Paid a lot but received inaccurate info. And I had ro rent a car because the process was slow. Too many cars for the space they have. Work on cars above their knowledge of expertise. Most of the mechanics work on the sides of their parking areas.They have NO additional parking space.Smooth talkers, limited English speakers. Gee, thats handy.$400 after diagnostics &;were unable to n Smog. They said the car was badicly DEAD. Took it to another shop; replaced Oxygen sensor &;smogged it ! A miracle ? Nah.2001 Chev. Lumina. What?

I needed a walk-in smog check for my 1999 Lexus, and they were able to take me right away. I appreciated Kelvins friendly and professional manner, and my job was finished within an hour (a reasonable amount of time for an older car). It was nice to know that my exhaust system was all in good condition. Great place to wait during service is the Lebanese cafe just behind Clairemont Auto. All together, one of the easiest smog checks ever.

Awful. Would give 0 stars if it was an option. I went in to get my passenger side power window fixed, was told it was $465. Power side window worked fine, and was replaced by the dealership 2 years prior. The passenger side window was the original.I agree to $98 towards diagnostics to be applied towards fix. They called me back confirming that the passenger side window regulator was broken, but then the added that coincidently, the drivers side power window just happened to break in their shop too!So out of all the years it was operating fine, and replaced just a few years back, thousands of windows up, windows down, it just so happened at that one window roll-up they do, the drivers side happened to break too while in their shop. Seems pretty bogus. Remember, the originals lasted many more years, statistically really unlikely.But they quoted me a discounted price to fix it, which was barely less than the original $465 price/window. After I said no and that Id be picking the car up without fixing it, they then called me back and said they could give me a wholesale price for less, still neglecting the fact *they broke something on my car while it was in their possession*They also tried to tell me if I installed the window regulators myself, Id still have to bring them in to be programmed (false info).Shady as hell, if they had any decency theyd either a) Fix what they broke on my car for free, or at the very least waive the diagnostics fee.So in the end, I ended up *paying them* to leave with a car more broken than when I brought it in.Refund my diagnostics fee!AVOID.

Clairemont auto care went above and beyond for smogging my truck. Vic with customer service even extended their 30 day allowance to resmog my vehicle after it failed initially so I had ample time to get the issues fixed.

They buy up bottom barrel .02 cent garbage pen batteries and sell them as name brand products. Bought an E-vod twist (looks exactly like Ego twist). He plugged it in to prove it charged before selling, get it home and it holds charge for all of 10 seconds and dies. If its not living on a charger, it dies. Pure rubbish.

I have used them for many different auto care reasons and they have always figured out what was wrong and the best way to fix it. The other day I needed my truck smogged and they were on it as soon as I pulled up and I was on my way in 15 minutes! I came here by myself asking to check for a gas leak. Got charged $80 for diagnostics which is fine, turns out there’s no gas leak. They then recommended $860 worth of repairs which is 100% unnecessary. I asked many mechanics and they all agree this is atrocious scamming. Pity they are trying to take advantage of a young woman’s lack of knowledge of car parts. I’m a student too so I couldn’t afford any of this, glad I asked for second opinions. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Never coming back here again.

I have a similar story to Emma in the other reviews. They asked for $80 for a full safety inspection, and I understand that the have to run a business, but asking for $2,000 worth of repairs for a 2007 Honda Civic is absurd. I went to a different mechanic who asked for $850 instead. Also, I did not appreciate the fact that they would talk to me without a mask on and that the pricings/quotes were handwritten and different from the printout copy the manager had for himself. I wanted to like this place, and it seems like a good spot for smog checks, but I will not come back here for repairs.

Albert Markos is excellent when it comes to customer service.I need a break flush for my Toyota Prius and he was able to do the job in 30 mins. He quoted me 70% less the Toyota Dealship and did an excellent job. Highly recommend their services!!

I took my car into Clairemont Auto Care as my check engine light had just come on. They enthusiastically took my car in for diagnostics.....AND gave me a ride home!!! An hour later they called with the results of the diagnostics. They went over each point......with the price of the repair..and what could wait for a later date. I had them take care of everything. Later that afternoon my car was ready. It runs like a dream!!!! I have taken my car there three times now.....have always received quality car repair and excellent customer service.

