Nate did an amazing job on my tattoo. Super funny and made the experience great. Visiting from Minnesota and he made me want to make the drive to get every piece done by him.

Overpriced for nose piercing went to Hillcrest and paid half of what they was asking

So basically I have to tell you Garrett is fantastic. He is my tattoo artist. He is able to look at a picture that I send him and then somehow freehand draw it and get it posted on to my body. Hes a great artist. Did I mention that he holds a great conversation why tattooing. My last tattoo took about 2 hours full color and the size of a giant great fruit.

I love Steph. Actually I love everyone here. They are so warm and welcoming. But steph is my tattooist and she is amazing. Her details are insane. Her work is technically 3D. Everyone needs to see her or her guys at her shop. There is no where else to go other than Vivid Tattoo

Nice place. Had Andrew as a piercer. The bar he gave me for my nipple piercings was too small, but he was very kind and gentle and understanding. The place was clean and comfortable.

Got some piercings here for the best price in all of SD! The artists were professional and friendly. Made you feel comfortable. Located in a really cool spot in hillcrest. Their studio is sick! Very happy with my piercings! Thank you Vivid Tattoo!

Steph is an amazing tattoo artist. She has done 3 of my tattoos and fixed a fourth. I couldnt recommend her more. The rest of the staff is just as talented and make you feel comfortable while being stabbed with a needle thousands of times a minute.

My friends and finance have gotten most of our tattoos here. Each of the artists are friendly and knowledgable (and talented). They are welcoming to new comers and returning customers. I am always very pleased with the work they do! Will always come back.

This is a rad shop. Its comfortable, in a great location, and everyone I spoke with was incredibly friendly. Roman did an amazing job at a reasonable price and was super friendly to boot. Im not from San Diego, but Ill return here when Im back in town.

I am completely appalled by the professionalism of Vivid Tattoo. I went this year with my girlfriend and I only asked for 3 letters (initials) that came out completely messed up. I went back for a cover up. They did offer to fix it, but at that point I just wanted a small cover up about 1inx1in. I understand a small fee might be assessed for a different artist. Im not above recognizing someone elses work. And I was told it was an additional 150$ for an original 80$ messed up tattoo. When I asked them why it was 150$ when I paid 80$ for a botched job, they said, well ill discount you, only 120$. To put it in perspective, my best friend got a tattoo that night that covered about 6-7 inches of her arm and it was 200$ total. My 3 initials (1/2 in big each) came out to 200$ after my initial 80$ screwed up job and 120$ discounted to fix it. DONT GO HERE! Their is plenty of more reputable places.

I had a tattoo Steph did on my shoulder 8 years ago that needed some loving so of course I came back to her. I am so happy I did. I absolutely love my tattoo! I cant stop staring at it lol. So, I came into San Diego from out of town on vacation and I was set on getting my nose pierced while I was in town. I waited until the last night of my trip to make it happen and that just so happened to be Labor Day. After calling dozens of places I finally got in touch with Someone and they let me know the piercer would be there at the end of the day, the price was in my budget too. I was all about it.I call to make sure they were there before heading out and it turns out the employees left home early! I messaged their Facebook and was able to get in contact with some one and they sent out an amaaaazing piercer! I got pierced by Ms. Heather and she was the sweetest, most patient woman ever. She let me know the differences in placement between a stud and a ring and let me know what was happening even though I had my eyes closed. She instructed me on how to care for my new piercing and let me know I could contact her at any time.I am so grateful I was able to get my nose pierced and with someone AMAZING!

Steph is the best!. I recently lost my bestfriend (dog) Roscoe. I asked Steph to put his paw print on my forearm to show he made an impression on me. I wanted to have him with me forever. Steph gave me exactly what I wanted. Steph is a talented artist and has an excellent t work ethic. Shop is clean and easy to get to.

I saw Jena and she did awesome work. Super happy with how it came out and will be back for more.
