to see if it was a symptom of something else and returned the vehicle still with a check engine light and over heating. They told him it was good but then when he got it back and it overheated (after 10 miles) again it was shrugged off. Then the crank shaft gave out. After the run around to see what itd take they eventually said itd take 1300. Then raised it to 2800 to redo the head gasket and a rod that bent (yes he was charged twice for the head gasket) and finally got the vehicle back still overheated and a check engine light that didnt previously exist and has confirmed with by 2 other diagnostics that the cause was the transmission slipping. In my experience the employees werent disrespectful, but were dishonest and negligent. I know not every job is as simple as first perceived but it seems to me they were playing him.