Kelvin explained the problem easily so I could understand the problem.

I brought my vehicle into AL on 1/8/21 for a slow leak in the rear shock. I mentioned that the rear shocks were on warranty and if needed to be replaced to please let me know. The diagnostic fee was $80 which I agreed to. AL called within a few hours saying that it was in fact not the shocks but a fitting that needed to be tightened. Over the next five days we were working on a speedometer issue. nothing was mentioned about the shocks except for the fact that it was holding air as he said it had been fixed by tightening said “loosefitting”. On 1/13/21 he called and said that the rear shocks or in fact still leaking slowly!! After explaining repeatedly that I told him five days ago that this part was on warranty and if it needed to be replaced to let me know and then I did not feel comfortable paying him $80 for something that I told him five days ago that he diagnosed it with something completely different (the loose fitting) on day one of the car being there. after an intense back-and-forth over the phone in which he screamed and yelled refused to listen and talked at me and over me that I had two hours to come get my vehicle (this was 2pm and he said I had until 4pm) out of nowhere or he was going to start charging me a holding fee every night and that I still owed the $80 for the diagnostic fee even though I told him exactly what was wrong with the vehicle, that the part (rear shocks) were on warranty, and the fact that the car was there for five days they could’ve easily been replaced. This man is a crook Al is a liar ans a thief of honest people !!! don’t even bring your car here even for an oil change they get all of your interior completely greasy and are not keeping up with standard Covid practices. no one is wearing a mask or gloves while inside your vehicle. I had to leave work to come get my vehicle in a rush my Lyft driver said to me as he was dropping me off he had a horrible experience there and would never be coming back this absolutely confirmed everything I thought to be true about the honesty and integrity about this business they steal they lie the work is not honest AL is a thief do not bring your car here. Fantastic store with some of the best imported water pipes I have seen. Surprisingly high quality dab rigs with thoughtfully designed percolators. Clairmont auto also has fantastic e liquid, dab rig accessories, and most everything an occasional or daily smoker would ever need.

My first-time experience was positive. Albert and the other technicians I interacted with were professional and straight-shooters, providing an accurate cost estimate and the time it would take to complete the repair of my windshield wipers. Since I inherited my 2002 Buick LeSabre from my parents, I have taken it only to Marvin K Brown in Mission Valley for servicing, but that is a long trek considering I live near UCSD. I recently had to get a smog test done and I found Clairemont Auto Care on Yelp, conveniently located at the corner of Clairemont Mesa Blvd and Genesee. I was pleased with the smog test and they provided me with some servicing suggestions. I checked my records and it looked like the servicing they suggested was needed so I made a follow up appointment to get that done. My wife and I dropped off the Buick and walked to a nearby Dennys for breakfast. Upon return I was told that I had a worn out belt and I authorized that additional service which was done fairly quickly. I have a dash dvr in my car and it was on during all of this. I can confirm, on replay, that the belt was, in fact, replaced thus certifying, in my mind at least, that Clairemont Auto Care is an honest repair facility. The price for all the servicing was also fair. Two big thumbs up in addition to the 5 stars!

Stranded - New in TownAfter just relocating to San Diego from the east coast my car broke down on my way to the beach. The tow truck driver suggested that he take my car to Clairemont Auto Care. I was nervous because I had a very bad experience several years ago taking my car to an unknown auto repair facility in LA after an accident.I left my car overnight and called Clairemont early the next morning. Sam answered my call and took my information and asked several questions regarding the problem I had with my car. He told me he would call me with an estimate as soon as they knew what was wrong. I had an idea what was wrong and when Sam called back he confirmed what I thought and he told me what repairs were needed. Since I had just driven across the country, I asked him to check the oil and other fluids to make sure everything was okay and told him that I needed to drive to LA later that afternoon.Sam and the crew at Clairemont fixed my car for the estimated price quoted and told me that I did not need oil or anything extra (surprising me). They had me back on the road to LA early in the afternoon.I was impressed with the professionalism and kindness shown to me at Clairemont Auto Care and would recommend them without hesitation. I now have my go to auto shop in my new city.
